Abstract
The superiority of self-healing hydrogel systems with dynamic covalent chemistry is the ability to establish the gel network structure despite changes in ambient conditions such as pH, temperature, and ion concentrations. The Schiff base reaction, which occurs through aldehyde and amine groups, allows dynamic covalent bonds at physiological pH and temperature. In this study, gelation kinetics between glycerol multi-aldehyde (GMA) and water-soluble form of chitosan, carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS), has been investigated, and the self-healing ability has been evaluated in detail. Macroscopic and electron microscope-based visual inspection and rheological tests showed that the hydrogels exhibit the highest self-healing capacity at 3-4 % CMCS and 0.5-1 % GMA concentrations. Hydrogel samples were subjected to alternating high and low strains to deteriorate and rebuild the elastic network structure. The results showed that hydrogels could restore their physical integrity after applying 200 % strains. In addition, direct cell encapsulation and double staining tests showed that the samples do not possess any acute cytotoxicity on mammalian cells; hence, hydrogels could potentially be used in tissue engineering applications for soft tissues.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Aminomethylphenol molecules have wider applications in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, plant protection and promising functional materials. The development of an efficient and practical method to prepare this class of compound is highly desirable from both environmental and economical points of view. MATERIALS AND METHODS In order to establish an effective synthetic method for preparing aminomethylphenol derivatives, the Petasis borono-Mannich reaction of salicylaldehyde, phenylboronic acid and 1,2,3,4- tetrahydroisoquinoline was selected as a model reaction. A variety of reaction conditions are investigated, including solvent and temperature. The generality and limitation of the established method were also evaluated. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION It was found that model reaction can be carried out in cyclopentyl methyl ether at 80 oC under catalyst-free conditions. This protocol, with broad substrate applicability, the reaction of various arylboronic acid, secondary amine and salicylaldehyde proceeded smoothly under optimal reaction conditions to afford various aminomethylphenol derivatives in high yields. A practical, scalable, and high-yielding synthesis of aminomethylphenol derivatives was successfully accomplished. CONCLUSION A catalyst-free practical method for the synthesis of minomethylphenol derivatives based on Petasis borono-Mannich (PBM) reaction of various arylboronic acid, secondary amine and salicylaldehyde in cyclopentyl methyl ether has been developed. The salient features of this protocol are avoidance of any additive/catalyst and toxic organic solvents, use of cyclopentyl methyl ether as the reaction medium, clean reaction profiles, easy operation, and high to excellent yield.

Abstract
The 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions (DCs) of nitrile oxides (NOs) to alkenes and alkynes are useful methods for the synthesis of 2-isoxazolines and isoxazoles respectively, which are important classes of heterocyclic compounds in organic and medicinal chemistry. Most of these reactions are carried out in organic solvents and under thermal activation. Nevertheless the use of supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2 ) and ionic liquids (Ils) as alternative solvents and the application of microwave (MW) and ultrasound (US) as alternative activation procedures have evident advantages from the "Green Chemistry" point of view. The critical discussion on the applications of these "unconventional" activation methods and reaction conditions in the 1,3-DCs of NOs is the objective of the present Review.

Abstract
Objective:
3,3-Disubstituted indol-2-one derivatives have wider applications in pharmaceuticals and they are key intermediates for the synthesis of many kinds of drug candidates. The development of an efficient and practical method to prepare this class of compound is highly desirable from both environmental and economical points of views.
Methods:
In order to establish an effective synthetic method for preparing 3,3-disubstituted indol-2-one derivatives, the bis-condensation reaction of isatin and 1H-indene-1,3(2H)-dione was selected as a model reaction. A variety of natural deep eutectic solvent (NADES) were prepared and used for this reaction. The generality and limitation of the established method were also investigated.
Results:
It was found that model reaction can be carried out in natural deep eutectic solvent (NADES) based on choline chloride (ChCl) at 80 oC under microwave irradiation. This protocol with a broad substrate applicability afforded various 2,2'-(2-oxoindoline-3,3-diyl)bis(1H-indene-1,3(2H)-dione) derivatives in high yields.
Conclusion:
simple and efficient procedure has been developed for synthesis of 2,2'-(2-oxoindoline-3,3-diyl)bis(1H-indene-1,3(2H)-dione), spiro[indoline-3,7'-pyrano[5,6-c:5,6-c']dichromene]-2,6',8'-trione, and spiro[indoline-3,9'-xan-thene] trione via bis-condensation between isatin with 1,3-indandione, 4-hydroxycoumarin or 1,3-cyclohexanedione in nat-ural deep eutectic solvent (NADES) based on choline chloride (ChCl) and glycerol (Gl) under microwave irradiation. The salient features of this protocol are avoidance of any additive/catalyst and toxic organic solvent, clean reaction profiles, non-chromatographic purification procedure, and high to excellent yield. Furthermore, the use of NADES as green reaction medium reduces burden on environment and makes the present method environmentally sustainable.

Abstract
One central challenge for XXI century chemists is the development of sustainable processes that do not represent a risk either to humanity or to the environment. In this regard, the search for more efficient and clean alternatives to achieve the chemical activation of molecules involved in chemical transformations has played a prominent role in recent years. The use of microwave or UV-Vis light irradiation, and mechanochemical activation is already widespread in many laboratories. Nevertheless, an additional condition to achieve "green" processes comes from the point of view of so-called atom economy. The removal of solvents from chemical reactions generally leads to cleaner, more efficient and more economical processes. This review presents several illustrative applications of the use of sustainable protocols in the synthesis of organic compounds under solvent-free reaction conditions.

Abstract
Condensation reactions of unprotected tetroses and pentoses with hydroxylamines afforded nitrones, which were easily converted to densely functionalized isoxazolidines in the presence of electron-poor alkenes. The 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition occurred with good facial discrimination of the chiral nitrone but under rather low endo/exo control. Stereochemistry of isomers was ascertained by chemical correlation with known derivatives from the literature. Microwave activation appeared as the most efficient reaction mode, affording the expected adducts within several minutes whereas hours were needed under standard heating. Alternatively, the transformation proved also possible under high pressure conditions by using a hand pump system, avoiding any energy source. Although water could not be used as the solvent, leading to hydrolysis of the nitrone substrate, a large variety of organic solvents proved efficient. The method has potential use in the preparation of non-ionic carbohydrate-based amphiphiles.

Abstract
Microwaves (MW) are often the most efficient, in terms of heat exchange and conversion rate, of all the energy sources used to promote chemical reactions thanks to fast volumetric dielectric heating, and metal-catalyzed synthetic reactions under heterogeneous conditions are an eloquent example. We herein report a MW-assisted green protocol for the C-H arylation of thiophenes with substituted aryl halides. This sustainable protocol carried out in γ-valerolactone (GVL) is catalyzed by Pd nanoparticles embedded in cross-linked β-cyclodextrin. In view of the excellent results achieved with activated substrates, the one-pot synthesis of a 4(3H)-quinazolinone derivative has been accomplished. A pressure-resistant MW reactor, equipped with multiple gas inlets, was used for sequential (i) C-H arylation, (ii) reduction, and (iii) carbonylation in the presence of the same catalyst, but under different gas atmospheres. The robust heterogeneous Pd catalyst showed limited metal leaching in GVL, making this an efficient MW-assisted process with high atom economy.
