Abstract
Anatomical issues are intrinsically included in medico-legal methodology, however, higher awareness would be needed about the relevance of anatomy in addressing medico-legal questions in clinical/surgical contexts. Forensic Clinical Anatomy has been defined as "the practical application of Clinical Anatomy to the ascertainment and evaluation of medico-legal problems". The so-called individual anatomy (normal anatomy, anatomical variations, or anatomical modifications due to development, aging, para-physiological conditions, diseases, or surgery) may acquire specific relevance in medico-legal ascertainment and evaluation of cases of supposed medical malpractice. Here, we reviewed the literature on the relationships between anatomy, clinics/surgery, and legal medicine. Some methodological considerations were also proposed concerning the following issues: (1) relevant aspects of individual anatomy may arise from the application of methods of ascertainment, and they may be furtherly ascertained through specific anatomical methodology; (2) data about individual anatomy may help in the objective application of the criteria of evaluation (physio-pathological pathway, identification-evaluation of errors, causal value, damage estimation) and in final judgment about medical responsibility/liability. Awareness of the relevance of individual anatomy (risk of iatrogenic lesions, need for preoperative diagnostic procedures) should be one of the principles guiding the clinician; medico-legal analyses can also take advantage of its contribution in terms of ascertainment/evaluation.

Abstract
We aim to summarize the current knowledge about Mallampati class zero airway and its implication on airway management. Mallampati class zero airway describes a visible epiglottis on pharyngoscopic view. We reviewed the reported studies about visible epiglottis on pharyngoscopy and 35 publications were selected. Mallampati class zero airway has a low prevalence in the general population and it is more frequent in children and female. The cause for this phenomenon is not well understood but in clinical practice it is associated with an easy airway. Its inclusion as a new class in modified Mallampati classification would facilitate its diffusion and promote further investigation.

Abstract
Visible epiglottis is a rare anatomical variant which is usually asymptomatic without the need of any medical or surgical intervention. It is most commonly seen in children but there are some reports of its prevalence in adults too. Cases of visible epiglottis seem to be unfamiliar among dental professionals. In this report, we have attempted to present this anatomical variant of epiglottis in the feld of dentistry by describing a case of an 8-year-old girl who presented to the department of pediatric dentistry for normal dental check-up unaware of the existence of the visible epiglottis. Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of the present study was to investigate morphometric growth patterns of the cartilaginous components and vocal cords in human fetal larynx. METHODS This study was performed in the Anatomy Department of Meram Medicine Faculty in 2007. The fetuses were obtained from the Gynaecology Department of the Meram Medicine Faculty of Selcuk University, and Dr. Faruk Sükan Maternity Hospital (Konya, Turkey). Forty spontaneously aborted fetuses (25 males and 15 females) without detectable malformations were evaluated. The dimensions of the larynx and its cartilaginous components were measured and the relationship between the obtained data was statistically assessed with Student's t-test. RESULTS Correlations were found between the cartilaginous components, size of the larynx, and gestational age. No gender differences were identified. The anatomical variations in the epiglottis cartilage dimensions and types were found in 15% of cases. The foramen thyroideum was observed in 12.5% of cases. CONCLUSION The data of this study may contribute to the knowledge of the fetal larynx regarding laryngomalacia.
