Abstract
Background The job satisfaction of healthcare providers is particularly relevant in service management because employees' level of job satisfaction impacts healthcare service users. A positive association is observed between the job satisfaction of healthcare providers and patient satisfaction. This study was conducted to determine the job satisfaction levels and their determinants among healthcare providers (doctors, nurses, and support staff) in a tertiary care hospital. Methodology A cross-sectional study was conducted among 400 healthcare providers of a tertiary care medical college and hospital. The questionnaire method was employed to collect demographic data. Job satisfaction level was assessed using the Job Satisfaction Survey Scale (JSS Scale). Results The mean overall satisfaction score among doctors was 123.05 ± 17.06, for nurses 127.4 ± 14.58, and for the support staff 138.46 ± 22.09. Among all three groups, employees' support staff were found to be more satisfied (40%), followed by doctors (15%) and nurses (6.67%), while the proportion of dissatisfied employees was highest among doctors (20%) than nurses (6.67%) and the support staff (6.67%). Satisfaction was significantly higher among the support staff compared to doctors and nurses. The level of satisfaction was found to be more in the younger staff (38.14%), regular job holders (33.33%), and fresh recruits (37.5%). Overall, satisfaction levels were found to be positively associated with factors such as the type and nature of work (64%) and relationships with co-workers (40%) and supervisors (36%) while more dissatisfied with factors such as interpersonal communication (70%), salary (54%), and promotional opportunities (42%). Conclusion The overall satisfaction among employees was only 20%. Factors such as job security, young age, and work experience were strongly associated with job satisfaction. Employees were more satisfied with the type and nature of work and relationships with co-workers while more dissatisfied with salary, promotional opportunities, and interpersonal communication.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Doctors' job satisfaction is crucial to the health service to ensure commitment, effective training, service provision, and retention. Job satisfaction matters to doctors for their happiness, fulfilment, service to patients, and duty to employers. The quality of performance in the health sector to a large extent depends on whether healthcare providers are job-satisfied or dissatisfied. OBJECTIVES This study assessed the level and factors determining job satisfaction among resident doctors in a federal tertiary institution. MATERIAL AND METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted among the resident doctors of a government tertiary care hospital. Data were collected using a self-reported questionnaire consisting of 49 items under seven domains of job satisfaction, where higher values indicated a higher level of satisfaction. The average scores of items were computed to construct factor scores for each individual. A Chi-square test was applied. RESULTS The proportion of job satisfaction among resident doctors was found to be 80.9%. On adjustment, the odds of being satisfied were found to be higher in the older age groups, among males, and doctors posted in clinical departments. CONCLUSION Most respondents in this study were satisfied with their jobs with minorities satisfied with their monetary and infrastructure facilities. There is a need to address these issues to enhance healthcare quality, especially in the public sector.

Abstract
Background Health professional’s job satisfaction is directly related to patient satisfaction and quality of care. Without satisfied health professionals the health system is not functional, and the national and global health related plans are not achieved. However, little is known on the level of health professional’s job satisfaction in sub Saharan African countries including Ethiopia. In addition, in Ethiopia there is no summarized evidence helped us an input to design strategies. Therefore, we aimed to assess the pooled prevalence of health professional’s job satisfaction and its determinants in Ethiopia. Methods Articles were searched from PubMed, PsycINFO, Hinari, Science Direct, web of science and African journal of online (AJOL) databases, Google and Google scholar. A standardized Microsoft excel spread sheet and STATA software version 16 were used for data extraction and analysis respectively. We followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analysis to write this report. A random effect meta-analysis model was used to determine the pooled prevalence of job satisfaction. I2 was done to check heterogeneity. Egger’s test and funnel plot were conducted to detect publication bias. Subgroup analysis was also conducted. Association was expressed through pooled odd ratio with a 95% CI. Result In this review and meta-analysis, a total of 29 studies were included. The pooled prevalence of health professional’s job satisfaction was 46.17% [95% CI (43.08, 49.26)]. The heterogeneity and publication bias test results were I2 = 87.3%, P < 0.001 and Eggers’, P = 0.16. Female sex; OR: 2.20 [95% CI (1.63, 2.97)], working environment; OR: 9.50 [95% CI (6.25, 14.44)], opportunity for professional growth and development; OR: 5.53 [95% CI (1.56, 19.56)], staff relationship; OR: 3.89 [95% CI (1.65, 9.17)] and supportive supervision; OR: 5.32 [95% CI (1.77, 15.92)] were associated with health professional’s job satisfaction. Conclusion More than half of professionals were dissatisfied with their jobs. Therefore, the ministry of health and stakeholders better to design strategies to increase the level of satisfaction. Furthermore, it is better to strengthen staff relationship and making the working environment more attractive and equipped. Abstract
BACKGROUND Doctors are often been judged negatively as a consequence of high expectation and demand from their job and face violence at workplace. Continuous worry of facing aggression at workplace may seriously affect job satisfaction and intention to job turnover. However, the association between workplace safety and job satisfaction had not been studied earlier in India. METHODS A cross-sectional survey was conducted among doctors from November 2019 to April 2020 using a pre-tested, semi-structured, anonymous "Google forms" based questionnaire among doctors working in private and/or public healthcare settings across India. Perception of safety was assessed by scoring in a scale. Cronbach's coefficient of the scale was calculated to be 0.88. Job satisfaction was assessed using the 5-item Brayfield and Rothe measure of job satisfaction. Cronbach's coefficient of the scale was 0.76. The data was coded and analyzed with the help of STATA-12. RESULTS 617 doctors practicing modern medicine participated in this study from all over India. 262 (42.5%) doctors were found to be satisfied at their job. Perception of safety at workplace was found to have 2.5 times greater influence on job satisfaction of doctors. 23.2% of the doctors expressed job turnover intention which was positively correlated with job satisfaction and perception of safety. CONCLUSION Perception of safety from workplace violence was found to have significant effect on job satisfaction and turnover intention than actual violence. Appropriate strategy may be undertaken to address this apprehension at workplace.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The practice of medicine is an honorable profession besides being accompanied by a demanding environment. This study aimed to find out the professional quality of life of medical doctors working in Kathmandu valley. METHODS A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among 174 Nepalese medical doctors working in different hospitals of Kathmandu valley. Ethical approval was taken from the Ethical Review Board of the Nepal Health Research Council (Reference Number: 830). The data collection tool used in the study was WHO Professional Quality of Life Scale-5 to collect data about Compassion satisfaction, Burnout and Secondary traumatic stress among medical doctors working in Kathmandu valley. Data analysis was done in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 16.0. RESULTS Out of 174 participants, 101 (58%), 126 (72.4%) and 135 (77.6%) were found to have moderate level of Compassion satisfaction, Burnout and Secondary Traumatic Stress respectively. CONCLUSIONS More than half, nearly two-third, and more than two-third participants had moderate levels of Compassion satisfaction, Burnout and Secondary Traumatic Stress respectively. The overall study findings reflected good balance between Compassion satisfaction and Compassion fatigue (burnout and secondary traumatic stress) among the Nepalese medical doctors. Further assessment of professional quality of life of doctors as well as other health care workers via Multifaceted and large-scale study is recommended.

Abstract
IMPORTANCE Improving health care in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) requires a workforce with positive job morale. However, the level of job morale in this population remains unclear. OBJECTIVE To analyze studies measuring the job morale of physicians and dentists working in LMICs, using levels of job burnout, job satisfaction, and job motivation as indicators of job morale. DATA SOURCES A comprehensive search of Scopus, PubMed, PsycINFO, EMBASE, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library, from database inception to October 30, 2018, and gray literature was performed. STUDY SELECTION Studies were eligible if at least 50% of the sample were qualified physicians and/or dentists working in public health care settings in LMICs. Three indicators of job morale in this population were used: job burnout, job satisfaction, and job motivation. Of 12 324 records reviewed, 79 studies were included in the systematic review and 59 were eligible for the meta-analysis. DATA EXTRACTION AND SYNTHESIS Data were extracted independently by several investigators in accordance with the Meta-analyses of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (MOOSE) reporting guidelines. Random-effects meta-analyses, planned subgroup analyses, and metaregression were performed. The Quality Assessment Tool for Observational Cohort and Cross-Sectional Studies was used to assess bias. MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES Levels of job burnout, job satisfaction, and job motivation as indicators of job morale. RESULTS Overall, 12 324 records were identified. Of them, 80 records, representing 79 studies and involving 45 714 participants across 37 LMICs, met the inclusion criteria for the review; however, only 3 were from low-income countries. In 21 studies with 9092 participants working mainly in middle-income countries, 32% (95% CI, 27%-38%; I2 = 95.32%; P < .001) reported job burnout, and in 20 studies with 14 113 participants, 60% (95% CI, 53%-67%; I2 = 98.21%; P < .001) were satisfied with their job overall. Sufficient data were not available for a meta-analysis of job motivation. CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE The findings suggest that, among physicians and dentists working mainly in middle-income countries, more than half reported having positive job morale. Positive job morale among physicians and dentists may help with recruitment and retention and thus support programs for improving health care in LMICs.

Abstract
The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship of doctors’ job satisfaction with doctor-patient relationship and work-family conflict in China. The data came from a cross-sectional survey in Hubei province, which was part of China’s Fifth National Health Services Survey conducted in 2013. The survey in Hubei covered 54 secondary and tertiary general hospitals distributed in 20 counties. Of the 1080 questionnaires, 908 were included into our analysis. After surviving from reliability and validity tests, structural equation modeling was applied for further analysis with SPSS 20.0 and Mplus 7.0. The results showed that the average score of job satisfaction is 19.61 out of 30 points, indicating a relatively low level of doctors’ job satisfaction in Hubei province. Work-family conflict was found to have negative impact on doctors’ job satisfaction, and good doctor-patient relationship was found to have positive impact on their job satisfaction. Therefore, hospital administrators and policy makers should make effort to design and implement strategies that focus on meliorating doctor-patient relationship and balancing doctors’ work and family life to further improve their job satisfaction.

Abstract
Objective: To assess the level of job satisfaction among the dental workforce in the National Guard Health Affairs (NGHA) in Saudi Arabia and to explore any predictors that have impact on the level of satisfaction. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study targeted dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists, and dental lab technicians who are workers for the NGHA. A cluster random sampling procedure was conducted from seven dental centers. Data were collected through a self-reported questionnaire that was previously published. Satisfaction questions were related to (a) professional and personal life, (b) income and job security, (c) quality of service, and (d) prestige and self-perception domains. Data analysis included frequency distributions, and a comparison of mean using t-test was conducted using SPSS software. Results: The response rate was 55.5%. The mean satisfaction score was 65.7 out of 112 (2.9 out of 5). Of the four domains pertaining to job satisfactions, the highest mean score was obtained for quality of service (4.2 out of 5), followed by prestige and self-perception (2.8 out of 5), professional and personal life (2.8 out of 5), and income and job security (2.6 out of 5). Non-Saudis were found to be significantly more satisfied in professional and personal life; however, Saudi dentists were more satisfied for income and job security and quality of services. Conclusions: In general, the dental workforce practicing in NGHA experience a low level of job satisfaction. Professional and personal life, income and job security, and quality of services are all important factors affecting the level of job satisfaction.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine level and factors of job satisfaction among doctors working in tertiary care hospitals in Pakistan. METHODS This is a multi-center cross-sectional survey conducted among Post graduate trainees, medical officers, consultants and faculty doctors. Job satisfaction was measured using 35 specific questions about sources of work-related stress and sources of work-related satisfaction. Satisfaction was defined if mean score of a factor was≥3.0, where factors were rated using a 5-point Linkert scale ranging from 1 (completely dissatisfied) to 5 (completely satisfied). RESULTS In this study 373 doctors participated, out of which 215(57.6%) were males. Over all mean satisfaction score was of 2.69 ±0.37. Departmental mean satisfaction scores were Internal medicine 2.71 ±0.35, Medical subspecialties 2.63 ±0.38, Surgical and allied 2.73 ±0.45. Designation means were Consultant 2.87 ±0.38, Faculty 2.78 ±0.44, Medical officer/ Registrar 2.50 ±0.32, Post graduate trainee 2.71 ±0.45. Public and private sector means satisfaction scores were 2.53 ±0.80 and 2.92 ±0.84 respectively. CONCLUSION Job dissatisfaction was seen among doctors from all the tiers and departments. Public sector doctors were more dissatisfied than private sector doctors. Increasing age, duration of current posting and working experience, positively correlated with satisfaction level.

Abstract
Objectives The main aim of this study was to assess the level of job satisfaction and associated factors among healthcare professionals working at University of Gondar Referral Hospital, Northwest Ethiopia. An institution based cross-sectional study was conducted among 416 healthcare professionals from March 27, 2017 to April 25, 2017. Simple random sampling technique was employed and data were collected with a pre-tested interviewer administered questionnaire. Data were entered into Epi-Info version 7, and analyzed using SPSS 20 softwares. Binary logistic regression analysis was employed. Results A total of 383 participants were involved in the study. The overall level of job satisfaction among health care professionals was 54% [95% CI (49.3–58.8)]. Marital status [AOR = 1.79 (1.140, 2.797)], salary [AOR = 2.75 (1.269, 5.958)], leadership style [AOR = 2.19 (1.31–3.65)], and supportive supervision [AOR = 2.05 (1.27–3.32)] were found significant determinants of job satisfaction. The overall level of job satisfaction among health care professionals at the University of Gondar Referral Hospital was low. Therefore, health service managers should focus their leadership style and provide supportive supervision in the hospital to improve the level of job satisfaction of health care professionals.
