Abstract
BACKGROUND Lung transplantation (LT) has recently emerged as a scientifically validated curative therapeutic modality for patients afflicted with end-stage lung disease. This study aimed to conduct a global bibliometric analysis of research articles on LT between 1983 and 2021. METHODS Employing the Web of Science database, a bibliometric analysis was conducted to assess the expansion of scientific output within the field of LT. We searched specific bibliometric characteristics such as language, and year of publication, first author, institutional affiliation, main publishing journals, and highly cited articles. Additionally, we made comparisons of the most productive countries. The VOSviewer program and the open-source visualization software Biblioshiny (version 2.0) were used to perform the bibliometric analysis. RESULTS We identified 10,467 articles on LT published between 1983 and 2021, of which 94.898% were published in the Science Citation Index Expanded. The articles were from 101 different research areas. The publications were from 81 different countries globally, and mostly from the United States (41.196%), Germany (7.118%), and Canada (6.372%). The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation was the most published journal. Four thousand seven hundred and ninety three of the publications were published in the last 10 years with a 78,781 citation number in total. The highest number of publications and citations was in 2021. CONCLUSION The majority of cutting-edge research findings are focused on only a few developed nations, and exchanges with emerging nations are still in their infancy. The United States has a strong, commanding position among the active countries in LT.

Abstract
Thermostability is considered a crucial parameter to evaluate the viability of enzymes in industrial applications. Over the past 31 years, many studies have been reported on the thermostability of enzymes. However, there is no systematic bibliometric analysis of publications on the thermostability of enzymes. In this study, 16,035 publications related to the thermostability of enzymes were searched and collected, showing an increasing annual trend. China contributed the most publications, while the United States had the highest citation count. International Journal of Biological Macromolecules is the most productive journal in the research field. Moreover, Chinese acad sci and Khosro Khajeh are the most active institutions and prolific authors in the field, respectively. Analysis of references with the strongest citation bursts and keyword co-occurrences, magnetic nanoparticles, metal-organic frameworks, molecular dynamics, and rational design are current hot spots and significant future research directions. This study is the first comprehensive bibliometric analysis summarizing trends and developments in enzyme thermostability research. Our findings could provide scholars with an understanding of the fundamental knowledge framework of the field and identify recent potential hotspots and research trends that could facilitate the discovery of collaboration opportunities.

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) has evolved into a pivotal intervention in critical care, offering a lifeline for patients facing severe respiratory or cardiac failure. This review provides a comprehensive exploration of ECMO, spanning its definition and historical background to its contemporary advancements and ongoing impact in critical care. The versatility of ECMO in addressing diverse critical conditions, careful patient selection criteria, and the nuanced management of complications are discussed. Advances in technology, including miniaturization, novel circuit designs, and the integration of remote monitoring, showcase the evolving landscape of ECMO. The review underscores the ongoing impact of ECMO in improving survival rates, enhancing mobility, and enabling remote expertise. As a symbol of hope and innovation, ECMO's lifesaving potential is evident in its ability to navigate the complexities of critical care and redefine the boundaries of life support interventions.

Abstract
Background: Autophagy is a highly regulated and evolutionarily conserved process in eukaryotes which is responsible for protein and organelle degradation. Although this process was described over 60 years ago, the selective autophagy of mitochondria (mitophagy) was recently coined in 2005. Research on the topic of mitophagy has made rapid progress in the past decade, which proposed to play critical roles in human health and disease. This study aimed to visualize the scientific outputs and research trends of mitophagy.Methods: Articles and reviews related to the topic of mitophagy were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection on 30 November 2021. Two kinds of software (CiteSpace and VOSviewer) were used to perform a visualized analysis of countries/regions, institutions, authors, journals, references, and keywords.Results: From 2005 to 2021, total 5844 publications on mitophagy were identified for final analysis. The annual number of publications grew yearly over the past 17 years. United States (N = 2025) and Chinese Academy of Sciences is the leading country and institute (N = 112) ranked by the number of publications, respectively. The most productive author was Jun Ren (N = 38) and Derek P. Narendra obtained the most co-cited times (2693 times). The journals with the highest output and the highest co-citation frequency were Autophagy (N = 208) and Journal of Biological Chemistry (co-citation: 17226), respectively. Analyses of references and keywords suggested that “mechanism of mitochondrial quality control”, “molecule and signaling pathway in mitophagy”, and “mitophagy related diseases” were research hotspots, and parkin-mediated mitophagy and its roles in skeletal muscle and inflammation-related diseases may be the frontiers of future research.Conclusion: Although mitophagy research has flourished and attracted attention from all over the world, the regional imbalance in the development of mitophagy research was observed. Our results provided a comprehensive global research landscape of mitophagy from 2005– 2021 from a perspective of bibliometrics, which may serve as a reference for future mitophagy studies.
