Abstract
The impact of general anesthetics on brain function development is one of the top frontier issues of public concern. However, little bibliometric analysis has investigated this territory systematically. Our study aimed to visualize the publications between 2000 and 2023 to inspire the trends and hotspots in anesthetic neurodevelopmental toxicity research. Publications from 2000 to 2023 were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace was utilized to plot and analyze the network maps of countries, institutions, authors, journals, and keywords associated with these publications. A total of 864 publications, consisting of 786 original articles and 78 reviews, were extracted from 2000 to 2023. The annual publications have increased constantly over the past two decades. The USA and the People's Republic of China were the leading driving forces in this field. Harvard University was the most productive institution. Zhang Y published the most related articles, and Jevtovic-Todorovic V was mostly cited in this field. The most prolific journal was Pediatric Anesthesia, and the most frequently co-cited journal was Anesthesiology. Keywords were divided into nine clusters: "apoptosis", "propofol", "developing brain", "cognitive dysfunction", "neuronal cell degeneration", "brain", "neuroinflammation", "local anesthesia", and "oxygen therapy". The strongest citation bursts in earlier years were "learning disability", "cell death", and "cognitive function". The emerging trends in the coming years were "awake regional anesthesia", "behavioral outcome", and "infancy general anesthesia compared to spinal anesthesia". We conclude that anesthetic-induced neurotoxicity has received growing attention in the past two decades. Our findings evaluated the present status and research trends in this area, which may provide help for exploring further potential prospects on hot topics and frontiers.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In recent years, the impact of diet on Alzheimer's disease (AD) as a modifiable lifestyle has attracted widespread attention. We aimed to elucidate the current research status, frontiers, and research trends regarding the role of diet in AD over the past two decades through CiteSpace. METHODS Studies related to AD and diet that were published from January 1, 2003, to June 30, 2023, were retrieved via the Web of Science Core Collection. We imported the study data into CiteSpace for visual analysis of countries, institutions, co-authors, and co-occurring keywords. RESULTS A total of 922 relevant studies were included in our analysis, which found Nikolaos Scarmeas was the most prolific author (13 studies, 1.41%). The results also indicated that USA and Columbia University were the country and institution with the highest number of publications, with 209 (22.67%) and 23 (2.49%), respectively. The keywords that had a burst in the past four years were neuroinflammation, AD, tau, association, and beta. CONCLUSION Talent exchange and regional cooperation are recommended in this study field. The results indicate that the effectiveness of various dietary patterns and mechanisms of dietary interventions using biomarkers and supplementation with refined nutrients will be the main research trends in the future.

Abstract
Background In recent years, the incidence of herpes zoster has risen steeply, the exact pathogenesis of the acute pain and the transformation into postherpetic neuralgia are still obscure, and the absence of effective management remains a major therapeutic challenge. The purpose of this study was to perform a qualitative and quantitative bibliometric analysis of the 100 most cited papers on herpes zoster. Materials and methods Related literature were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. Excel and VOSviewer software were applied to quantitatively analyze, and construct the bibliometric network charts. Results The Top 100 most-cited papers published between 2000 and 2018 showed a fluctuating downward trend. The most studies were published in the year of 2000 (n = 12). The article entitled "A vaccine to prevent herpes zoster and postherpetic neuralgia in older adults" from Oxman MN, was the most-cited publication. The United States was the most contributing country, followed by the United Kingdom, and Italy. Finland occupied the highest citations per publication (CPP). The University of Colorado topped the list of institutions with the most publications with 18 articles and also had the most citations (average citations: 281.78 per article). Myron J Levin from the University of Colorado School of Medicine is the most published and most cited researcher overall, whereas Duke University's John W Gnann tops the list in terms of average CPP. Conclusion In terms of the quantity of T100 articles, researchers, and organizations, the US is the predominant country. The most T100 papers were published in the special journal Clinical Infectious Diseases. The most academic focus remain the remedies for postherpetic neuralgia and vaccine development for individualized groups.

Abstract
Background Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by progressive progress and memory loss, which eventually develops into dementia. It can cause personality disorders and decreased quality of life of patients. Currently, AD patients account for 60-70% of global dementia patients and the incidence rate of AD is increasing annually. AD not only causes pain to patients but also brings a heavy burden to the entire family. Studies have found that there is a connection between mitochondrial dysfunction and other biochemical changes in AD like classical neuropathological hallmarks (β-amyloid and tau protein), inflammation pathways, oxidative stress, and so on. Evidence shows that early treatment targeted directly to mitochondria could extend the lifespan of model mice and decrease the relevant neuropathological markers. Therefore, research on the mitochondrial dysfunction of AD can be of potential significance for clinical treatment. To date, few bibliometric analysis articles related to mitochondrial dysfunction of AD have been published. Bibliometric analysis refers to quantitatively analyzing certain aspects of articles like publishers, authors, and countries by using statistical and mathematical methods. Combined with statistical software, a large number of papers can be converted to visualization figures and tables, which provide vital information such as keyword hotspots and the names of contributing authors. Through the bibliometric analysis method, our study aimed to provide study trends and keyword hotpots for researchers to conduct further relevant research in this field. Methods We used the Web of Science core collection database as a literature retrieval tool to obtain data related to mitochondrial changes in Alzheimer's disease during the last 20 years. The retrieval type was [TS = (Alzheimer's disease)] ND [TS = (mitochondrion)], ranging from January 1, 2000 to June 30, 2022. VOSviewer v1.6.18, Arcgis 10.8, and HistCite pro 2.1 were used to conduct data visualization analysis. VOSviewer v1.6.18 made relevant network visualization maps of the cooperative relationship between relevant countries, institutions, and authors (co-authorship), the frequency of different keywords appearing together (co-occurrence), and the frequency of different articles cited together (co-cited). Arcgis 10.8 created the world map of publications distribution in this field and Histcite pro 2.1 was used to count the local citation score (LCS) of references. In addition, Journal Citation Reports were used to consult the latest journal import factor and JCI quartile. Results As of June 30, 2022, from the Web of Science core collection, we selected 2,474 original articles in English, excluding the document types of the news items, meeting abstracts, and some articles that had little relevance to our theme. The United States acted as the leader and enjoyed a high reputation in this field. The University of California System was the institution that made the greatest contribution (3.64% with 90 papers). Most articles were published in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease (8.21%, with 203 papers). The most frequently co-cited journal in Q1 was the Journal of Biological Chemistry (8,666 citations, TLS: 1039591). Russel H. Swerdlow (55 publications) was the most productive author and PH Reddy was the most co-cited author with 1,264 citations (TLS: 62971). The hotpots of mitochondrial dysfunction in AD were as follows: "oxidative stress," "amyloid-beta-protein," "tau," "apoptosis," "inflammation," "autophagy," "precursor protein," "endoplasmic-reticulum," "dynamics" and "mitochondrial unfolded protein response." Conclusion This bibliometric analysis research will help readers rapidly identify current hotpots and milestone studies related to directions of interest in AD research.

Abstract
Background: At the end of the 1990s, transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) was first identified and cloned, serving as a key pain and heat sensor in humans. A large body of evidence have revealed its polymodal structure, complex function and wide-spread distribution, the specific mechanism of the ion channel remains unclear. Our goal here is to perform a bibliometric analysis and visualization study to present hotspots and trends in TRPV1 channel. Materials and Methods: TRPV1-related publications from inception to 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science database. Excel, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace software were utilized for co-authorship, co-citation and co-occurrence analysis. Results: There were 9,113 publications included in the study, the number of publications increased rapidly after 1989, from 7 in 1990 to 373 in 2007, during which the number of citations per publication (CPP) also reached a peak in 2000 (CPP = 106.52). A total of 1,486 journals published TRPV1 articles, mainly belong to Q1 or Q2 divisions; The United States published the most articles (TP = 3,080), followed by Japan (TP = 1,221), China (TP = 1,217), and England (TP = 734); In recent years, the TRPV1-related research direction has been broaden to multiple fields related to inflammation, oxidative stress, and apoptosis; Keyword clustering refined the topic distributions and could be generalized as neuralgia, endogenous cannabinoid system, TRPV1 mediated airway hyperresponsiveness, involvement of apoptosis, TRPV1 antagonists as therapy targets. Conclusion: By conducting an exhaustive bibliographic search, this review refined the topic distributions and generalized as neuralgia, endogenous cannabinoid system, TRPV1 mediated airway hyperresponsiveness, involvement of apoptosis, TRPV1 antagonists as therapy targets. It is currently being clarified how exactly TRPV1 works as an ion channel, and much more in-depth basic research is needed in the future.

Abstract
Background Non-coding RNAs (ncRNA) are a kind of RNA that does not encode protein, which play an important role in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). However, there is a lack of bibliometric analysis and visualization analysis of the research related to AD and ncRNAs. Materials and methods Literature related to AD and ncRNAs in the last decade were searched through the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC). The relevant information from all the searched articles was collected. The bibliometric visualization website, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer were used for visualization analysis of countries/regions, institutions, authors, and keywords. Results In total, 1,613 kinds of literature were published in the field. Literature in this field were published in 494 journals. The Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease was the most popular journal. China, Louisiana State University System, and Lukiw WJ were the countries/regions, institutions, and authors with the highest scientific productivity, respectively. The research hotspots in this field focused on the role and mechanism of ncRNAs, especially microRNAs, in AD. The level of research was mainly based on basic research, focusing on animal and cellular levels, and related to proteomics. “Circular RNAs,” “regulation of neuroinflammation,” and “tau protein” were the future research directions. Conclusion Taken together, the field of AD and ncRNAs is developing well. The research hotspots and frontiers in this field can provide a reference for researchers to choose their research direction.
