Abstract
Background Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a distinct fibroblastic tumor that can occur at any anatomical site and can manifest a variety of histopathological features. NAB2-STAT6 gene fusion has recently emerged as a sensitive and specific molecular marker and its surrogate on immunohistochemistry, STAT6 has also displayed considerable efficacy. Nevertheless, its histologic diversity can result in diagnostic challenges, especially when classic features are not apparent. Methods A retrospective study was conducted at a tertiary cancer centre in North India over 3 years to document the clinicopathologic and immunomorphologic profile of SFTs. Immunohistochemical analysis of BCOR and p53 were gauged additionally and patients were stratified according to Modified Demicco and Salas criteria for risk of metastasis. Results Sixteen patients of SFT were identified, affecting middle-aged men and women equally. Though lung/pleura are known to be involved commonly, SFT affects other sites such as the kidney, brain, buccal mucosa, liver, and penis as well. The majority endured localized disease while a lesser number suffered locoregional/distant spread. Two patients revealed features of a malignant profile. Risk stratification according to the Modified Demicco and Salas criteria evinced comparable results. No discernible relationship however was highlighted between the immunohistochemical expression of BCOR, p53, and any significant SFT parameter. Conclusion Although SFTs are very rare substantially benign mesenchymal neoplasms, pathologists must be conversant with their histological diversity and be vigilant of their malignant attributes. The worth of STAT6 immunohistochemistry for precise diagnosis and long-term studies for delineating clinical behavior cannot be overemphasized.

Abstract
We encountered a rare case of low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma, which is generally known as Evans tumor, with massive calcification originating from the lung. The patient was a 22-year-old man with Duchenne muscular dystrophy who was referred for a detailed investigation of an intrathoracic tumor with massive calcification. Although our preoperative diagnosis was a solitary fibrous tumor originating from the mediastinum or diaphragm, intraoperative thoracoscopy revealed the tumor arising from the left lower lobe without adhesion to the other organs. Considering his medical history, we aimed to preserve lung function and chose wedge resection, which completely removed the tumor. Based on the pathological findings, the tumor was diagnosed as low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma with massive calcification originating from the lung. Although extremely rare, this tumor should be considered as a differential diagnosis for a solitary lung mass with massive calcification in young adults.

Abstract
Background Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) of the chest mainly arises from the pleura, but intrapulmonary SFT is rare. This study aimed to review and discuss the chest multislice computed tomography (MSCT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of intrapulmonary SFT and summarize existing literature on the disease in order to improve clinicians' understanding and diagnosis of this disease. Methods The imaging findings and clinical data of 4 surgically and pathologically confirmed intrapulmonary SFT cases were retrospectively analyzed in terms of location, morphology, size, density, border, enhancement level of the lesion, and its relationship with surrounding tissue. These findings were combined with a review of 61 cases reported in the literature to characterize the features of intrapulmonary SFT. Results A total of 65 patients with intrapulmonary SFT were reviewed, consisting of 30 females and 35 males. Of these cases, 21 had a lesion in the left lower lobe, more than in any other part of the lungs. The lesions were clear, had a quasicircular boundary, and were distinctly separated from surrounding tissue. Under plain scan, the 4 cases investigated in this study showed lesions of even density, and enhanced scanning revealed geographic enhancement in 2 cases. Of the 65 cases examined, 56 cases were benign, and the remaining 9 cases were borderline or malignant. Conclusions The imaging findings of intrapulmonary SFT demonstrated certain features, such as lesions with a clear boundary and even density. Imaging examination is important for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of this disease.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Solitary fibrous tumor of the pleura (SFTP) is a mesenchymal tumor. Patients with SFTP generally have only one lesion. We herein report an extremely rare case of multiple SFTPs that were multicentric and unilateral. CASE PRESENTATION The patient was a 21-year-old asymptomatic young man who was referred to our hospital due to abnormal shadows on a chest X-ray. Computed tomography showed 6 tumors of heterogeneous sizes in the left thoracic cavity. The tumors were suspected to be multiple benign or low-grade malignant thoracic tumors, and tumor resection was performed. The tumors had almost the same appearance, with uniform fibroblastic spindle cell proliferation, and arose from the pleura in microscopy. Immunohistochemical staining revealed that the tumor cells were positive for CD34, CD99, Bcl-2, and STAT6. Based on these findings, the tumors were diagnosed as multiple SFTPs with multicentricity. At 1 year and 6 months after the first surgery, 2 new lesions were found above the diaphragm, and these were resected. These tumors were arose from the pleura with a fibrous capsule structure. Their pathological findings were identical to the initial tumor without evidence of malignant transformation. CONCLUSION We experienced an extremely rare case of multiple SFTPs with multicentric and unilateral lesions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a relatively rare type of mesenchymal neoplasm that occurs most frequently in the pleura. However, SFT originating from the prostate is particularly uncommon and only approximately 39 cases were reported before. Herein, we reported a rare case of a patient diagnosed with prostate SFT and presented a literature review.Case presentation: A 50-year-old Asian with irritative urinary symptoms was admitted to our hospital and almost all the evidence indicated that benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) caused his symptoms. Therefore, transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) was performed, but histopathological and Immunohistochemical (IHC) assessments showed that spindle cells arranged disorderly in the TURP specimen with a cluster of differentiation 34 (CD34), B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2), and signal transducer and activator of transcription 6 (STAT6) highly expressed and SFT was diagnosed. Finally, the patient underwent a radical prostatectomy and there was no disease progression observed thereafter. CONCLUSIONS Prostate SFT is extremely rare, and to our knowledge, this is the first case of prostate SFT that is difficult to differentiate from small volume BPH. IHC examinations are of great diagnostic value. Radical resection of the tumor appears to be the most effective method at present and continuous follow-up is highly recommended.
