Abstract
Neonicotinoids, sometimes abbreviated as neonics, represent a class of neuro-active insecticides with chemical similarities to nicotine. Neonicotinoids are the most widely adopted group of insecticides globally since their discovery in the late 1980s. Their physiochemical properties surpass those of previously established insecticides, contributing to their popularity in various sectors such as agriculture and wood treatment. The environmental impact of neonicotinoids, often overlooked, underscores the urgency to develop tools for their detection and understanding of their behavior. Conventional methods for pesticide detection have limitations. Chromatographic techniques are sensitive but expensive, generate waste, and require complex sample preparation. Bioassays lack specificity and accuracy, making them suitable as preliminary tests in conjunction with instrumental methods. Aptamer-based biosensor is recognized as an advantageous tool for neonicotinoids detection due to its rapid response, user-friendly nature, cost-effectiveness, and suitability for on-site detection. This comprehensive review represents the inaugural in-depth analysis of advancements in aptamer-based biosensors targeting neonicotinoids such as imidacloprid, thiamethoxam, clothianidin, acetamiprid, thiacloprid, nitenpyram, and dinotefuran. Additionally, the review offers valuable insights into the critical challenges requiring prompt attention for the successful transition from research to practical field applications.

Abstract
Fruit and vegetable freshness testing can improve the efficiency of agricultural product management, reduce resource waste and economic losses, and plays a vital role in increasing the added value of fruit and vegetable agricultural products. At present, the detection of fruit and vegetable freshness mainly relies on manual feature extraction combined with machine learning. However, manual extraction of features has the problem of poor adaptability, resulting in low efficiency in fruit and vegetable freshness detection. Although exist some studies that have introduced deep learning methods to automatically learn deep features that characterize the freshness of fruits and vegetables to cope with the diversity and variability in complex scenes. However, the performance of these studies on fruit and vegetable freshness detection needs to be further improved. Based on this, this paper proposes a novel method that fusion of different deep learning models to extract the features of fruit and vegetable images and the correlation between various areas in the image, so as to detect the freshness of fruits and vegetables more objectively and accurately. First, the image size in the dataset is resized to meet the input requirements of the deep learning model. Then, deep features characterizing the freshness of fruits and vegetables are extracted by the fused deep learning model. Finally, the parameters of the fusion model were optimized based on the detection performance of the fused deep learning model, and the performance of fruit and vegetable freshness detection was evaluated. Experimental results show that the CNN_BiLSTM deep learning model, which fusion convolutional neural network (CNN) and bidirectional long-short term memory neural network (BiLSTM), is combined with parameter optimization processing to achieve an accuracy of 97.76% in detecting the freshness of fruits and vegetables. The research results show that this method is promising to improve the performance of fruit and vegetable freshness detection.

Abstract
To monitor the moisture content of agricultural products in the drying process in real time, this study applied a model combining multi-sensor fusion and convolutional neural network (CNN) to moisture content online detection. This study built a multi-sensor data acquisition platform and established a CNN prediction model with the raw monitoring data of load sensor, air velocity sensor, temperature sensor, and the tray position as input and the weight of the material as output. The model's predictive performance was compared with that of the linear partial least squares regression (PLSR) and nonlinear support vector machine (SVM) models. A moisture content online detection system was established based on this model. Results of the model performance comparison showed that the CNN prediction model had the optimal prediction effect, with the determination coefficient (R2) and root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.9989 and 6.9, respectively, which were significantly better than those of the other two models. Results of validation experiments showed that the detection system met the requirements of moisture content online detection in the drying process of agricultural products. The R2 and RMSE were 0.9901 and 1.47, respectively, indicating the good performance of the model combining multi-sensor fusion and CNN in moisture content online detection for agricultural products in the drying process. The moisture content online detection system established in this study is of great significance for researching new drying processes and realizing the intelligent development of drying equipment. It also provides a reference for online detection of other indexes in the drying process of agricultural products.

Abstract
Introduction Rapid and accurate detection of food-borne pathogens on mutton is of great significance to ensure the safety of mutton and its products and the health of consumers. Objectives The feasibility of short-wave infrared hyperspectral imaging (SWIR-HSI) in detecting the contamination status and species of Escherichia coli (EC), Staphylococcus aureus (SA) and Salmonella typhimurium (ST) contaminated on mutton was explored. Materials and methods The hyperspectral images of uncontaminated and contaminated mutton samples with different concentrations (108, 107, 106, 105, 104, 103 and 102 CFU/mL) of EC, SA and ST were acquired. The one dimensional convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) model was constructed and the influence of structure hyperparameters on the model was explored. The effects of different spectral preprocessing methods on partial least squares-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA), support vector machine (SVM) and 1D-CNN models were discussed. In addition, the feasibility of using the characteristic wavelength to establish simplified models was explored. Results and discussion The best full band model was the 1D-CNN model with the convolution kernels number of (64, 16) and the activation function of tanh established by the original spectra, and its accuracy of training set, test set and external validation set were 100.00, 92.86 and 97.62%, respectively. The optimal simplified model was genetic algorithm optimization support vector machine (GA-SVM). For discriminating the pathogen species, the accuracies of SVM models established by full band spectra preprocessed by 2D and all 1D-CNN models with the convolution kernel number of (32, 16) and the activation function of tanh were 100.00%. In addition, the accuracies of all simplified models were 100.00% except for the 1D-CNN models. Considering the complexity of features and model calculation, the 1D-CNN models established by original spectra were the optimal models for pathogenic bacteria contamination status and species. The simplified models provide basis for developing multispectral detection instruments. Conclusion The results proved that SWIR-HSI combined with machine learning and deep learning could accurately detect the foodborne pathogen contamination on mutton, and the performance of deep learning models were better than that of machine learning. This study can promote the application of HSI technology in the detection of foodborne pathogens on meat.

Abstract
Widespread adoption of machine-picked cotton in China, the impurity content of seed cotton has increased significantly. This impurity content holds direct implications for the valuation of seed cotton and exerts a consequential influence on the ensuing quality of processed lint and textiles. Presently, the primary approach for assessing impurity content in seed cotton primarily depends on semi-automated testing instruments, exhibiting suboptimal detection efficiency and not well-suited for the impurity detection requirements during the purchase of seed cotton. To address this challenge, this study introduces a seed cotton near-infrared spectral (NIRS) data acquisition system, facilitating the rapid collection of seed cotton spectral data. Three pretreatment algorithms, namely SG (Savitzky-Golay convolutional smoothing), SNV (Standard Normal Variate Transformation), and Normalization, were applied to preprocess the seed cotton spectral data. Cotton-Net, a one-dimensional convolutional neural network aligned with the distinctive characteristics of the seed cotton spectral data, was developed in order to improve the prediction accuracy of seed cotton impurity content. Ablation experiments were performed, utilizing SELU, ReLU, and Sigmoid functions as activation functions. The experimental outcomes revealed that after normalization, employing SELU as the activation function led to the optimal performance of Cotton-Net, displaying a correlation coefficient of 0.9063 and an RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) of 0.0546. In the context of machine learning modeling, the LSSVM model, developed after Normalization and Random Frog algorithm processing, demonstrated superior performance, achieving a correlation coefficient of 0.8662 and an RMSE of 0.0622. In comparison, the correlation coefficient of Cotton-Net increased by 4.01%. This approach holds significant potential to underpin the subsequent development of rapid detection instruments targeting seed cotton impurities.

Abstract
Firmness, soluble solid content (SSC) and titratable acidity (TA) are characteristic substances for evaluating the quality of cherry tomatoes. In this paper, a hyper spectral imaging (HSI) system using visible/near-infrared (Vis-NIR) and near-infrared (NIR) was proposed to detect the key qualities of cherry tomatoes. The effects of individual spectral information and fused spectral information in the detection of different qualities were compared for firmness, SSC and TA of cherry tomatoes. Data layer fusion combined with multiple machine learning methods including principal component regression (PCR), partial least squares regression (PLSR), support vector regression (SVR) and back propagation neural network (BP) is used for model training. The results show that for firmness, SSC and TA, the determination coefficient R2 of the multi-quality prediction model established by Vis-NIR spectra is higher than that of NIR spectra. The R2 of the best model obtained by SSC and TA fusion band is greater than 0.9, and that of the best model obtained by the firmness fusion band is greater than 0.85. It is better to use the spectral bands after information fusion for nondestructive quality detection of cherry tomatoes. This study shows that hyperspectral imaging technology can be used for the nondestructive detection of multiple qualities of cherry tomatoes, and the method based on the fusion of two spectra has a better prediction effect for the rapid detection of multiple qualities of cherry tomatoes compared with a single spectrum. This study can provide certain technical support for the rapid nondestructive detection of multiple qualities in other melons and fruits.
