Urban tourist profiles during the pandemic in Taiwan: A multigroup analysis

Participating in tourism activities in crowded areas such as cities during the COVID-19 pandemic represents a risk. This study examined the demographic and psychological features of Taiwanese domestic urban tourists during the pandemic in 2021. The theoretical framework was based on push-pull motivation, self-concordance, and push-pull-mooring theories. The 680 valid questionnaire responses indicated that the respondents were generally interested in domestic urban tourism despite the pandemic threat. Moreover, 187 respondents regarded themselves as urban tourism seekers. Their demographic features were consistent with the typical primary urban tourism market profile: they were young, highly educated, and employed in skilled occupations. In terms of psychological features, the push factors, representing the individuals' intrinsic urban tourism motivations, were more potent than the pull factors, representing a city's tourism opportunities, as motivational drivers for increasing seekers' urban tourism intention during the pandemic. The methodology and findings of this study strengthen the literature on urban tourism and pandemic recovery.

Factors affecting university students switching intention to mobile learning: a push-pull-mooring theory perspective

Adopting technology by its intended users is one of the most important contributors to that technology's success. Therefore, the success of mobile learning (ML) depends on the students' acceptance of the method. Regarding this point, this quantitative research aims to identify factors that affect switching intention to adopt ML among university students in Indonesia based on migration theory, Push-Pull-Mooring (PPM) framework. A theoretical model was developed to examine the determinants that affect students' decision to use ML platforms. This study used an online survey questionnaire to obtain 616 valid responses. A comprehensive analysis of the influence factors of users switching behavior, including the moderating factors, was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Amos software. The results confirmed that the push factor (learning convenience), pull factors (learning autonomy and enjoyment), and mooring factor (student innovativeness) are perceived as significant factors for accepting ML. Concerning the moderating factor, this study also revealed the significance of moderating factor experience in two causal effects of enjoyment and student innovativeness on the students' intention to switch using ML. Furthermore, based on the findings, several recommendations were suggested for the university policy-makers to develop effective strategic plans to get a competitive advantage.

Cross-Countries Comparison Toward Digital Currency Acceptance: Integrating UTAUT2 Into ITM

In the context of digital monetary market integration, the importance of cross-border digital currency research is receiving prominent attention. This study integrated Extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) and initial trust factors (ITM) into an integrative framework, which synthetically complemented the objective measures and subjective insights of digital currencies. The results indicated the integrated framework, which verified its robustness predicting the acceptance and recommendation intention of digital currency. By analyzing the two different features of digital currencies, this research puts forward a set of targeted solutions to ensure that users of Chinese and Korean digital currencies make a long-term policy for the sustainability, eventually benefitting the cross-border digital monetary transactions and economic cooperation in Asia, which leads the world to the sustainable development in the digital currencies field.

Improving the Sustainable Usage Intention of Mobile Payments: Extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology Model Combined With the Information System Success Model and Initial Trust Model

Under the background of global cross-border mobile commerce (m-commerce) integration, the importance of cross-border payment research is becoming increasingly prominent and urgent. The important value of this study is to empirically research the influence power of key elements in using two different mobile payment (m-payment) platforms in Korea. The extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2) has been widely applied in various studies because of its strong interpretive power. In Korea, there are a few empirical studies on Chinese users. Based on a survey of 908 Chinese participants (486 WeChat Pay's Chinese users and 465 Kakao Pay's Korean users) in Korea, this study is one application extending UTAUT2 by incorporating multi-group and multi-model constructs: UTAUT2, information system success (ISS) model, and an initial trust model (ITM), considering a multi-group analysis with some mediating variables (payment difference). By comparing the two different payment platforms' characters, this manuscript provides a set of targeted measures to ensure Chinese WeChat Payment platform decision-makers create effective long-term strategic policies for cross-border m-payments in Korea, and eventually, benefit cross-border m-commerce and economic cooperation in Southeast Asia.
