Communication Apprehension and Psychological Well-Being of Students in Online Learning

Towards the role of apprehension and anxiety as antecedents of EFL students' burnout

How students experience the learning process is of great importance because it affects the enthusiasm they feel during this process. Although many studies have been conducted on apprehension, anxiety, and burnout in both teachers and students, few focus on the relationship between these three variables. To this end, the three variables in this review study are first defined. Then, the relationship between EFL learners' apprehension and their anxiety and burnout is discussed. It seems that the more apprehensive and anxious one feels, the more likely they feel burned out. Finally, the implications of this study and suggestions for further studies are presented.

Physical education and student well-being: Promoting health and fitness in schools

The school students are facing mental health issues, and their performance is not improving in China. Health education policies are not implemented at the school level in China. However, scholars focus on college students' health education, but the school student is neglected. The research's primary objective is to answer the question: What is the impact of health education on the psychological well-being of school students? A sample of 549 10th grade students is collected from China's public and private sector institutes. The partial least square-structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) is employed to analyze the data. The outcomes highlighted that the impact of health education is significant on the psychological well-being of school students in China. Furthermore, the study introduced that the moderating role of sustainable health exercise and sports participation is critical as it positively influences the relationship between health education and psychological wellbeing. This research improves literature as the novel contribution are highlighted in theory. Furthermore, the government education policies must be reframed under the light of this research' findings to improve students' health.

The role of entrepreneurial education in determining actual entrepreneurial behavior: Does TESOL amplified communication apprehension matter?

Since the impression of innovation is at the fundamental of commercial standing, therefore, Industries estimate innovation as their competitive advantage. Resultantly, industries devote a lot of resources understanding the versatile and dynamic nature of innovations and also keep on progressing innovation techniques and strategies. To meet the objectives of the study, we collected data from the students studying in Chinese universities. A survey questionnaire was designed to collect data from university students who were part of the TESOL program. A total of 224 valid questionnaires were used to proceed with the analysis, where descriptive statistics were calculated using SPSS 21, while hypothesis testing was carried out using Mplus 8. Results revealed the facts that both formal and informal education significantly predicted entrepreneurial behavior, while entrepreneurial intention was also found to mediate the relationship between formal and informal education and entrepreneurial behavior. Similarly, as per prediction, TESOL amplified communication apprehension also significantly moderated the relationships of formal and informal education with entrepreneurial behavior.

Encouraging teacher participation in Professional Learning Communities: exploring the Facilitating or restricting factors that Influence collaborative activities

With the ease of using information technology tools, the explosive growth of smartphone applications (apps), and the rise of learning communities on social media, the acceptance of learning communities has become one of the most significant challenges for higher education institutions in Taiwan. In order to better understand teachers' collaborative performance inlearning communities, this study employs the cognitive dimension (opportunism) andinternal tension dimension (e.g. rising expectation, relationship burden) as restrictive factors; on the other hand, it uses emotional support, sense of belonging, and interpersonal altruism as facilitating factors; and community interaction, relationship performance, and collaborative performance as endrogenous factors. With a cross-sectional survey method and a quantitative approach, this study further dives into the collaborative performance of professional learning communities. A total of 157 teachers (87 male and 70 female) were surveyed, and a structural equation modeling approach was used. It was found that social media learning communities have done better than previous courses of field learning in unrestraining learning styles and increasing the breadth of knowledge. Facilitating and restrictive factors led to the rearrangement of the entire knowledge contribution process, enabling new configurations of individuals, members, and community. Moreover, community interactions are important drivers of relationship and collaboration performance supported by empirical data. The findings offer guidelines for policymakers and educators who evaluate teachers' collaborative performance and relationship performance to promote teaching efficiency and effectiveness by incorporating cyberethics in educational activities.

Research on the Mechanism of Influence of Game Competition Mode on Online Learning Performance

With the rapid development of information technology and the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic, online learning has become an important supplement to the teaching organization form of basic education and higher education. In order to increase user stickiness and improve learning performance, gamification elements are widely introduced into online learning situations. However, scholars have drawn different conclusions on the impact of game-based competition on online learning performance. This study is based on field theory and constructivist learning theory. Taking the online interaction of the curriculum platform as the situation, psychological capital as the intermediary variable and connected classroom atmosphere as the adjustment variable, this paper constructs an interaction model between game competition and online learning performance and discusses in depth the intermediary effect of psychological capital and the adjustment effect of a connected classroom atmosphere. The results show that game-based competition has a significant positive effect on learning performance, and the effect of direct competition is better than that of indirect competition; the self-efficacy dimension of psychological capital plays an intermediary role between direct competition and learning performance, and the resilience dimension plays an intermediary role between competition and learning performance; and a connected classroom atmosphere plays a regulating role in the dimensions of game competition, knowledge mastery and knowledge innovation.

The Effect of EFL Teacher Apprehension and Teacher Burnout on Learners’ Academic Achievement

This review aims at investigating the related studies on the role of teacher burnout and teacher apprehension in learners’ academic achievement. The negative effect of teacher burnout on learners’ academic achievement has been corroborated in the review of the literature. Furthermore, the effect of teacher apprehension on learners’ academic success has not been widely studied. However, some stressors such as having insufficient L2 knowledge, cultural differences, and classroom management problems can affect learners’ academic achievements. Finally, the pedagogical implications are illuminated for teachers, administrators, researchers, managers, teacher trainers, and counselors to decrease teacher burnout and apprehension and to develop language teaching quality in the language educational system. Some suggestions for further research are also provided to expand the current literature on teacher burnout and apprehension in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) contexts.
