Abstract
Chemerin is a multifunctional adipokine associated with systemic inflammation, angiogenesis, and oxidative stress. Emerging evidence suggests a potential link between chemerin and the pathogenesis of preeclampsia (PE). In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we aimed to evaluate the serum chemerin levels in women with PE. A systematic search was conducted across Medline, Web of Science, and Embase databases from inception until April 15, 2023, to identify studies comparing serum chemerin levels in pregnant women with and without PE. A random-effects model was employed to pool the results, accounting for heterogeneity. Thirteen datasets from 10 observational studies, encompassing 832 women with PE and 1298 healthy pregnant women, were analyzed. The pooled findings indicated a statistically significant elevation in serum chemerin levels in women with PE compared to controls (mean difference [MD] = 89.56 ng/mL, 95% confidence interval [CI] 62.14 - 116.98; P < 0.001; I2 = 87%). The subgroup analysis revealed consistent findings across studies that measured chemerin levels before or after the diagnosis of PE, studies that did or did not match the body mass index (BMI), and studies with varying quality scores (P values for subgroup differences were all > 0.05). Compared to controls, women with severe PE exhibited a significantly greater increase in serum chemerin levels than those with mild PE (P value for subgroup difference = 0.007). Additionally, meta-regression analysis results suggested that the mean BMI of the included pregnant women might positively modify the difference in circulating chemerin levels between women with and without PE (coefficient = 8.92; P = 0.045). In conclusion, this meta-analysis suggests a positive correlation between elevated serum chemerin levels and PE diagnosis in comparison to pregnant women without the condition.

Abstract
Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is an inflammatory disease of paranasal sinuses. This study is formulated to explore the roles of pro-inflammatory factors Chemerin and interleukin-17 (IL-17) in CRS. Patients suffering from CRS without/with nasal polyps (CRSsNP/CRSwNP), along with volunteers, were recruited. CRS rabbit models were constructed by Staphylococcus aureus infection and rabbits were injected with lentiviral vectors of short hairpin RNA-targeting Chemerin (shChemerin), followed by micro-computed tomography (CT) scan. Levels of Chemerin and IL-17 were determined, and histopathological lesions were observed in subjects and CRS rabbits. Correlations between Chemerin/IL-17 level and Lund-Mackay/Lund-Kennedy scores of subjects and the predictive value of Chemerin or IL-17 for CRS were analyzed. In CRS patients and rabbits, inflammatory degrees and the level of Chemerin/IL-17 were increased in pathological tissues or plasma, while Chemerin silencing alleviated CRS symptoms of CRS rabbits. Chemerin and IL-17 were mainly located in the immune cells of pathological tissues and presented the positive correlation with Lund-Mackay/Lund-Kennedy score of CRS patients. Also, they showed high predictive value for CRS. Micro-CT scan uncovered that CRS rabbits had increased bone remodeling, which was alleviated by Chemerin silencing. Collectively, Chemerin and IL-17 are potential predictors and Chemerin silencing alleviates inflammatory response and bone remodeling in chronic rhinosinusitis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Mutations in isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) induce extensive transcriptional alterations to promote glioma development. However, IDH1 mutation contributes the better clinical outcomes of glioma. Further understanding the transcriptional and DNA methylation changes mediated by IDH1 mutation will provide new therapeutic targets for glioma. METHODS Public glioma cohorts were collected and processed using R software. The transcriptional changes mediated by IDH1 mutation were determined and presented using heatmap. The differentially expressed genes in IDH1 mutant glioma were overlapped using TBtools. The prognostic effects of IDH1 regulated genes were determined by Kaplan-Meier survival analysis. RESULTS Retinoic acid receptor responder 2 (RARRES2) was upregulated in IDH1 wild type lower-grade glioma (LGG) patients, and higher expression levels of RARRES2 were associated with worse clinical outcomes of LGG. Moreover, IDH1 wild type LGG patients with higher expression levels of RARRES2 had even worse overall survival. Compared with LGG, RARRES2 was upregulated in grade IV glioma (glioblastoma multiforme, GBM). Also, RARRES2 represented an unfavorable prognostic factor of glioma. In GBM, RARRES2 was also associated with IDH1 mutation. In both LGG and GBM, IDH1 mutation induced extensive DNA hypermethylation, and more than half genes that were downregulated in IDH1 mutant glioma were contributed by DNA hypermethylation. RARRES2 was also hypermethylated in IDH1 mutant LGG or GBM patients. Furthermore, RARRES2 hypomethylation was an unfavorable prognostic factor in patients with LGG. CONCLUSIONS RARRES2 was downregulated by IDH1 mutation and served as an unfavorable prognostic factor in glioma.

Abstract
Due to their multidirectional influence, adipocytokines are currently the subject of numerous intensive studies. Significant impact applies to many processes, both physiological and pathological. Moreover, the role of adipocytokines in carcinogenesis seems particularly interesting and not fully understood. For this reason, ongoing research focuses on the role of these compounds in the network of interactions in the tumor microenvironment. Particular attention should be drawn to cancers that remain challenging for modern gynecological oncology-ovarian and endometrial cancer. This paper presents the role of selected adipocytokines, including leptin, adiponectin, visfatin, resistin, apelin, chemerin, omentin and vaspin in cancer, with a particular focus on ovarian and endometrial cancer, and their potential clinical relevance.

Abstract
In modern society, inappropriate diets and other lifestyle habits have made obesity an increasingly prominent health problem. Pancreatic cancer (PC), a kind of highly aggressive malignant tumor, is known as a silent assassin and is the seventh leading cause of cancer death worldwide, pushing modern medicine beyond help. Adipokines are coming into notice because of the role of the intermediate regulatory junctions between obesity and malignancy. This review summarizes the current evidence for the relationship between highly concerning adipokines and the pathogenesis of PC. Not only are classical adipokines such as leptin and adiponectin included, but they also cover the recognized chemerin and osteopontin. Through a summary of the biological functions of these adipokines as well as their receptors, it was discovered that in addition to their basic function of stimulating the biological activity of tumors, more studies confirm that adipokines intervene in the progression of PC from the viewpoint of tumor metabolism, immune escape, and reprogramming of the tumor microenvironment (TME). Besides endocrine function, the impact of white adipose tissue (WAT)-induced chronic inflammation on PC is briefly discussed. Furthermore, the potential implication of the acknowledged endocrine behavior of brown adipose tissue (BAT) in relation to carcinogenesis is also explored. No matter the broad spectrum of obesity and the poor prognosis of PC, supplemental research is needed to unravel the detailed network of adipokines associated with PC. Exploiting profound therapeutic strategies that target adipokines and their receptors may go some way to improving the current worrying prognosis of PC patients.

Abstract
Adipose tissue is the main source of adipokines and therefore serves not only as a storage organ, but also has an endocrine effect. Chemerin, produced mainly in adipocytes and liver, is a natural ligand for chemokine-like receptor 1 (CMKLR1), G-protein-coupled receptor 1 (GPR1) and C-C motif chemokine receptor-like 2 (CCRL2), which have been identified in many tissues and organs. The role of this protein is an active area of research, and recent analyses suggest that chemerin contributes to angiogenesis, adipogenesis, glucose homeostasis and energy metabolism. Many studies confirm that this molecule is associated with obesity in both children and adults. We conducted a systematic review of data from published studies evaluating chemerin in children with various disease entities. We searched PubMed to identify eligible studies published prior to February 2022. A total of 36 studies were selected for analysis after a detailed investigation, which was intended to leave only the research studies. Moreover, chemerin seems to play an important role in the development of cardiovascular and digestive diseases. The purpose of this review was to describe the latest advances in knowledge of the role of chemerin in the pathogenesis of various diseases from studies in pediatric patients. The mechanisms underlying the function of chemerin in various diseases in children are still being investigated, and growing evidence suggests that this adipokine may be a potential prognostic biomarker for a wide range of diseases.
