Abstract
The development of ultra-low near-infrared reflectivity coatings with outstanding engineering properties remains a challenge in laser stealth materials research. Herein, we reported a laser stealth coating with outstanding mechanical properties, super-hydrophobicity, and an ultra-low near-infrared reflectivity for 1.06 μm wavelength. The effects of the mass ratio of graphene to nano-SiO2, the proportion of total filler, the addition of KH560, the mass ratio of Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) to acrylic-modified polyurethane (APU), and the addition of dioctyl phthalate (DOP) on the coating properties were thoroughly discussed. The coating can achieve a low reflectivity of 9.3% at 1.06 μm and a high water contact angle of 152° at a mass ratio of 7:3 for PDMS to APU and 6:4 for graphene to nano-SiO2 with a total filler amount of 40 wt%. KH560 can play a bridging role between the blended resin matrix and nano-SiO2, which can significantly improve the impact strength of the coating. The DOP, which contains a polar ester group and a non-polar carbon chain structure, can be inserted between the molecular chains of the resin to weaken the intermolecular force of the resin, so that the flexibility of the coating can be significantly improved. Adding KH560 at 4 wt% and DOP at 1 wt%, resulted in a coating with ultra-low near-infrared reflectivity of 1.06 μm (9.3%), super-hydrophobic properties, outstanding adhesion strength (grade 2), flexibility (2 mm), and impact strength (50 kg cm). The above super-hydrophobic ultra-low near-infrared reflectivity coating has significant potential for use in the field of laser stealth equipment, and it can serve as a useful reference for optimizing the mechanical properties of super-hydrophobic functional coatings.

Abstract
Radiative cooling, which cools an object below its surrounding temperature without any energy consumption, is one of the most promising techniques for zero-energy systems. In principle, the radiative cooling technique reflects incident solar energy and emits its thermal radiation energy into outer space. To achieve maximized cooling performance, it is crucial to attain high spectral reflectance in the solar spectrum (0.3-2.5 μm) and high spectral emittance in the atmospheric window (8-13 μm). Despite the development of various radiative cooling techniques such as photonic crystals and metamaterials, applying the cooling technology in practical applications remains challenging due to its low flexibility and complicated manufacturing processes. Here, we develop a high-performance radiative cooling film using PDMS/TiO2 microparticles. Specifically, the design parameters such as microparticle diameter, microparticle volume fraction, and film thickness are considered through optical analysis. Additionally, we propose a novel fabrication process using low viscosity silicone oil for practical fabrication. The fabricated film accomplishes 67.1 W/m2 of cooling power, and we also analyze the cooling performance difference depending on the fabrication process based on the measurement and optical calculation results.

Abstract
Fouling-release coatings reinforced with micro-alumina and nano-alumina were prepared based on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) containing phenylmethylsilicone oil. The surface properties, mechanical properties, leaching behavior of silicone oil, anti-fouling and drag-reduction performance of the coating were studied. The results show that the addition of alumina can significantly improve the tensile strength, elastic modulus and Shore’s hardness of the coating. The adhesion experiments of marine bacteria and Navicula Tenera show that the addition of alumina can reduce the antifouling performance of the coating, which is related to the stripping mode of fouling organisms. The fouling organisms leave the coating surface by shearing, and the energy required for shearing is proportional to the elastic modulus of the coating. At 800–1400 rpm, the addition of alumina will reduce the drag reduction performance of the coating, which is related to the drag reduction mechanism of PDMS. PDMS counteracts part of the resistance by surface deformation. The larger the elastic modulus is, the more difficult the surface deformation is. The experiment of silicone oil leaching shows that the increase of alumina addition amount and the decrease of particle size will inhibit the leaching of silicone oil.

Abstract
Scaling commonly occurs at pipe wall during landfill leachate collection and transportation, which may give rise to pipe rupture, thus posing harm to public health and environment. To prevent scaling, this study prepared a low surface energy nanocomposite by incorporating silicone-acrylate polymer and hydrophobically modified nano-SiO2 into the high-density polyethylene (HDPE) substrate. Through the characterization of contact angle, scanning electron microscopy and thermogravimetry, the results showed that the prepared composite has low wettability and surface free energy, excellent thermal stability and acid-base resistance. In addition, the prepared composite was compared with the commercial HDPE pipe material regarding their performance on anti-scaling by using an immersion test that places their samples into a simulated landfill leachate. It was apparent that the prepared composite shows better scaling resistance. The study further expects to provide insight into pipe materials design and manufacture, thus to improve landfill leachate collection and transportation.

Fouling Release Coatings Based on Polydimethylsiloxane with the Incorporation of Phenylmethylsilicone Oil. COATINGS 2018. Abstract
In this study, phenylmethylsilicone oil (PSO) with different viscosity was used for research in fouling release coatings based on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). The surface properties and mechanical properties of the coatings were investigated, while the leaching behavior of PSO from the coatings was studied. Subsequently, the antifouling performance of the coatings was investigated by the benthic diatom adhesion test. The results showed that the coatings with high-viscosity PSO exhibited high levels of hydrophobicity and PSO leaching, while the high PSO content significantly decreased the elastic modulus of the coatings and prolonged the release time of PSO. The antifouling results indicated that the incorporation of PSO into coatings enhanced the antifouling performance of the coating by improving the coating hydrophobicity and decreasing the coating elastic modulus, while the leaching of PSO from the coatings improved the fouling removal rate of the coating. This suggests a double enhancement effect on the antifouling performance of fouling release coatings based on PDMS with PSO incorporated.

Abstract
This study was aimed at assessing the effects of silica nanopowder incorporation into chitosan-tripolyphosphate microparticles with the ultimate goal of improving their osteogenic properties. The microparticles were prepared by simple coacervation technique and silica nanopowder was added at 0% (C), 2.5% (S1), 5% (S2) and 10% (S3) (w/w) to chitosan. We observed that this simple incorporation of silica nanopowder improved the growth and proliferation of osteoblasts along the surface of the microparticles. In addition, the composite microparticles also showed the increased expression of alkaline phosphatase and osteoblast specific genes. We observed a significant increase ( p < 0.05) in the expression of alkaline phosphatase by the cells growing on all sample groups compared to the control (C) groups at day 14. The morphological characterization of these microparticles through scanning electron microscopy showed that these microparticles were well suited to be used as the injectable scaffolds with perfectly spherical shape and size. The incorporation of silica nanopowder altered the nano-roughness of the microparticles as observed through atomic force microscopy scans with roughness values going down from C to S3. The results in this study, taken together, show the potential of chitosan-tripolyphosphate-silica nanopowder microparticles for improved bone regeneration applications.
