Abstract
The spontaneous generation of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) within atmospheric microdroplets, such as raindrops and aerosols, plays a crucial role in various environmental processes including pollutant degradation and oxidative stress. However, quantifying hydroxyl radicals (•OH), essential for H2O2 formation, remains challenging due to their short lifespan and low concentration. This study addresses this gap by presenting a highly sensitive and selective surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) nanosensor specifically designed for quantifying •OH within water microdroplets. Utilizing a phthalhydrazide (Phth) probe, the SERS technique enables rapid, interference-free detection of •OH at nanomolar concentrations. It achieves a linear detection range from 2 nM to 2 μM and a limit of detection as low as 0.34 nM. Importantly, the SERS sensor demonstrates robustness and accuracy within water microdroplets, paving the way for comprehensive mechanistic studies of H2O2 generation in the atmosphere. This innovative approach not only offers a powerful tool for environmental research but also holds potential for advancing our understanding of atmospheric H2O2 formation and its impact on air quality and pollutant degradation.

Abstract
Raman spectroscopy recently proved a tremendous capacity to identify disease-specific markers in various (bio)samples being a non-invasive, rapid, and reliable method for cancer detection. In this study, we first aimed to record vibrational spectra of salivary exosomes isolated from oral and oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma patients and healthy controls using surface enhancement Raman spectroscopy (SERS). Then, we assessed this method's capacity to discriminate between malignant and non-malignant samples by means of principal component-linear discriminant analysis (PC-LDA) and we used area under the receiver operating characteristics with illustration as the area under the curve to measure the power of salivary exosomes SERS spectra analysis to identify cancer presence. The vibrational spectra were collected on a solid plasmonic substrate developed in our group, synthesized using tangential flow filtered and concentrated silver nanoparticles, capable of generating very reproducible spectra for a whole range of bioanalytes. SERS examination identified interesting variations in the vibrational bands assigned to thiocyanate, proteins, and nucleic acids between the saliva of cancer and control groups. Chemometric analysis indicated discrimination sensitivity between the two groups up to 79.3%. The sensitivity is influenced by the spectral interval used for the multivariate analysis, being lower (75.9%) when the full-range spectra were used.

Abstract
A series of novel phenomena such as optical nonlinear enhancement effect, transmission enhancement, orientation effect, high sensitivity to refractive index, negative refraction and dynamic regulation of low threshold can be generated by the control of surface plasmon (SP) with metal micro-nano structure and metal/material composite structure. The application of SP in nano-photonics, super-resolution imaging, energy, sensor detection, life science, and other fields shows an important prospect. Silver nanoparticles are one of the commonly used metal materials for SP because of their high sensitivity to refractive index change, convenient synthesis, and high controllable degree of shape and size. In this review, the basic concept, fabrication, and applications of silver-based surface plasmon sensors are summarized.
