Psychological capital research in HEIs: Bibliometric analysis of current and future trends

This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the literature on psychological capital (PsyCap) within higher education institutions (HEIs). Its main objective is to offer an encompassing perspective on this field's current state and potential developments. To achieve this, the study examines present research trends and predicts future directions using a bibliometric approach. A total of 412 journal articles were gathered from the Web of Science database. The analysis identifies influential publications, outlines the knowledge structure, and forecasts future trends through bibliographic coupling and co-word analyses. The bibliographic coupling revealed five distinct clusters, while the co-word analysis identified four clusters. Despite the growing significance of PsyCap research in HEIs, there remains a need for greater academic efforts to comprehend the research landscape fully. This paper provides valuable insights into the expanding area of PsyCap research within HEIs. In conclusion, the study sheds light on the extensive research conducted on PsyCap in the context of HEIs and offers insights into its potential for further growth.

21st anniversary of job embeddedness: A retrospection and future research agenda

BACKGROUND

Since the previous decade, researchers and academics have paid close attention to studying job embeddedness (JE), but the bibliometric examination of JE has not yet been explored.

OBJECTIVE

This study aims to provide general information on the trends of the studies on JE as well as an overall perspective on the development of this topic by utilising a bibliometric analytic approach.

METHOD

A bibliometric evaluation was conducted in the JE field since the first publication was documented in the Scopus database. The information retrieved examines 1572 JE papers from a variety of perspectives, including citation and publishing metrics.

RESULTS

The research results pinpoint the most productive countries, universities, journals, authors, and JE articles. The study also classified the most important themes and offered some recommendations for further research.

CONCLUSION

The study provided a snapshot of JE patterns and trajectories from 1993 to 2020, which can help academics and practitioners figure out the pattern and direction of future research. To the best of our knowledge, no other study examines the bibliographic data on JE and thus this work is one of the first contributions to the literature.

A critical review of HR analytics: visualization and bibliometric analysis approach

Purpose

This study aims to analyze the existing literature in human resource analytics and highlights the future research agenda and trends in the same context. It deals with evaluating regional distribution, identifying key authors, publications, journals and keyword occurrences while examining current literature.

Design/methodology/approach

A total of 127 articles exported from the Scopus database were systematically analyzed using bibliometric analysis through VOSviewer, including performance analysis and science mapping of the literature studied.

Findings

This research postulates the inconsistency between the number of publications and citations received by an author. There was an increase in collaborative research over the years. Human Resource Management Review was regarded as the most influential journal with maximum citation. Maximum publications came from Asian countries. The study revealed that the author with maximum citation were mostly the first authors of the most cited documents.

Practical implications

This research may be beneficial for both researchers and human resource (HR) practitioners because it identifies the research gaps and research needs in the HR analytics domain. Besides, this study recognizes the patterns in HR analytics literature that helps researchers better understand the subject area.

Originality/value

This research incorporates bibliometric analysis for analyzing HR analytics literature to establish a more exhaustive and systematic understanding of the research area. This research contributes to the existing body of literature and assists fellow researchers in future studies.

Mapping the Field of Value Chain: A Bibliometric and Visualization Analysis

In recent years, the interest in academic research in the field of the value chain has increased rapidly. However, there is a lack of bibliometric and visualization research on this subject. This paper aims to analyze the main trends of the value chain in multidomain-related literature in the past decade. Thus, we used bibliometric 2002 documents data from the Scopus to generate figures like the trend, co-occurrence and proportion of the value chain by using Rstudio and VOSviewer. The results not only explained the main modern trends under the time series, but also showed the evolution of the development of the theme of the value chain. Additionally, the paper also determines the impact of the value chain in different journals and documents and analyzes the impact of themes, countries and keywords on the publication of the value chain literature. After identifying the most popular themes and keywords in the past decade, we predicted the trend and direction of future value chain research. Due to the lack of literature for data analysis on value-chain-related innovation, this study is a unique contribution to the literature on the measurement method as a supplement. This study also provides a visual and schematic framework for the relevant research in the field of the value chain and summarizes the trend and trajectory. This may help researchers understand the current trend of the research on the value chain and grasp the future research direction.

Challenges for Corporate Reputation—Online Reputation Management in Times of Global Pandemic

The issue of corporate reputation management in the time of accelerated digitization has been a subject of research by academics and practitioners for more than a decade. The aim of this study was to provide an insight into the issue of reputation management in the Internet environment in the time of global pandemic. As for the structure of the research, the study mapped two horizons of events, the first one being the onset of the pandemic in the first half of 2020, and the second one the period of cancellation of antipandemic measures after 24 months. The research was localized in the market of Central Europe, specifically in the online market of the Slovak Republic. This market synthesized two important factors, namely the highly developmental nature and at the same time the increased degree of restraint it experienced during the two years of the pandemic. A sophisticated online reputation analysis (sentiment analysis, analysis of reputation determinants, and data synthesis through the TOR indicator) was performed on a significant sample of e-commerce representatives, the results of which provided relevant findings on reputational challenges and reputational threats. Based on the findings, it can be stated that the market has adapted relatively quickly to the changed conditions. The pandemic represented a market opportunity rather than an existential threat for the subjects examined. It also played the role of an imaginary accelerator in the evolutionary transition from offline to online.

Trends and patterns in pro-environmental behaviour research: a bibliometric review and research agenda

Purpose

The paper aims to analyse the current trends and set the future research agenda for pro-environmental behaviour (PEB) research.

Design/methodology/approach

The bibliographic data on pro-environmental behaviour research have been extracted from the Scopus database.

Findings

Based on the analysis of 2,173 publications, the study presents a performance overview of PEB research in the perspective of different aspects such as the most influential publications, authors, institutes and countries. Also, the study visualises the intellectual network by mapping bibliographic coupling (BC) and co-citation.

Originality/value

The study provides a holistic view of trends and future research directions for PEB research based on performance and science mapping, which is a unique contribution to the literature.

A bibliometric reflection on the history of green human resource management research

Purpose

This paper aims to analyze the regional distribution, size and evolution of the knowledge base by identifying key authors, documents, keywords and journals while examining current literature and intellectual structure, and highlight topical trends of green human resource management (GHRM) research.

Design/methodology/approach

As scholarly interest in the environment has grown, a new research focus in the discipline of human resource management (HRM) has emerged. The term GHRM was coined to describe how HRM may contribute to environmental outcomes. This scholarly focus has led to an increasing number of publications in this field. To analyze the intellectual structure of the GHRM research, a bibliometric technique is used.

Findings

The findings revealed a knowledge base that is still in the new phase, with a global scope, but most scholarly work is concentrated in Asian societies. By presenting an overview of the present state of the knowledge base, this study intends to lead a new generation of GHRM scholars.

Originality/value

To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first study of its kind, which probes the bibliometric reflection on green human resource management research history.

Size of Business Unit as a Factor Influencing Adoption of Digital Marketing: Empirical Analysis of SMEs Operating in the Central European Market

The issue of using marketing communication tools in the internet environment is quite extensive. Innovation of the usual procedures is usually influenced by market development. The presented study examines selected factors that may affect the acceptance of digital marketing tools in business practice in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The aim of the study is to answer the basic question of whether company size influences the willingness to adopt online marketing tools within the usual communication mix. Based on a thorough empirical analysis performed on a sample of companies operating in the Central European market, it can be stated that company size does not play a role in adopting online marketing tools. Most organizations, regardless of their size, still have reservations about investing in digital marketing. On the other hand, previous experience is a key determinant to perceive the benefits of using the internet for business purposes. Organizations actively using online marketing tools evaluate their contribution to their business very positively. It is a well-known fact that product testing significantly increases the degree of its acceptance. This knowledge is one of the key starting points in traditional marketing. Obviously, this assumption needs to be taken into account in both physical and digital environments. At the same time, it should be noted that the application of the basic online marketing tools in business practice is a prerequisite for all subsequent online activities.

Finance for the Environment: A Scientometrics Analysis of Green Finance

To protect environmental sustainability, organizations are moving their focus towards greening the business process. Similarly to any other business function, financial management has also turned to environmentally friendly activities. Green finance is a new financial pattern that integrates environmental protection and economic profits. This paper analyses the publications on green finance, and their intellectual structure and networking. The bibliometric data on green finance research have been extracted from the Scopus database. This study finds the most productive countries, universities, authors, journals, and most prolific publications in green finance, through examining the published works. Also, the study visualizes the intellectual network by mapping bibliographic coupling (BC) and co-citation. The study’s essential contribution is the analysis of green finance developments and trajectories that can help scholars and practitioners to appreciate the trend and future studies.
