Dynamical analysis of a network-based SIR model with saturated incidence rate and nonlinear recovery rate: an edge-compartmental approach

A new network-based SIR epidemic model with saturated incidence rate and nonlinear recovery rate is proposed. We adopt an edge-compartmental approach to rewrite the system as a degree-edge-mixed model. The explicit formula of the basic reproduction number $ \mathit{\boldsymbol{R_{0}}} $ is obtained by renewal equation and Laplace transformation. We find that $ \mathit{\boldsymbol{R_{0}}} < 1 $ is not enough to ensure global asymptotic stability of the disease-free equilibrium, and when $ \mathit{\boldsymbol{R_{0}}} > 1 $, the system can exist multiple endemic equilibria. When the number of hospital beds is small enough, the system will undergo backward bifurcation at $ \mathit{\boldsymbol{R_{0}}} = 1 $. Moreover, it is proved that the stability of feasible endemic equilibrium is determined by signs of tangent slopes of the epidemic curve. Finally, the theoretical results are verified by numerical simulations. This study suggests that maintaining sufficient hospital beds is crucial for the control of infectious diseases.

Scrutinization of finite time stability of fractional impulsive neutral model with disturbance

Finite time stability practically examines the trajectories of a system which converge to equilibrium state in a short period of time. This notion requires predefined bounds on system parameters and bounded time interval. Considering the idea that many practical system often operates over time interval being finite rather than infinite, we explore the finite time stability concept of damped fractional system with neutral conditions and impulsive effects. The desired bounds for the stability of the system is derived by implementing Gronwall's inequality conditions. Further, the finite time stability conditions of the proposed fractional linear model is extended to nonlinearity term with disturbance. Finally, numerical simulations are given to show the effectiveness of the derived results.

Finite-time contraction stability of a stochastic reaction-diffusion dengue model with impulse and Markov switching

From the perspective of prevention and treatment of dengue, it is important to minimize the number of infections within a limited time frame. That is, the study of finite time contraction stability (FTCS) of dengue system is a meaningful topic. This article proposes a dengue epidemic model with reaction-diffusion, impulse and Markov switching. By constructing an equivalent system, the well-posedness of the positive solution is proved. The main result is that sufficient conditions to guarantee the finite time contraction stability of the dengue model are acquired based on the average pulse interval method and the bounded pulse interval method. Furthermore, the numerical findings indicate the influences of impulse, control strategies and noise intensity on the FTCS.

The dynamics of novel corona virus disease via stochastic epidemiological model with vaccination

During the past two years, the novel coronavirus pandemic has dramatically affected the world by producing 4.8 million deaths. Mathematical modeling is one of the useful mathematical tools which has been used frequently to investigate the dynamics of various infectious diseases. It has been observed that the nature of the novel disease of coronavirus transmission differs everywhere, implying that it is not deterministic while having stochastic nature. In this paper, a stochastic mathematical model has been investigated to study the transmission dynamics of novel coronavirus disease under the effect of fluctuated disease propagation and vaccination because effective vaccination programs and interaction of humans play a significant role in every infectious disease prevention. We develop the epidemic problem by taking into account the extended version of the susceptible-infected-recovered model and with the aid of a stochastic differential equation. We then study the fundamental axioms for existence and uniqueness to show that the problem is mathematically and biologically feasible. The extinction of novel coronavirus and persistency are examined, and sufficient conditions resulted from our investigation. In the end, some graphical representations support the analytical findings and present the effect of vaccination and fluctuated environmental variation.

Stability analysis of multi-point boundary conditions for fractional differential equation with non-instantaneous integral impulse

This paper considers the stability of a fractional differential equation with multi-point boundary conditions and non-instantaneous integral impulse. Some sufficient conditions for the existence, uniqueness and at least one solution of the aforementioned equation are studied by using the Diaz-Margolis fixed point theorem. Secondly, the Ulam stability of the equation is also discussed. Lastly, we give one example to support our main results. It is worth pointing out that these two non-instantaneous integral impulse and multi-point boundary conditions factors are simultaneously considered in the fractional differential equations studied for the first time.
