Numerical Study of Cattaneo–Christov Heat Flux on Water-Based Carreau Fluid Flow over an Inclined Shrinking Sheet with Ternary Nanoparticles

Due to their capacity to create better thermal conductivity than standard nanofluids, hybrid nano-fluids and modified nanofluids have notable applications in aerospace, energy materials, thermal sensors, antifouling, etc. This study aims to the modified and hybrid nanofluid flow with the Carreau fluid over a sloped shrinking sheet. The Cattaneo–Christov heat flux also takes into account. To determine the thermal efficiency of the heat, three different kinds of nanomaterials, copper oxide (CuO), copper (Cu), and alumina (Al2O3), are used. The similarity alteration commutes the insolubility of the model into ODEs. The conclusions are attained by program writing in MATLAB software and dealing with them through the bvp4c solver with the shooting method. The skin-friction amount decreases with the inclined sheet and local Weissenberg parameter for both modified and hybrid nanofluid. An upsurge thermal relaxation parameter declines the skin-friction coefficient for modified nanofluid flow and increases the skin-friction coefficient for hybrid nanofluid flow. The heat transfer rate is upsurged with modified and hybrid nanofluid for thermal relaxation parameter. Furthermore, the presentation includes the development of skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number values for specific parameters. Through benchmarking, numerical solutions are validated using certain limiting situations that were previously published findings, and typically solid correlation is shown.

A sensitivity analysis of MHD nanofluid flow across an exponentially stretched surface with non-uniform heat flux by response surface methodology

The current study investigates the MHD flow of nanofluid across an elongating surface while taking into account non-uniform heat flux. For this, we have considered the flow of a boundary layer over a stretched sheet containing (water-based) Al₂O₃ nanoparticles. The convective boundary conditions for temperature have been invoked. The flow created by a surface that is exponentially expanding in the presence of a magnetic field and a non-uniform heat flux has been mathematically formulated by using laws of conservation. Transformed non-dimensional systems of governing equations have been analyzed numerically by using Adam’s Bashforth predictor corrector approach. The effects of emerging parameters on the fluid velocity and temperature profiles have been further described by plotting graphs. An experimental design and a sensitivity analysis based on Response Surface Methodology (RSM) are used to examine the effects of various physical factors and the dependence of the response factors of interest on the change of the input parameter. To establish the model dependencies of the output response variables, which include the skin friction coefficient and the local Nusselt number, on the independent input parameters, which include the magnetic field parameter, the nanoparticle volume fraction, and the heat transfer Biot number, RSM is used. Further, it is concluded that the sensitivity of the SFC, as well as the LNN through heat transfer Biot number, is greater than that of nanoparticle volume fraction and magnetic field parameter. The SFC is sensitive to all combinations of the input parameters. At high levels of heat transfer Biot number, the LNN displays negative sensitivity via magnetic field parameters.

Recent Development of Heat and Mass Transport in the Presence of Hall, Ion Slip and Thermo Diffusion in Radiative Second Grade Material: Application of Micromachines

This article describes the incompressible two-dimensional heat and mass transfer of an electrically conducting second-grade fluid flow in a porous medium with Hall and ion slip effects, diffusion thermal effects, and radiation absorption effects. It is assumed that the fluid is a gray, absorbing-emitting but non-scattering medium and the Rosseland approximation is used to describe the radiative heat flux in the energy equation. It is assumed that the liquid is opaque and absorbs and emits radiation in a manner that does not result in scattering. It is considered an unsteady laminar MHD convective rotating flow of heat-producing or absorbing second-grade fluid across a semi-infinite vertical moving permeable surface. The profiles of velocity components, temperature distribution, and concentration are studied to apply the regular perturbation technique. These profiles are shown as graphs for various fluid and geometric parameters such as Hall and ion slip parameters, radiation absorption, diffusion thermo, Prandtl number, Schmidt number, and chemical reaction rate. On the other hand, the skin friction coefficient and the Nusselt number are determined by numerical evaluation and provided in tables. These tables are then analysed and debated for various values of the flow parameters that regulate it. It may be deduced that an increase in the parameters of radiation absorption, Hall, and ion slip over the fluid region increases the velocity produced. The resulting momentum continually grows to a very high level, with contributions from the thermal and solutal buoyancy forces. The temperature distribution may be more concentrated by raising both the heat source parameter and the quantity of radiation. When one of the parameters for the chemical reaction is increased, the whole fluid area will experience a fall in concentration. Skin friction may be decreased by manipulating the rotation parameter, but the Hall effect and ion slip effect can worsen it. When the parameter for the chemical reaction increases, there is a concomitant rise in the mass transfer rate.

Kinetics of viscous fluid with variable characteristics of fluid having solid body rotation over a permeable disk (having cylindrical geometry) are analyzed. We transformed the governing equations of heat transfer (accompanied by variable properties) and fluid motion in to self-similar non-dimensional differential equations by using the Von-Karman variables which are then further analyzed numerically by utilizing Adams Bashforth method. For a physical insight, results are manifested to scrutinize the behavior of velocity and temperature profiles for different emerging parameters graphically. Moreover, the values of nusselt number & skin friction co-efficient are also computed and physically explicated for the assorted parameters. Outcomes of current investigations are compared with prior work, to ensure the authenticity of the numerical method, and strong agreement is noted.
