2,3-Dihydro-Quinazolin-4(1H)-One as a Fluorescent Sensor for Hg2+ Ion and its Docking Studies in Cancer Treatment

The 2,3-dihydro-quinazolin-4(1H)-one was synthesised via the deployment of SBA-Pr-SO3H and its application was explored as a highly selective fluorescent sensor for Hg2+ ion; fluorescence intensity was decreased selectively by Hg2+ ions. Furthermore, this compound also indicated for its superb anti-interference ability among other ions. It is important to mention that this compound could be employed to detect a very low amount of Hg2+ ions, which are highly toxic and general contaminants. The docking study shows that the molecule, 2,3-dihydro-quinazolin-4(1H)-one, is a good inhibitor for the 5ACC enzyme.

Synthesis of SBA-Pr-NHC as a selective fluorescent sensor for the detection of Ag+ ion in aqueous media

SBA-Pr-NHC as a novel silica-based chemosensor was synthesized through the functionalization of mesoporous silica SBA-15 material with 4-hydroxy-2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carbaldehyde, which was successfully immobilized to the surface of mesoporous silica, and its hexagonal mesoporous structure has been preserved. Photoluminescence spectroscopy was applied to study the sensing behavior of SBA-Pr-NHC, which displayed high selectivity for sensing Ag⁺ ion in aqueous media. After the addition of trace amounts of Ag⁺ ions into the aqueous solution, a significant enhancement of fluorescence emission has occurred with the detection limits of 2.4 × 10^-5 M.

Multicomponent Synthesis and Investigations Fluorescence Activity of Chromenone-Pyrazole Compounds

A synthetic method is described to produce some chromenone-pyrazole derivatives through a one-pot multicomponent reaction using SrFe₁₂O₁₉ as a magnetic catalyst. This method provides quite a few merits, including the use of an effective and easy separable nanocatalyst, high yields of products, short reaction time, and easy work-up. Two of the products showed fluorescence properties, which have detected mercury ions without any interference with other ions. They can detect a tiny amount of mercury ions, which were comparable with other chemosensors. The detection limit is 4 × 10^-7 and 3 × 10^-8 M, respectively, for the compound I and II, respectively, which were considered very low amounts. The effect of mercury on health and environmental pollution is essential in medical science.
