β-Bi2O3 Nanosheets Functionalized with Bisphenol A Synthetic Receptors: A Novel Material for Sensitive Photoelectrochemical Platform Construction

Target-regulated photoactivities of CdS/Ni-MOF heterojunction with [Ru(bpy)2dppz]2+ intercalator: a bisphenol A photoelectrochemical aptasensor

Bisphenol A (BPA), an important endocrine disrupting compound, has infiltrated human daily lives through electronic devices, food containers, and children's toys. Developing of novel BPA assay methods with high sensitivity holds tremendous importance in valuing the pollution state. Here, we constructed an ultrasensitive photoelectrochemical (PEC) aptasensor for BPA determination by regulating photoactivities of CdS/Ni-based metal-organic framework (CdS/Ni-MOF) with [Ru(bpy)2dppz]2+ sensitizer. CdS/Ni-MOF spheres exhibited excellent photocatalytic performance, serving as a potential sensing platform for the construction of target recognition process. [Ru(bpy)2dppz]2+ were embedded into DNA double-stranded structure, functioning as sensitizer for modulating the signal response of the developed PEC aptasensor. The proposed PEC sensor exhibited outstanding analytical performances, including a wide linear range (0.1 to 1000.0 nM), low detection limit (0.026 nM, at 3σ/m), excellent selectivity, and high stability. This work provides a perspective for the design of ideal photosensitive materials and signal amplification strategies and extends their application in environment analysis.

A dual-mode "signal-on" split-type aptasensor for bisphenol A via target-induced hybridization chain reaction amplification

Herein, a dual-mode detection system was constructed for efficient and accurate detection of bisphenol A (BPA) with the assistance of the BPA-induced hybridization chain reaction (HCR). The captured DNA (cDNA) was first modified on the surface of magnetic spheres modified with gold nanoparticles and polydopamine and then hybridized with the BPA aptamer to form double-stranded DNA (dsDNA). In the presence of the BPA target, the BPA aptamer was released from the surface of the magnetic sphere. The free cDNA triggered a HCR to construct a DNA duplex. Methylene blue (MB), as a bifunctional probe, was intercalated into the double-stranded DNA to amplify the photocurrent (IPEC) of the CdS-modified electrode and generate an electrochemical current (IEC) at the same time. Under the optimized conditions, the PEC and EC signal responses of the system were linear to the logarithm of BPA concentration in the range of 1.0 × 10-10 M to 1.0 × 10-5 M. The detection limits were found to be 1.27 × 10-11 M and 3.0 × 10-11 M using the PEC and EC methods, respectively. The constructed dual-mode biosensor exhibited good performance for real sample analysis, demonstrating its promising potential for practical applications. In addition, this dual-mode detection strategy provides more accurate and reliable detection results.

Carbon Nanotube-Supported Dummy Template Molecularly Imprinted Polymers for Selective Adsorption of Amide Herbicides in Aquatic Products

In this study, a carbon nanotube (CNTs)-supported dummy template molecularly imprinted polymer (DMIPs) material was synthesized and utilized for the detection of amide herbicides in aquatic products via matrix solid-phase dispersion technology (MSPD). The DMIPs material was characterized, and its adsorption kinetics and isotherm were determined, the adsorption model was established, and the selective adsorption coefficient was calculated. The extract parameters of the method were optimized and successfully employed for the separation, analysis and detection of real samples, with satisfactory detection limits and linear ranges obtained. By comparing with other methods, the CNTs@DMIPs combined with MSPD technology established in our study can effectively solve false negative problems caused by insufficient destructive force, using dummy template molecules can also address the issue of false positives caused by template molecule leakage in molecular imprinting. Overall, the method is appropriate for the separation and detection of endogenous substances from highly viscous and poorly dispersed samples and is used as a routine detection tool in the aquaculture industry.
