Abstract
Solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) are effective solutions for the development of high-performance and flexible lithium metal batteries (LMBs). However, the key problems of SPEs including low ionic conductivity and inability to repair damage have hindered their industrialization process. In this work, a three-dimensional (3D) cross-linked network gel polymer electrolyte (CNGPE) is designed. The addition of deep eutectic solvent (DES) improves the ionic conductivity of CNGPE. The hydrogen bonds and dynamic disulfide bonds in the 3D cross-linked network endow CNGPE rapid self-healing ability at ambient temperature. In addition, the addition of lithium difluoro(oxalato)borate (LiDFOB) and lithium nitrate (LiNO3) helps to form a stable solid electrolyte interface (SEI). Due to the ingenious design, the Li/CNGPE/Li symmetrical cell exhibits excellent interface stability and no short circuit occurs for more than 800 h. The assembled LiFePO4/CNGPE/Li cell exhibits a discharge specific capacity of 126 mAh g-1 after 960 cycles at 0.5C. This work has shown that the self-healing gel polymer electrolyte containing DES provides an effective and feasible method for the development of high-performance LMBs.

Abstract
Water-based chloroprene latex is a solvent-free, environmentally friendly adhesive. Currently, its market demand is growing rapidly. However, there are problems such as a lack of heat resistance and poor mechanical properties, which limit its application. The introduction of vinyl-POSS (OVS) into the resin structure can effectively improve the thermal stability of chloroprene adhesives. In this paper, modified waterborne chloroprene latex was prepared by copolymerization of methyl methacrylate and OVS with chloroprene latex. The results showed that vinyl-POSS was successfully grafted onto the main chain of the waterborne chloroprene latex, and the modified waterborne chloroprene latex had good storage stability. With the increase in vinyl-POSS, the tensile strength of the chloroprene latex firstly increased and then decreased, the tensile property (peel strength of 20.2 kgf) was maintained well at a high temperature (100 °C), and the thermal stability of the chloroprene latex was improved. When the addition amount was 4%, the comprehensive mechanical properties were their best. This study provides a new idea for the construction of a new and efficient waterborne chloroprene latex system and provides more fields for the practical application of waterborne chloroprene latex. This newly developed vinyl-POSS modified chloroprene latex has great application potential for use in home furniture, bags, and seat cushions.

Abstract
Bacterial infections are a hurdle to the application of medical devices, and in the United States alone, more than one million infection cases are reported annually from indwelling medical devices. Infections not only affect the function of medical devices but also risk the lives and health of patients. Nitric oxide (NO) has been used as an antibacterial therapy that kills bacteria without causing resistance and provides many therapeutic effects such as anti-inflammation, antithrombosis, and angiogenesis. Silicone oils have been widely utilized in manufacturing consumer goods, healthcare products, and medical products. Specifically, liquid silicone oils are used as a medical lubricant that creates lubricated interfaces between medical devices and the exterior physiological environment to improve the performance of medical devices. Herein, we report the first primary S-nitrosothiol-based NO-releasing silicone oil (RSNO-Si) that exhibits proactive antibacterial effects. S-nitrosothiol silicone oils (RSNO-Si) were synthesized and the NO payloads ranged from 34.0 to 603.9 μM. The increased NO payload induced higher-viscosity RSNO-Si oils, as RSNO0.1-Si, RSNO0.5-Si, and RSNO1-Si had viscosities of 12.8 ± 0.1 cP, 32.0 ± 0.2 cP, and 35.1 ± 0.3 cP, respectively. RSNO-Si-SR interfaces were fabricated by infusing silicone rubber (SR) in RSNO-Si oil, and the resulting RSNO-Si-SR disks demonstrated NO release without NO donor leaching. RSNO0.1-Si-SR, RSNO0.5-Si-SR, and RSNO1-Si-SR exhibited maximum NO flux at 0.8, 6.5, and 21.5 × 10 -10 mol cm-2 min-1 in 24 h, respectively. RSNO-Si-SR disks also demonstrated 97.45, 95.40, and 96.08% of inhibition against S. aureus in a 4 h bacterial adhesion assay. Considering the easy synthesis, simple fabrication of non-leaching NO-releasing interfaces, tunable payloads, NO flux levels, and antimicrobial effects, RSNO-Si oils exhibited their potential use as platform chemicals for creating antimicrobial medical device surfaces and other antibacterial materials.

Abstract
Tetra(3-mercaptopropyl)-silsesquioxanes with double-decker (DDSQ) or ladder nano-cores were easily prepared from the corresponding tetraallyl derivatives through fast and convenient thiol-ene reactions. An additional tetrathiol-DDSQ with more flexible arms was also synthesized in high yield from the corresponding tetrachloro-DDSQ derivative. The three novel tetrathiol silsesquioxanes described represent versatile building blocks for the preparation of hybrid organic-inorganic materials.

Abstract
In this work, polyethylene (PE) composites were prepared with a series of completely condensed silsesquioxanes (SSQ), as well as with open-cage hepta(isobutyl)trisilanol silsesquioxane. The effect of the additives on the thermal, mechanical, rheological, and crystalline properties of the composites obtained was determined. The dispersion of trisilanol derivative within polymer matrix was slightly better than that of the other isobutyl compounds, suggesting condensation of the additive to less polar products of different structure, which was confirmed by thermogravimetry (TG) and matrix-assisted laser desorption-ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry analysis. The additives improved the thermal stability of polyethylene and formed composites of higher rigidity than the neat polyolefin. The results were compared to the literature data, with aminopropylhepta(isobutyl)silsesquioxane and vinylhepta(isobutyl)silsesquioxane being used partially as references, as PE composites thereof were reported earlier, but lacked some analytical results and required further investigation. It was proven that the practical upper loading limit for such silsesquioxane compounds as processing and functional additives for polyethylene should be fixed at around 1%.
