A Fuzzy Logic Approach and Path Algorithm for Time and Energy Management of Smart Cleaning Robots

Smart home technologies (SHM) or devices provide some degree of digitally connected, automated, or enhanced services to building occupants in residential areas and have been becoming increasingly popular in recent years. SHM have the potential to improve home comfort, convenience, security and energy management. Different technologies are used to equip household parts for smarter monitoring, movement and remote control and to allow effective harmonic interaction between them. Especially, energy management and path-planning algorithms are some of the important problems for such technologies to get optimum efficiency and benefit. Smart vacuum cleaning robot is one of the applications of such devices with various functions. These cleaning robots have limited battery power and battery sizes, thus effective cleaning is critical. Additionally, the shortest / optimal path planning is essential for the efficient operation of effective cleaning based on the battery time. In this article, two distinct algorithms, which are Search algorithm and CSP algorithm are utilized to obtain distinct optimal minimum path lengths for keeping the home's total dirt level as low as possible. Depending on various types of linguistic, abstract, or perceptual variables, these algorithms are not enough for the energy management of the battery. Therefore, the fuzzy logic-based inference system is proposed for obtaining the charge durability of battery of the cleaning robot, in addition to these algorithms. The inputs affecting the charge durability are considered as floor type, dirt level and the width of area for the fuzzy approach.

Integration of Electric Vehicles and Energy Storage System in Home Energy Management System with Home to Grid Capability

In this paper, we proposed a home energy management system (HEMS) that includes photovoltaic (PV), electric vehicle (EV), and energy storage systems (ESS). The proposed HEMS fully utilizes the PV power in operating domestic appliances and charging EV/ESS. The surplus power is fed back to the grid to achieve economic benefits. A novel charging and discharging scheme of EV/ESS is presented to minimize the energy cost, control the maximum load demand, increase the battery life, and satisfy the user’s-traveling needs. The EV/ESS charges during low pricing periods and discharges in high pricing periods. In the proposed method, a multi-objective problem is formulated, which simultaneously minimizes the energy cost, peak to average ratio (PAR), and customer dissatisfaction. The multi-objective optimization is solved using binary particle swarm optimization (BPSO). The results clearly show that it minimizes the operating cost from 402.89 cents to 191.46 cents, so that a reduction of 52.47% is obtained. Moreover, it reduces the PAR and discomfort index by 15.11% and 16.67%, respectively, in a 24 h time span. Furthermore, the home has home to grid (H2G) capability as it sells the surplus energy, and the total cost is further reduced by 29.41%.

Design and development of human resource management computer system for enterprise employees

Client-Server (C/S) application is always used in the existing Human Resource Management System (HRMS) as the system architecture, which has the problems of complex maintenance and poor compatibility; and cannot use professional database and development system, making the system development difficult and the data security low. To solve the above problems, the overall demand is analyzed, as well as feasibility and key technologies of the enterprise HRMS system. Then a HRMS is designed and developed, based on the user’s key functional requirements and related technologies, which is reasonable and easy to maintain. The system is supported by Browser-Server (B/S) structure, with the current popular Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE) multi-level structure as the overall architecture. The mature Microsoft SQL Server 2008 introduced by Microsoft is used as the database platform. Combined with Model View Controller (MVC) design pattern, this system can be used by users without geographical restrictions and system maintenance. In this system, performance logic and business logic are separated, which makes it convenient for the development and maintenance of the system. The system mainly includes six modules: personnel management, organizational management, recruitment management, training management, salary management and system management, which integrates enterprise information and realizes the functions of easy access and easy query of information database. Its interface is simple, easy to understand, and easy to operate, with low investment, low cost, high safety, good performance and easy maintenance, which help to improve the work efficiency and modern management level of enterprises. In the end, the operation performance of the system is tested. The results show that the throughput of the main functional modules in the system is greater than 100 times/s when dealing with the business, and the success rate of event processing is greater than 99%. The average response time of the business end is less than 0.4 s, and the average response time of the terminal side is less than 0.5 s, which all meet the standards. System CPU occupancy rate can be basically controlled below 30%, and memory usage rate is below 30%. In summary, the system designed here has the basic functions but also to ensure good performance, suitable for enterprise personnel management, organizational management, recruitment management, training management and salary management. The design and development of this system aims to provide technical support for the service quality of enterprise human resource management business, to improve the overall efficiency, promote the pace of enterprise strategic development, and enhance the market competitiveness of enterprises.

Fuzzy Mathematics-Based Outer-Loop Control Method for Converter-Connected Distributed Generation and Storage Devices in Micro-Grids

The modern changes in electric systems present new issues for control strategies. When power converters and distributed energy resources are included in the micro-grid, its model is more complex than the simplified representations used, sometimes losing essential data. This paper proposes a unified fuzzy mathematics-based control method applied to the outer loop of a voltage source converter (VSC) in both grid-connected and islanded modes to avoid using simplified models in complex micro-grids and handle the uncertain and non-stationary behaviour of nonlinear systems. The proposed control method is straightforwardly designed without simplifying the controlled system. This paper explains the design of a fuzzy mathematics-based control method applied to the outer-loop of a VSC, a crucial device for integrating renewable sources and storage devices in a micro-grid. Simulation results validated the novel control strategy, demonstrating its capabilities for real field applications.

Design of English hierarchical online test system based on machine learning

Large amount of data are exchanged and the internet is turning into twenty-first century Silk Road for data. Machine learning (ML) is the new area for the applications. The artificial intelligence (AI) is the field providing machines with intelligence. In the last decades, more developments have been made in the field of ML and deep learning. The technology and other advanced algorithms are implemented into more computational constrained devices. The online English test system based on ML breaks the shackles of the traditional paper English test and improves the efficiency of the English test. At the same time, it also maintains the fairness of English test and improves the marking speed. In order to realize an online English test system based on ML and facilitate the assessment of students’ college English courses, this paper mainly adopts relevant research and design on the main functional modules, key technologies, and functional realization of the online English test. The brand-new powerful teaching software and the online examination system can help schools to conduct more systematic and scientific management.
