Investigating Factors Influencing the Behavioral Intention of Online Duty-Free Shop Users

Investor intention, investor behavior and crypto assets in the framework of decomposed theory of planned behavior

The interest in crypto assets, known as an extremely volatile, risky and digital currency that first emerged in 2009, continued to increase day by day. Crypto assets, especially Bitcoin, have become very valuable and are now seen as an investment tool. Online survey data of 1,222 individuals were used in the study. The data were analyzed through the structural equation model. With the Decomposed Theory of Planned Behavior used in the research, the dimensions affecting Attitude, Subjective Norms, Perceived Behavioral Control variables and the effect of Intention on the behavior of investors, namely crypto asset investment, were investigated. According to the Standardized Regression Weights, a one-unit change in attitude affects intention 0.822, a one-unit change in subjective norms 0.048, and a one-unit change in perceived behavioral control affects intention 0.117. In addition, it has been concluded that the most important determinant of the actual behavior that reveals the investment is the intention with 0.754, while the PBC effect is 0.144. The study is a comprehensive study on crypto asset investments in Turkey, a developing country. It is aimed that the results obtained will contribute to researchers, crypto asset companies, policy makers and researchers who want to increase their market share in the sector.

Analysis of the extrinsic and intrinsic aspects of the technology acceptance model associated with the learning management system during the COVID-19 pandemic

Purpose

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of extrinsic aspects of the technology acceptance model, namely, information quality, functionality, accessibility, user interface design, system quality, functionality, facilitating conditions and computer playfulness as well as intrinsic aspects, namely, perceived self-efficacy, enjoyment and learning goals. orientation on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use in the context of the learning management system (LMS) as a system to support employee learning and development. This study also analyzes the effect of perceived ease of use on perceived usefulness and analyzes the effect of these two variables on the intention to adopt a LMS. This study included 3,205 respondents who are employees of banking companies in Indonesia and who used the LMS for their learning and self-development needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Design/methodology/approach

This research is a quantitative study that uses online surveys to collect data and partial least squares statistical tools to analyze survey data.

Findings

The results showed that accessibility alone had no effect on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, while enjoyment had no effect on the intention to use LMS and perceived ease of use and functionality had no effect on the intention to use LMS.

Research limitations/implications

This research focuses on the concept of technology acceptance with extrinsic and intrinsic aspects. This research context involves employees working in the banking sector with the adoption of the LMS.

Practical implications

LMS in banking companies can be optimized by providing online training and reducing the operational costs of employee training. By using LMS, companies can offer online courses to employees and track progress in distance learning, become a learning choice and information dissemination during the pandemic and also support future business continuity.

Originality/value

This study focuses on testing the technology adoption model on LMSs in the banking sector by adding extrinsic aspects, namely, system quality, facilitating conditioning, computer playfulness and user interface design, and combining intrinsic aspects, namely, perceived self-efficacy, enjoyment and learning goal orientation.

Robustness of Air Transportation as Complex Networks:Systematic Review of 15 Years of Research and Outlook into the Future

Air transportation systems are an important part of the critical infrastructure in our connected world. Accordingly, a better understanding and improvements in the resilience of the overall air transportation system are essential to the well-functioning of our society and overall sustainability of human beings. In the literature, network science is increasingly used to better understand the resilience dynamics of air transportation. Given the wide application of tools for network science and the importance of designing resilient air transportation systems, a rich body of studies has emerged in recent years. This review paper synthesizes the related literature that has been published throughout the last 15 years regarding the robustness of air transportation systems. The contributions of this work consist of two major elements. The first part provides a comprehensive discussion and cross-comparison of the reported results. We cover several major topics, including node importance identification, failure versus attack profiles, recovery and improvement techniques, and networks of networks approaches. The second part of this paper complements the review of aggregated findings by elaborating on a future agenda for robust air transportation research. Our survey-style overview hopefully contributes toward a better understanding of the state of the art in this research area, and, in turn, to the improvement of future air transportation resilience and sustainability.

Generation Z’ Young Adults and M-Commerce Use in Romania

Generation Z spends much time on mobile Internet and less time accessing Internet services using desktop computers. These traits make them an important niche that can be targeted by retailers. The objective of the present study is to analyze the impact of online advertising, social influence, and usage motivation on the behavioral intention related to m-commerce use among Romanian young adults. The research methodology is based on applying partial least square equation modelling (PLS-SEM), using data collected through a questionnaire. The proposed structural model includes four constructs that are first order reflective. The results reveal that among the influencing factors that determine Generation Z to use m-commerce, the usage motivation factor is the most important one, followed by social influence and online advertising. The research is useful for marketing professionals and retailers in establishing marketing strategies in accordance with the factors that influence the buying decision of young adults, representing Generation Z.
