Abstract
A controllable and rapid synthesis of disulfides and thiosulfonates from sodium sulfinates mediated by hydroiodic acid is presented for the first time. In these reactions, ethanol and H2O were employed as solvents to generate different products.

Abstract
Chromones are the class of secondary metabolites broadly occurred in the plant kingdom in a noticeable quantity. This rigid bicyclic system has been categorized "as privileged scaffolds in compounds" in medicinal chemistry. The wide biological responses made them an important moiety in a drug discovery program. This review provides updates on the various methods of synthesis of chromones and biological applications in medicinal chemistry. Various synthetic strategies for the construction of chromones include readily available phenols, salicylic acid and its derivatives, ynones, chalcones, enaminones, chalcones and 2-hydroxyarylalkylketones as starting materials. Synthesis of chromones by using metal, metal free, nanomaterials and different catalysts are included. Details of diverse biological activities such as anti-cancer agents, antimicrobial agents, anti-viral property, anti-inflammatory agents, antioxidants, Monoamine Oxidase-B (MAO-B) Inhibitors, anti-Alzheimer's agents, anti-diabetic agent, antihistaminic potential, antiplatelet agents of chromone derivatives are diecussed.

Abstract
Three types of trifluoromethylated pyrazolidines, pyrazolines, and pyrazoles can be synthesized via divergent reaction of β-CF3-1, 3-enyne with hydrazines. The reaction with simple hydrazine monohydrate or sulfonyl hydrazines as nucleophiles produces 1,3,4-trisubstituted pyrazolines, whereas the reaction with acetyl hydrazine as nucleophiles affords 1,4,5-trisubstituted pyrazolidines. Using phenylhydrazine or tert-butylhydrazine as a reaction partner, the products are easily oxidized to form 1,4,5-trisubstituted pyrazoles.

Abstract
Particulate matter (PM) is an environmental pollutant that has been associated with an increased risk for lung cancer. PM exposure induces cellular alterations and the deregulation of cell signaling pathways. However other mechanisms such as microRNAs deregulation, might be involved in the development and progression of some types of epithelial cancer. The aim of this work was to evaluate miRNA expression in epithelial lung cells after exposure to PM10 and to identify the possible gene targets of deregulated miRNAs. We measured the expression of 2538 miRNAs using a microarray platform after 72 h of PM10 exposure; the potential biological function was inferred with bioinformatics analysis and we validated the relative expression of 10 selected miRNAs with real-time PCR. We found that the expression of 74 miRNAs was significantly changed: 45 miRNAs were downregulated and were involved in proliferation, cell cycle, cytoskeleton modification and autophagy; meanwhile, 29 miRNAs related to apoptosis, DNA damage repair and xenobiotic metabolism were upregulated.

Abstract
The sulfenylation of the vinyl C-H bond in ketene dithioacetals leading to the synthesis of polythiolated alkenes is achieved via the promotion of molecular iodine. In addition, alkyl thiols also exhibit tolerance to the C-H bond elaboration reaction for the synthesis of corresponding alkylthiolated ketene dithioacetals.
