Abstract
1,1'-Binaphthyl-2,2'-diamine (BINAM) is a useful axially chiral compound. The kinetic resolution of BINAM is one of the most crucial methods for synthesizing chiral BINAM. We have developed a chiral calcium phosphate-catalyzed kinetic resolution of BINAM by utilizing an acylation reaction to produce a mono-amide. The kinetic resolution of BINAM derivatives was achieved by using isobutyric anhydride in the presence of chiral calcium phosphate and 4-morpholinopyridine with up to s = 127. 6,6'-Substituted BINAM derivatives were also applicable for this reaction. The resulting mono-acylated BINAM could be transformed into BINAM by hydrolysis under acidic conditions.

Abstract
An enantioselective Friedel-Crafts reaction of cyclic α-diaryl N-acyl imines with indolizines catalyzed by a chiral spirocyclic phosphoric acid has been developed. The asymmetric transformation proceeds smoothly to afford α-tetrasubstituted (1-indolizinyl) (diaryl)methanamines in good yields with up to 98% ee under mild conditions.

Abstract
Desymmetrization is an essential method for the synthesis of chiral compounds, particularly chiral biaryls. We have developed an enantioselective synthesis of axially chiral biaryls by desymmetrization using C(sp3)-H activation catalyzed by chiral palladium phosphate. Mechanistic studies show that C-H activation is the rate- and enantiomer-determining step. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of asymmetric desymmetrization of axially chiral compounds by C(sp3)-H activation.

Abstract
The aza-Friedel-Crafts reaction allows an efficient coupling of electron-rich aromatic systems with imines for the facile incorporation of aminoalkyl groups into the aromatic ring. This reaction has a great scope of forming aza-stereocenters which can be tuned by different asymmetric catalysts. This review assembles recent advances in asymmetric aza-Friedel-Crafts reactions mediated by organocatalysts. The mechanistic interpretation with the origin of stereoselectivity is also explained.

Abstract
The organocatalytic asymmetric reactions of C2-unsubstituted racemic naphthyl-indoles with orthoalkynylnaphthols were employed to synthesize axially chiral styrenes connected to an axially chiral naphthyl-indole unit. Utilizing chiral phosphoric acid as the catalyst, these axially chiral styrenes were prepared in good yields (up to 96%) and excellent stereoselectivity (up to >99.9% ee, >20:1 dr, and >99:1 E/Z) in mild conditions. Moreover, further synthetic transformations were achieved with high yields and excellent stereocontrol.

Abstract
Over the last ten years, the combination of organocatalysis with transition metal (TM) catalysis has become one of the most important toolboxes used for synthesizing optically pure compounds containing chiral quaternary centers, including spiro heterocyclic molecules. The dominant method in the enantioselective synthesis of spiro heterocyclic compounds based on synergistic catalysis includes chiral aminocatalysis and NHC catalysis, as already established covalent organocatalytic strategies. Another area of organocatalysis widely combined with TM catalysis producing enantiomerically enriched spiro heterocyclic compounds is non-covalent catalysis, dominated by chiral phosphoric acids, thiourea, and squaramide derivatives. This review article aims to summarize enantioselective methods used for constructing spirocyclic heterocycles based on a combination of organocatalysis and transition metal catalysis.

Abstract
A series of chiral enantiomerically pure aziridines containing a phosphine moiety were synthesized and successfully applied as organocatalysts in asymmetric intramolecular Rauhut–Currier reactions of p-quinone derivatives. The desired chiral phenols were achieved in high chemical yields and with satisfactory values of enantiomeric excess (up to 98% ee, in some cases). The stereochemical course of the title reaction may be controlled by the use of an appropriate enantiomer of the catalyst. The individual enantiomers of the organocatalyst led to the formation of specific enantiomers of the chiral product.

Abstract
The synthesis of unnatural α-amino acid derivatives has attracted considerable interest in recent years, as they are ubiquitous in protein synthesis and peptide-based drug discovery. Herein, we reported the chiral phosphoric acid catalyzed asymmetric reaction of indoles with β,γ-alkynyl-α-imino esters for the enantioselective synthesis of unnatural indole-based α-amino acid derivatives. This asymmetric organocatalysis protocol enables efficient synthesis of unnatural α-amino acid derivatives with a tetrasubstituted stereogenic center and an alkyne moiety with up to 99% yield and 98% ee, resulting in operationally simple conditions, short reaction time, and broad substrate scope.
