Abstract
AbstractAn efficient simple, metal-free, one-pot protocol for the synthesis of dihydropyrrole derivatives has been achieved via sequential addition of iodobenzenediacetate and secondary amine to 2-amino-4H- pyran derivatives. The one-pot protocol proceeds through tandem oxidative functionalization, rearrangement, and ring contraction to provide an entirely new strategy for the construction of the dihydropyrrole skeleton.

Abstract
Abstract
For the first time silica gel was observed to activate peroxides in oxidative coupling reactions. Here we report silica gel mediated oxidative C–O coupling of β-dicarbonyl compounds with cyclic diacyl peroxides affording α-acyloxy derivatives with 100% atom efficiency. The highest yields of coupling products were achieved in solvent free conditions. C–O coupling products were prepared in yields up to 86%.

Abstract
A self-condensation cyclization reaction mediated by phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5) and catalyzed by zinc bromide (ZnBr2) is presented for the synthesis of polysubstituted 4-pyridones and 2-pyridones from β-keto amides. A variety of β-keto amides are used in this approach, and a wide range of functionalized 4-pyridones and 2-pyridones were obtained in good to excellent yields. When employing the N-aryl β-keto amides as the substrates in this protocol, 4-pyridones are resulted, however, when using N-aliphatic-substituted β-keto amides as the partners of N-aryl β-keto amides under the same conditions, 2-pyridones are afforded.

Abstract
A novel and reliable method for the direct preparation of 2,2-dihalo-N-phenylacetamides is reported. The key transformation involves the cleavage of a carbon-carbon bond in the presence of DIB and a Lewis acid as the halogen source, and thus this method significantly expands the value of DIB as a unique and powerful tool in chemical synthesis. This protocol not only adds a new aspect to reactions that use other hypervalent iodine reagents but also provides a wide space for the synthesis of disubstituted acetamides.
