Abstract
Asthma remains a significant global health challenge, demanding innovative approaches to treatment. Traditional medicine has a rich history of using natural products to alleviate asthmatic symptoms. However, transitioning from these traditional remedies to modern drug discovery approaches has provided fresh insights into the mechanisms and effectiveness of these natural products. This study provides our comprehensive review, which examines the current state of knowledge in the treatment of asthma. It delves into the mechanisms through which natural products ameliorate asthma symptoms, and it discusses their potential in the development of novel therapeutic interventions. Our analysis reveals that natural products, traditionally employed for asthma relief, exhibit diverse mechanisms of action. These include anti-inflammatory, bronchodilatory, immunomodulatory effects, and reducing gene expression. In the context of modern drug discovery, these natural compounds serve as valuable candidates for the development of novel asthma therapies. The transition from traditional remedies to modern drug discovery represents a promising avenue for asthma treatment. Our review highlights the substantial efficacy of natural products in managing asthma symptoms, underpinned by well-defined mechanisms of action. By bridging the gap between traditional and contemporary approaches, we contribute to the growing body of knowledge in the field, emphasizing the potential of natural products in shaping the future of asthma therapy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The primary objective of this review is to focus on research findings that aim to determine the immunomodulatory action of ginger's active components and the molecular mechanisms that reduce asthma. The study aims to provide an overview of the scientific literature available on ginger's efficacy in treating allergic asthma. DATA SOURCE The mouse model of asthma has been used to investigate the actions of ginger and its active compounds on allergies and asthma. Various studies and scientific literature on ginger's health-improving qualities and its traditional use have been examined. RESULTS The findings indicate that ginger and its active ingredients have anti-asthmatic features and a suppressive impact on mast cell production of histamine. Animals given ginger and compounds derived from ginger demonstrate a notable reduction in allergic response, suggesting a significant role in lowering the allergic reaction. CONCLUSION While ginger shows promise as a potential treatment for allergies and asthma due to its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antidiabetic, anticancer, and antioxidant effects, further examination, extrapolation, and confirmation of these results are necessary before utilizing ginger and its active components in human treatments. This review highlights the need for additional research and provides an overview of the current scientific literature on ginger's efficacy in treating allergic asthma.

Abstract
In vitro investigations of mast cell (MC) degranulation are essential for studying many diseases, particularly allergy and urticaria. Many MC-degranulation inducers are currently available. However, there is no previous systematic comparative analysis of these available inducers in term of their efficacies to induce MC degranulation. Herein, we performed systematic comparisons of efficacies of five well-known and commonly used MC-degranulation inducers. RBL-2H3 cells were sensitized with 50 ng/ml anti-DNP IgE or biotinylated IgE followed by stimulation with 100 ng/ml DNP-BSA or streptavidin, respectively. For non-IgE-mediated inducers, the cells were treated with 5 µg/ml substance P, compound 48/80, or A23187. At 15-, 30-, 45- and 60-min post-induction, several common MC-degranulation markers (including intracellular [Ca2+], β-hexosaminidase release, tryptase expression by immunofluorescence staining, cellular tryptase level by immunoblotting, secretory tryptase level by immunoblotting, CD63 expression by immunofluorescence staining, and CD63 expression by flow cytometry) were evaluated. The data showed that all these markers significantly increased after activation by all inducers. Among them, A23187 provided the greatest degrees of increases in intracellular [Ca2+] and β-hexosaminidase release at all time-points and upregulation of CD63 at one time-point. These data indicate that all these IgE-mediated (anti-DNP IgE/DNP-BSA and biotinylated IgE/streptavidin) and non-IgE-mediated (substance P, compound 48/80, and A23187) inducers effectively induce MC degranulation, while A23187 seems to be the most effective inducer for MC degranulation.

Abstract
Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is a famous dietary spice rich in bioactive components like gingerols, and it has been used for a long time as food and medicine. Indeed, clinical studies have confirmed the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of ginger. Thus, ginger seems to be an excellent complementary nutritional strategy for non-communicable diseases (NCD) such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and chronic kidney disease. This narrative review aims to discuss the possible effects of ginger on the mitigation of common complications such as inflammation, oxidative stress, and gut dysbiosis in NCD.
