Abstract
BACKGROUND Low-grade myofibroblastic sarcoma (LGMS) is a rare malignant tumor. It has no specific clinical manifestations and commonly occurs in the head and neck, extremities and other body parts, with the liver not as its predisposing site.
CASE SUMMARY We report a case report of a 58-year-old man with right upper abdominal pain for 11 d. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT), CE magnetic resonance imaging and CE ultrasound (US) all showed a cystic-solid mass in the right liver. As the initial clinical diagnosis was hepatic cystadenoma, surgical resection was performed, and the postoperative pathology indicated hepatic LGMS. The 3-mo follow-up showed favorable recovery of the patient. However, at 7-mo follow-up, two-dimensional US and CECT showed a suspected metastatic lesion in the right-middle abdomen.
CONCLUSION Hepatic MS is particularly rare and easily misdiagnosed, more cases will contribute to the understanding and the diagnosis accuracy.

Abstract
Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is a rare sarcoma with unique molecular characteristics. It also has typical fasciitis-like, dense spindle cells and hypocellular fibrous histologic patterns and can occur at any age. The etiology of IMT is unknown and a complete treatment and monitoring plan for IMT have not been developed. We have found a rare case about a huge recurrent IMT implicating renal and ureter. The patient was accompanied by a history of a lesion sized 15.5 cm × 11.5 cm × 10.5 cm as a retroperitoneal IMT, and the first tumor resection was performed 12 months ago. The patient, who suffered from tumor recurrence within 1 year and whose recurrent tumor also invaded into the renal parenchymal was given a retroperitoneal neoplasm resection plus right nephrectomy. In order to clarify the pathological features, the histological specimens of recurrent retroperitoneal IMT were examined as well as primary retroperitoneal IMT, and immunohistochemical (IHC) stains showed that the spindle cells were positive for vimentin and negative for anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK). At 24 months follow-up, the patient recovered well and there was no evidence of tumor recurrence. This case report is conducive to understanding this rare tumor. When conditions permit, complete surgical resection is the recommended treatment for primary and recurrent IMT.

Abstract
Coexistence of hepatic cyst and liver sarcoma. Recurrence of hepatic cysts. Surgical approach has been mentioned as the treatment modality. The roles of chemotherapy and radiotherapy are still controversial.
Introduction Liver sarcoma is exceedingly rare and is a clinical challenge. Case report A 69-year-old female presented with right upper quadrant pain after a fall. Her CT scan showed multiple cysts. She was initially diagnosed as hepatic cysts with hemorrhage and underwent puncture and drainage of liver cysts. But the cysts relapsed quickly. Then she underwent fenestration of the hepatic cysts. The liver cysts reoccurred again accompanied by massive bleeding and obstructive jaundice. She underwent right trihepatectomy and her final pathological report showed liver sarcoma. However, the hepatic sarcoma reoccurred again. Its’ diagnosis and treatment process are extremely complex. In the end, she had a bad ending. Conclusion We believe that timely diagnosis and complete excision of liver sarcoma are very important.

Abstract
Only two cases of myofibroblastic sarcoma in the liver have been reported in the literature. Here, we report the case of a male patient with high-grade myofibroblastic sarcoma mimicking echinococcosis in the liver. The 25-year-old male patient complained of right upper quadrant swelling pain for one week and was initially diagnosed with echinococcosis. He was then scheduled for an exploratory laparotomy. During the operation, a huge mass exceeding 16 cm in diameter was found to occupy nearly the entire right trisegment of the liver, with a clear boundary and a round shape, and the mass was resected by right hepatic trisegmentectomy. Immunohistochemical staining revealed that the tumor tissue was positive for desmin, α-smooth muscle actin, CD56, and vimentin and negative for ALK-1, myogenin, calponin, β-catenin, S100, and glypican-3, with a Ki-67 (MIB-1) index of approximately 20%. Based on the histological manifestations and immunohistochemical staining, a diagnosis of myofibroblastic sarcoma was established. The postoperative recovery was uneventful. There was no evidence of recurrence or metastasis through the last follow-up, 6 mo after surgery, despite a lack of postoperative chemotherapy or radiotherapy. To the best of our knowledge, the present case is the first reported case of high-grade myofibroblastic sarcoma in the liver, and it is also the first reported case in a male patient.

Abstract
Primary myofibroblastic sarcoma is an extremely rare, highly malignant neoplasm, and only few cases had been reported in the literature worldwide. In the present study, we report an unusual case of a low-grade myofibroblastic sarcoma located in the posterior chest wall with intrathoracic propagation and discuss its clinical and pathological features.
