Comparison of diagnostic value of multi-slice spiral CT and MRI for different pathological stages of prostate cancer

Multi-Slice Spiral Computed Tomography Image Features under Hybrid Iterative Reconstruction Algorithm in Staging Diagnosis of Bladder Cancer

Objective

This study was aimed to explore the accuracy of multi-slice spiral computed tomography (CT) scan in preoperative staging diagnosis of bladder cancer based on hybrid iterative reconstruction algorithm, so as to provide a more reasonable supporting basis for guiding clinical work in the future.

Methods

Retrospectively, 120 patients admitted to hospital from July 2019 to April 2021, who were confirmed to be with urothelial carcinoma of the bladder by pathological examination after surgical treatment, were selected. CT images before processing were set as the control group and those after processing were set as the observation group according to whether they were processed by the hybrid iterative algorithm. Postoperative pathological examination was utilized as the standard for analysis. The accuracy and consistency of the two methods were compared.

Results

The accuracy of the results of each stage of the observation group (T1 stage: 91.09%, T2 stage: 89.66%, T3 stage: 88.89%, and T4 stage: 88.89%) and consistency (T1 stage: 0.66, T2 stage: 0.69, T3 stage: 0.71, and T4 stage: 0.82) were higher than those of the control group (accuracy: T1-57.01%, T2-48.28%, T3-44.44%, and T4-44.44%). The consistency was as follows: T1-0.32, T2-0.24, T3-0.37, and T4-0.43, and the comparison was statistically significant (P < 0.05).

Conclusion

The adoption value of the image features based on the hybrid iterative reconstruction algorithm in the diagnosis of bladder cancer staging was higher than that of the conventional multi-slice spiral CT, indicating that the hybrid iterative reconstruction algorithm had a good adoption prospect in clinical examination.

Ultrasound intervention combined with multi-slice spiral CT has excellent diagnostic value in lymph node metastasis of gastric cancer

OBJECTIVE

To investigate the diagnostic value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) combined with multi-slice helical CT (MSCT) for gastric carcinoma and its lymph node metastasis (LNM).

METHODS

150 patients with gastric carcinoma diagnosed in our hospital from July 2017 to July 2020 were enrolled for this retrospective study. The patients were all confirmed with gastric carcinoma by biopsy pathology. CEUS and MSCT were performed within one week before surgery. Logistic regression analysis was conducted to analyze the risk factors for LNM of gastric carcinoma. The diagnostic efficiency of CEUS and MSCT in gastric carcinoma and the screening efficiency of LNM were compared, and the sensitivity and specificity were calculated with the postoperative pathologic finding as the gold standard. The scores of lymph node reinforcement were compared.

RESULTS

There were 115 cases diagnosed with LNM while 35 were diagnosed without it by CEUS. MSCT results confirmed that there were 112 cases with LNM while 38 without. CEUS combined with MSCT confirmed that there were 116 cases with LNM while 34 cases were without. The sensitivity, specificity, and diagnostic coincidence rate of CEUS for LNM of gastric carcinoma were 89.07%, 70.96% and 85.33%, respectively. Those of MSCT were 84.87%, 64.51% and 80.66%, respectively. Those of CEUS combined with MSCT were 94.11%, 87.10%, and 92.67%, respectively. The reinforcement of CEUS combined with MSCT was better than either alone.

CONCLUSION

CEUS combined with MSCT is more effective in the diagnosis of LNM in gastric carcinoma patients. Hence, the combination of the two is helpful to enhance the accuracy of LNM diagnosis before operation.

Diagnostic Value of Multislice Spiral CT Cardiothoracic Combined with Angiography in Acute Chest Pain

Acute chest pain is a common clinical emergency condition with a variety of causes, including acute coronary syndrome, pulmonary embolism, aortic coarctation, and pneumothorax. It is essential for emergency physicians to quickly and accurately understand the cause of acute chest pain. 64-slice spiral CT combined cardiothoracic angiography is an accurate and rapid way to diagnose and differentiate the cause of acute chest pain. 64-slice combined cardiothoracic angiography can accurately and rapidly display the thoracic aorta, both pulmonary arteries, the main trunk of the coronary artery and its major branches, and also provide a comprehensive view of both lungs and mediastinum, which is an effective test for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of acute chest pain. Based on this, this study further investigated the value of 64-slice spiral CT triplex examination in the diagnosis of acute chest pain. The results showed that 64-slice spiral CT has the advantages of fast scanning speed, high resolution, and advanced postprocessing technology, and combined cardiothoracic angiography can quickly and accurately help emergency physicians analyze the cause of acute chest pain, which plays a very important role in formulating the correct treatment plan in a timely manner. At the same time, with the continuous development of CT technology, the temporal and spatial resolution has improved the quality of CT images, giving us more options to reduce the effective radiation dose and reduce the total amount of contrast, making the 64-row spiral CT cardiothoracic imaging more perfect.
