Abstract
Heart failure (HF) patients have high rates of 30-day unplanned rehospitalization. This study assessed the impact of physiological factors on 30-day HF unplanned rehospitalization.
METHODS
The cross-sectional study used secondary data from electronic medical records of 270 patients.
RESULTS
Findings revealed several factor types were related to 30-day HF unplanned rehospitalization such as chronic kidney disease (p = 0.001), the use of CPAP machine (p = 0.028), and B-type natriuretic peptide (p = 0.050).
CONCLUSION
Many physiological factors were associated with 30-day HF unplanned rehospitalization. Identifying these factors will help health care providers to plan a variety of interventions that reduce 30-day HF unplanned rehospitalization.
