Abstract
Parkinson's disease (PD), a widely recognized neurodegenerative disorder, is characterized by a spectrum of symptoms including motor fluctuations and dyskinesia. Neuroinflammation and dysregulation of adipokines are increasingly implicated in the progression of PD. This preliminary study investigated the levels of inflammatory biomarkers and adipokines, namely interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), C-reactive protein (CRP), visfatin, progranulin, and 25(OH)-vitamin D in 52 PD patients, divided equally between those with and without dyskinesia and 26 healthy controls. Significant differences in the levels of IL-6, TNF-α, visfatin, and progranulin were noted between the groups. Patients with dyskinesia exhibited notably higher IL-6 levels compared to controls, and TNF-α was significantly elevated in both PD patient groups relative to the control group. Additionally, visfatin levels were higher in PD patients without dyskinesia as opposed to those with dyskinesia, and progranulin levels were elevated in the non-dyskinetic PD group compared to controls. The findings highlight the potential role of the examined biomarkers in the pathophysiology of PD. Changes in levels of the tested inflammatory biomarkers and adipokines might be associated with Parkinson's disease and its symptoms such as dyskinesia.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the potential use of magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) in the diagnosis of pre-dementia cognitive disorders in elderly people. MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 65 elderly individuals (37 individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) according to NIA-AA criteria, mean age 67.2 years; 28 controls, mean age 65.2 years) underwent MRS (3.0 T) with posterior cingulate cortex as the region of interest. Absolute concentrations of metabolites (tCr, NAA, Glx, mI, Cho, NAA) were calculated based on their signal intensities. Statistical analysis was performed to assess intergroup differences and correlations. RESULTS Statistically significant differences were observed between the clinical and control groups in the absolute concentrations of metabolites: mI (MCI 4.97±0.13; controls 4.76±0.15; p=0.04) and NAA/mI (MCI 1.61±0.04; controls 1.73±0.04; p=0.04), as well as in the intensities of the choline-containing compounds signal (MCI 0.215±0.015; controls 0.205±0.005; p=0.04) in the posterior cingulate cortex region. No significant correlations between these changes and age were observed, suggesting the predominant role of neurodegeneration in the pathological process under investigation. CONCLUSION The findings highlight the promising nature of MRS as a tool to find the neurodegeneration biomarker.

Abstract
Toxocara is one of the most prevalent nematodes in Iran, which infect humans as an intermediate host. Infection complications result from the larva migration. Human toxocariasis prevalence was various in Iran according to the area of study and population. This study was designed to evaluate the seropositivity of Toxocara IgG in patients with blood disorders and cancer patients in southwest Iran. Moreover, the study of the associated risk factors for this infection. A total of 1122 serum samples, from February 8, 2019 to August 21, 2019, including 600 healthy individuals and 522 individuals with cancer and blood disorders patients were collected. Serum samples were collected for detection of Toxocara IgG by using ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit. Sociodemographic data of all participants were collected and examined to determine their association with the infection. Out of 101 individuals with white blood cell disorders (5.94%), red blood cell disorders (7.48%) and cancer patients (11.06%) were seropositive for Toxocara IgG antibodies. The infection rate among all study population revealed that (10.76%) were positive for Toxocara IgG. This study showed the fundamental role of contact with pets and infection in groups with blood cell disorders (P-value ≤ 0.05%); while in cancer patients the association wasn't significant. Other factors such as age, location of residence, and sex showed that the association with this infection wasn't significant.
