Abstract
Patients with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) usually present with minor mucocutaneous bleeding. Corpus luteum hemorrhage (CLH) is generally asymptomatic but may, rarely, lead to severe intraperitoneal bleeding, mostly in patients with coagulation disorders. CLH causing intraperitoneal bleeding has only been described in few individuals with ITP. The objective of this retrospective observational study was to assess the clinical course and incidence of symptomatic CLH in adolescent females with newly diagnosed or chronic ITP. Additionally, a comprehensive literature review was conducted to scrutinize cases of pediatric female patients with ITP, complicated by CLH. We identified three patients with ITP and hemoperitoneum secondary to CLH. They presented with acute abdominal pain, had severe thrombocytopenia (platelet counts below 20 × 109/L), and required blood transfusions as well as ITP-directed therapy. All the patients were hemodynamically stable and did not require emergency surgical intervention. Conclusion: CLH could potentially pose a significant complication in the context of adolescent females with ITP, requiring a strong index of suspicion to direct expedient therapy. What is Known: • Immune thrombocytopenia is typically associated with minor bleeding tendency. • Corpus luteum hemorrhage is generally asymptomatic; however, in women with bleeding disorders, it has the potential to result in substantial intra-abdominal bleeding. What is New: • Corpus luteum hemorrhage leading to intra-abdominal bleeding is a potential severe complication of immune thrombocytopenia in adolescent females.

Abstract
Histological terminology of the female genital organs is currently a part of the internationally accepted nomenclature Terminologia Histologica (TH), the latest edition of which dates back to 2008. Many new discoveries have been documented within 16 years since then, and many discrepancies have been found. This paper aims to revise the terminology from clinical and educational perspectives comprehensively. The authors thoroughly searched the current edition of "Terminologia Histologica: International Terms for Human Cytology and Histology," focusing on missing and controversial terms in the chapter Female genital system. The authors identified six controversial and ambiguous terms and four missing important histological terms. The authors also discussed the addition of less used eponymic terms in the histological description of female genital organs like Hamperl cells, Popescu cells, Kroemer lacunae, Balbiani bodies, Call-Exner bodies, membrane of Slavianski, nabothian cysts, or anogenital sweat glands of van der Putte. We expect the second and revised edition of the TH to be published soon and hope that the Federative International Program on Anatomical Terminology will approve and incorporate all these propositions and suggestions. We also strongly recommend using the official internationally accepted Latin and English histological nomenclature-the TH, either in oral or written form, both in theoretical and clinical medicine.

Abstract
Resveratrol performs a variety of biological activities, including the potential regulation of autophagy. However, it is unclear whether resveratrol protects against luteal dysfunction and whether autophagy involves the regulation of resveratrol. This study aims to investigate whether resveratrol can regulate autophagy to resist H2O2-induced luteinized granulosa cell dysfunction in vitro. Our results showed that resveratrol can enhance cell viability, stimulate the secretion of progesterone and estradiol, and resist cell apoptosis in H2O2-induced luteinized granulosa cell dysfunction. Resveratrol can activate autophagy by stimulating the expression of autophagy-related genes at the transcriptional and translational levels and increasing the formation of autophagosomes and autophagolysosomes. Rapamycin, 3-methyladenine, and bafilomycin A1 regulated the levels of autophagy-related genes in H2O2-induced luteinized granulosa cell dysfunction and further confirmed the protective role of autophagy activated by resveratrol. In conclusion, resveratrol activates autophagy to resist H2O2-induced oxidative dysfunction, which is crucial for stabilizing the secretory function of luteinized granulosa cells and inhibiting apoptosis. This study may contribute to revealing the protective effects of resveratrol on resisting luteal dysfunction from the perspective of regulating autophagy.

Abstract
In the case of trauma, the presence of free fluid in the abdominal cavity on the focused assessment with sonography for trauma scan usually indicates the possibility of hemoperitoneum caused by injury to the abdominal organs. However, on rare occasions, isolated injuries to gynecologic organs can also result in hemoperitoneum, especially among women of reproductive age. Thus, the rupture of a corpus luteal cyst may be one of the myriad causes of massive hemoperitoneum and carries a risk of misdiagnosis for patients with trauma. In this case report, we highlight the characteristic imaging findings of a case of apoplexy of the corpus luteum cyst that presented to the emergency department as a cause of massive hemoperitoneum after blunt abdominal trauma.

Abstract
Objective: The objective of this literature review was to provide a summary of the primary concerns in evaluating ovarian cysts and compare the diagnostic roles of each imaging technique, in an emergent setting. Materials and Methods: A literature review of the imaging evaluation of functional ovarian cysts, emergent complications, and relevant case studies was performed using peer-reviewed articles. The literature search was conducted using PubMed, The Wiley Online Library, and Google Scholar search engines. Results: Sonography, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) demonstrate comparable accuracy in the diagnosis of functional ovarian cysts and ovarian torsion. While sonography is the preferred method of imaging the female pelvis, CT and MRI demonstrate similar diagnostic capabilities. Conclusion: Functional ovarian cyst rupture/hemorrhage and ovarian torsion can be accurately demonstrated using sonography, CT, and MRI.

Abstract
When a patient is receiving anticoagulant therapy, the rupture of a corpus luteum cyst may go unrecognized in healthy women but becomes clinically relevant as it might exacerbate a hemoperitoneum episode. This report describes the case of a 26-year-old primipara who underwent surgical treatment for a heart defect and later experienced extensive hemoperitoneum. The patient reported to the casualty with symptoms of unstable hemodynamic status such as hypotension 90/60 mmHg and tachycardia 120 beats/minute. A multidisciplinary team decided upon surgical management after stabilizing the coagulation profile and correcting the shock with blood and blood products. The reason was discovered to be a ruptured cyst wall, which was fixed electrosurgically. The patient had a full recovery with no postoperative complications. The most noteworthy aspect of this case was the catastrophic hemoperitoneum caused by improper anticoagulant treatment monitoring. Management of such cases depends on the age of the patient, fertility, and calculating the long-term prognosis of the anticoagulation therapy for the patient.

Abstract
Background The rupture of the corpus luteum (CL) may occur at all stages of a woman’s reproductive life. Bleeding of the ruptured CL varies from self-limiting hemorrhage to massive hemoperitoneum, causing the shock and subsequent emergency surgery. But hemoperitoneum secondary to ruptured CL is a rare complication and situation for women with bleeding disorders. Case presentation We here describe a case of severe CL hemorrhage with factor VIII deficiency. We chose conservative management instead of surgery for the abnormal hemostatic condition. With blood product and factor concentrate support, conservative management was successful in avoiding surgery in the episode of bleeding. Conclusion Gynecologist should be alert for the patients with abnormal hemostatic condition. Selective patients presenting with CL hemoperitoneum association with bleeding disorders may undergo conservative management and avoid the risk of surgery.

Abstract
AbstractVon Willebrand disease (VWD) is the most common inherited bleeding disorder, which results from a deficiency or dysfunction of von Willebrand factor (VWF). The major symptoms of patients affected by VWD include mucocutaneous and gastrointestinal bleeding, easy bruising, and prolonged provoked bleeding due to injury or surgery. Although women and men are equally likely to be affected by VWD, women continue to be disproportionately affected by the bleeding challenges. Women with VWD suffer from sex-specific symptoms, such as menorrhagia, and are at higher risk of reproductive problems and recurrent miscarriage. Furthermore, pregnant women with VWD are more likely at higher risk of suffering from primary and secondary peripartal hemorrhage and anemia and the need for transfusions. Despite being affected by gynecologic and obstetrical bleeding, women face multiple barriers in obtaining an accurate diagnosis. This constitutes a problem that needs to be addressed, and early appropriate medical care should be ensured. There are several effective treatment options for women with VWD that can significantly improve their quality of life, including desmopressin, VWF concentrates, hormonal therapy, and antifibrinolytic therapy. During pregnancy, the monitoring of VWF activity levels is essential. The peripartal management depends on the type of VWD and on the measured levels of VWF levels and activity prior to delivery.

Abstract
We report a case of torsion in an otherwise-normal ovary with a giant hematosalpinx. A 23-year-old woman presented with complaints of abdominal pain and nausea. At initial visit, there was few abnormal findings of imaging tests, and we made a diagnosis of ovarian hemorrhage. Three days later, she came back with increased symptoms, and we detected the mass of a complex solid cystic structure with a unilocular cyst much larger than solid component. A diagnostic laparoscopy was performed immediately, and we could make a diagnosis of torsion in an otherwise-normal ovary with a giant hematosalpinx. We performed a salpingectomy and could preserve her ovary. This is the first case of torsion in an otherwise-normal ovary with a giant hematosalpinx which enlarged to a greater extent than the ovary.
