Abstract
Parents can help children adopt good eating habits early in childhood by encouraging them to eat healthy. While parents' levels of nutritional literacy is known to play a role in children's healthy nutrition, healthy food is also essential in improving oral-health-related quality of life (OHRQoL). Since the effect of parents' nutritional literacy on children's OHRQoL is not yet known, this study aimed to examine the impact of parental nutritional literacy on children's OHRQoL. This study was conducted with 459 parents of children aged 3-6 living in the Central Anatolia Region of Türkiye. Data collection tools included a sociodemographic form, the Early Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale (ECOHIS) and the Evaluation Instrument of Nutrition Literacy on Adults (EINLA). Data were analyzed in SPSS, using Student's t-test, Chi-square test, and binary logistic regression models. Parents with higher nutritional literacy tend to have higher levels of education. An increase in total nutritional literacy score, especially in the general nutrition knowledge (GNK) and food label and numerical literacy (FLNL) subscales, was associated with higher child OHRQoL. Increasing parents' nutritional literacy levels can contribute to OHRQoL by enabling them to be good role models for their children. Therefore, increasing parents' nutritional literacy can improve OHRQoL by improving children's nutrition and can be considered a protective factor for oral health.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Dental caries with pulp involvement potentially impacts the oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL). This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate whether clinical consequences of pulp involvement due to dental caries impacts OHRQoL of children and adolescents. METHODS Observational studies evaluating whether children/adolescents (population) with pulp involvement due to caries (exposition) compared with those without it (comparison) have more negative impact on their OHRQoL (outcome) were included. A systematic search was undertaken in August 2022 in seven databases. Alerts were set until August 2023. JBI Critical Appraisal tool for cross-sectional studies was used for methodological quality assessment. Random-effects meta-analyses were performed to calculate mean differences (MD) or standardized mean differences (SMD) of impact on OHRQoL. For studies with dichotomous outcome, meta-analysis calculated the odds ratio (OR). Robustness, heterogeneity, certainty of evidence, and publication bias were evaluated. RESULTS From 29 included studies, 14 assessed preschoolers, nine assessed schoolchildren, four assessed adolescents, and two assessed children/adolescents. PUFA was the main index used to assess the exposure. ECOHIS (preschoolers) and CPQ (children/adolescents) were the main tools used to assess the outcome. Only five articles fully adhered to the quality criteria. The meta-analyses found the following main results: (a) preschoolers: MD -10.79 (-16.50; -5.09); (b) schoolchildren: MD -5.12 (-7.51; -2.72); (c) adolescents: MD -1.86 (-4.59; 0.87); (d) overall impact: SMD -2.18; (CI: -3.21;-1.15) and OR 0.52 (CI: 0.30; 0.90). CONCLUSION Pulp involvement impacted OHRQoL of children negatively. In adolescents, this impact was not observed. Results must be interpreted with caution due to very low certainty of evidence.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This review assessed the impact of oral conditions on Oral Health Related Quality of Life among Indians. METHODS Databases, including PubMed and Scopus, CINAHL, Web of Science, PsycInfo were systematically searched for English Language studies conducted among Indians up to July 2022. Two independent reviewers assessed studies selected for retrieval for methodological quality using standardised quality assessment instruments for analytical cross-sectional studies in JBI SUMARI. RESULTS Fourty one publications were included in this review (N = 23,090). Studies includes both cross sectional study and Randomized Controlled Trials. Based on the JBI critical appraisal tools, the quality of the included studies was low to high. Twenty-six studies were considered for the meta-analysis. Individuals with dental caries [OR: 3.54 (95% CI 2.24- 5.60), ten studies, 4945 participants] and malocclusion [ OR: 5.44 (95% CI 1.61, 18.39), six studies, 3720 participants] had poor OHRQoL compared to individuals without oral conditions. CONCLUSIONS Despite the various definitions of the exposures and instruments used to assess Oral Health-Related Quality of Life, our review found that people with dental caries and malocclusion have a significantly higher experience of poor quality of life. Abstract
OBJECTIVE We aimed to investigate whether Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms present in the genes of tooth mineral tissues influence dental caries trajectory across the life course, and if there is an epistatic (gene-gene) interaction between these SNPs. METHODS A representative sample of all 5,914 births from the 1982 Pelotas birth cohort study was prospectively investigated. Dental caries trajectory across the life course was assessed at 15(n=888), 24(n=720), and 31 years old(n=539). Group-based trajectory modelling was used to identify distinct subgroups of individuals whose caries measurements followed a similar pattern over time. Genetic material was collected, and individuals were genotyped [rs4970957(TUFT1), rs1711437(MMP20), rs1784418(MMP20), rs2252070(MMP13), rs243847(MMP2), rs2303466(DLX3), rs11656951(DLX3), rs7501477(TIMP2), rs388286(BMP7), and rs5997096(TFIP11)]. Analyzes were performed for allele and genotype using logistic regression and generalized multifactor dimensionality reduction for epistatic interactions. RESULTS The analyses included 678 individuals, those with allele C (OR=0.74, CI95%[0.59-0.92]), genotype CC in the additive effect (OR=0.52, CI95%[0.31-0.89]), and the genotype TC/CC in dominant effect (OR=0.72, CI95%[0.53-0.98]) on the rs243847(MMP2) were associated with low caries trajectory. Individuals with the allele T (OR=0.79, CI95%[0.64-0.98]) and the genotype TC/CC in dominant effect (OR=0.66, CI95%[0.47-0.95]) on the rs5997096(TFIP11) were associated with low caries trajectory. Positive epistatic interactions were observed involving two (MMP2 and BMP7; p=0.006) and three (TUFT1, MMP2, and TFIP11; p<0.001) loci and high caries trajectory. CONCLUSIONS Some SNPs present in the genes of tooth mineral tissues were associated with caries trajectory and epistatic interactions increasing the network of SNPs involved in individual caries experience. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE Single nucleotide polymorphisms in the pathway of tooth mineral tissues genes may contribute significantly to the individual caries experience across the life course.

Abstract
Objective The current study aimed to assess the caries experience and associated factors and its impact on the oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) among 6-year-old Libyan children. Methods A cross-sectional survey including 706 six-year-old children was conducted in 2017 in Benghazi, Libya. Data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire assessing socioeconomic status and oral health behaviours, and the Arabic version of the Early Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale (A-ECOHIS) to assess the OHRQoL. Clinical examination assessed caries experience at tooth level (dmft) and the number of decayed, missing due to caries and filled teeth (dt, mt and ft). Poisson regression analysis was performed to determine the association between dmft scores and the independent predictors. Linear regression analysis was conducted for ECOHIS scores with the children’s gender, SES and OHB. The statistical significance was set to ≤ 0.05. Results Data were available for 706 children. Caries prevalence (dt) and dmft of ≥ 1 were 69.1% and 71% respectively. The mean ± SD dmft score was 3.23 ± 3.32. There was a significant and direct association between dmft scores and daily consumption of sugary snacks (B = 1.27, P = 0.011) and a significant inverse association with teethbrushing twice daily (B = 0.80, P = 0.041). There was a significant and direct association between A-ECOHIS and dmft (B = 1.14, P ≤ 0.001) and a significant and inverse association between A- ECOHIS and high and intermediate family income compared to low income (B = −3.82, P = 0.0001 and B = −2.06, P = 0.028). Conclusions 6-year-old Libyan children had a relatively high caries experience an untreated decay with impact on OHRQoL. Social disparities, sugar consumption patterns and oral hygiene practices were associated with high caries experience.

Abstract
Current diagnostics are insufficient for diagnosis and prognosis of acute infections and sepsis. Clinical decisions including prescription and timing of antibiotics, ordering of additional diagnostics and level-of-care decisions rely on understanding etiology and implications of a clinical presentation. Host mRNA signatures can differentiate infectious from noninfectious etiologies, bacterial from viral infections, and predict 30-day mortality. The 29-host-mRNA blood-based InSepTM test (Inflammatix, Burlingame, CA, formerly known as HostDxTM Sepsis) combines machine learning algorithms with a rapid point-of-care platform with less than 30 min turnaround time to enable rapid diagnosis of acute infections and sepsis, as well as prediction of disease severity. A scientific advisory panel including emergency medicine, infectious disease, intensive care and clinical pathology physicians discussed technical and clinical requirements in preparation of successful introduction of InSep into the market. Topics included intended use; patient populations of greatest need; patient journey and sample flow in the emergency department (ED) and beyond; clinical and biomarker-based decision algorithms; performance characteristics for clinical utility; assay and instrument requirements; and result readouts. The panel identified clear demand for a solution like InSep, requirements regarding test performance and interpretability, and a need for focused medical education due to the innovative but complex nature of the result readout. Innovative diagnostic solutions such as the InSep test could improve management of patients with suspected acute infections and sepsis in the ED, thereby lessening the overall burden of these conditions on patients and the healthcare system.
