Abstract
AIM This study aims at analyze the current status and influencing factors of missing appointments in patients with periodontitis after supragingivgy scaling, and to explore the measures to reduce the rate of missing appointments, so as to provide a reference for the prevention of periodontitis and oral health promotion. METHODS This study adopted convenience sampling method to select 204 patients who made appointments for revisits in Grade III and Grade A stomatological hospitals in Guizhou Province from May 2021 to May 2022 as the study objects, and conducted the investigation by general data questionnaire, patient satisfaction questionnaire and modified Dental Anxiety Scale (MDAS). RESULTS The rate of missing appointments in patients with periodontitis was 64.48%.Gender, type of medical payments, perceived severity of disease, communication and convenience of medical service are the influencing factors of missing appointments in patients with periodontitis. CONCLUSION The situation of missing appointments in patients with periodontitis is not optimistic, and there are many influencing factors. It is suggested that medical staff should increase the popularization of disease knowledge, communication with patients, and improve the convenience of medical services. Relevant departments should improve the medical insurance system.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To find out factors influencing the compliance of supportive treatment of patients with periodontitis who have received implant restoration therapy. METHODS Patients who had completed periodontal and implant restoration treatment for more than 5 years in Department of Periodontology, Peking University Hospital of Stomatology were subjected to inclusion between March 2022 and August 2023.A questionnaire was compiled to gather the information including patients ' basic information (gender, age, and educational background etc.), smoking habits, general health conditions, oral hygiene habits, willingness to undertake periodontal and dental implant supportive treatment, actual fact on supportive treatment recorded in medical records, whether medical advices were correctly remembered, and reasons affected them to implement supportive therapy. The questionnaires were handed out to the above patients and filled during the process of follow-up treatment. Chi-square test, univariate and multivariate analysis of Logistic regression were employed to explore the correlations of these factors and the patients' compliance. RESULTS In the study, 92 patients and questionnaires were collected and analyzed. The results indicated that oral hygiene habits and whether medical advices were correctly remembered had significant correlation with compliance (P < 0.05). Time constraint (47.0%) and difficulty in appointment registration (24.8%) were the top 2 reasons obstructed them to undertake supportive treatment. Although the vast majority of the patients indicated willingness to perform follow-ups, 55.4% of them wouldn't come back until the dentist called them back. The results of our study also indicated that the patients placed significantly less importance on the health of natural teeth than implants. CONCLUSION In order to improve the compliance of supportive treatment, we suggest that dentists should put more emphasis on oral hygiene instruction, and knowledge regarding periodontitis should also be added as part of patient education contents. In the early stages of treatment, the patient should develop the habit of regular follow-up checks, More attention and patience should be given to elderly patients and those with lower level of education; use language that is easy to understand and printed medical instructions to help them remember. Patients can memorize better from refined doctors' advice, reinforcing care knowledge and refining medical advices can promote better follow-up treatment results. Motivating patients based on their characteristics is critical to improving compliance.

Abstract
AIM The aim of the study was to evaluate the prevalence of periodontitis in dentate people between 2011 and 2020. MATERIALS AND METHODS PUBMED, Web of Science, and LILACS were searched up to and including December 2021. Epidemiological studies reporting the prevalence of periodontitis conducted between 2011 and 2020 were eligible for inclusion in this review. Studies were grouped according to the case definition of confidence as confident (Centers for Disease Control [CDC] AAP 2012; CDC/AAP 2007; and Armitage 1999) and non-confident (community periodontal index of 3 or 4, periodontal pocket depth >4 mm, and clinical attachment level ≥1 mm). Random effects meta-analyses with double arcsine transformation were conducted. Sensitivity subgroup and meta-regression analyses explored the effect of confounding variables on the overall estimates. RESULTS A total 55 studies were included. The results showed a significant difference, with confident case definitions (61.6%) reporting nearly twice the prevalence as non-confident classifications (38.5%). Estimates using confident periodontal case definitions showed a pooled prevalence of periodontitis of 61.6%, comprising 17 different countries. Estimates reporting using the CDC/AAP 2012 case definition presented the highest estimate (68.1%) and the CDC/AAP 2007 presented the lowest (48.8%). Age was a relevant confounding variable, as older participants (≥65 years) had the highest pooled estimate (79.3%). CONCLUSION Between 2011 and 2020, periodontitis in dentate adults was estimated to be around 62% and severe periodontitis 23.6%. These results show an unusually high prevalence of periodontitis compared to the previous estimates from 1990 to 2010.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of the nonsurgical periodontal treatment (NSPT) compared with supragingival therapy in type II diabetics with periodontitis. METHODS A decision tree analysis was used to estimate the costs and health outcomes of two periodontal therapies in a hypothetical cohort of type II diabetics with periodontitis. The analysis was developed from the perspective of a third-party payer at 1 year and 5 years. Probabilities were derived from two systematic reviews. The costs and resource use were validated by a Delphi expert panel. All costs were expressed in USD, using the 25 May 2021 Colombian pesos market exchange rate (USD 1 = COP 3,350). RESULTS NSPT was a dominant alternative compared with subsidized supragingival therapy in type II diabetics with periodontitis, generating savings of USD 87 and 400, during the first year or up to 5 years, respectively, and improving dental survival from 32 to 69 percent. CONCLUSIONS NSPT can generate savings by reducing the complications derived from uncontrolled periodontitis and tooth loss.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Adamantiades-Behçet's Disease (ABD) is an immunological recurrent systemic vasculitis with a chronic course. We investigated the predictors of long-term flare-ups, poor outcomes and event-free survival in Chinese non-surgical patients with intestinal ABD. METHODS This was a prospective cohort study of 109 intestinal ABD patients seen in our institution between October 2012 and January 2019 who met the international criteria for ABD and had intestinal ulcers confirmed on colonoscopy. Predictors of relapses and poor outcomes, event-free survival were calculated using logistic regression models and Cox proportional hazard regression models, respectively. RESULTS Sixty-six intestinal ABD patients (60.55%) had ileocecal ulcers; 19 patients (17.43%) presented with colorectum ulcers; 24 patients (22.02%) showed both ileocecal and colorectum ulcers. 7 patients (6.42%) experienced at least 1 flare-up of intestinal ulcers. 38 patients (34.86%) complained of non-healing intestinal ulcers. In multivariate analysis, location of intestinal ulcers (ileocecal and colorectum) (odd ratio (OR) 7.498 [95% confidence interval [95% CI] 1.844-30.480]), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) > 24 mm/h (OR 5.966 [95% CI 1.734-20.528]), treatment with infliximab (IFX) (OR 0.130 [95% CI 0.024-0.715]), and poor compliance (OR 11.730 [95% CI 2.341-58.781]) were independently correlated with a poor outcome. After a median follow-up of 28 months, 45 intestinal ABD patients (41.28%) underwent adverse events. Factors independently associated with shorter event-free survival were early onset of ABD (< 7 years) (hazard ratio (HR) 2.431 [95% CI 1.240-4.764]) and poor compliance (HR 3.058 [95% CI 1.612-5.800]). CONCLUSION Distribution of intestinal ulcers (ileocecal and colorectum), ESR > 24 mm/h, treatment without IFX, and poor compliance were independent risk factors for poor outcomes in non-surgical intestinal ABD patients.
