Abstract
Background The present study aimed to identify and analyze the 100 top-cited articles published in oral radiology. Material and Methods Web of Science was used to conduct a comprehensive search from inception until 22 November 2023 in dental radiology. Basic information of the 100 top-cited articles was recorded. Biblioshiny and VOSviewer tools were employed for conducting thematic map and author keyword, title, and abstract terms analysis to elucidate the research trends and hotspots. Elsevier Scopus database was also used for citation comparisons. Results The citation count for the 101 most-cited articles ranged from 105-587. Most of them were original research studies with observational design conducted in diagnosis, dose, geometric measurements, and image analysis topics. Cone beam computed tomography was the most studied radiologic technique as author keyword co-occurrence analysis revealed and appeared as a basic theme for the transdisciplinary research field's development. While making infant steps, artificial intelligence was adequately represented in top cited list, as it received increasing citation numbers in very few years, concentrating the highest citation densities. Conclusions Bibliometric analysis of the most affecting publications in oral radiology depicts the science's evolution and enhances the understanding of scientific research progress. Abstract
OBJECTIVES This bibliometric analysis aimed to clarify research characteristics and trends in research on uveitis by analyzing the top 100 most-cited articles. METHODS We used the Web of Science database to search articles published in English from January 1, 1950, to February 10, 2022, without other restrictions. The 100 most-cited articles related to uveitis were screened. The publication year, institution, author, journal, country, research topic, and research type of each article were analyzed. RESULTS The citations of the top 100 articles ranged from 144 to 2292 times. The years 2004 and 2005 included the largest number of articles published, with 17 in total. Most of the papers were published in Ophthalmology (n = 19), a specialized ophthalmology journal. The top 100 articles originated from 14 countries, with the most from the USA (n = 44). Twenty research institutions and 18 authors contributed two or more articles, with the National Eye Institute (USA) (n = 10) and Robert B. Nussenblatt (n = 10) contributing the most. The types of studies were mainly clinical studies (n = 64), focusing on the treatment of uveitis (n = 36). CONCLUSION This study summarizes and analyzes the research characteristics and trends of uveitis. The contribution of the USA is explained, the past and current treatments of uveitis are emphasized, and the directions of future research are clarified.

Abstract
Objectives Advancements in nanotechnology have led to the widespread usage of nanoparticles in the endodontic field. This bibliometric study aimed to determine and analyze the top 100 most-cited articles about nanoparticles in endodontics from 2000 to 2022. Materials and Methods A detailed electronic search was conducted on the "Clarivate Analytics Web of Science, All Databases" to receive the most-cited articles related to the topic. Articles were ranked in descending order based on their citation counts, and the first 100 were selected for bibliometric analysis. Parameters such as citation density, publication year, journal, country, institution, author, study design, study field, evidence level, and keywords were analyzed. Results The top 100 most-cited articles received 4,698 citations (16-271) with 970.21 (1.91-181) citation density in total. Among decades, citations were significantly higher in 2011-2022 (p < 0.001). Journal of Endodontics had the largest number of publications. Canada and the University of Toronto made the highest contribution as country and institution, respectively. Anil Kishen was the 1 who participated in the largest number of articles. The majority of the articles were designed in vitro. The main study field was "antibacterial effect." Among keywords, "nanoparticles" followed by "Enterococcus faecalis" were used more frequently. Conclusions Developments in nanotechnology had an impact on the increasing number of studies in recent years. This bibliometric study provides a comprehensive view of nanoparticle advances and trends using citation analysis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) are musculoskeletal conditions involving masticatory muscles and temporomandibular joints. Bibliometric analysis has been introduced as a new method for collecting and analyzing information on scientific articles. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to identify the 50 most cited articles on TMD, performing a bibliometric analysis of the identified papers to favor research and clinical practice. METHODS On December 17, 2021 a systematic research was performed to find all papers on TMD published in the literature. The Incites Journal Citation Reports dataset and Scopus database was used to obtain bibliometric indexes of the authors and metrics data of the journals, including Impact Factor, Eigenfactor Score, and Normalized Eigenfactor. VOSviewer was used to visualize the keyword mapping networking, with the nodes standing for keywords and the edges for keyword relationships. RESULTS Out of 24372 papers obtained by the search strategy, the 50 most cited articles on TMD were analyzed. The paper with the highest number of citations (n= 3020) was on TMD research diagnostic criteria. Rate of citations per year collected by the 50 most cited articles on TMD has been increasing over time (from 627 in 2006 to 1483 in 2021). Most of them were cross-sectional studies (n= 20; 40.0%) and narrative reviews (n= 14; 28.0%). CONCLUSION This bibliometric study showed an increasing number of citations for articles on TMD, testifying a high interest in the last years. Starting from this analysis, future studies might provide high-quality evidence on TMD management.

Abstract
Salivary biomarkers are indicators of many biological and pathological conditions and provide further information regarding the early detection of diseases. This bibliometric analysis aims to identify and evaluate the scientific literature addressing salivary biomarkers from a dental perspective, to identify the most prolific organizations, authors, journals, countries, and keywords used within this research domain. An electronic search was performed using Elsevier’s Scopus database. From a total of 587 retrieved papers (published between 1997 and 2021), 399 were selected. For the data analysis and its visualization, the title of the articles, year of publication, countries, authors, journals, articles, and keywords were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and VOSviewer (a bibliometric software program). An increase in the number of publications was identified from 1997 to 2021. The United States (U.S.) published the most papers (84) and received the highest citations (3778), followed by India and Brazil. The Journal of Periodontology published the highest number of articles (39) that received the highest citations. The University of Kentucky from the U.S. published most of the papers related to salivary biomarkers that received the highest citations. Timo Sorsa published the most papers (14 papers), while Craig Miller was the highest cited author (754 citations). Concerning the highly cited papers, a paper by Micheal et al., published in 2010, received the highest citations (487 citations). “Saliva”, followed by “human”, were the most common keywords used by the authors in the papers related to salivary biomarkers. The findings of this analysis revealed an increase in salivary biomarker-related publications that positively influenced the number of citations each paper received. The U.S. produced the most publications that received the highest citations, and the University of Kentucky, U.S., was the most prominent. The articles were mostly published in the Journal of Periodontology and received the highest number of citations.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Research on clear aligner treatment (CAT) has increased in recent years. In this study, we aimed to perform a bibliometric and visualized analysis to identify and critically assess the 50 most highly cited articles on CAT. METHODS Web of Science was selected as a data source and consulted until March 2020 to identify all articles potentially relevant to the analysis. All the eligible articles were collected until 50 manuscripts were listed. Article-based parameters, journal-based parameters, and author-based parameters were registered to perform the bibliometric analysis. Keywords were automatically harvested from the selected articles to implement the visualized analysis. RESULTS The search identified a total of 378 articles; the total number of citations of the selected articles varied from 15 to 112. The average number of citations per year varied from 1.15 to 13.83. The predominant study design was clinical (31.7%). Over the 15 journals in which the most cited articles were published, the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics published the majority of those included in the list (14) and also received the greatest number of citations (671). A total of 195 authors contributed to the 50 most cited articles; a significant portion of them (26) were unaffiliated with academic institutions. A total of 184 keywords were gathered from the article list. CONCLUSIONS The number of citations on CAT is expected to grow steadily in parallel with the rising number of research projects. The present work identifies the most influential articles on CAT and their characteristics, placing emphasis on the journals, the authors, and the topics addressed.
