Abstract
Background Human adipose tissue-derived stem cells (hADSCs) exert potent immunosuppressive effects in the allogeneic transplantation treatment. In mouse model of allergic rhinitis (AR), ADSCs partially ameliorated AR. However, no study has evaluated the potential therapeutic effects of hADSC-derived extracellular vesicles (hADSC-EVs) on AR. Methods Female BALB/c mice were sensitized and challenged with ovalbumin (OVA) to induce AR. One day after the last nasal drop, each group received phosphate buffered saline (PBS) or hADSC-EVs treatment. Associated symptoms and biological changes were then assessed. Results hADSC-EV treatment significantly alleviated nasal symptoms, and reduced inflammatory infiltration. Serum levels of OVA-specific IgE, interleukin (IL)-4 and interferon (IFN)-γ were all significantly reduced. The mRNA levels of IL-4 and IFN-γ in the spleen also changed accordingly. The T helper (Th)1/Th2 cell ratio increased. The treatment efficacy index of hADSC-EV was higher than that of all human-derived MSCs in published reports on MSC treatment of AR. ADSC-EVs exhibited a greater therapeutic index in most measures when compared to our previous treatment involving ADSCs. Conclusion These results demonstrated that hADSC-EVs could ameliorate the symptoms of AR by modulating cytokine secretion and Th1/Th2 cell balance. hADSC-EVs could potentially be a viable therapeutic strategy for AR. Further animal studies are needed to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and to optimize potential clinical protocols.

Abstract
Background: Liver fibrogenesis will produce α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) expression and a continuous inflammatory process, seen through the neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR). The combination of mesenchymal stem cells and bovine colostrum is a novel strategy for repairing hepatic fibrosis tissue. To assess the combination of mesenchymal stem cells and bovine colostrum to reduce α-SMA expression and NLR levels in Wistar rats after 50% fibrotic liver resection.
Methods: Thirty-six Wistar male rats were randomly divided into 6 groups (sham, control, colostrum, MSCs, and colostrum and MSCs combination). Rats were injected with CCl4 for 8 weeks to induce liver fibrosis then underwent liver resection. NLR levels was determined using Hematology Analyzer, α-SMA expression of myofibroblast was analyzed by immunofluorescence staining.
Results: A significant reduction in NLR levels on day 3 in the treatment group I (1.10), treatment II (0.83), treatment III (0.93) compared to the control group. A significant reduction in NLR levels on day 10 in the treatment group I (0.76), treatment II (0.64), treatment III (0.54) compared to the control group. A significant decrease in α-SMA in treatment group I (0.134), treatment II (0.68), treatment III (0.42) compared to the control group.
Conclusion: In this study, it was found that α-SMA expression, NLR levels on the 3rd and 10th day of administration were reduced in group receiving combination of mesenchymal stem cells and bovine colostrum in the liver of post-resection Wistar rats by 50%.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a kind of widespread but unrecognised inflammatory disorder of nasal mucosa, characterised by itching, sneezing, runny nose and nasal congestion. The efficacy of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in the treatment of AR remains controversial. This protocol describes a systematic review and meta-analysis approach to assess the efficacy and safety of MSCs in the treatment of AR. METHODS AND ANALYSIS Eight databases (PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, VIP and Wanfang) will be searched from the database inception to 1 December 2023. All randomised controlled trials related to MSCs for AR will be included. The primary outcomes will be therapeutic effect, serum IgE index and Visual Analogue Scale score for nasal symptoms. Risk of bias will be assessed using the Cochrane Collaboration's tool for assessing risk of bias. Article selection, data extraction and risk of bias assessment will be performed in duplicate by two independent reviewers. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION Ethics approval is not required because individual patient data are not included. This protocol was registered in the international Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews on 22 January 2022. The systematic review and meta-analysis will be submitted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. The findings will also be disseminated through conference presentations.
