Abstract
Spina bifida is a congenital neural tube closure defect, with myelomeningocele being the most clinically significant open neural tube defect occurring in one in 1000 births worldwide as reported by Phillips LA et al. (Curr Probl Pediatr Adolesc Health Care 47(7):173-177, 2017) and Zerah M and Kulkarni AV (Handb Clin Neurol 112:975-991, 2013). With advances in fetal surgery, this condition can be corrected in utero. Despite such precision surgery, many complications may still arise, with consequent spinal cord tethering being a major one. When the roots of the spinal cord adhere to the spinal canal instead of floating freely within the dural sleeve within the canal, it is termed as "tethering" as discussed by Martínez-Lage JF et al. (Neurocirugia (Astur) 18(4):312-319, 2007). Tethering has a variety of complications, which are best avoided by analyzing the outcomes of the different dural substitutes and improving surgical techniques. This literature review evaluates the use of different dural substitutes in fetal and postnatal surgery, with their effects on spinal cord tethering. Finding a significant difference in spinal cord adherence outcomes between these two groups can help one introspect on the impact of ideal surgical techniques to be implemented, thus reducing subsequent tethering and other future surgical interventions.

Abstract
Objectives To determine whether assessment and decision-making around urinary symptoms in people with neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD) should depend on bladder management. Methods Three surveys of urinary symptoms associated with NLUTD (USQNBs) were designed specific to bladder management method for those who manage their bladders with indwelling catheter (IDC), intermittent catheter (IC), or voiding (V). Each was deployed one time to a national sample. Subject matter experts qualitatively assessed the wording of validated items to identify potential duplicates. Clustering by unsupervised structural learning was used to analyze duplicates. Each item was classified into mutually exclusive and exhaustive categories: clinically actionable ("fever"), bladder-specific ("suprapubic pain"), urine quality ("cloudy urine"), or constitutional ("leg pain"). Results A core of 10 "NLUTD urinary symptoms" contains three clinically actionable, bladder-specific, and urine quality items plus one constitutional item. There are 9 (IDC), 11 (IC), and 8 (V) items unique to these instruments. One decision-making protocol applies to all instruments. Conclusion Ten urinary symptoms in NLUTD are independent of bladder management, whereas a similar number depend on bladder management. We conclude that assessment of urinary symptoms for persons with NLUTD should be specific to bladder management method, like the USQNBs are.

Abstract
The spine has essential roles in supporting body weight, and passaging the neural elements between the body and the brain. In this study, we used integrated single-cell RNA sequencing and single-cell transposase-accessible chromatin sequencing analyses to reveal the cellular heterogeneity, lineage, and transcriptional regulatory network of the developing human spine. We found that EPYC + HAPLN1+ fibroblasts with stem cell characteristics could differentiate into chondrocytes by highly expressing the chondrogenic markers SOX9 and MATN4. Neurons could originate from neuroendocrine cells, and MEIS2 may be an essential transcription factor that promotes spinal neural progenitor cells to selectively differentiate into neurons during early gestation. Furthermore, the interaction of NRP2_SEMA3C and CD74_APP between macrophages and neurons may be essential for spinal cord development. Our integrated map provides a blueprint for understanding human spine development in the early and midgestational stages at single-cell resolution and offers a tool for investigating related diseases. scRNA-seq and scATAC-seq analyses reveal the developmental landscape of the fetal spine Chondrocytes may originate from EPYC + HAPLN1+ fibroblasts with stem cell characteristics Neurons may originate from neuroendocrine cells with regulation by MEIS2

Abstract
STUDY DESIGN This is a descriptive psychometrics study. OBJECTIVES Neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD), also called Neurogenic Bladder (NB), is a common and disruptive condition in a variety of neurologic diagnoses. Our team developed patient-centered instruments, Urinary Symptom Questionnaires for people with neurogenic bladder (USQNB), specific to people with NLUTD who manage their bladders with intermittent catheterization (IC), indwelling catheters (IDC), or who void (V). This article reports evidence of reliability of the IDC and V instruments. SETTING Online surveys completed by individuals in the United States with NLUTD due to spinal cord injury (SCI), or multiple sclerosis (MS) who manage their bladder with IDC (SCI, n = 306), or by voiding (SCI, n = 103; MS, n = 383). METHODS Reliability estimates were based on endorsement of the items on the USQNB-IDC and USQNB-V. Reliability evidence was representativeness of these symptoms for a national sample (by determining if endorsement > 10%); internal consistency estimates (by Cronbach's alpha and item correlation coefficient, ICC); and interrelatedness of the items (by inferred Bayesian network, BN). We also tested whether a one-factor conceptualization of "urinary symptoms in NLUTD" was supportable for either instrument. RESULTS All items were endorsed by >20% of our samples. Urine quality symptoms tended to be the most commonly endorsed on both instruments. Cronbach's alpha and ICC estimates were high (>0.74), but not suggestive of redundancy. BNs showed interpretable associations among the items, and did not discover uninterpretable or unexpected associations. Neither instrument fit a one-factor model, as expected. CONCLUSIONS The USQNB-IDC and USQNB-V instruments show sufficient, multidimensional reliability for implementation and further study.

Abstract
AIMS To identify the components of transition programs for the successful transition of adolescents and young adults with spina bifida and to synthesize the literature findings on the transition outcomes of the programs. DESIGN Mixed-methods systematic review. DATA SOURCES PubMed, CINAHL, PsycINFO, and Web of Science (January 2010-June 2019). REVIEW METHODS The methodological quality was appraised using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool and Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool. Extracted data were summarized as tables. For data synthesis, a sequential explanatory design was used. RESULTS Eight studies were selected. The main components of the transition programs identified the participants' characteristics and intervention strategies. Quantitative studies reported only positive transition outcomes, including independence and satisfaction with social support and transition experience, whereas negative outcomes such as negative experiences communicating with providers and uncertainty were further reported in qualitative studies. CONCLUSION For development and implementation of a successful transition program, it is necessary to assess the characteristics and needs of the participants and incorporate their needs with input from parents and trained healthcare providers. IMPACT When planning transition programs, a comprehensive effort that encompasses program development, implementation, and evaluation, based on developmental tasks and long-term perspectives, is needed. Transition program that reflect the cultural characteristics of Eastern and developing countries are needed.
