Abstract
The embryonal subtype of rhabdomyosarcoma is the most frequent, commonly seen in children. However, it is uncommon to discover this subtype in adults, especially in the larynx. We presented a rare case of a 63 years old man who presented with worsening hoarseness, dysphagia for solids, and dyspnea and was later diagnosed with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma of the larynx.

Abstract
Objective:To explore the clinical manifestations,the type of pathology, treatment and prognosis of laryngeal rhabdomyosarcoma, and to enhance the understanding of the clinical characteristics of the disease, while improving the diagnosis rateand reducing the misdiagnosis rate, in order to explore effective diagnosis and treatment methods. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 5 cases of laryngeal rhabdomyosarcoma treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from May 2015 to May 2021. Results:All 5 cases of laryngeal rhabdomyosarcoma were misdiagnosed in the early stage. with tumors mostly occurring in the vocal cords and appearing as smooth mass. The clinical symptoms were mostly hoarseness. According to pathological classification, three cases were embryonic type, one case was polymorphic type, and one case was spindle type.Three patients died due to tumor recurrence, one patient had multiple systemic metastases, and another patient who underwent surgical resection in the early stage and supplemented with postoperative radiotherapy and chemotherapyhas been followed up to date without recurrence. Conclusion:Laryngeal rhabdomyosarcoma has low incidence rate, high malignancy degree and poor prognosis. It is easy to be misdiagnosed as a benign mass. Extensive surgical resection combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy should be performed as soon as possible after diagnosis.

Abstract
(1) Background: Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is the most common soft tissue sarcoma in the first two decades of life. One third of cases appear in the head and neck, with 60% of these being embryonal type. RMS is extremely rare in adults, comprising only 1% of adult malignancies, and of those, only 3.3% are rhabdomyosarcomas. (2) Case report: A 46 y.o. male presented with a 1 cm exophytic pediculated painless lesion on the dorsum of his tongue, with progressive growth for 3 months. An excisional biopsy revealed an "embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma with fusocellular areas, with negative rearrangement for gen FOXO1A, negative MDM2 (only focal positivity), and positive INI-1". Subsequent contrast-enhanced MRI concluded the presence of a lesion with imprecise margins in the right half-tongue, 15 × 8 × 7 mm (longitudinal × transverse × craniocaudal), compatible with a sarcoma. The patient underwent a partial centrolingual glossectomy followed by reconstruction with a buccinator muscle local flap. After surgery, he received chemotherapy with eight cycles of VAC (vincristine, actinomycin, and cyclophosphamide) protocol. The patient is now disease free after 42 months, with good tongue function. (3) Discussion and conclusions: Embryonal RMS is an extremely rare sarcoma in adults, and the location in the tongue is even more exceptional (only two more similar cases are reported in the literature). The prognosis in adults is significantly poorer than in children. A complete margin-free resection with an adequate chemotherapy protocol is the treatment of choice in cases such as these.

Abstract
Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) of the larynx in adults is an extremely rare diagnosis with insidious onset and progression. Only six reports (including this one) have been documented in the literature. Clinical presentation is dependent on the site, size, subtype of ERMS and growth rate. Hoarseness is the usual first symptom, followed by stridor and dyspnoea, with dysphagia being late in onset. Accurate staging and risk stratification is necessary to avoid overtreating/undertreating patients and should be guided by local Head and Neck/Sarcoma Multidisciplinary Teams. Treatment has moved away from radical therapeutic regimens to less-invasive, organ-preserving therapies. Long-term follow-up is required due to the risk of late recurrence.

Abstract
Background Laryngeal rhabdomyosarcomas (RMSs) mainly occurred in children, while were extremely rare in adults. Consequently, less information was available to guide clinicians to manage adult RMSs in larynx. Case presentation A 42-year-old man presented with a 2-year history of gradually worsening hoarseness. Then, he underwent a surgery with suspension laryngoscope with initially being diagnosed as vocal cord cyst. Unexpectedly, the lesion was proved to be embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS), pathologically. Next, he underwent chemoradiotherapy, while the tumor relapsed 18 months after the last treatment. Subsequently, a vertical hemilaryngectomy and a right selective neck dissection was performed, and the chemotherapy according to the anticancer drug sensitivity in vitro was arranged. Until the last check-up 18 months after chemotherapy, the patient did not display clinical or radiological signs of local recurrence and metastases. Conclusions Misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis of laryngeal RMSs might appear when tumors presented as smooth protuberance. We reported the first case of laryngeal RMSs in an adult with the multidisciplinary strategy based on the chemosensitivity assay in vitro. Furthermore, a systematic review of the literature was also discussed, highlighting the initial diagnostic pitfalls and subsequent management problems that may occur with this uncommon tumor.

Abstract
A 24-year-old man was admitted to our Otolaryngology Department following a head and neck CT scan performed for cranial trauma that showed a bulky neoformation in the right parapharyngeal space. Magnetic resonance imaging confirmed the presence of an oval formation with sharp margins and colliquative areas of necrosis involving the right parapharyngeal space. The mass was completely excised by a latero-cervical approach. Based on histological features and immunohistochemical analysis, a diagnosis of embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma of the parapharyngeal space was made. The incidental detection at this site of an embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma has never been reported in adult males.
