Abstract
BACKGROUND Blepharoptosis may result in an unattractive appearance and vision problems. According to the severity of ptosis, patients may undergo correction surgery using upper eyelid retractors. The conventional incision for surgical procedures was the double-eyelid incision, potentially resulting in an obvious and unnatural scar or long-lasting edema and prolonged recovery time. OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to introduce a supraciliary incision as an alternative to the double-eyelid incision for blepharoptosis correction that creates a scarless, natural appearance with a quick recovery time. METHODS From June 2019 to June 2021, 32 patients (36 eyelids) underwent blepharoptosis correction through a supraciliary incision. MRD1, the height of the eyelid fissure, and the patient's satisfaction with the shape and scar as well as postoperative complications (eyelid insufficiency, conjunctival prolapse, inadequate correction of ptosis, and excessive correction of ptosis). RESULTS All 32 patients (36 eyelids) were followed up for 6 to 18 months, with an average follow-up of 11.6 months. The postoperative satisfaction rate was 96.43%. There was no overcorrection, but one patient (1 eyelid, 2.8%) was under correction that required secondary correction. One patient (1 eyelid, 2.8%) experienced conjunctival prolapse. Sixteen patients showed lagophthalmos early after surgery, in which one patient experienced early-stage keratitis and completely recovered within two months. CONCLUSION Blepharoptosis correction via supraciliary incision allows for broader indications and fewer surgical scars without disrupting eyelid integrity, resulting in quick recovery after surgery. Abstract
Probiotic bacteria, such as Lactobacilli, have been shown to elicit beneficial effects in various tissue regeneration applications. However, their formulation as living bacteria is challenging, and their therapeutic use as proliferating microorganisms is especially limited in immunocompromised patients. Here, we propose a new therapeutic avenue to circumvent these shortcomings by developing a bacteriomimetic hydrogel based on membrane vesicles (MVs) produced by Lactobacilli. We coupled MVs from Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus casei, respectively, to the surface of synthetic microparticles, and embedded those bacteriomimetics into a pharmaceutically applicable hydrogel matrix. The wound microenvironment changes during the wound healing process, including adaptions of the pH and changes of the oxygen supply. We thus performed proteomic characterization of the MVs harvested under different culture conditions and identified characteristic proteins related to the biological effect of the probiotics in every culture state. In addition, we highlight a number of unique proteins expressed and sorted into the MVs for every culture condition. Using different in vitro models, we demonstrated that increased cell migration and anti-inflammatory effects of the bacteriomimetic microparticles were dependent on the culture condition of the secreting bacteria. Finally, we demonstrated the bacteriomimetic hydrogel's ability to improve healing in an in vivo mouse full-thickness wound model. Our results create a solid basis for the future application of probiotic-derived vesicles in the treatment of inflammatory dispositions and stimulates the initiation of further preclinical trials.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the collagen type I/III ratio and scarring in patients who underwent immediate reconstruction with the round block technique (RBT) after breast conservation surgery. Seventy-eight patients were included, and demographic and clinical characteristics were recorded. The collagen type I/III ratio was measured using immunofluorescence staining and digital imaging, and scarring was assessed using the Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS). The mean VSS scores were 1.92 ± 2.01 and 1.79 ± 1.89, as assessed by two independent plastic surgeons, with good reliability of the scores. A significant positive correlation was found between VSS and the collagen type I/III ratio (r = 0.552, p < 0.01), and a significant negative correlation was found between VSS and the collagen type III content (r = −0.326, p < 0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the collagen type I/III ratio had a significant positive effect on VSS (β = 0.415, p = 0.028), whereas the collagen type I and collagen type III content had no significant effect on VSS. These findings suggest that the collagen type I/III ratio is associated with scar development in patients undergoing RBT after breast conservation surgery. Further research is needed to develop a patient-specific scar prediction model based on genetic factors affecting the collagen type I/III ratio.

Abstract
Currently, thyroid surgery is the most common and safe operation worldwide. However, thyroidectomy is still not free from the risks of complications and death due to the anatomical structure and physiological function particularity of the thyroid gland. Postoperative complications affect the life quality and life safety of patients after surgery. The common complications include hypoparathyroidism (HP), recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) injury, injury to the external branch of the superior laryngeal nerve (EBSLN), postoperative bleeding (PB), thoracic duct injury, laryngeal edema, tracheospasm, tracheal injury, and esophageal injury. A severe complication, such as dyspnea, asphyxia, or thyroid crisis, might cause the death of the patient. Therefore, every thyroid surgeon's responsibility is to remain alert and aware of the occurrence of various intraoperative and postoperative complications and exercise effective prevention and treatment. This is closely related to the advancement in thyroid disease research, the increase in local anatomy knowledge, the standardization of surgical approaches, the improvement in operating skills, the application of new technologies, and the emphasis on specialty training. In addition, many complications that effect patients are much better tolerated if the patient has appropriate expectations of what the complications are and how to treat them. Open communication between surgeon and patient optimizes the potential negative effects that complications may have on patients' quality of life. This paper discusses the prevention, recognition and therapy of intraoperative and postoperative complications in thyroid surgery.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Great auricular nerve schwannoma is extremely rare. Herein, we reported the first case of schwannoma arising from great auricular nerve trunk. CASE PRESENTATION A 29 year-old female complained of a slowly-growing superfacial neck mass for 6 months. MRI revealed a high possibility of schwannoma. Although the patient underwent successfully surgical removal of the tumor, ipsilateral numbness of both auricle and peripheral skin developed due to traction of the nerve. Immunohistochemistry staining confirmed the diagnosis of schwannoma. And the patient has been followed regularly. CONCLUSION For superficial cervical tumors, the cervical plexus cutaneous nerve should be considered if MRI and other imaging findings suggest neurogenic tumors.
