Abstract
Nature-based interventions (NBIs) are activities, strategies, or programs taking place in natural settings, such as exercising in greenspaces, to improve the health and well-being of people by integrating the benefits of nature exposure with healthy behaviours. Current reviews on NBIs do not report the effects on different groups of physical health conditions. The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to identify and synthesize the evidence of the effect of NBIs on physical health outcomes and biomarkers of physical health conditions. Overall, 20,201 studies were identified through searching MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, SPORTDiscus, and CENTRAL databases up to June 7, 2024. Inclusion criteria were: 1) randomized controlled intervention studies; 2) population with a physical health condition; 3) NBIs vs. different intervention or no intervention; and 4) measuring physical health outcomes and/or biomarkers. Twenty-six studies were included in the review, 15 of which contributed to the meta-analysis. Compared to control groups, NBIs groups showed significant improvements in: diastolic blood pressure (MD -3.73 mmHg [-7.46 to -0.00], I2 = 62%) and heart rate (MD -7.44 bpm [-14.81 to -0.06], I2 = 0%) for cardiovascular conditions, fatigue (SMD -0.50 [-0.82 to -0.18], I2 = 16%) for central nervous system conditions, and body fat percentage (MD -3.61% [-5.05 to -2.17], I2 = 0%) for endocrine conditions. High effect heterogeneity was found in several analyses and the included studies had moderate-to-high risk of bias (RoB). The non-significant outcomes showed a direction of effect in favour of NBI groups for cardiovascular, central nervous system, endocrine, musculoskeletal, and respiratory conditions. This review found some beneficial effects in favour of NBIs for health outcomes in at least three condition groups though RoB and inconsistent effects limited some interpretations. NBIs are promising therapies that healthcare professionals can consider integrating into clinical practice.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE We aimed to analyze and summarize the available scientific evidence on the benefits of Nordic walking for people with chronic pain and fatigue. LITERATURE SURVEY This systematic review adhered to PRISMA guidelines and conducted a comprehensive search across five databases using the PICO strategy. METHODOLOGY Inclusion criteria encompassed randomized trials evaluating Nordic walking for pain and fatigue. Two authors independently screened studies, extracted data, and assessed methodological quality using the PEDro scale. SYNTHESIS A total of 14 studies were included, with sample sizes ranging from 20 to 136 participants. The methodological quality of the included studies varied from fair (five studies) to good (nine studies). The interventions consisted of supervised Nordic walking sessions lasting 6 to 24 weeks, with a frequency of 2 to 4 days per week and duration of 25 to 75 min. The results of this review suggest that Nordic walking had beneficial effects in six of the eight studies that analyzed participant fatigue. However, Nordic walking did not show greater beneficial effects on fatigue than walking (two studies) or than not performing physical activity (one study). Additionally, six of the nine studies that examined the effects of Nordic walking on participants' perceptions of pain showed beneficial results. However, five studies that compared Nordic walking with control groups did not find any significant inter-group differences on pain. CONCLUSIONS Based on our findings, Nordic walking exercise programs provide a potentially efficient method for alleviating pain and fatigue in people with chronic conditions. Its straightforwardness and ease of learning make it accessible to a broad spectrum of participants, which can result in higher adherence rates and lasting positive effects.

Abstract
The aim of the study was to assess the impact of two lengths of Nordic walking (NW) training interventions combined with time-restricted eating (TRE) on improving body-composition parameters, lipid profiles, and levels of selected adipokines in women with elevated body mass. Overweight and obese women (n = 55, age: 21-85) were recruited. Four groups were selected: 6 weeks (SG6, n = 13) and 12 weeks intervention (SG12, n = 13); and two control groups: CON6 (n = 13) and CON12 (n = 13). The training sessions took place three times a week (60 min each) and were conducted outdoors under the supervision of a professional coach. The training intensity was determined individually. The extended NW program combined with TRE induced a significant weight reduction in SG12 by 1.96 kg (p = 0.010) and fat tissue by 1.64 kg (p = 0.05). The proposed interventions did not affect LBM, TBW [kg], VFA, and lipid profile. The LDL/HDL ratio changed with a small size effect. The leptin concentration differed between groups (p = 0.006), but not over time. For resistin, the differentiating factor was time (p = 0.019), with lower results observed after the intervention. The change in leptin concentration was negatively correlated with its baseline concentration (p = 0.025). Extended to 12 weeks, this intervention allows for an improvement in body composition. Neither 6 nor 12 weeks of training and fasting affected the lipoprotein profile. It is, therefore, indicated to recommend prolonged training protocols and to inform patients that beneficial effects will be seen only after prolonged use of training and time-restricted eating.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of the present systematic review was to investigate the effects of voluntary walking interventions in persons with multiple sclerosis (pwMS). For this purpose, we developed a framework to describe the components of walking interventions. DATA SOURCES Two databases (MEDLINE/PubMed and EMBASE) were searched in January 2023. STUDY SELECTION Included studies enrolled pwMS and evaluated walking interventions with a duration of 2 weeks or longer. Further, they evaluated at least one walking-related outcome. Both RCTs and non-controlled studies were enrolled. DATA EXTRACTION Data were extracted using a customized spreadsheet, which included detailed information on patient characteristics, interventions, outcomes, and results. Based on the extracted results, the effect sizes (ES, Hedge's g) of the walking interventions were calculated if possible. The methodological quality of the included studies and their reporting was determined using the TESTEX evaluation tool. DATA SYNTHESIS Data from a total of n = 200 pwMS was included from N = 7 RCT´s (from 3 we used within-group data) and N = 5 single-group studies. On average 91.7 ± 9.9 % of the planned walking sessions were attended, 8.7 ± 10.5 % of the participants dropped out, and very few adverse events occurred. Walking interventions improved walking performance during short distance walk tests (ES ranging from -0.21 to -0.72, "walking time") and long distance walk tests (ES ranging from 0.27 to 0.72, "walking distance"). CONCLUSIONS Voluntary walking interventions appear to be safe and effective at improving walking performance in pwMS. However, well-powered walking intervention studies are needed to confirm these promising effects. The simplicity of walking interventions makes them highly relevant for ambulatory pwMS.
