Congenital Absence of the Left Circumflex Artery Presenting With Inferoposterior Wall Myocardial Infarction Due to Stenosis of the Super Dominant Right Coronary Artery: A Rare Case

Aberrant Right Coronary Artery from the Left Coronary Sinus Presenting with Inferior Wall Myocardial Infarction

Coronaries arise normally from the aortic sinus which consists of one anterior and two posterior cusps of which the right coronary artery (RCA) arises from the anterior cusp and the left coronary artery arises from the left posterior cusp. Abnormal origin of coronary arteries is very rare and counts for about 2.33% of prevalence and below 1% incidence and are comparatively very difficult to diagnose through routine investigations. Till date, only one case has been reported in the literature where the culprit vessel was the victim as seen in our case. We report a case of a 68-year-old male, who underwent coronary angiography for his anginal chest pain, was diagnosed with coronary artery disease with an "abnormally arising RCA" from the left coronary cusp with a proximal stenotic lesion in the anomalously arising RCA, which was confirmed on multidetector computed tomography three-dimensional reconstruction volume-rendered imaging.

Superior Mesenteric Artery Stenosis Presenting as Chest Pain: Danger in Disguise

Chronic mesenteric ischemia (CMI), often known as abdominal angina, is a syndrome caused by a severe reduction in arterial flow to the digestive loops. It is an uncommon and underdiagnosed entity with potential severe adversities, such as acute mesenteric ischemia (AMI). Patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) are shown to also have mesenteric artery stenosis (MAS). By identifying risk variables, it may be possible to screen for mesenteric artery involvement in patients with CAD who exhibit an elevated risk. Here, we present a unique case of a person with severe retrosternal chest pain with postprandial angina, which turned out to be superior mesenteric artery (SMA) ostial stenosis.

Unraveling the Trio of Interrupted Descending Aorta, Aortic Stenosis, and Bicuspid Aortic Valve: A Complex Cardiovascular Conundrum

Interrupted descending aorta (IDA) is an extremely rare congenital heart defect characterized by a complete loss of connection between the ascending and descending aorta. This condition is typically diagnosed in infancy or early childhood, but there have been very few cases reported in adulthood. Here, we present a unique case of an IDA in a 16-year-old patient with concomitant aortic stenosis (AS) and bicuspid aortic valve (BAV), making it an extremely rare scenario. This case highlights the importance of early diagnosis and appropriate management in patients with an IDA, particularly when in association with other cardiovascular abnormalities.
