Sociodemographic profile and gestacional aspects of women with hiv/aids in Curitiba, Brazil

OBJECTIVE

To describe the sociodemographic and gestational profile of HIV-positive women in Curitiba-PR, years 2018-2020.

METHOD

Observational, cross-sectional research, with data obtained from the Information System of Diseases of Notification of Pregnant Women. Data were analyzed for consistency exploration, description and analysis.

RESULTS

The sample consisted mostly of women aged 13-30 years, white and with incomplete elementary school. Prenatal care was performed by 93.8% of pregnant women, 66.1% of whom knew their serological status before prenatal care and 45% received notification in the first gestational trimester. Access to antiretroviral medication occurred for 82.4% of pregnant women and for 74.6% the pregnancy outcome was alive newborns. The statistical variables associated with prenatal care were pregnancy evolution, ART prophylaxis, type of delivery and ART at delivery (p<0.00).

CONCLUSION

The pregnant women in the sample presented desired gestational indicators. The collected data allowed describing the sample's profile and evaluating the performance of the health policy for pregnant women.

Relationship between taste perception and use of upper complete dentures

AIMS

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the taste perception in patients with upper complete dentures.

METHODS AND RESULTS

One hundred seventy male and female patients (45-83 years old) upper denture wearers were evaluated for their gustatory function by the paper strips technique in relation to the four basic tastes. The taste test was performed with and without the presence of the denture on the palate. Through Shapiro-Wilk and Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests, the results were analyzed by their normal distribution. The t-test for paired samples was used to evaluate if there was a statistical difference on the taste perception and itself revealed that there is a significant difference (p < 0.01) when the taste perception was analyzed for the absence and presence of the prosthesis (alone and compared) (p < 0.01). The results revealed that patients with dentures had great difficulty to recognize the bitter taste, followed by the salty, sweet, and sour.

CONCLUSION

The presence of the denture was able to modify the perception of taste when compared to its absence, especially for the bitter taste.

A IMPLANTAÇÃO DA SAÚDE BUCAL NO PROGRAMA CONSULTÓRIO NA RUA EM CURITIBA-PR

A população em situação de rua, ao longo dos anos, sofreu um processo de exclusão social, que os impossibilitou o acesso ao sistema de saúde de forma convencional, seja por falta de documentos de identificação, falta de sensibilidade da equipe ou a inabilidade de um único local em atender à variedade de problemas apresentados pelos moradores de rua. Também vale ressaltar que essa população apresenta diversas demandas e necessidade de saúde acumuladas, destacando dentre elas os problemas de saúde bucal. Deste modo, o presente estudo tem como objetivo relatar a experiência da inclusão da saúde bucal no Programa Consultório na Rua (PCR) de Curitiba-PR. Para atingir tal finalidade utilizou-se de pesquisa documental e entrevista semiestruturada para análise qualitativa dos dados. Concluiu-se que a inclusão de profissionais da saúde bucal na equipe multiprofissional do Programa Consultório na Rua tem sido de fundamental importância, pois permite estreitamento do vínculo e maior adesão ao tratamento por parte da população em situação de rua. A experiência de Curitiba-PR tem revelado que a aproximação da saúde bucal a população em situação de rua, é um importante fator no resgaste da autoestima e reinserção social dessa população.

AVANÇOS E RETROCESSOS NO ESTABELECIMENTO DE INDICADORES DE SAÚDE BUCAL 2007 A 2019 NO BRASIL

O Ministério da Saúde durante as últimas décadas vem recomendando o uso de indicadores para a avaliação e a monitoração da atenção em saúde bucal, com o propósito de estimular gestores do sistema de saúde a incorporarem nas suas práticas na organização e desempenho dos serviços de saúde. O objetivo do presente artigo foi analisar a evolução dos indicadores de saúde bucal do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). Para isso, foi realizada pesquisa documental com base nas resoluções, portarias e manuais governamentais editados no período analisado de 2007 a 2018. Constatou-se que mudanças foram identificadas ao longo dos anos, caracterizadas pela inclusão e exclusão de indicadores de saúde bucal e por uma redução drástica nos últimos 2 anos, o que pode comprometer realmente na avaliação em saúde bucal nos municípios brasileiros e na qualidade dos serviços ofertados à população.

Perception of taste in HIV-positive individuals in treatment antiretroviral: results of a case-control study

OBJECTIVE

The aim of this study was to evaluate the perception of taste in HIV-infected patients.

METHOD

One hundred males and females (11 to 60 years old) were divided into two groups (50 patients infected by HIV and 50 controls) and evaluated for gustatory function.

RESULTS

The results revealed that the mean score in the evaluation of taste was significantly lower in individuals with HIV when compared to controls for both sides of the tongue (p < 0.05). Patients with HIV infection had difficulty recognizing the bitter taste, followed by salty and sweet. When each side of the tongue was evaluated separately and compared, the Wilcoxon test showed that there was no significant difference on the tongue of individuals with HIV. The prevalence of hypogeusia was 20% in individuals with this disease.

CONCLUSIONS

Individuals with HIV infection may have a deficit in taste that can affect your general and oral health.
