Abstract
Peritonitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus poses a severe threat to patients with end-stage renal failure. Treating multidrug-resistant S. aureus infections requires the use of antibiotics with diverse mechanisms of action. Caseinolytic protease P (ClpP) is a promising antibacterial target; however, selective activation of S. aureus ClpP (SaClpP) over human ClpP (HsClpP) remains challenging. We previously identified (R)-ZG197 as a selective SaClpP agonist, but its potency was suboptimal. Herein, we develop (R)-ZG197 analogs through a structure-guided approach and examine their structure-activity relationships. Notably, ZY39 demonstrates improved activation of SaClpP and superior binding affinity. Interestingly, while ZY39 facilitates the enzymatic hydrolysis of SaClpP and HsClpP in vitro, it does not target HsClpP in cellular environments. Furthermore, ZY39 effectively inhibits the growth of multidrug-resistant S. aureus strains and shows excellent therapeutic efficacy in a murine model of peritonitis. These findings highlight ZY39 as a promising SaClpP agonist for combating staphylococcal infections.

Abstract
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus is a ubiquitous pathogen, posing a serious threat to human health worldwide. Thus, there is a high demand for antibiotics with distinct targets. Caseinolytic protease P (ClpP) is a promising target for combating staphylococcal infections; however, selectively activating S. aureus ClpP (SaClpP) rather than Homo sapiens ClpP (HsClpP) remains challenging. Herein, we rationally design and identify ZG297 by structure-based strategy. It binds and activates SaClpP instead of HsClpP. This is due to differentiated ligand binding attributed to crossed "tyrosine/histidine" amino acid pairs. ZG297 substantially inhibits the growth of a broad panel of S. aureus strains in vitro, outperforming the selective (R)-ZG197 agonist. ZG297 also functions as a potent antibiotic against multidrug-resistant S. aureus infections in Galleria mellonella larvae, zebrafish, murine skin, and thigh infection models. Collectively, we demonstrate that ZG297 is a safer and more potent antistaphylococcal agent than acyldepsipeptide 4 and (R)-ZG197.

Abstract
Gastric cancer is a prevalent malignancy of the digestive system, and traditional laparoscopic radical gastrectomy remains a crucial treatment modality. However, the abdominal wound associated with specimen removal during this procedure conflicts with contemporary concept of minimally invasive surgery. Natural orifice specimen extraction surgery (NOSES) is an emerging minimally invasive surgical technique that has gained increasing utilization in patients with gastrointestinal tumors, owing to its benefits of reduced wound, accelerated postoperative recovery, and diminished postoperative pain. In recent years, the extensive application of NOSES technology for colorectal cancer in China has provided theoretical support for the minimally invasive treatment of gastric cancer. With the standardization of community health examinations in China, the incidence of early gastric cancer diagnoses is expected to rise, making NOSES surgery the likely future trend in the surgical treatment for early gastric cancer. However, this area remains under-explored both domestically and internationally. This paper aims to synthesize prior literature and review the historical development, current research status, advantages and disadvantages, technical challenges, and future directions of completely laparoscopic radical treatment of distal gastric cancer utilizing NOSES.

Abstract
Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is a foodborne zoonotic pathogen that is supposed to be one of the most common causes of acute viral hepatitis. However, HEV infection has been recently associated with a wide spectrum of extrahepatic manifestations, particularly neurological disorders. Previous studies have shown that HEV is able to cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and induce inflammatory response of the central nervous system. However, the pathogenesis of HEV-induced neuroinflammation and tissue injury of the central nervous system have yet to be fully elucidated. In this study, activation of NLRP3 inflammasome following HEV infection were investigated. In a gerbil model infected by HEV, brain histopathological changes including gliosis, neuronophagia and neuron injury were observed and expression of NLRP3, caspase-1, IL-1β and IL-18 were elevated. Brain microvascular endothelial cells (BMECs) are key components of the BBB that protects the brain from various challenges. Following HEV infection, virus-like particles range from 30 to 40 nm in diameter were observed in human BMECs (hBMECs). Enhanced expression levels of NLRP3 and subsequent ASC, caspase-1, IL-1β and IL-18 were detected in infected cells. Treatment with MCC950 alleviated HEV infection induced activation of NLRP3 inflammasome, mitochondrial damage and VE-cadherin degradation. The findings provide new insights into HEV-associated neuroinflammation. Moreover, targeting NLRP3 inflammasome signalling is a promising therapeutic in HEV-induced neurological disorder.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the correlation between impulse oscillometry system examination indicators and conventional pulmonary ventilation function. Methods: The pulmonary ventilation function data of 10 883 patients from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022 at Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology were included. The one-second rate [ratio of forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1) to forced vital capacity (FVC)] measured as a percentage of the predicted value was ≥92% for the control group (n=3 478) and <92% for the pulmonary obstruction group (n=7 405). The obstruction group was subdivided into five groups according to the degree of pulmonary dysfunction: mild group (n=3 938),moderate group (n=1 142),oderate-severe group (n=917),severe group (n=737),and extremely severe group (n=671). Conventional pulmonary ventilatory function FVC, FEV1, one-second rate, and forced expired flow at 50% of FVC (MEF50%), forced expired flow at 75% FVC (MEF25%), maximal mid-expiratory flow (MMEF), peak expiratory flow (PEF), and pulsed oscillation pulmonary function test were detected in both groups of patients. Impedance at 5 Hz (Z5) means total respiratory resistance, resistance at 5 Hz (R5) means total airway resistance, reactance at 5 Hz (X5) indicates the elastic recoil of the peripheral airways, and resistance at 20 Hz (R20) represents resistance of the central airways. R5-R20 reflects resistance in the small airways. Additionally, peripheral resistance (Rp), respiratory resonance frequency (Frex), and area under the reactance curve (Ax) were also measured. Correlation between the indicators of the two groups and the sensitivity and specificity of the impulse oscillometry system parameters for the diagnosis of obstructive pulmonary ventilation dysfunction were analyzed. Results: Pulmonary function force expiratory volume in the first second as a percentage of predicted value (FEV1%Pre) [80.10 (54.95,97.10)%],one-second rate [62.43(48.67, 67.02)%],MEF50% [1.33 (0.62,1.97)L/s],MEF25% [0.28 (0.17,0.41)L/s], MMEF [0.85 (0.43,1.29)L/s],and PEF [5.64 (3.73,7.50)]L/s in the obstruction group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The differences within the subgroups of the obstruction group were also significant (P<0.05). Pulsed oscillation Z5 [0.42 (0.33,0.55)kPa·L-1·s-1],Rp [0.25 (0.20,0.45)kPa·L-1·s-1], R5 [0.39 (0.31,0.49)kPa·L-1·s-1], R20 [0.28 (0.24,0.34)kPa·L-1·s-1], R5-R20 [0.09 (0.05,0.17)kPa·L-1·s-1],Frex [16.32 (13.07,20.84)Hz], and Ax [0.67 (0.28,1.64)] indices in the obstruction group were significantly higher than those in the control group. X5 [-0.14 (-0.23, -0.10)kPa·L-1·s-1] was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Z5, Rp, X5, R5, R5-R20, Frex, and Ax were statistically significant between different degrees of obstruction in the obstruction group (P<0.05). The impulse oscillometry system parameters Z5, Rp, R5, R20, R5-20, Frex, and Ax were negatively correlated with the indices of conventional pulmonary ventilation (r=-0.21-0.68, P<0.05), and the parameter X5 was positively correlated with the indices of conventional pulmonary ventilation (r=0.41-0.68, P<0.05). The pulsed oscillation pulmonary function test parameters X5 (58.60%-95.68%) and Ax (57.08%-98.06%) presented the best sensitivity; X5 (86.29%-98.82%), Frex (86.69%-94.71%), and Ax (88.10%-98.53%) displayed the best specificity; and R20 presented the worst sensitivity and specificity. The sensitivity and specificity were slightly better in female patients than in male patients. Conclusion: The technical parameters of the impulse oscillometry system showed significant correlation with relevant indices of conventional pulmonary ventilation function detection. These well reflect the changes of different degrees of pulmonary ventilation function and have greater significance for reference in evaluating the degree of pulmonary function impairment.

Abstract
With features such as high-definition magnification of the surgical field, filtering of hand tremor, and robotic arm with multi-degree-of-freedom rotatable wrist, surgical robot has unique advantages in various aspects of digestive tract reconstruction (DTR) after robotic gastrectomy (RG). Currently, there is still controversy about the selection and standardized application of DTR after RG for gastric cancer. To standardize the selection and implementation of DTR, we describe various aspects of quality control before DTR, selection of indications, principles of DTR, and prevention and management of postoperative complications of DTR. We also comment on the operation details of robotic-assisted and total robotic DTR, including manual suture, linear anastomosis with linear stapler, and circular anastomosis with circular stapler. Meanwhile, we propose our prospects on the potential application of new technology in robotic DTR for gastric cancer.

Abstract
BACE1 has been regarded as an essential drug design target for treating Alzheimer's disease (AD). Multiple independent Gaussian accelerated molecular dynamics simulations (GaMD), deep learning (DL), and molecular mechanics general Born surface area (MM-GBSA) method are integrated to elucidate the molecular mechanism underlying the effect of D93 and D289 protonation on binding of inhibitors OV6 and 4B2 to BACE1. The GaMD trajectory-based DL successfully identifies significant function domains. Dynamic analysis shows that the protonation of D93 and D289 strongly affects the structural flexibility and dynamic behaviour of BACE1. Free energy landscapes indicate that inhibitor-bound BACE1s have more conformational states in the protonated states than the wild-type (WT) BACE1, and show more binding poses of inhibitors. Binding affinities calculated using the MM-GBSA method indicate that the protonation of D93 and D289 highly disturbs the binding ability of inhibitors to BACE1. In addition, the protonation of two residues significantly affects the hydrogen bonding interactions (HBIs) of OV6 and 4B2 with BACE1, altering their binding activity to BACE1. The binding hot spots of BACE1 recognized by residue-based free energy estimations provide rational targeting sites for drug design towards BACE1. This study is anticipated to provide theoretical aids for drug development towards treatment of AD.

Abstract
The liquid state thermophysical properties and amorphous solidification kinetics of Fe_{50-x}Co_{x}Cr_{14}Mo_{14}C_{9}B_{8}Tm_{5} (x=10, 15, 20, and 25) alloys were explored by electromagnetic and electrostatic levitation techniques. It was found that the surface tension of liquid alloys with Fe contents below 30 at. % had a strong temperature dependence. The high surface tension led to a sharp increase in the interfacial free-energy penalty. A high nucleation barrier was formed inside the melt, which greatly inhibited the nucleation rate. The liquid viscosity revealed the strong liquid feature of this alloy series, which became the dominant kinetic factor determining their solidification mechanisms. The high viscosity hindered atomic diffusion and delayed nucleation. The long crystallizing incubation time of Fe_{30}Co_{20}Cr_{14}Mo_{14}C_{9}B_{8}Tm_{5} ensured a strong glass-forming ability and a low critical cooling rate of 2.11×10^{3}Ks^{-1}. As a result, a bulk metallic glass rod with an 8-mm diameter was successfully prepared by a convenient casting procedure. This rod could remain in a glassy state at a higher temperature and over a wider temperature range due to its high glass-transition temperature and large undercooled liquid region. The apparent activation energy for nucleation was derived as 463.8 kJmol^{-1} according to the nonisothermal crystallization kinetics, indicating that the bulk metallic glass had to absorb a large amount of energy to overcome the potential barriers before nucleation and thus exhibited excellent thermal stability.

Abstract
The risk of acquiring new intramammary infections is high at the end of lactation, especially for the high milk-producing dairy animals. Resistance to bacterial infection increases following the completion of mammary gland involution after milking cessation. The serotonin precursor 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) could accelerate involution by increasing circulating serotonin levels, but ruminal microbes may degrade 5-HTP if orally administered to adult ruminants. It is unclear whether rumen-protected 5-HTP could effectively mediate circulating serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) and therefore accelerate mammary gland involution in ruminants. Goats were used as a model in the current study to investigate the effects of rumen-protected 5-HTP on behaviour, 5-HT metabolism, and mammary involution in ruminants. In the first experiment, 16 female Dazu black goats were assigned to one of four groups in a randomised block design. The treatments included a basal diet plus 0, 4, 20, or 100 mg/kg BW of rumen-protected 5-HTP. Serum was collected at 0, 3, 6, 12, and 24 h after offering the rumen-protected 5-HTP in the morning feed, and the behaviours were monitored. In the second experiment, 12 female Dazu black goats (Somatic cell count < 250 000) were randomly assigned to the control (basal diet) or rumen-protected 5-HTP group (basal diet plus 20 mg/kg BW). Milk or mammary secretions were manually collected aseptically on d -1, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 around weaning. The results depicted that rumen-protected 5-HTP supplementation elevated circulating 5-HTP and 5-hydroxyindole acetic acid concentrations, while 20 mg/kg BW of rumen-protected 5-HTP supplementation lowered the goats' locomotive activity. A high concentration of rumen-protected 5-HTP (100 mg/kg BW) increased serum alkaline phosphatase and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase concentrations. Moreover, oral supplementation with 20 mg/kg BW of rumen-protected 5-HTP accelerated mammary gland involution and reduced feed intake in goats after weaning. These results demonstrate that oral supplementation with rumen-protected 5-HTP influences 5-HT metabolism and accelerates mammary gland involution after milking cessation in ruminants.

Abstract
In recent years, the application of minimal residual disease (MRD) in solid tumors has gained widespread attention. MRD typically refers to the presence of residual cancer cells that remain undetectable by imaging after curative treatments, such as surgical resection. The presence of MRD post-surgery is significantly associated with an increased risk of tumor recurrence. In colorectal cancer, circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) serves as an effective marker for assessing MRD, particularly in non-metastatic (stages I-III) colorectal cancer. As a real-time, accurate, and convenient biomarker, ctDNA can effectively predict tumor recurrence, guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy decisions, and provide crucial information for recurrence monitoring. The application prospects of ctDNA detection technology are vast, promising more precise and individualized treatment plans for colorectal cancer patients. This article comprehensively analyzes the progress in the application of ctDNA for detecting MRD in non-metastatic colorectal cancer patients, elaborates on its guiding role in clinical treatment decisions, and envisions the future development directions in this field.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of a single dose of oral pregabalin (PGB) for sedation and its impact on physiological and echocardiographic variables in healthy cats. METHODS This study was a randomised, blinded, crossover trial. Eight cats were randomly assigned to receive PGB or placebo, with a 1-week washout period between each administration. Cats in the treatment group received oral PGB at varying doses (low dose: 2.5 mg/kg, medium dose: 5 mg/kg, high dose: 10 mg/kg). Systolic blood pressure (SBP), pulse rate (PR), respiratory rate (RR) and sedation score were measured at intervals of 30 mins after administration. Echocardiography was performed 120 mins after administration. RESULTS Oral administration of PGB 2.5 mg/kg and 5 mg/kg significantly increased sedation scores starting at 150 mins, while 10 mg/kg PGB showed a significant increase in sedation scores starting at 120 mins compared with placebo. PGB 5 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg resulted in a significant reduction in SBP compared with placebo, with minimal impact on PR and RR. In addition, PGB 10 mg/kg resulted in significant changes in the peak velocity of late diastolic transmitral flow (A) and the ratio of peak velocity of early diastolic transmitral flow and A; however, these changes were of marginal clinical significance. CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE A single dose of oral PGB could cause mild to moderate sedation. Hypotension was more prevalent in the PGB 5 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg groups among the majority of cats, but it was less frequently observed in the PGB 2.5 mg/kg group.

Objective: To compare the consistency of lymphoma multigene detection panels based on next-generation sequencing (NGS) with FISH detection of B-cell lymphoma gene rearrangement. Methods: From January 2019 to May 2023, fusion genes detected by lymphoma-related 413 genes that targeted capture sequencing of 489 B-cell lymphoma tissues embedded in paraffin were collected from Henan Cancer Hospital, and the results were compared with simultaneous FISH detection of four break/fusion genes: BCL2, BCL6, MYC, and CCND1. Consistency was defined as both methods yielding positive or negative results for the same sample. The relationship between fusion mutation abundance in NGS and the positivity rate of cells in FISH was also analyzed. Results: Kappa consistency analysis revealed high consistency between NGS and FISH in detecting the four B-cell lymphoma-related gene rearrangement (P<0.001 for all) ; however, the detection rates of positive individuals differed for the four genes. Compared with FISH, NGS demonstrated a higher detection rate for BCL2 rearrangement, a lower detection rate for BCL6 and MYC rearrangement, and a similar detection rate for CCND1 rearrangement. No correlation was found between fusion mutation abundance in NGS and the positivity rate of cells in FISH. Conclusions: NGS and FISH detection of B-cell lymphoma gene rearrangement demonstrate overall good consistency. NGS is superior to FISH in detecting BCL2 rearrangement, inferior in detecting MYC rearrangement, and comparable in detecting CCND1 rearrangement.

Abstract
Orbital angular momentum (OAM) multiplexed holograms have attracted a great deal of attention recently due to their physically unbounded set of orthogonal helical modes. However, preserving the OAM property in each pixel hinders fine sampling of the target image in principle and requires a fundamental filtering aperture array in the detector plane. Here, we demonstrate the concept of metasurface-based vectorial holography with cylindrical vector beams (CVBs), whose unlimited polarization orders and unique polarization distributions can be used to boost information storage capacity. Although CVBs are composed of OAM modes, the holographic images do not preserve the OAM modes in our design, enabling fine sampling of the target image in a quasi-continuous way like traditional computer-generated holograms. Moreover, the images can be directly observed by passing them through a polarizer without the need for a fundamental mode filter array. We anticipate that our method may pave the way for high-capacity holographic devices.

Abstract
Sortase A (SrtA) is a membrane-associated cysteine transpeptidase required for bacterial virulence regulation and anchors surface proteins to cell wall, thereby assisting biofilm formation. SrtA is targeted in antivirulence treatments against Gram-positive bacterial infections. However, the development of potent small-molecule SrtA inhibitors is constrained owing to the limited understanding of the mode of action of inhibitors in the SrtA binding pocket. Herein, we designed and synthesized a novel class of covalent SrtA inhibitors based on the binding mode detailed in the X-ray crystal structure of the ML346/Streptococcus pyogenes SrtA complex. ML346 analog Y40 exhibited 2-fold increased inhibitory activity on Staphylococcus aureus SrtA and showed superior inhibitory effects on biofilm formation in vitro. Y40 protected Galleria mellonella larvae fromS. aureusinfections in vivo while minimally attenuating staphylococcal growth in vitro. Our study indicates that the covalent SrtA inhibitor Y40 is an antivirulence agent that is effective againstS. aureusinfections.

Abstract
Manipulating polarization is of significance for the application of light. Spin-orbit coupling provides a prominent pathway for manipulating the polarization of light field but generally requires tight focusing conditions or anisotropic media. In this paper, we construct ring Airy beams with hybrid polarizations and reveal the controllable polarization transforms in their autofocusing dynamics by manipulating concomitant spin-orbit coupling in free space. The numerical and experimental results show that the polarization transform is dependent on the azimuthal orders of amplitude and vortex phases of two spin constituents of ring Airy beams, that the focal spots present pure linear polarization whose orientation is determined by the initial phase when the vortex phase topological charge is equal to the amplitude angular factor, otherwise, the focal fields present cylindrical vector polarizations whose orders depend on the difference of amplitude angular orders and topological charges. Our work provides new insights for studying spin-orbit interactions and the depolarization of complex polarization.

Abstract
The determination of liquid atomic structure and thermophysical properties is essential for investigating the physical characteristics and phase transitions of refractory alloys. However, due to the stringent experimental requirements and underdeveloped interatomic potentials, acquiring such information through experimentation or simulation remains challenging. Here, an active learning method incorporating a deep neural network was established to generate the interatomic potential of the Hf_{76}W_{24} refractory alloy. Then the achieved potential was applied to investigate the liquid atomic structure and thermophysical properties of this alloy over a wide temperature range. The simulation results revealed the distinctive bonding preferences among atoms, that is, Hf atoms exhibited a strong tendency for conspecific bonding, while W atoms preferred to form an interspecific bonding. The analysis of short-range order (SRO) in the liquid alloy revealed a significant proportion of icosahedral (ICO) and distorted ICO structures, which even exceeded 30% in the undercooled state. As temperature decreased, SRO structures demonstrated an increase in larger coordination number (CN) clusters and a decrease in smaller CNs. The alterations of the atomic structure indicated that the liquid alloy becomes more ordered, densely packed, and energetically favorable with decreasing temperature, consistent with the obtained fact: Both density and surface tension increase linearly. The simulated thermophysical properties were close to experimental values with minor deviations of 2.8% for density and 3.4% for surface tension. The consistency of the thermophysical properties further attested to the accuracy and reliability of active learning simulation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is still a public health emergency of international concern. However, whether pregnancy and menopause impact the severity of COVID-19 remain unclear. AIM This study is performed to investigate the truth. DESIGN Study appraisal and synthesis follows PRISMA guideline. Meta-analysis is performed in random-effects model. METHODS PubMed, Embase, Cochrane database, Central, CINAHL, ClinicalTrials.gov, WHO COVID-19 database and WHO-ICTRP are searched until 28 March 2023. RESULTS In total, 57 studies (4 640 275 COVID-19 women) were analyzed. Pregnant women were at a lower risk of severe COVID-19, intensive care unit (ICU) admission and disease mortality compared to those nonpregnant women with comparable comorbidities. In contrast, pregnant women with more prepregnancy comorbidities were at a higher risk of severe COVID-19, ICU admission and invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV). In addition, pregnant women with pregnancy complications had a significantly increased risk of severe COVID-19 and ICU admission. Menopause increased COVID-19 severity, IMV requirement and disease mortality. Hormone replacement therapy inhibited COVID-19 severity in postmenopausal women. Premenopausal and postmenopausal women had a lower chance of severe illness than age-matched men. The impact of pregnancy on COVID-19 severity was significant in Americans and Caucasians, whereas the effect of menopause on COVID-19 severity was only significant in Chinese. CONCLUSIONS Pregnancy and menopause are protective and risk factors for severe COVID-19, respectively. The protective role of pregnancy on COVID-19 is minimal and could be counteracted or masked by prepregnancy or pregnancy comorbidities. The administration of estrogen and progesterone may prevent severe COVID-19.

Abstract
1. A new assessment method for duck footpad dermatitis (FPD) evaluation was developed, combining visual and histological characters using the images and sections of 400 ducks' feet at 340 d of age. All ducks were graded as G0 (healthy), G1 (mild), G2 (moderate) and G3 (severe) according to the degree of FPD.2. To reveal the potential biomarkers in serum related to duck FPD, non-targeted metabolomics and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis were used to explore differential metabolites in each group.3. There were 57, 91 and 210 annotated differential metabolites in groups G1, G2 and G3 compared with G0, which meant that the severity of FPD increased in line with the number of metabolites. Four metabolites, L-phenylalanine, L-arginine, L-leucine and L-lysine, were considered potential biomarkers related to FPD.4. KEGG enrichment analysis showed that the FPD was mainly involved in glycolysis, the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, the pentose phosphate pathway and amino acid metabolism. These are related to production metabolism and can affect the physiological activities of ducks, which might explain the decrease in production performance.

Abstract
Metasurface-based vectorial holography can reconstruct images with different polarization states. However, the number of polarization channels in the holographic image is relatively small in traditional methods. Here, we propose and demonstrate a metasurface vectorial hologram which carries infinite polarization channels. It can independently control the holographic pattern and polarization distribution, which can be regarded as two independent storage dimensions. We use a supercell-based metasurface to independently control the complex amplitude of the left-handed circularly polarized and right-handed circularly polarized components of the transmitted light, which then superpose in the observation plane for the vectorial pattern generation. Different from most methods, our approach does not involve complex calculations, and it is suitable for far-field design. We anticipate that it may open avenues for future applications which require arbitrary intensity and polarization control.

Abstract
Human caseinolytic protease P (ClpP) is required for the regulatory hydrolysis of mitochondrial proteins. Allosteric ClpP agonists dysfunctionally activate mitochondrial ClpP in antileukemic therapies. We previously developed ZG111, a potent ClpP agonist derived from ICG-001, inhibits the proliferation of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cell lines in vitro and in vivo by degrading respiratory chain complex proteins. Herein, we studied the structure-activity relationships of ICG-001 analogs as antileukemia agents. Compound ZG36 exhibited improved stabilization effects on the thermal stability of ClpP in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cell lines compared with the stabilization effects of ZG111, indicating a direct binding between ZG36 and ClpP. Indeed, the resolved ZG36/ClpP structural complex reveals the mode of action of ZG36 during ClpP binding. Compound ZG36 nonselectively degrades respiratory chain complexes and decreases the mitochondrial DNA, eventually leading to the collapse of mitochondrial function and leukemic cell death. Finally, ZG36 treatment inhibited 3-D cell growth in vitro and suppressed the tumorigenesis of AML cells in xenografted mice models. Collectively, we developed a new class of human ClpP agonists that can be used as potential antileukemic therapies.

Abstract
We theoretically investigate the propagation dynamics of vectorial Mathieu and Weber tightly autofocusing beams, which are constructed based on nonparaxial Weber and Mathieu accelerating beams, respectively. They can automatically focus along the paraboloid and ellipsoid, and the focal fields represent the tightly focusing properties resembling that generated with a high NA lens. We demonstrate the influence of the beam parameters on the spot size and energy proportion of longitudinal component of the focal fields. It reveals that Mathieu tightly autofocusing beam supports a more superior focusing performance, of which the longitudinal field component with superoscillatory feature could be enhanced by decreasing the order and selecting the suitable interfocal separation of the beam. These results are expected to provide new insights for the autofocusing beams and the tight focusing of the vector beams.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the association of greenness exposure with waist circumference (WC) and central obesity in older adults in China. Methods: Based on the cross-sectional data from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey in 2017-2018, 14 056 participants aged 65 years and over were included. Demographic characteristics, lifestyle, WC, and other information were collected through a questionnaire and physical examination. Based on the satellite monitoring data of moderate-resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) provided by NASA, the annual mean of normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) within a radius of 1 000 meters was obtained as the measurement value of greenness exposure. Multivariate linear regression model, multivariate logistic regression model, and restricted cubic splines (RCS) model were used to analyze the association and dose-response relationship between greenness exposure and WC and central obesity in older adults in China. Results: A total of 14 056 participants were enrolled with a median age of 84.0 years [IQR: 75.0-94.0 years]. About 45.0% (6 330) of them were male and 48.6% (5 853) were illiterate. There were 10 964 (78.0%) participants from rural. The mean of WC was (84.4±10.8) cm. Central obesity accounted for 60.2% (8 465), and the NDVI range was (-0.06, 0.78). After adjusting for confounding factors, the multivariate linear regression model showed that the change value of WC in the urban group [β (95%CI):-0.49 (-0.93, -0.06)] was smaller than that in the rural [-0.78 (-0.98, -0.58)] for every 0.1 unit increase in NDVI (Pinteraction=0.022). Compared with the Q1 group in NDVI, WC of Q2 and Q3 groups in rural decreased, and the β (95%CI) values were-1.74 (-2.5, -0.98) and-2.78 (-3.55, -2.00), respectively. The multivariate logistic regression model showed that after adjusting for confounding factors, the risk of central obesity decreased for urban and rural older adults with an increase of 0.1 unit in NDVI, and the OR (95%CI) values were 0.87 (0.80, 0.95) and 0.86 (0.82, 0.89), respectively (Pinteraction=0.284). Compared with the Q1 group in NDVI, the risk of central obesity in the Q2 and Q3 groups in rural was lower, and the OR (95%CI) values were 0.68 (0.58, 0.80) and 0.57 (0.49, 0.68), respectively. The results of the multivariate regression model with RCS showed that there was a non-linear association of NDVI with WC (Pnonlinear=0.006) and central obesity (Pnonlinear=0.025). Conclusion: Greenness exposure is negatively associated with WC and central obesity in older adults in China.

Abstract
Sulfur-based polymeric glasses are promising alternative low-cost IR materials due to their profoundly high IR transparency. In this Letter, femtosecond-laser-induced refractive index change (RIC) was investigated in one typical sulfur-based polymeric glass material, poly(S-r-DIB), for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. The RIC in the laser-engineered region was quantitively characterized, which laid a foundation for phase-type optical element design. By the integration of RIC traces, embedded phase-type micro-optics elements, including Fresnel zone plates, and a Dammann grating were fabricated in bulk poly(S-r-DIB) polymeric glass substrate via the femtosecond laser direct writing technique. The imaging and beam shaping performance were demoed in the near-infrared (NIR) region.

Abstract
Robotic gastrectomy (RG) has always been a hot topic in the field of minimally invasive surgery for gastric cancer. More and more studies have confirmed that short- and long-term outcomes of RG are similar to those of laparoscopic gastrectomy. Robotic surgical systems have more advantages in specific regional lymph node dissection. More delicate operation can reduce intraoperative blood loss and the incidence of postoperative complications. Robotic surgical systems are also more ergonomically designed. However, there are also some problems such as high surgical cost, lack of tactile feedback and prolonged total operation time. In the future, robotic surgical system may be further developed in the direction of miniaturization, intelligence and modularity. At the same time, the robotic surgical system deeply integrated with artificial intelligence technology may realize the automation of some operation steps to some extent.
