Abstract
The emergent coronavirus, designated severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), is a zoonotic pathogen that has demonstrated remarkable transmissibility in the human population and is the etiological agent of a current global pandemic called COVID-191. We measured the dynamic (short-term) aerosol efficiencies of SARS-CoV-2 and compared the efficiencies with two other emerging coronaviruses, SARS-CoV (emerged in 2002) and Middle Eastern respiratory syndrome CoV (MERS-CoV; emerged starting in 2012). We also quantified the long-term persistence of SARS-CoV-2 and its ability to maintain infectivity when suspended in aerosols for up to 16 hours.

Abstract
Rhizobium leguminosarum bv. viciae expresses an uptake hydrogenase in symbiosis with peas (Pisum sativum) but, unlike all other characterized hydrogen-oxidizing bacteria, cannot express it in free-living conditions. The hydrogenase-specific transcriptional activator gene hoxA described in other species was shown to have been inactivated in R. leguminosarum by accumulation of frameshift and deletion mutations. Symbiotic transcription of hydrogenase structural genes hupSL originates from a -24/-12 type promoter (hupSp). A regulatory region located in the -173 to -88 region was essential for promoter activity in R. leguminosarum. Activation of hupSp was observed in Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli cells expressing the K. pneumoniae nitrogen fixation regulator NifA, and in E. coli cells expressing R. meliloti NifA. This activation required direct interaction of NifA with the essential -173 to -88 regulatory region. However, no sequences resembling known NifA-binding sites were found in or around this region. NifA-dependent activation was also observed in R. etli bean bacteroids. NifA-dependent hupSp activity in heterologous hosts was also absolutely dependent on the RpoN sigma-factor and on integration host factor. Proteins immunologically related to integration host factor were identified in R. leguminosarum. The data suggest that hupSp is structurally and functionally similar to nitrogen fixation promoters. The requirement to coordinate nitrogenase-dependent H2 production and H2 oxidation in nodules might be the reason for the loss of HoxA in R. leguminosarum and the concomitant NifA control of hup gene expression. This evolutionary acquired control would ensure regulated synthesis of uptake hydrogenase in the most common H2-rich environment for rhizobia, the legume nodule.

Abstract
AIMS To study the seasonal variation of Shiga toxin-encoding genes (stx) and to investigate the presence of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) O157 in cattle belonging to five dairy farms from Argentina. METHODS AND RESULTS Rectal swab samples were collected from 360 dairy cows in each season and 115 and 137 calves in autumn and in spring, respectively. The stx were investigated by multiplex PCR and it was used as the indicator for STEC. Samples positives for stx were tested by PCR for eae-gamma1 of E. coli O157 and then subjected to IMS (immunomagnetic separation). In positive animals significant differences in the prevalence of stx between warm and cold seasons were detected. In warm seasons, stx1 + stx2 increased and stx1 decreased, independently of the animal category. The prevalence of STEC O157 in cows and calves were 0.2% and 0.8%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS This work provides new data about the occurrence of stx and STEC O157 in dairy herds from Argentina and suggests a relationship between the type of stx and season of year. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF STUDY The detection of STEC O157 and the seasonality of stx and its types provide an opportunity to improve control strategies designed to prevent contamination of food products and transmission animal-person.

Abstract
To determine clinical and epidemiological features of scorpion stings in two departments of Colombia, a descriptive study was performed in the hospitals of 10 towns from Antioquia (2 256 071 inhabitants) and five from Tolima (630 424 inhabitants). One hundred and twenty-nine cases were admitted during one year, 51 in Antioquia, 78 in Tolima and 41 were children less than 15 years old. Most stings (70.5%) occurred inside the house; 27.9% were on the hands and 26.4% on the feet. The scorpion species involved were Tityus pachyurus (51), Centruroides gracilis (31), T. fuehrmanni (29), T. asthenes (7) and Chactas spp. (1). In 10 cases the scorpion involved was not identified. Systemic envenoming signs (e.g. vomiting, tachypnea) were significantly more frequent in children than in adults (P < 0.05). Four children had hypertension, but none developed pulmonary oedema. One 3-year-old girl, stung by T. asthenes, had acute oedematous pancreatitis. Ninety-eight patients had mild envenoming. Moderate (27 patients) and severe (four patients) envenoming was significantly more frequent in children than in adults (P = 0.003; relative risk = 2.97). A pepsin-digested anti-Centruroides spp. antivenom was administered to 19 of 31 patients presenting systemic envenoming signs. No adverse reactions to antivenom were observed.

Abstract
Obesity is considered as an inflammatory disease, in which free radical-induced oxidative stress and excessive intake of macronutrients exacerbate their symptoms. In this context, we assessed in rats the possible preventive effect of the supplementation with an antioxidant molecule, ascorbic acid, in order to reduce the adiposity induced by the intake of a high-fat diet. For this purpose, during 56 days, three groups of male Wistar rats were fed on: a) standard pelleted diet, b) Cafeteria diet, c) ascorbate-supplemented (750 mg/kg of body weight) Cafeteria diet. At the end of the experimental period, microarray analysis was used to identify genes transcriptionally induced or repressed by both experimental dietary models (Cafeteria diet supplemented or not with ascorbic acid) in subcutaneous adipose tissue. Dietary ascorbic acid was able to protect against high fat diet effects, reducing the increase of body weight, total body fat and enlargement of different adipose depots induced by the Cafeteria diet without affecting food intake. An association analysis accurately and differentially allowed the detection of gene expression changes related with adiposity and insulin resistance. The genes that more strongly correlated with body fat and HOMA insulin resistance index were involved in adipocyte differentiation, lipid and glucocorticoid metabolism, cell cycle regulation, as well as in several insulin-induced processes. Some other transcripts are regulated by the vitamin C-mediated reduction of adiposity, such as genes that participate in glucocorticoid metabolism, adipogenesis, pentose phosphate pathway, or tricarboxylic acid cycle. This strategy was able to link variations in adipose tissue gene expression with markers of diet-induced obesity in rats, such as insulin resistance and body fat content.

Abstract
Trypanosoma evansi is the causative agent of equine trypanosomosis, disease that affects horse's productivity and health. Parasitological and molecular methods are mostly used to detect the infection. The aim of this work was evaluate PCR sensitivity to detect T. evansi using the primers 21/22-mer, ITS1, ESAG 6/7 and TBR 1/2 designed from repetitive (multicopies) genomic sequences. The results were compare with two parasitological tests in mice, micro-haematocrite centrifugation technique and direct microscopic examination. The results shows (a) that the minimum amount of DNA from blood of highly parasitaemic mice that was detectable by PCR was 0.001 ng, using the ESAG6/7 and TBR1/2 primer, (b) using TBR1/2 primer for parasites purified could detect 0.000001 ng and (c) in the prepatent period PCR detect the presence of parasites earlier than parasitological techniques. Nevertheless, the percentage of detection for PCR varies depending on primer employed with 60% and 66% for ITS1 and 21/22-mer, and 80% for ESAG6/7 and TBR1/2. Consequently, TBR1/2 and ESAG6/7 were the best primers to monitor T. evansi infections in mice. For epidemiological application, such comparative evaluation should be made for detection of T. evansi in livestock such as horses.

Abstract
Three patients with painful malunions of the scaphoid and significant loss of active wrist extension were treated with an opening wedge multiplanar osteotomy that corrected flexion, ulnar deviation, and pronatory rotational malalignment of the distal fragment. After a minimum follow-up of 4 years, all three patients were satisfied with the procedure and were pain-free. The preoperative range of wrist motion had improved, and they had returned to their preoperative occupations.

Abstract
An enhanced oxidative stress status has been documented in obese patients and animal models, and a depletion of the antioxidant mechanisms in these conditions is a common feature. Therefore, we have tested the hypothesis that food supplementation with an antioxidant molecule such as vitamin C could prevent fat deposition induced by a high-fat diet in rodents. Ascorbic acid dietary supplementation reduced body weight and the retroperitoneal and subcutaneous fat depots in cafeteria diet-induced obese rats, without affecting food intake. Microarray technology has been applied in rat subcutaneous fat to assess the molecular mechanisms underlying the depletion of fat stores induced by ascorbic acid. Thus, expression of genes involved in cell proliferation, regulation of transcription, and host response are upregulated while a number of genes participating in lipid metabolism, cell adhesion, differentiation, and steroidogenesis (such as steroidogenic acute regulatory protein and hydroxysteroid 11-beta dehydrogenase 2) are downregulated. These data provide new insights to understand that not only calories count in weight gain, but also that the antioxidant status and other mechanisms affecting energy conversion efficiency could participate in energy homeostasis, in which glucocorticoids could be involved.

Abstract
CONTEXT Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) is impaired in primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) but instruments to specifically assess this are scarce. OBJECTIVE Validate the new disease-specific Primary Hyperparathyroidism Quality of Life (PHPQoL) questionnaire in usual clinical practice. DESIGN Observational, prospective, and multicenter. SETTING Public hospital ambulatory care. PATIENTS Patients with PHPT of both sexes, aged more than or equal to 18 years either initiated treatment for PHPT (group A) or had stable PHPT, not requiring therapy (group B). Patients in group A had at least one surgical criterion according to the 2009 Third International Workshop on Management of Asymptomatic PHPT. INTERVENTION Sociodemographic, clinical, and HRQoL data (PHPQol, Short Form-36, Psychological Well-Being Index, and patients' self-perceived health status) were collected. Group A underwent 4 evaluations (baseline, 3 ± 1, 6 ± 1, and 12 ± 2 months after a therapeutic intervention) and group B 2, at baseline and 1 month later to assess test-retest reliability. RESULTS A total of 182 patients were included (104 group A, 78 group B) with a mean age (SD) of 61.4 (12.1) years; 79.7% were women. Group A increased PHPQoL score (SD) (better HRQoL) (52 ± 23 at baseline; 62 ± 24 at 12 months; P < .001). At baseline, symptomatic patients had a lower PHPQoL score (worse) than asymptomatic ones (51 ± 21 vs 68 ± 21; P < .001). Correlations were seen between PHPQoL and Short Form-36, Psychological Well-Being Index, and self-perceived health status (P < .001). PHPQoL had good internal consistency (Cronbach's α = 0.80), test-retest reliability (group B, intraclass correlation coefficient > 0.80), and sensitivity to detect HQRoL changes over time. CONCLUSIONS PHPQoL is a valid HRQoL measure to assess the impact of PHPT on health perception in clinical practice.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyse life-threatening obstetric complications that occurred in public hospitals in Argentina. DESIGN Multicentre collaborative cross-sectional study. SETTING Twenty-five hospitals included in the Perinatal Network of Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area. POPULATION Women giving birth in participating hospitals during a 1-year period. METHODS All cases of severe maternal morbidity (SMM) and maternal mortality (MM) during pregnancy (including miscarriage and induced abortion), labour and puerperium were included. Data were collected prospectively. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Identification criteria, main causes and incidence of SMM; case-fatality rates, morbidity-mortality index and effective intervention's use rate. RESULTS A total of 552 women with life-threatening conditions were identified: 518 with SMM, 34 with MM. Identification criteria for SMM were case-management (48.9%), organ dysfunction (15.2%) and mixed criteria (35.9%). Incidence of SMM was 0.8% (95% confidence interval [95% CI] 0.73-0.87%) and hospital maternal death ratio was 52.3 per 100 000 live births (95% CI 35.5-69.1). Main causes of MM were abortion complications and puerperal sepsis; main causes of SMM were postpartum haemorrhage and hypertension. Overall case-fatality rate was 6.2% (95% CI 4.4-8.6): the highest due to sepsis (14.8%) and abortion complications (13.3%). Morbidity-mortality index was 15:1 (95% CI 7.5-30.8). Use rate of known effective interventions to prevent or treat main causes of MM and SMM was 52.3% (95% CI 46.9-57.7). CONCLUSIONS This study describes the importance of life-threatening obstetric complications that took place in public hospitals with comprehensive obstetric care and the low utilisation of known effective interventions that may decrease rates of SMM and MM. It also provides arguments that justify the need to develop a surveillance system for SMM.

Abstract
Density functional theory calculations [CPCM/UM06/6-31+G(d,p)] were used to elucidate the structures and relative stability of Fe(III) complexes with various ligands that inhibit the formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) or iron overloaded disease (viz. aminoguanidine, pyridoxamine, LR-74, Amadori compounds, and ascorbic acid). EDTA was used as the free energy reference ligand. The distorted neutral octahedral complex containing one iron atom and three molecules of pyridoxamine [Fe(PM)(3)] was found to be the most stable. The stability of the complexes decreases in the following chelate sequence: pyridoxamine, Amadori complex, aminoguanidine, LR inhibitor, and ascorbic acid.

Abstract
Three patients who continued to have distal radioulnar joint pain following Bowers' hemiresection interposition technique were treated by converting the resection arthroplasty into a Sauvé-Kapandji procedure. The resected 10 mm segment from the distal ulnar metaphysis was used as an interposition bone graft in the arthrodesis site, placed between the sigmoid notch of the radius and distal end of the ulna. After a minimum follow-up of 3 years, all three patients were satisfied with the procedure, were pain-free, and the preoperative range of wrist and forearm motion had increased. All three returned to their previous working activities.

Abstract
Metallocarboxypeptidases (MCPs) are zinc-dependent exoproteases that have been for long considered benchmark enzymes, perform a wide range of physiological roles and have been regarded as interesting drug targets. Several crystal structures of MCPs in complex with protein and small molecular weight inhibitors have recently been obtained providing a framework for understanding the binding properties of these ligands. Much of the latest research focused on carboxypeptidase U or thrombin-activable fibrinolysis inhibitor (CPU/TAFI) which has fueled new designs in the field of cardiovascular drugs. Further, new details on the catalytic mechanism of MCPs have emerged from recent crystal structures of covalently modified forms and the pace of investigations on inhibitors has been steadily fastening in the last years. This paper will focus on the latest research carried on metallocarboxypeptidase small molecular weight inhibitors as drug candidates and will give an update of protein inhibitors to emphasize the growing interest for products isolated from natural sources.

Abstract
Plasmid pAL618 contains the genetic determinants for H2 uptake (hup) from Rhizobium leguminosarum bv. viciae, including a cluster of 17 genes named hupSLCDEFGHIJK-hypABFCDE. A 1.7-kb segment of insert DNA located downstream of hypE has now been sequenced, thus completing the sequence of the 20441-bp insert DNA in plasmid pAL618. An open reading frame (designated hypX) encoding a protein with a calculated M(r) of 62300 that exhibits extensive sequence similarity with HoxX from Alcaligenes eutrophus (52% identity) and Bradyrhizobium japonicum (57% identity) was identified 10 bp downstream of hypE. Nodule bacteroids produced by hypX mutants in pea (Pisum sativum L.) plants grown at optimal nickel concentrations (100 microM) for hydrogenase expression, exhibited less than 5% of the wild-type levels of hydrogenase activity. These bacteroids contained wild-type levels of mRNA from hydrogenase structural genes (hupSL) but accumulated large amounts of the immature form of HupL protein. The Hup-deficient mutants were complemented for normal hydrogenase activity and nickel-dependent maturation of HupL by a hypX gene provided in trans. From expression analysis of hypX-lacZ fusion genes, it appears that hypX gene is transcribed from the FnrN-dependent hyp promoter, thus placing hypX in the hyp operon (hypBFCDEX). Comparisons of the HypX/HoxX sequences with those in databases provided unexpected insights into their function in hydrogenase synthesis. Similarities were restricted to two distinct regions in the HypX/HoxX sequences. Region I, corresponding to a sequence conserved in N10-formyltetrahydrofolate-dependent enzymes involved in transferring one-carbon units (C1), was located in the N-terminal half of the protein, whereas region II, corresponding to a sequence conserved in enzymes of the enoyl-CoA hydratase/isomerase family, was located in the C-terminal half. These similarities strongly suggest that HypX/HoxX have dual functions: binding of the C1 donor N10-formyltetrahydrofolate and transfer of the C1 to an unknown substrate, and catalysis of a reaction involving polarization of the C = O bond of an X-CO-SCoA substrate. These results also suggest the involvement of a small organic molecule, possibly synthesized with the participation of an X-CO-SCoA precursor and of formyl groups, in the synthesis of the metal-containing active centre of hydrogenase.

Abstract
BACKGROUND As future health educators, nursing and physiotherapy students will play an essential role in the prevention of smoking. AIM To determine the prevalence of smoking among students and to analyse their knowledge of and attitudes towards smoking. METHOD This was a descriptive cross-sectional study using an anonymous questionnaire and conducted in a Spanish Faculty of Health Sciences in 2013. FINDINGS 247 nursing and physiotherapy students (82.33%) participated in the study. The global prevalence of smoking (18.2%) was lower compare with the general population group of the same age. We have observed statistical significance in relation to previous studies. Nursing and physiotherapy students showed a low nicotine dependence. We found a lack of knowledge about the harmful effects of cigarette consumption on health. Statistically significant results were also found in relation to degree courses (p < 0.01) as regards students' opinions about their knowledge of strategies and methods to help patients stop smoking. CONCLUSION Most students started smoking before commencing their university studies; consequently, interventions should focus on cessation programmes. An analysis of university curricula leading to the award of a degree in the health sciences could serve to identify educational deficiencies in order to implement the necessary modifications. IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING AND HEALTH POLICY This paper presents an update in tobacco use characteristics amongst nursing and physiotherapy students. Those results have showed a need to improve the curricula in order to develop specific programmes to improve knowledge, attitudes and beliefs. Measures to prevent smoking must be taken at school.

Abstract
DNA nucleobases undergo non-enzymatic glycation to nucleobase adducts which can play important roles in vivo. In this work, we conducted a comprehensive experimental and theoretical kinetic study of the mechanisms of formation of glyoxal-guanine adducts over a wide pH range in order to elucidate the molecular basis for the glycation process. Also, we performed molecular dynamics simulations to investigate how open or cyclic glyoxal-guanine adducts can cause structural changes in an oligonucleotide model. A thermodynamic study of other glycating agents including methylglyoxal, acrolein, crotonaldehyde, 4-hydroxynonenal and 3-deoxyglucosone revealed that, at neutral pH, cyclic adducts were more stable than open adducts; at basic pH, however, the open adducts of 3-deoxyglucosone, methylglyoxal and glyoxal were more stable than their cyclic counterparts. This result can be ascribed to the ability of the adducts to cross-link DNA. The new insights may contribute to improve our understanding of the connection between glycation and DNA cross-linking.

Abstract
UNLABELLED The study of pro-inflammatory cytokines produced in situ in heart allografts may help to understand the mechanisms of rejection and open new possibilities to control graft rejection. METHODS A total of 23 endomyocardial biopsies obtained from 16 transplanted patients treated with triple-drug therapy (azathioprine, prednisone, and cyclosporine) were studied. mRNA expression for tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha, interleukin (IL)-1 beta, IL-6, IL-10, IL-12, IL-15, transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta, and beta-actin was determined by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Southern blotting. Semiquantitative analysis was done by establishing the ratio between densitometric integrated value of each cytokine with the beta-actin and correlated with the histopathologic findings. RESULTS Three groups of biopsies were determined according to the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation criteria: grade 0 (control group, n=12), grade 1A (sub-clinical rejection, n=6) and 'quilty effect' (n=5). An increased expression of mRNA for TNF-alpha and IL-6 (p=0.0091 and 0.0075, respectively) was found associated with rejection grade 1A episodes, mRNA for IL-1 beta was nonspecifically expressed in all the study groups, while IL-10 mRNA was not detected in any of the biopsies studied. mRNA for IL-12 and IL-15 was not associated with rejection. Interestingly, TGF-beta was not detected in any of the biopsies with the 'quilty pattern'. CONCLUSION The association of TNF-alpha and IL-6 mRNA in situ expression with mild histologically probed rejection episodes may be used in the monitoring of heart transplants.

Abstract
Rotavirus (RV) is known to be the most common cause of severe diarrhoea in infants and young children, each year leading to an estimated 800,000-900,000 deaths. RV also infects bovines and other species, with high morbidity and mortality. A rapid and simple 'naked-eye' dipstick system was developed to detect human RV in faeces, using nitrocellulose as solid phase, two monoclonal antibodies, and colloidal gold as marker. The system detects 10(4) viral particles (1-2 ng)/g of faeces. For human RV the specificity and sensitivity were 100% when compared with a commercial latex system, and 99% and 98%, respectively, when correlated with traditional RNA-PAGE, and 100% and 98% compared to an ELISA system.

Abstract
Different ligand densities of monoclonal antibody (Mab) CB.Hep-1 were studied during covalent coupling on Sepharose CL-4B for recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen (rHBsAg) immunoaffinity purification. Ligand densities of 2.2, 3.2, 4.2 and 5.2 mg Mab/ml immunosorbents, respectively, were assayed during five cycles of immunoaffinity chromatography (IAC). Adsorption capacities averaged either 3.2 mg/ml (0.57 mg rHBsAg/ml immunosorbent/5.42 mg of total purified protein) or 5.2 mg/ml (0.56 mg rHBsAg/ml immunosorbent/5.05 mg total purified protein). Immunosorbents showed ligand leakage levels below 3 ng Mab/microg rHBsAg. Antigen purity was higher than 95% in all cases. The results suggest that a ligand density (LD) of 3.2 mg Mab/ml immunosorbent should be used for immunoaffinity chromatography because no significant differences were found in the ligand densities studied (P-value=0.012), which saves 40% of CB.Hep-1 immunosorbent manufacturing cost in comparison with 5 mg Mab/ml immunosorbent, which is currently used in large-scale production.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Laparoscopic liver resections (LLR) have been increasingly performed in recent years. Most of the available evidence, however, comes from specialized centers in Asia, Europe and USA. Data from South America are limited and based on single-center experiences. To date, no multicenter studies evaluated the results of LLR in South America. The aim of this study was to evaluate the experience and results with LLR in South American centers. METHODS From February to November 2019, a survey about LLR was conducted in 61 hepatobiliary centers in South America, composed by 20 questions concerning demographic characteristics, surgical data, and perioperative results. RESULTS Fifty-one (83.6%) centers from seven different countries answered the survey. A total of 2887 LLR were performed, as follows: Argentina (928), Brazil (1326), Chile (322), Colombia (210), Paraguay (9), Peru (75), and Uruguay (8). The first program began in 1997; however, the majority (60.7%) started after 2010. The percentage of LLR over open resections was 28.4% (4.4-84%). Of the total, 76.5% were minor hepatectomies and 23.5% major, including 266 right hepatectomies and 343 left hepatectomies. The conversion rate was 9.7%, overall morbidity 13%, and mortality 0.7%. CONCLUSIONS This is the largest study assessing the dissemination and results of LLR in South America. It showed an increasing number of centers performing LLR with the promising perioperative results, aligned with other worldwide excellence centers.

Abstract
The high nutritional value of sheep milk can be advantageous in the manufacture of cheese, and fat plays an important role in sheep cheese properties. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of feeding common hay or silage diets used in commercial farms on the nutritional value of sheep cheese fat. We also monitored the effect of cheese ripening period on the fatty acid profile. Cheeses were produced from milk of sheep fed hay and silage diets from 8 farms, on 4 separate occasions (February, May, August, and November) over a 1-yr period. Eighty-four individual fatty acids were determined and identified by gas chromatography. Ripening time (100 and 180 d) significantly reduced moisture, acidity, and water activity of cheeses but did not affect the fatty acid content. However, hay feeding, compared with silage feeding, led to cheeses with 1.5- and 1.3-fold higher contents of vaccenic acid and conjugated linoleic acid, without detrimental changes in saturated and n-3 (omega-3) fatty acid composition. Hay forages could be a low-cost alternative for producing cheese with a fatty acid profile suitable for human health, which is an aspect of great interest to the food industry.

Abstract
People can regulate negative emotional states using personal episodic information stored in memory. However, amongst older adults, assistance in retrieving personal memories might be needed. As such, positive personal images might better facilitate the retrieval of positive personal memories, relative to generic positive images. The present study induced older adults (N = 40; Mage = 76.28) into a negative mood state using a validated film clip ("Dead Man Walking"; Robbins et al. in Dead Man Walking [Cinta Cinematográfica]. PolyGram Filmed Entertainment, Working Title Films, Estados Unidos, 1995). Participants were then shown positive personal images (album photos) or positive non-personal images from the International Affective Picture System (IAPS) and between-group differences in their mood state and their ability to retrieve positive autobiographical memories were measured. Although participants' moods decreased after the negative mood induction, their mood then recovered after picture cuing regardless of whether images were personal or non-personal. Furthermore, the positive mood evoked by non-personal, but not personal, images was significantly positively associated with self-reported feelings of reliving of the memories evoked by those images. These results suggest that, when pictures from personal life are not available, the selection of images able to generate positive autobiographical memories with a sense of reliving, is a feasible tool for older adult's emotional regulation.

Abstract
Puromycin-sensitive and insensitive aminopeptidase (aminopeptidase M) activities are measured in several subcellular fractions of the rat brain cortex and subcortex during the first postnatal month. Tyr-beta-naphthylamide has been used as substrate and 20 microM puromycin as selective inhibitor. We have found that puromycin-sensitive aminopeptidase activity increases twofold in the synaptosomal and mitochondrial fractions in the first 6-9 postnatal days, just during the period of axonal and dendritic growth. This enzyme also has significant age-related changes in the nuclear fraction. The developmental pattern is different, depending on the subcellular fraction analyzed. Significant developmental changes of puromycin-insensitive aminopeptidase (aminopeptidase M) are only found in the myelinic and microsomal fractions and they are less significant than those found in the puromycin-sensitive aminopeptidase. It has been suggested that these enzyme activities could be involved in processes of cell proliferation, differentiation, and maturation.
