Abstract
Macromolecular crowding has a profound impact on reaction rates and the physical properties of the cell interior, but the mechanisms that regulate crowding are poorly understood. We developed genetically encoded multimeric nanoparticles (GEMs) to dissect these mechanisms. GEMs are homomultimeric scaffolds fused to a fluorescent protein that self-assemble into bright, stable particles of defined size and shape. By combining tracking of GEMs with genetic and pharmacological approaches, we discovered that the mTORC1 pathway can modulate the effective diffusion coefficient of particles ≥20 nm in diameter more than 2-fold by tuning ribosome concentration, without any discernable effect on the motion of molecules ≤5 nm. This change in ribosome concentration affected phase separation both in vitro and in vivo. Together, these results establish a role for mTORC1 in controlling both the mesoscale biophysical properties of the cytoplasm and biomolecular condensation.

Abstract
We aimed to test the psychometric properties of a culturally relevant translation of the medical outcomes study short form-36 health survey (SF-36) with prospective Vietnamese migrants. The translated survey was interviewer-administered to 1610 Vietnamese aged over 15 years who had applied to migrate to Australia. All but two SF-36 items had good discriminant validity, and all eight scales of the Vietnamese version of the SFS-36 had good discriminant validity, which supports the use of SF-36 constructs to assess self-reported health status among Vietnamese migrants. However, the mental health, vitality and bodily pain scales demonstrated low internal consistency. This finding is likely to be a product of the increased diversity among scale items following modifications to improve cultural relevance. Further modifications to improve the internal consistency of these scales are required.

Abstract
We investigated the prevalence and predictors of positive tuberculin skin test (TST) results among prospective Vietnamese migrants. We interviewed and medically screened 1395 Vietnamese people aged over 15 years who had applied to migrate to Australia. Approximately 44% of applicants had an induration of 10 mm or more, and 18.6% had an induration of 15 mm or more. A positive tuberculin skin test at 5 mm, 10 mm and 15 mm of induration cut-points was significantly associated with age (OR 1.01-1.02 per year) and duration of smoking (OR 1.03-1.12 per year). Smoking appears to be an important factor associated with increased susceptibility to mycobacterial infection. It is not yet clear whether the increased tuberculin reactivity associated with smoking reflects an increased risk of tuberculosis among these migrants.

Abstract
BACKGROUND It remains unclear whether the topological deficits of the white matter network documented in cross-sectional studies of chronic schizophrenia patients are due to chronic illness or to other factors such as antipsychotic treatment effects. To answer this question, we evaluated the white matter network in medication-naive first-episode schizophrenia patients (FESP) before and after a course of treatment. METHOD We performed a longitudinal diffusion tensor imaging study in 42 drug-naive FESP at baseline and then after 8 weeks of risperidone monotherapy, and compared them with 38 healthy volunteers. Graph theory was utilized to calculate the topological characteristics of brain anatomical network. Patients' clinical state was evaluated using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) before and after treatment. RESULTS Pretreatment, patients had relatively intact overall topological organizations, and deficient nodal topological properties primarily in prefrontal gyrus and limbic system components such as the bilateral anterior and posterior cingulate. Treatment with risperidone normalized topological parameters in the limbic system, and the enhancement positively correlated with the reduction in PANSS-positive symptoms. Prefrontal topological impairments persisted following treatment and negative symptoms did not improve. CONCLUSIONS During the early phase of antipsychotic medication treatment there are region-specific alterations in white matter topological measures. Limbic white matter topological dysfunction improves with positive symptom reduction. Prefrontal deficits and negative symptoms are unresponsive to medication intervention, and prefrontal deficits are potential trait biomarkers and targets for negative symptom treatment development.

Abstract
We highlight the difficulty in differentiating Coats' disease from retinoblastoma. Two patients with bullous exudative retinal detachment and abnormal vessels are discussed. Histologic evaluation of the 5-year-old patient revealed retinoblastoma. The 1-year-old patient had Coats' disease by histologic identification. With this in mind, we suggest enucleation of such eyes if diagnostic uncertainty exists, since failure to treat retinoblastoma is a more serious error than enucleation of an eye with minimal function.

Abstract
Proton magnetic resonance images obtained for nine human eyes with various pathology were correlated with histological findings. One eye with retinal gliosis, three eyes with malignant melanoma, one eye with extraocular squamous cell carcinoma, one pair of eyes with incipient senile cataracts, and one pair of eyes with diabetic cataracts were examined at a field strength of 1.4 T using spin-echo and inversion-recovery signal acquisition protocols. Eyes were examined unfixed and within 24 h of enucleation. Most images were characterized by a homogeneous vitreous and a lens made conspicuous by its low-signal intensity. The anterior chamber, ciliary body, and optic nerve could be seen, but the retina and choroidal layers could not be distinguished. The dynamic range of vitreal signal was quite wide and allowed all lesions in this series to be well-contrasted against the vitreous. In addition, lenticular edema accompanying cataract formation gave a strong signal. Signal differences were apparent between paired cataractous lenses with a 1.6% difference in water content. Magnetic resonance imaging is a modality that promises good contrast for ocular imaging and sensitive detection of incipient cataractous change.

Abstract
Ten unrelated retinoblastoma patients were studied cytogenetically with high-resolution prophase banding; two had a deletion of chromosome 13, band q14. Neither of the two patients had any of the congenital defects usually associated with 13q14 deletions. In patient A, the deletion was found to be de novo. Patient B was found to be mosaic for the 13q14 deletion with 54% of the lymphocytes examined having the deletion. This study indicates that the 13q14 deletion may occur in a significant portion of all retinoblastoma cases. Esterase D activity and isozymes were studied also. The significance of findings will be discussed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although albuminuria has been linked to heart failure in the general population, the relationship between urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (uACR) and heart failure in type 2 diabetes patients is not well understood. We aimed to investigate the relationship between uACR and new-onset heart failure (HF) in type 2 diabetics. METHODS We included 9287 Chinese participants with type 2 diabetes (T2D) but no heart failure (HF) who were assessed with uACR between 2014 and 2016. The participants were divided into three groups based on their baseline uACR: normal (< 3 mg/mmol), microalbuminuria (3-30 mg/mmol), and macroalbuminuria (≥ 30 mg/mmol). The relationship between uACR and new-onset HF was studied using Cox proportional hazard models and restricted cubic spline. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC), net reclassification improvement (NRI), and integrated discrimination improvement (IDI) were used to see if incorporating uACR into existing models could improve performance. RESULTS 216 new-onset HF cases (2.33%) were recorded after a median follow-up of 4.05 years. When compared to normal uACR, elevated uACR was associated with a progressively increased risk of new-onset HF, ranging from microalbuminuria (adjusted HR, 2.21; 95% CI 1.59-3.06) to macroalbuminuria (adjusted HR, 6.02; 95% CI 4.11-8.80), and 1 standard deviation (SD) in ln (uACR) (adjusted HR, 1.89; 95% CI 1.68-2.13). The results were consistent across sex, estimated glomerular filtration rate, systolic blood pressure, and glycosylated hemoglobin subgroups. The addition of uACR to established HF risk models improved the HF risk prediction efficacy. CONCLUSIONS Increasing uACR, even below the normal range, is an independent risk factor for new-onset HF in a type 2 diabetic population. Furthermore, uACR may improve HF risk prediction in community-based T2D patients.

Abstract
We conducted a cross-sectional survey of 1669 prospective Vietnamese migrants who had applied to migrate to Australia to describe the association between self-reported health status and several commonly used clinical indicators of health among prospective Vietnamese migrants. Participants were recruited from the International Organization for Migration's standardised medical screening program.' We found that clinical indicators of health are related to self-reported health status among prospective Vietnamese migrants. Self-reported health status, which was assessed using a modified version of the Short Form-36 health survey, was significantly associated with clinical indicators of health, including the number of body system abnormalities identified during medical screening, evidence of tuberculosis on chest radiograph, and self-reported weight loss over the previous six months. These findings support the validity of self-reported health status assessment among prospective migrants, although the assessment of subjective indicators of health during compulsory medical screening may be limited by reporting bias.

Abstract
We used magnetic resonance spectroscopy to examine endophthalmitis in rabbits inoculated with a virulent strain of Streptococcus pneumoniae. On different days after infection, the animals were sacrificed and the vitreous isolated and examined with water-suppressed proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy. A broad resonance corresponding to the methyl envelope of lipoprotein lipids appeared 2 days after infection and persisted until the eyes developed phthisis (around 10 days postinfection). This resonance was absent in the control eye and the bacterial culture; it could be used as the marker of breakdown of blood-vitreous barrier and onset of endophthalmitis-induced changes.

Abstract
AIMS This study aimed to investigate the impact of different estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) values like cystatin C-based eGFR (eGFRcys), creatinine-based eGFR (eGFRcr), and their difference (eGFRdiff; eGFRcys -eGFRcr), on the incidence of heart failure (HF) in patients with type 2 diabetes(T2D). METHODS Being a prospective cohort study, it included 7,967 patients with T2D who underwent serum creatinine and cystatin C tests as part of the Kailuan Group's 6th annual health examination (2016). Subsequently, eGFRcys, eGFRcr, and eGFRdiff were calculated. Patients were categorized into three groups: negative (<-15 mL/min/1.73 m2), midrange (-15 to 15 mL/min/1.73 m2), and positive (> 15 mL/min/1.73 m2) eGFRdiff groups, respectively. Furthermore, the relationship between the various eGFR measurements and new-onset HF were studied using Cox proportional hazards regression, and the potential improvement in predictive capability was evaluated by adding these eGFR metrics to established HF risk models. RESULTS Among 7967 participants with mean age of 60.51 years, there were 20.92% women and 79.08% men. At baseline, eGFRcys and eGFRcr values differed by more than 15 mL/min/1.73m2 in 41.3% of participants. During a median follow-up period of 3.76 years, there were 172 (2.16%) new HF cases and 517 (6.49%) all-cause deaths. The cumulative incidence of HF in the midrange, negative, and positive eGFRdiff groups was 1.74%, 4.10%, and 0.61%, respectively (p < 0.001). In multivariable adjusted models, participants in the negative eGFRdiff group had higher risk of HF compared with the midrange eGFRdiff group (HR, 2.15; 95% CI, 1.57-2.94). Conversely, participants in the positive eGFRdiff group had lower risk for HF (HR, 0.40; 95% CI, 0.17-0.93). And each 15 mL/min/ 1.73 m2 higher eGFRdiff was associated with 34% (HR, 0.66; 95% CI, 0.58 - 0.47)lower risk of incident HF. The predictive capacity for HF risk in diabetic individuals was enhanced by adding eGFRcys or eGFRdiff to established HF risk models, with eGFRcys showing more significant additional predictive value. CONCLUSION These findings suggest that large differences between eGFRcys and eGFRcr were common in community-based population with T2D. Different eGFR metrics can independently predict HF incidence in patients with T2D. Additionally, metrics like eGFRcys and eGFRdiff provide significant predictive value for HF risks beyond traditional risk factors, with eGFRcys showing more pronounced benefits in such cases.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the impact of ideal health behaviors on the newly developed carotid plaques. METHODS A total of 5 852 employees (including retired employees from Tangshan Kailuan company) aged over 40 years were included in this study through stratified random sampling. Subjects with previous stroke, transient ischemic attack, myocardial infarction were excluded. Results from the unified questionnaire, blood biochemistry measurements and ultrasonography carotid artery measurements were analyzed. Present study analyzed the data from 2 372 participants without carotid plaques in 2010-2011 examinations. The newly developed carotid plaques in 2012-2013 health examinations were observed and multiple logistic regression analysis was used to explore the impact of ideal health behaviors and factors on the newly developed carotid plaques. RESULTS (1) There were 359 subjects with newly developed carotid artery plaques among the 2 372 subjects (15.1%), prevalence rate was 23.1% (43/186), 17.5% (186/1 065), 12.4% (122/986), 5.9% (8/135) in the groups with 0-1, 2-3, 4-5 and 6-7 components of ideal cardiovascular health behaviors and factors, respectively (P < 0.001). (2) Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that after adjusting for age, gender, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, heart rate, and high sensitive c-reactive protein, compared to with 0-1 components of ideal cardiovascular health behaviors and factors, participants with 4-5 and 6-7 components of ideal cardiovascular health behaviors and factors were associated with reduced risk of the newly developed carotid plaques, the OR (95% CI) values were 0.52(0.34-0.80) and 0.28(0.12-0.64), respectively. CONCLUSION Higher number of ideal cardiovascular health behaviors and factors is associated with lower incidence of newly developed carotid plaques.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the efficacy and safety of Rivaroxaban in preventing catheter related thrombosis (CRT) in patients with breast cancer who are undergoing central venous catheter chemotherapy, and provide basis for making standardized prevention and treatment strategies. Methods: In this research, a prospective cohort study was adopted, and breast cancer patients who received central venous catheter chemotherapy in Sanhuan Cancer Hospital during September 2020 to March 2022 were selected as a treatment group to take the rivaroxaban anticoagulation therapy with 10 mg.po.qd for one month. The control group got no preventive anticoagulation therapy. Vascular ultrasound examination was taken to confirm the occurrence of CRT, and a chi-square test was done for comparison the disparity between the groups. Logistic regression was applied to analyze the univariate and multivariate factors for the formation of CRT. Results: In the research, a total of 235 patients were selected, and there were a total of 19 035 days of catheterization with 81 days of catheterization on average. While in the control group, the incidence of CRT was 28.0% (33/118), the incidence of CRT in the treatment group was 20.5% (24/117), the difference was no significant (P=0.183). Subgroup analysis results showed that the peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) was performed in 165 cases with the CRT incidence of 18.2% (30/165) and thrombosis was mostly seen around axillary vein, accounting for 63.3%. Subclavian vein catheterization was performed in 63 cases with the CRT incidence of 39.7% (25/63), and thrombosis was mostly seen around subclavian vein, accounting for 88.0% (22/25). Implantable venous access port was implanted in 7 cases around subclavian vein and internal jugular vein with the CRT incidence of 28.6% (2/7). The patients who developed CRT within 30 days after catheterization accounted for 54.4% (31/57), 22.8% (13/57) in a period during 30 days and 60 days) and 22.8% (13/57) in a period during 60 days and 180 days). The diagnosed CRT patients had been treated with rivaroxaban 15 mg.bid.po for 3 months. During the 3 months, 100.0% of the thrombosis waned, 71.9% (41/57) of the thrombosis waned within 30 days, 19.3% (11/57) in a period during 30 and 60days and 8.8% (5/57) in a period during 60 days and 90 days. Univariate and multivariate analysis indicated that the risk of CRT in subclavian vein catheterization was higher than that in PICC, respectively (OR=2.898, 95% CI:1.386-6.056 P=0.005), and the type of catheterization was an independent factor for the formation of thrombosis. Safety analysis result showed that in the prevention of CRT, rivaroxaban treatment did not induce drug-related bleeding, liver function damage, bone marrow suppression or any other side effects. While CRT diagnosed patients were treated with anticoagulation, they kept the central venous catheter, and the infusion was smooth. These patients all finished the anti-tumor treatment as planned, and no abnormalities like new thrombosis or pulmonary embolism were observed. Conclusions: In the mid-term analysis, the proportion of Rivaroxaban in preventing anticoagulant CRT decreases, but it don't reach statistical significance. The sample size should be further increased for observation. Rivaroxaban is proved effective and very safe in the treatment of CRT, and does not affect the concurrent chemotherapy. Medical personnel should carry out the policy of "early prevention, early detection and early treatment" for CRT so as to improve the patients' quality of life.

Abstract
The associative effects resulting from the proportions of neutral detergent fibre (NDF) and non fibre carbohydrate (NFC) were explored and assessed by in vitro gas production . Total mixed rations (TMR) composed primarily of alf a lfa and corn soybean concentrate were fed to growing cashmere goats. Treatments were defined by three proportions of NFC and NDF namely 2.00 ( TMR1), 2.35 ( TMR2), and 3.00 ( that were used to grow cashmere goats , and these TRMs were incubated for 48 h ours to evaluate their influence on associative effects. The results indicated that the associative influences of these treatments on gas production occurred within the cultures predominantly at 2 8 hours, and disappeared gradually as culture time was ex tended . TMR 2 and TMR3 incubation increased gas production compared with that observed in the other groups at all incubation times P > 0.05), and these groups exhibited positive associative effects, particularly during the early hours of incubation P <0.05 )). TMR 3 displayed the best associative effect.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Adriamycin (ADR) is a widely used chemotherapy drug in clinical practice and it causes toxicity in the myocardium affecting its clinical use. miR-432-5p is a miRNA primarily expressed in myocardial cells and has a protective effect in the myocardium. We aim to explore the protective effect of miR-432-5p on ADR-caused impaired mitochondrial ATP metabolism and endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERs). METHOD The primary cardiomyocytes were obtained from neonatal mice and the ADR was added to cells, meanwhile, a mice model was constructed through intravenous ADR challenge, and expression levels of miR-432-5p were examined. Subsequently, the miR-432-5p was introduced in vitro and in vivo to explore its effect on the activity of mitochondrial ATP synthesis, autophagy, and ER stress. The bioinformatics analysis was performed to explore the target of miR-432-5p. RESULTS ADR decreased the expression of miR-432-5p in cardiomyocytes. It also decreases mitochondrial ATP production and activates the ER stress pathway by increasing the expression of LC3B, Beclin 1, cleaved caspase 3, and induces cardiac toxicity. miR-432-5p exogenous supplementation can reduce the cardiotoxicity caused by ADR, and its protective effect on cardiomyocytes depends on the down-regulation of the RTN3 signaling pathway in ER. CONCLUSION ADR can induce the low expression of miR-432-5p, and activate the RTN3 pathway in ER, increase the expression of LC3B, Beclin 1, cleaved caspase 3, CHOP, and RTN3, and induce cardiac toxicity.

Abstract
AIMS We aimed to explore the associations between urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (uACR) and cardia-cerebrovascular disease (CVD) in Chinese population with type 2 diabetes(T2D). METHODS We included 8975 participants with T2D but free of prevalent CVD (including myocardial infarction, ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke) at baseline from Kailuan study who were assessed with uACR between 2014 and 2016. The participants were divided into three groups based on their baseline uACR: normal (< 3 mg/mmol), microalbuminuria (3-30 mg/mmol), and macroalbuminuria (≥ 30 mg/mmol). Cox regression models and restricted cubic spline were used to evaluate the hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of incident CVD. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC), net reclassification improvement (NRI), and integrated discrimination improvement (IDI) were used to see if incorporating uACR into existing models could improve performance. RESULTS During a median follow-up of 4.05 years, 560 participants developed first CVD event (6.24%). After adjustment for potential confounders, participants with microalbuminuria had higher risks of CVD compared with normal uACR, with HRs of 1.57(95% CI 1.04-2.37) for myocardial infarction, 1.24(95% CI 1.00-1.54) for ischemic stroke,1.62(95% CI 0.73-3.61) for hemorrhagic stroke, and 1.30(95% CI 1.07-1.57) for total CVD. The risks gradually attenuated with uACR increase, with HRs of 2.86(95% CI 1.63-5.00) for myocardial infarction, 2.46(95% CI 1.83-3.30) for ischemic stroke, 4.69(95% CI 1.72-12.78) for hemorrhagic stroke, and 2.42(95% CI 1.85-3.15) for total CVD in macroalbuminuria. The addition of uACR to established CVD risk models improved the CVD risk prediction efficacy. CONCLUSIONS Increasing uACR, even below the normal range, is an independent risk factor for new-onset CVD in T2D population. Furthermore, uACR could improve the risk prediction for CVD among community based T2D patients.

Abstract
Objective: To observe the efficacy and safety of albumin-bound paclitaxel in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer. Methods: Multi-center data of patients who accepted single-drug albumin-bound paclitaxel or combination regimens from 2013 to 2019 were collected and the efficacy and safety were evaluated. Kaplan-Meier method was used for survival analysis, while Log-rank test was used to compare the survival rates. Results: A total of 203 advanced breast cancer cases were enrolled. The median progression-free survival time (PFS) lasted for 4 months, the median overall survival(OS)was 14 months, objective response rate (ORR) was 36.0% while the disease control rate (DCR) was 81.3%. The ORRs of Luminal, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) overexpression and triple-negative breast cancer patients underwent albumin-bound paclitaxel treatment were 37.3%, 45.5% and 31.0%, respectively, the DCRs were 85.5%, 68.2% and 78.9%, respectively. The OS of patients with relapse or metastasis who accepted less than two and more than two chemotherapy regimens were 22 months and 11 months (P<0.000 1), the ORRs were 44.9% vs 30.4%, DCRs were 87.2% vs 77.6% (P=0.018). The ORR and DCR of patients who accepted traditional paclitaxel treatment before the albumin-bound paclitaxel treatment were 35.8% and 82.1%, respectively. The common adverse reaction of these patients was numbness of limbs, which incidence rate was 64.5% (131/203), and 61.1% (124/203) were degree 1 to 2. Other adverse reactions including decreased white blood cells, which incidence rate was 56.1% (114/203); nausea and vomit, which incidence rate was 36.9% (75/203); anemia, which incidence rate was 21.2% (43/203); decreased platelet, which incidence rate was 18.7% (38/203); hepatic dysfunction, which incidence rate was 18.2% (37/203). Conclusions: Albumin-bound paclitaxel single or combination regimen is still significant efficient for various molecular subtypes of breast cancer patients or patients with traditional paclitaxel resistance or multi-line chemotherapy failure. Early usage has better prognosis, controllable adverse reaction and prominent clinical application value.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the efficacy and safety of real-world eribulin in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer. Methods: From December 2019 to December 2020, patients with advanced breast cancer were selected from Beijing Chaoyang District Sanhuan Cancer Hospital, Shandong Cancer Hospital, Peking University Cancer Hospital, Baotou Cancer Hospital, Shengjing Hospital Affiliated to China Medical University, and Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Kaplan-Meier method and Log rank test were used for survival analysis, and Cox regression model was used for multivariate analysis. Results: The median progression-free survival (PFS) of 77 patients was 5 months, the objective response rate (ORR) was 33.8%, and the disease control rate (DCR) was 71.4%. The ORR of patients with triple-negative breast cancer was 23.1%, and the DCR was 57.7%; the ORR of patients with Luminal breast cancer was 40.0%, and the DCR was 77.8%; the ORR of patients with HER-2 overexpression breast cancer was 33.3%, and the DCR was 83.3%. ORR of 50.0% and DCR of 66.7% for patients treated with eribulin as first to second line treatment, ORR of 29.4% and DCR of 76.5% for patients treated with third to fourth line and ORR of 28.6% and DCR of 71.4% for patients treated with five to eleven line. The ORR of patients in the eribulin monotherapy group was 40.0% and the DCR was 66.0%; the ORR of patients in the combination chemotherapy or targeted therapy group was 22.2% and the DCR was 81.5%. Patients with a history of treatment with paclitaxel, docetaxel, or albumin paclitaxel during the adjuvant phase or after recurrent metastasis had an ORR of 32.9% and a DCR of 69.9% when treated with eribulin. The treatment efficacy is an independent prognostic factor affecting patient survival (P<0.001). The main adverse reactions in the whole group of patients were Grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ neutrophil decline [29.9% (23/77)], and other adverse reactions were Grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ fatigue [5.2% (4/77)], Grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ peripheral nerve abnormality [2.6% (2/77)] and Grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ alopecia [2.6% (2/77)]. Conclusions: Eribulin still has good antitumor activity against various molecular subtypes of breast cancer and advanced breast cancer that has failed multiple lines of chemotherapy, and the adverse effects can be controlled, so it has a good clinical application value.

Abstract
This study investigated metabolic variations by using gas chromatography – mass spectrometry (GC–MS)-based metabolomics in the blood of Inner Mongolia white cashmere goats under shortened and natural photoperiod conditions. Twenty-four female (non-pregnant) Inner Mongolia white cashmere goats aged 1–1.5 yr with similar live weights (mean, 20.36 ± 2.63 kg) were randomly allocated into two groups: a natural daily photoperiod group (NDPP group: 10–16 h light, n = 12) and a short daily photoperiod group (SDPP group: 7 h light:17 h dark, n = 12). In this study, we found that a SDPP promoted the blood metabolic perturbations based on the GC–MS-based metabolomics investigation, and nine metabolites were related to a SDPP. Compared with the NDPP group, the contents of serine, oxaloacetic acid, xylose, l-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine, and xanthosine significantly were up-regulated, whereas the contents of carnitine, 1,3-diaminopropane, indole-3-acetic acid, and l-kynurenine were significantly down-regulated in the SDPP group. The different metabolites could contribute to the regulation mechanisms of promoting cashmere growth of goats in the SDPP group.
