Abstract
At present, stock linear distractors are used for internal maxillary distraction osteogenesis. However, the authors' research group has demonstrated, through an in silico analysis, that linear distraction leads to bone deformities and malocclusion, whereas helical distraction can yield ideal outcomes. A system for designing and manufacturing custom helical distractors has recently been developed, and the feasibility of these appliances now needs to be assessed. This study was, therefore, conducted to gain an initial insight into their feasibility. The study had two goals. First, it aimed to demonstrate, in an in vitro model, that the novel system of custom helical distraction can produce appropriate clinical outcomes. The second aim was to compare the performance of custom helical distractors with that of stock devices and hybrid devices (i.e., linear appliances that feature patient-specific footplates). Interpreting the results as trends, this study showed that the system of custom helical distraction resulted in in vitro outcomes that were superior to those obtained with stock and hybrid devices.

Abstract
We present the measurements of all-particle energy spectrum and mean logarithmic mass of cosmic rays in the energy range of 0.3-30 PeV using data collected from LHAASO-KM2A between September 2021 and December 2022, which is based on a nearly composition-independent energy reconstruction method, achieving unprecedented accuracy. Our analysis reveals the position of the knee at 3.67±0.05±0.15 PeV. Below the knee, the spectral index is found to be -2.7413±0.0004±0.0050, while above the knee, it is -3.128±0.005±0.027, with the sharpness of the transition measured with a statistical error of 2%. The mean logarithmic mass of cosmic rays is almost heavier than helium in the whole measured energy range. It decreases from 1.7 at 0.3 PeV to 1.3 at 3 PeV, representing a 24% decline following a power law with an index of -0.1200±0.0003±0.0341. This is equivalent to an increase in abundance of light components. Above the knee, the mean logarithmic mass exhibits a power law trend towards heavier components, which is reversal to the behavior observed in the all-particle energy spectrum. Additionally, the knee position and the change in power-law index are approximately the same. These findings suggest that the knee observed in the all-particle spectrum corresponds to the knee of the light component, rather than the medium-heavy components.

Abstract
The diffuse Galactic γ-ray emission, mainly produced via interactions between cosmic rays and the interstellar medium and/or radiation field, is a very important probe of the distribution, propagation, and interaction of cosmic rays in the Milky Way. In this Letter, we report the measurements of diffuse γ rays from the Galactic plane between 10 TeV and 1 PeV energies, with the square kilometer array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). Diffuse emissions from the inner (15°10 TeV). The energy spectrum in the inner Galaxy regions can be described by a power-law function with an index of -2.99±0.04, which is different from the curved spectrum as expected from hadronic interactions between locally measured cosmic rays and the line-of-sight integrated gas content. Furthermore, the measured flux is higher by a factor of ∼3 than the prediction. A similar spectrum with an index of -2.99±0.07 is found in the outer Galaxy region, and the absolute flux for 10≲E≲60 TeV is again higher than the prediction for hadronic cosmic ray interactions. The latitude distributions of the diffuse emission are consistent with the gas distribution, while the longitude distributions show clear deviation from the gas distribution. The LHAASO measurements imply that either additional emission sources exist or cosmic ray intensities have spatial variations.

Abstract
The T2K experiment presents new measurements of neutrino oscillation parameters using 19.7 ( 16.3 ) × 10 20 protons on target (POT) in (anti-)neutrino mode at the far detector (FD). Compared to the previous analysis, an additional 4.7 × 10 20 POT neutrino data was collected at the FD. Significant improvements were made to the analysis methodology, with the near-detector analysis introducing new selections and using more than double the data. Additionally, this is the first T2K oscillation analysis to use NA61/SHINE data on a replica of the T2K target to tune the neutrino flux model, and the neutrino interaction model was improved to include new nuclear effects and calculations. Frequentist and Bayesian analyses are presented, including results on sin 2 θ 13 and the impact of priors on the δ CP measurement. Both analyses prefer the normal mass ordering and upper octant of sin 2 θ 23 with a nearly maximally CP-violating phase. Assuming the normal ordering and using the constraint on sin 2 θ 13 from reactors, sin 2 θ 23 = 0 . 561 - 0.032 + 0.021 using Feldman-Cousins corrected intervals, and Δ m 32 2 = 2 . 494 - 0.058 + 0.041 × 10 - 3 eV 2 using constant Δ χ 2 intervals. The CP-violating phase is constrained to δ CP = - 1 . 97 - 0.70 + 0.97 using Feldman-Cousins corrected intervals, and δ CP = 0 , π is excluded at more than 90% confidence level. A Jarlskog invariant of zero is excluded at more than 2 σ credible level using a flat prior in δ CP , and just below 2 σ using a flat prior in sin δ CP . When the external constraint on sin 2 θ 13 is removed, sin 2 θ 13 = 28 . 0 - 6.5 + 2.8 × 10 - 3 , in agreement with measurements from reactor experiments. These results are consistent with previous T2K analyses.

Abstract
Some gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) have a tera-electron volt (TeV) afterglow, but the early onset of this has not been observed. We report observations with the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory of the bright GRB 221009A, which serendipitously occurred within the instrument field of view. More than 64,000 photons >0.2 TeV were detected within the first 3000 seconds. The TeV flux began several minutes after the GRB trigger, then rose to a peak about 10 seconds later. This was followed by a decay phase, which became more rapid ~650 seconds after the peak. We interpret the emission using a model of a relativistic jet with half-opening angle ~0.8°. This is consistent with the core of a structured jet and could explain the high isotropic energy of this GRB.

Abstract
The morphology of dodecane in a nanopore at temperatures typical in exploited or depleted oil reservoirs is investigated using molecular dynamics simulation. The dodecane morphology is found to be determined by interactions between interfacial crystallization and surface wetting of the simplified oil, while "evaporation" only plays a minor role. The morphology changes from an isolated, solidified dodecane droplet to a film with orderly lamellae structures remaining within, and finally to a film containing randomly distributed dodecane molecules, as the system temperature increases. In a nanoslit under the impact of water, since water wins against oil in surface wetting on the silica surface due to electrostatic interaction induced hydrogen bonding between water and the silanol group of silica, the spreading of dodecane molecules over the silica surface is impeded by this water confinement mechanism. Meanwhile, interfacial crystallization is enhanced, leading to always an isolated dodecane "droplet," with crystallization weakening as the temperature increases. Since dodecane is immiscible to water, there is no mechanism for dodecane to escape the silica surface, and the competition of surface wetting between water and oil determines the morphology of the crystallized dodecane droplet. For the CO2-dodecane system in a nanoslit, CO2 is an efficient solvent for dodecane at all temperatures. Therefore, interfacial crystallization rapidly disappears. The competition of surface adsorption between CO2 and dodecane is secondary for all cases. The dissolution mechanism is a clear clue for the fact that CO2 is more effective than water flooding in oil recovery for a depleted oil reservoir.

Abstract
AIM To reveal the prognostic value of the postoperative and dynamic albumin-to-alkaline phosphatase ratio (AAPR) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients undergoing trans-catheter chemoembolisation (TACE). MATERIALS AND METHODS In total, 545 HCC patients undergoing initial TACE were enrolled into the study. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was plotted to determine the best cut-off for AAPR. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses were used to confirm the independent prognostic effect of AAPR on overall survival (OS). The predictive performance of AAPR was assessed by ROC curves, concordance index (C-index), and Akaike information criterion (AIC), and was compared to existing liver function assessment systems. RESULTS The optimal cut-off value for the AAPR was 0.26. Elevated AAPR (>0.26) was associated with a low risk of death after adjustment whether before (HR: 0.53; 95% CI: 0.4-0.69) or after (HR: 0.64; 95% CI: 0.43-0.95) TACE treatment. The combined pre- and postoperative AAPR showed much better performance in ROC curve (1-, 3-, and 5-year AUCs: 0.69, 0.71, 0.69), C-index (0.65; 95% CI: 0.59-0.72) and AIC analyses than pre-AAPR and post-AAPR alone or liver function assessment systems. CONCLUSION This study demonstrated both preoperative and postoperative AAPR were independent prognostic factors for HCC patients undergoing TACE. In addition, the combined pre- and post-AAPR showed better predictive performance than pre-AAPR and post-AAPR alone or liver function assessment systems.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) for patients with acute leukemia who are positive for the SET-NUP214 fusion gene (SET-NUP214+AL). Methods: This was a retrospective case series study. Clinical data of 18 patients with SET-NUP214+AL who received allo-HSCT in the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University and Soochow Hongci Hematology Hospital from December 2014 to October 2021 were retrospectively analyzed to investigate treatment efficacy and prognosis. The Kaplan-Meier method was used for survival analysis. Results: Of the 18 patients, 12 were male and 6 were female, and the median age was 29 years (range, 13-55 years). There were six cases of mixed phenotype acute leukemia (three cases of myeloid/T, two cases of B/T, one case of myeloid/B/T), nine cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) (one case of B-ALL and eight cases of T-ALL), and three cases of acute myeloid leukemia. All patients received induction chemotherapy after diagnosis, and 17 patients achieved complete remission (CR) after chemotherapy. All patients subsequently received allo-HSCT. Pre-transplantation status: 15 patients were in the first CR, 1 patient was in the second CR, 1 was in partial remission, and 1 patient did not reach CR. All patients were successfully implanted with stem cells. The median time of granulocyte and platelet reconstitution was +12 and +13 days, respectively. With a median follow-up of 23 (4-80) months, 15 patients survived, while 3 patients died. The cause of death was recurrence of SET-NUP214+AL after transplantation. After allo-HSCT, 5 patients relapsed. The estimated 3-year overall survival (OS) and relapse-free survival (RFS) rates were 83.3%±15.2% and 55.4%±20.7%, respectively. Among the 15 patients who achieved CR before transplantation, there was no significant difference in OS and RFS between haploidentical HSCT and matched sibling donor HSCT (all P>0.05). Conclusions: Allo-HSCT can improve the prognosis and long-term survival rate of patients with SET-NUP214+AL. Disease recurrence is the most important factor affecting long-term survival.

Abstract
AbstractA recurrent neural network is developed for segmenting between anomalous and normal diffusion in single-particle trajectories. Accurate segmentation infers a distinct change point that is used to approximate an Einstein linear regime in the mean-squared displacement curve via the transition density function, a unique physical descriptor for short-lived and delayed transiency. Through several artificial and simulated scenarios, we demonstrate the compelling accuracy of our model for dissecting linear and nonlinear behaviour. The inherent practicality of our model lies in its ability to substantiate the self-diffusion coefficient through offline trajectory segmentation, which is opposed to the common ‘best-guess’ linear fitting standard. Additionally, we show that the transition density function has fundamental implications and correspondence to underlying mechanisms that influence transition. In particular, we show that the known proportionality between salt concentration and diffusion of water also influences delayed anomalous behaviour.

Abstract
Low temperatures limit the geographic distribution and yield of plants. Hormones play an important role in coordinating the growth and development of plants and their tolerance to low temperatures. However, the mechanisms by which hormones affect plant resistance to extreme cold stress in the natural environment are still unclear. In this study, two winter wheat varieties with different cold resistances, Dn1 and J22, were used to conduct targeted plant hormone metabolome analysis on the tillering nodes of winter wheat at 5 °C, -10 °C and -25 °C using an LC-ESI-MS/MS system. We screened 39 hormones from 88 plant hormone metabolites and constructed a partial regulatory network of auxin, jasmonic acid and cytokinin. GO analysis and enrichment of KEGG pathways in different metabolites showed that the 'plant hormone signal transduction' pathway was the most common. Our study showed that extreme low temperature increased the most levels of auxin, cytokinin and salicylic acid, and decreased levels of jasmonic acid and abscisic acid, and that levels of auxin, jasmonic acid and cytokinin in Dn1 were higher than those in J22. These changes in hormone levels were associated with changes in gene expression in synthesis, catabolism, transport and signal transduction pathways. These results differ from the previous hormone regulation mechanisms, which were mostly obtained at 4 °C. Our results provide a basis for further understanding the molecular mechanisms by which plant endogenous hormones regulate plant freezing stress tolerance.

Abstract
We report a search for cosmic-ray boosted dark matter with protons using the 0.37 megaton×years data collected at Super-Kamiokande experiment during the 1996-2018 period (SKI-IV phase). We searched for an excess of proton recoils above the atmospheric neutrino background from the vicinity of the Galactic Center. No such excess is observed, and limits are calculated for two reference models of dark matter with either a constant interaction cross section or through a scalar mediator. This is the first experimental search for boosted dark matter with hadrons using directional information. The results present the most stringent limits on cosmic-ray boosted dark matter and exclude the dark matter-nucleon elastic scattering cross section between 10^{-33}cm^{2} and 10^{-27}cm^{2} for dark matter mass from 1 MeV/c^{2} to 300 MeV/c^{2}.

Abstract
Delivering radiation therapy based on erroneous or corrupted treatment plan data has previously and unfortunately resulted in severe, sometimes grave patient harm. Aiming to prevent such harm and improve safety in radiation therapy treatment, this work introduces a novel, yet intuitive algorithm for strategically structuring the complex and unstructured data typical of modern treatment plans so their treatment sites may automatically be verified with deep-learning architectures. The proposed algorithm utilizes geometric and dose plan parameters to represent each plan's data as a heat map to feed a deep-learning classifier that will predict the plan's treatment site. Once it is returned by the classifier, a plan's predicted site can be compared to its documented intended site, and a warning raised should the two differ. Using real head-neck, breast, and prostate treatment plan data retrieved at two hospitals in the United States, the algorithm is evaluated by observing the accuracy of convolutional neural networks (ConvNets) in correctly classifying the structured heat map data. Many well-known ConvNet architectures are tested, and ResNet-18 performs the best with a testing accuracy of 97.8% and 0.979 F-1 score. Clearly, the heat maps generated by the proposed algorithm, despite using only a few of the many available plan parameters, retain enough information for correct treatment site classification. The simple construction and ease of interpretation make the heat maps an attractive choice for classification and error detection.

Abstract
The kilometer square array (KM2A) of the large high altitude air shower observatory (LHAASO) aims at surveying the northern γ-ray sky at energies above 10 TeV with unprecedented sensitivity. γ-ray observations have long been one of the most powerful tools for dark matter searches, as, e.g., high-energy γ rays could be produced by the decays of heavy dark matter particles. In this Letter, we present the first dark matter analysis with LHAASO-KM2A, using the first 340 days of data from 1/2-KM2A and 230 days of data from 3/4-KM2A. Several regions of interest are used to search for a signal and account for the residual cosmic-ray background after γ/hadron separation. We find no excess of dark matter signals, and thus place some of the strongest γ-ray constraints on the lifetime of heavy dark matter particles with mass between 10^{5} and 10^{9} GeV. Our results with LHAASO are robust, and have important implications for dark matter interpretations of the diffuse astrophysical high-energy neutrino emission.

Abstract
The fate of antimony (Sb) in submerged soils and the impact of common agricultural practices (e.g., manuring) on Sb release and volatilization is understudied. We investigated porewater Sb release and volatilization in the field and laboratory for three rice paddy soils. In the field study, the porewater Sb concentration (up to 107.1 μg L-1) was associated with iron (Fe) at two sites, and with pH, Fe, manganese (Mn), and sulfate (SO42-) at one site. The surface water Sb concentrations (up to 495.3 ± 113.7 μg L-1) were up to 99 times higher than the regulatory values indicating a potential risk to aquaculture and rice agriculture. For the first time, volatile Sb was detected in rice paddy fields using a validated quantitative method (18.1 ± 5.2 to 217.9 ± 160.7 mg ha-1 y-1). We also investigated the influence of two common rice agriculture practices (flooding and manuring) on Sb release and volatilization in a 56-day microcosm experiment using the same soils from the field campaign. Flooding induced an immediate, but temporary, Sb release into the porewater that declined with SO42-, indicating that SO42- reduction may reduce porewater Sb concentrations. A secondary Sb release, corresponding to Fe reduction in the porewater, was observed in some of the microcosms. Our results suggest flooding-induced Sb release into rice paddy porewaters is temporary but relevant. Manuring the soils did not impact the porewater Sb concentration but did enhance Sb volatilization. Volatile Sb (159.6 ± 108.4 to 2237.5 ± 679.7 ng kg-1 y-1) was detected in most of the treatments and was correlated with the surface water Sb concentration. Our study indicates that Sb volatilization could be occurring at the soil-water interface or directly in the surface water and highlights that future works should investigate this potentially relevant mechanism.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the project characteristics of oral clinical trials registered in Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR), and to provide reference for medical institutions to improve the quality of oral clinical trials and formulate management systems. Methods: The ChiCTR database was retrieved to collect all the oral-related clinical trials from the time of database establishment to July 25, 2021. Those clinical trials were analyzed statistically in respect of name of registered project, registration time, registration status, regional distribution of research institutions, approval status by ethics committee, sample size, source of funds, involved disease, research type and design, randomization method, and whether blind method was adopted. Results: A total of 778 oral clinical trials, which studied mainly in the oral and maxillofacial diseases, periodontal tissue diseases, oral implant diseases, oral mucosal diseases, and oral prosthetic diseases, were retrieved in the database. Beijing, Sichuan, Shanghai, Guangdong and Hubei were major regions where oral clinical trials were carried out, accounting for 69.68% (772/1 108) of the total. The top four funding sources were hospital finance [24.93% (186/746)], local government finance [22.39% (167/746)], self-financing [17.69% (132/746)], and national finance [12.47% (93/746)]. For the types of researches, 520 interventional studies and 244 observational studies were identified (accounting for 66.84% and 31.36%, respectively). The research designs were dominated by ways of randomized control (381, 48.97%), of which 240 (62.99%) trials were with missing or unspecified blinding methods. Conclusions: Oral clinical trials are increasing year by year, but they are regionally imbalanced, and still need to be further improved in registration information and research design. Administrative departments should pay more attention to strengthen the publicity and education on the registration and publication mechanism of clinical trials, and enhance researchers' cognitions in clinical trials registration and clinical trials design.

Abstract
AIM To improve the accuracy of diagnosis of Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD) by summarising the computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) characteristics. MATERIALS AND METHODS The clinical manifestations, imaging findings, and pathological characteristics of 14 patients with histopathologically confirmed RDD were analysed retrospectively and a literature review was undertaken. RESULTS Of the 14 patients, nine had multiple lesions and five had single lesions. Eight patients had extranodal lesions, while six had mixed-type lesions. In patients with head and neck lesions, plain CT/MRI revealed irregularly shaped, well-defined, homogeneous, and mainly progressive lesions, with marked homogeneous enhancement on multiphasic contrast-enhanced imaging. One patient had dural lesions, one of which iso-intense to grey matter, with patchy hypo-intensity on T2-weighted imaging, meningeal tail signs, and characteristic crabfoot-like enhancement. Three patients with skeletal system involvement exhibited osteolytic bone destruction without sclerosis at the edges, associated soft-tissue masses, or periosteal reactions. Two patients had well-defined subcutaneous lesions, inhomogeneous density, and progressive parenchymal enhancement on contrast-enhanced CT. One patient had multiple intestinal lesions with inhomogeneous nodular thickening of the blind ascending colon and ileum, with marked and progressive enhancement. CONCLUSION RDD involvement is mainly multifocal, primarily in the head and neck regions. Plain CT/MRI revealed well-defined, irregularly shaped lesions with homogeneous density/signal, with marked and progressive enhancement on multiphasic contrast-enhanced imaging; however, histopathology is still required to confirm the diagnosis of RDD.

Abstract
The copper redhorse (Moxostoma hubbsi) is an endangered fish that spawns exclusively in the Richelieu River (Quebec, Canada). Tributaries of the Richelieu are contaminated with high levels of current-use pesticides, which may impact early-life stage (ELS) copper redhorse and other native fishes. We assessed the effects of exposure to contaminated river water on ELS copper redhorse and river redhorse (Moxostoma carinatum), a related fish that shares the copper redhorse's spawning grounds and nursery habitat. A riverside flow-through system was used to expose copper and river redhorse embryos (1000 each) to Richelieu River water or laboratory water as a control. Fish were maintained until 14 days posthatch, and water samples were taken daily for chemical analysis. Following a heavy rain event, concentrations of two neonicotinoid pesticides, clothianidin and thiamethoxam, exceeded water quality guidelines for aquatic life (20 ng/L). Using nontargeted screening, we tentatively identified an additional 24 pharmaceutical and personal care products and 23 pesticides in river water. Effects of river water on ELS fish were observed in both species, but the copper redhorse appeared to be more sensitive. Fish exposed to river water hatched 10.7 (copper redhorse) and 2.4 (river redhorse) cumulative degree days earlier than controls. Copper redhorse survival was significantly lower in river water (73 ± 16%) compared to laboratory water (93 ± 3%), whereas river redhorse survival was similar between treatments (84 ± 6% and 89 ± 4%, respectively). Sequencing of copper redhorse larvae RNA revealed 18 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) following 14 days of exposure to river water. Eight up-regulated DEGs were linked to immune function and injury response, and seven down-regulated DEGs were involved with digestion and nutrient absorption. The present study provided valuable data on the effects of ELS exposure to a real-world mixture of contaminants in two fish species of concern. Environ Toxicol Chem 2022;41:1950-1966. © 2022 SETAC.

Abstract
Recently, the LHAASO Collaboration published the detection of 12 ultrahigh-energy γ-ray sources above 100 TeV, with the highest energy photon reaching 1.4 PeV. The first detection of PeV γ rays from astrophysical sources may provide a very sensitive probe of the effect of the Lorentz invariance violation (LIV), which results in decay of high-energy γ rays in the superluminal scenario and hence a sharp cutoff of the energy spectrum. Two highest energy sources are studied in this work. No signature of the existence of the LIV is found in their energy spectra, and the lower limits on the LIV energy scale are derived. Our results show that the first-order LIV energy scale should be higher than about 10^{5} times the Planck scale M_{Pl} and that the second-order LIV scale is >10^{-3}M_{Pl}. Both limits improve by at least one order of magnitude the previous results.

[Establishment and validation of prognostic risk score model for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma based on immune related genes]. Abstract
Objective: To find the biomarkers that accurately predict the survival of patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Methods: The immune related genes that were significantly related to the overall survival (OS) of patients with ESCC were screened from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database to construct a prognostic risk score model. The prognoses of the high-risk and low-risk groups were compared by Kaplan-Meier method. The accuracy of the model was evaluated by the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Tumor tissue samples of 83 patients with pathological diagnosis of ESCC were collected from Anyang Cancer Hospital for external verification. Cox regression analysis was used to comprehensively evaluate the effects of prognostic risk score and various clinical characteristics on OS of patients with ESCC. Results: Seven immune-related genes that were significantly related to survival prognosis were selected from the TCGA database and included in the prognostic risk score model, which were S100A12, SLC40A1, FABP9, TNFSF10, IGHA2, IL1F10, and STC2. The 1- and 2-year survival rates of the low-risk group (40 cases) were 94.3% and 82.5%, respectively, while those of the high-risk group (40 cases) were 75.9% and 32.9%, respectively.The prognosis of the high-risk group was worse than that of the low-risk group (P<0.001). The 83 external validation samples obtained consistent results by using the prognostic risk score model. The prognostic risk score was positively correlated with the content of CD4(+) T lymphocytes in ESCC (r(s)=0.259, P=0.020), but not correlated with the content of B lymphocytes, CD8(+) T lymphocytes, neutrophils, macrophages or dendritic cells (P>0.05). Conclusions: S100A12, SLC40A1, FABP9, TNFSF10, IGHA2, IL1F10, and STC2 were risk genes significantly associated with OS of patients with ESCC. The prognostic risk score was an independent prognostic factor for the OS of patients with ESCC, and it was correlated with the content of CD4(+) T lymphocytes in ESCC tissue.

Abstract
The Crab Nebula is a bright source of gamma rays powered by the Crab Pulsar's rotational energy through the formation and termination of a relativistic electron-positron wind. We report the detection of gamma rays from this source with energies from 5 × 10-4 to 1.1 peta-electron volts with a spectrum showing gradual steepening over three energy decades. The ultrahigh-energy photons imply the presence of a peta-electron volt electron accelerator (a pevatron) in the nebula, with an acceleration rate exceeding 15% of the theoretical limit. We constrain the pevatron's size between 0.025 and 0.1 parsecs and the magnetic field to ≈110 microgauss. The production rate of peta-electron volt electrons, 2.5 × 1036 ergs per second, constitutes 0.5% of the pulsar spin-down luminosity, although we cannot exclude a contribution of peta-electron volt protons to the production of the highest-energy gamma rays.

Abstract
We report the discovery of an extended very-high-energy (VHE) gamma-ray source around the location of the middle-aged (207.8 kyr) pulsar PSR J0622+3749 with the Large High-Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). The source is detected with a significance of 8.2σ for E>25 TeV assuming a Gaussian template. The best-fit location is (right ascension, declination) =(95.47°±0.11°,37.92°±0.09°), and the extension is 0.40°±0.07°. The energy spectrum can be described by a power-law spectrum with an index of -2.92±0.17_{stat}±0.02_{sys}. No clear extended multiwavelength counterpart of the LHAASO source has been found from the radio to sub-TeV bands. The LHAASO observations are consistent with the scenario that VHE electrons escaped from the pulsar, diffused in the interstellar medium, and scattered the interstellar radiation field. If interpreted as the pulsar halo scenario, the diffusion coefficient, inferred for electrons with median energies of ∼160 TeV, is consistent with those obtained from the extended halos around Geminga and Monogem and much smaller than that derived from cosmic ray secondaries. The LHAASO discovery of this source thus likely enriches the class of so-called pulsar halos and confirms that high-energy particles generally diffuse very slowly in the disturbed medium around pulsars.

Abstract
The extension of the cosmic-ray spectrum beyond 1 petaelectronvolt (PeV; 1015 electronvolts) indicates the existence of the so-called PeVatrons-cosmic-ray factories that accelerate particles to PeV energies. We need to locate and identify such objects to find the origin of Galactic cosmic rays1. The principal signature of both electron and proton PeVatrons is ultrahigh-energy (exceeding 100 TeV) γ radiation. Evidence of the presence of a proton PeVatron has been found in the Galactic Centre, according to the detection of a hard-spectrum radiation extending to 0.04 PeV (ref. 2). Although γ-rays with energies slightly higher than 0.1 PeV have been reported from a few objects in the Galactic plane3-6, unbiased identification and in-depth exploration of PeVatrons requires detection of γ-rays with energies well above 0.1 PeV. Here we report the detection of more than 530 photons at energies above 100 teraelectronvolts and up to 1.4 PeV from 12 ultrahigh-energy γ-ray sources with a statistical significance greater than seven standard deviations. Despite having several potential counterparts in their proximity, including pulsar wind nebulae, supernova remnants and star-forming regions, the PeVatrons responsible for the ultrahigh-energy γ-rays have not yet been firmly localized and identified (except for the Crab Nebula), leaving open the origin of these extreme accelerators.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1 on atherosclerotic progression in apolipoprotein-E knockout (ApoE-/-) mice fed with a high-fat diet and the underlying mechanisms of its action. MATERIALS AND METHODS Eight-week-old ApoE-/- mice were treated with Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1 daily for 12 weeks. ApoE-/- mice in the vehicle group and wild type (WT) mice were treated with normal saline. Serum lipid levels, histopathological analysis of the aorta, oxidative and inflammatory indexes and activation of the nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) signaling pathway were examined. RESULTS Compared to ApoE-/- mice in the vehicle group, no changes in body weight or serum lipid levels were found in ApoE-/- mice treated with Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1. However, the administration of GR-1 slowed down the development of atherosclerosis and reduced plaque formation. Additionally, GR-1 attenuated the development of oxidative stress and chronic inflammation in a dose-dependent manner in ApoE-/- mice fed a high-fat diet. Furthermore, in ApoE-/- mice treated with GR-1, GR-1 was demonstrated to have a role in inhibiting the translocation of NF-κB p65 from the cytoplasm to the nucleus and suppressing the degradation of IκB-α. CONCLUSIONS We showed that the administration of GR-1 decreased atherosclerotic lesion size in ApoE-/- mice by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation. Additionally, the NF-κB signaling pathway might mediate these effects.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effects of exposure of fine particle matter (PM2.5) and ozone (O3) in Beijing as the main pollutants on olfaction of SD rats. Methods: In October 16, 2018, twenty 8-week-old SD rats were randomly divided into two groups, 10 rats in the exposure group and 10 rats in the control group. They were fed in air pollutant exposure system and clean experimental environment respectively, and the concentrations of PM2.5 and O3 in each system were measured. The degree of olfaction damage of SD rats at different feeding time was assessed by using the buried food test (BFT). The difference of BFT time between the two groups was analyzed by performing the repeated measures analysis of variance. Results: The results showed that the concentrations of PM2.5 and O3 in the exposure group were (22.65±11.47) μg/m3 and (12.36±5.87) μg/m3, respectively, while those in the control group were both 0 μg/m3. The repeated measures analysis of variance showed that the time of BFT in the exposure group was longer than that in the control group (F=6.49, P=0.031). With the increase of feeding time, the time of BFT was prolonged (F=61.69, P<0.001). Conclusion: Exposure to PM2.5 and O3 in the atmosphere might lead to olfaction damage in rats.

Abstract
AIM Ultrasound-guided transversus abdominis plane and rectus sheath block (TAPRSB) decreases pain scores and narcotic use postoperatively after colorectal surgery (CRS). It is unclear if the effectiveness of TAPRSB varies according to whether it is performed preoperatively or postoperatively. Our aim was to investigate this. METHOD We compared patients who underwent preoperative TAPRSB or postoperative TAPRSB during minimally invasive CRS. Primary end-points were pain scores and oral morphine milligram equivalent (MME) use postoperatively. Secondary end-points included perioperative factors affecting pain scores and postoperative MME. Summary statistics and univariate analysis by nonparametric tests were utilized. The mixed-effect model was applied to model the repeatedly measured pain score. RESULTS From April 2015 until May 2018 168 patients received TAPRSB before (115) or after (53) minimally invasive CRS. The cohort included 79 (47.0%) women, and had an average age of 59.11 (±12.32) years and mean body mass index of 28.32 (±5.82) kg/m2 . Indication for surgery was cancer in 66 (39.3%), polyp in 43 (25.6%) and diverticulitis in 43 (25.6%). Right colectomy was performed in 61 (36.3%), low anterior resection in 46 (27.4%) and sigmoid colectomy in 40 (23.8%) patients. The demographics of the groups were similar. Postoperative TAPRSB was only associated with lower pain scores at 12 h postoperatively. As secondary outcomes, average pain scores and MME were lower in patients who were older, had right colectomy or intracorporeal anastomosis. CONCLUSIONS Postoperative TAPRSB resulted in lower pain scores than preoperative TAPRSB 12 h after minimally invasive CRS, but otherwise no differences were seen in pain scores or MME use.

Abstract
Integrated high-resolution maps of carbon stocks and biodiversity that identify areas of potential co-benefits for climate change mitigation and biodiversity conservation can help facilitate the implementation of global climate and biodiversity commitments at local levels. However, the multi-dimensional nature of biodiversity presents a major challenge for understanding, mapping and communicating where and how biodiversity benefits coincide with climate benefits. A new integrated approach to biodiversity is therefore needed. Here, we (a) present a new high-resolution map of global above- and below-ground carbon stored in biomass and soil, (b) quantify biodiversity values using two complementary indices (BIp and BIr) representing proactive and reactive approaches to conservation, and (c) examine patterns of carbon-biodiversity overlap by identifying 'hotspots' (20% highest values for both aspects). Our indices integrate local diversity and ecosystem intactness, as well as regional ecosystem intactness across the broader area supporting a similar natural assemblage of species to the location of interest. The western Amazon Basin, Central Africa and Southeast Asia capture the last strongholds of highest local biodiversity and ecosystem intactness worldwide, while the last refuges for unique biological communities whose habitats have been greatly reduced are mostly found in the tropical Andes and central Sundaland. There is 38 and 5% overlap in carbon and biodiversity hotspots, for proactive and reactive conservation, respectively. Alarmingly, only around 12 and 21% of these proactive and reactive hotspot areas, respectively, are formally protected. This highlights that a coupled approach is urgently needed to help achieve both climate and biodiversity global targets. This would involve (1) restoring and conserving unprotected, degraded ecosystems, particularly in the Neotropics and Indomalaya, and (2) retaining the remaining strongholds of intactness. Abstract
BACKGROUND Macrophages may be important in chronic rejection after organ transplantation. This study aimed to investigate the possibility of depleting macrophages for a certain amount of time to alleviate chronic rejection in a heart transplant model of Fischer to Lewis rats. METHODS Clodronate liposome was injected abdominally to deplete macrophages for 2 time frames. The expression levels of ectodysplasin 1, arginase 1 (Arg1), chitinase-like lectin (Ym1), interferon gamma, tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), smooth muscle α-actin (α-SMA), monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1), and interleukin 10 (IL-10) were detected. RESULTS 1. The expression levels of α-SMA, interferon gamma, TNF-α, and MCP-1 and the transformation of peripheral T cells were lower after macrophage depletion for 2 or 4 weeks. 2. The expression levels of α-SMA, TNF-α, and MCP-1 and the transformation of peripheral T cells were even lower after 4 weeks compared with 2 weeks, except for interferon gamma. 3. A higher level of expression of Arg1 and Ym1 after macrophage depletion for 2 weeks was observed. 4. A higher level of expression of IL-10 after macrophage depletion for 2 weeks, but not 4 weeks, was also observed. CONCLUSIONS Macrophage clearance after heart transplantation alleviated chronic rejection probably via M2 polarization of regenerated macrophages, reduced T-lymphocyte proliferation, and changed the expression levels of interferon gamma, TNF-α, MCP-1, and IL-10.

Abstract
Inland streamflow estimation is essential in global water supply and environment protection. In data-scarce areas a highly efficient way of estimating streamflow is through remote sensing methods. However, high requirement of most previous methods on ground-measured data hinder their wide use in data-scarce areas. Therefore, this paper presented a new framework for estimation of streamflow in medium-to-small rivers with few ground measurements by using high-resolution unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) imagery. A new Virtual Hydraulic Radius (VHR) method was proposed to complement AMHG (at-many-stations hydraulic geometry), a method not requiring any ground measurements when global parameters are used (global-AMHG) in large-scaled rivers but yielding great uncertainties in smaller scaled rivers, thus creating a VHR-AMHG method for medium-to-small rivers. The accuracy verification of the proposed method was performed by comparing it to field measurement data and the global parameters of the original AMHG (global-AMHG). Results showed that the root mean square error calculated from VHR-AMHG was 32.15 m3/s, while that from global-AMHG was 305.65 m3/s, indicating that the VHR-AHRG method yields a significantly higher accuracy for streamflow estimation for medium-to-small rivers. We found that regardless of the size of the river, AMHG is not applicable for rivers having excessively small b values in the equation w = aQb (low-b rivers). For medium-to-small rivers with b < 0.25, AMHG is not recommended. The accuracy of the original AMHG method is limited by the initial value of the model parameters and the condition that the congruent discharge (Qc) has to be within the range of observational discharge. The initial value setting of the model parameters significantly impacts the calculation accuracy. The VHR-AMHG method is able to overcome the deficiencies of the original AMHG, i.e. being overly dependent on the initial value setting with long-series known discharge data. It also eliminates the limitation of the Qc condition, as it achieves a higher accuracy for rivers in which Qc does not satisfy the condition compared to using global-AMHG on rivers that actually meet the condition, thus greatly expanding its usage scope. Thus VHR-AMHG method can provide detailed data on the spatial and temporal distribution of regional and national streamflow for governments and stakeholders, and offer scientific data support for wisely making water supply polices and sustainably protecting eco-environment.

Abstract
It is reported both experimentally and numerically that dual-band acoustic Fano resonances (AFRs) of low-frequency sound are realized by a compound unit array composed of two types of multiple-cavity unit cells with different inner radii. Eigenmode analyses show that two types of monopolar Mie resonance (MMR) modes can be observed below 650 Hz, which arise from the coupling resonance of the overall structure and the Helmholtz resonance of each resonance cavity, respectively. Based on the MMRs with the out-of-phase characteristic induced by the mutual coupling of the two types of unit cells, the dual-band AFRs, in which the quality factor of the AFR II can exceed 600 when the ratio of the inner radii is closed to 1.0, can be observed. More interestingly, the application of the dual-band AFRs in sound encryption communication is further discussed. The proposed multiple-cavity unit cell and its associated dual-band AFRs provide diverse routes to design multiband sound devices with versatile applications, such as filtering, sensing, and communication.

Abstract
Molluscum contagiosum is a common, self-limiting infectious disease of the skin caused by molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV). The disease primarily affects children, sexually active adults, and immunocompromised individuals. Transmission of the virus occurs by direct skin contact. Therefore, the virus is usually detected in the skin and genitals of patients. However, the diagnosis of intracranial infection by the virus is difficult if the skin/mucosa lessons are atypical or absent, and the presence of the virus in the cerebrospinal fluid has not been reported. We report a very rare case of intracranial infection by molluscum contagiosum virus. A 25-year-old girl was admitted to our hospital due to severe headache but no fever or other symptoms. Upon examination, some small flesh-colored flattened papules on both arms were noticed. Blood tests showed slightly reduced levels of CD3 and CD4 T lymphocytes. Three-dimensional time-of-flight magnetic resonance angiography (3D-TOF-MRA) and head magnetic resonance (MR) were both normal. Lumbar puncture was performed, and metagenomic sequencing was applied to the spinal fluid. The unique sequences of the molluscum contagiosum virus were identified in the fluid. The patient was then diagnosed with intracranial molluscum contagiosum virus infection. No special treatment was given. The headache gradually disappeared, and the patient was discharged. During our quarterly follow-up, the girl appeared normal, and her skin lesions disappeared. However, her CD3 and CD4 T lymphocyte counts were still slightly lower than the normal level. Our case shows that the application of metagenomic sequencing to cerebrospinal fluid is a sensitive and powerful means to detect pathogens causing intracranial infection. Abstract
We performed a genome-wide association study to identify candidate genes for body measurement traits in 463 Wagyu beef cattle typed with the Illumina Bovine HD 770K SNP array. At the genome-wide level, we detected 18, five and one SNPs associated with hip height, body height and body length respectively. In total, these SNPs are within or near 11 genes, six of which (PENK, XKR4, IMPAD1, PLAG1, CCND2 and SNTG1) have been reported previously and five of which (CSMD3, LAP3, SYN3, FAM19A5 and TIMP3) are novel candidate genes that we found to be associated with body measurement traits. Further exploration of these candidate genes will facilitate genetic improvement in Chinese Wagyu beef cattle.

Abstract
SmB_{6} is a candidate topological Kondo insulator that displays surface conduction at low temperatures. Here, we perform torque magnetization measurements as a means to detect de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) oscillations in SmB_{6} crystals grown by aluminum flux. We find that dHvA oscillations occur in single crystals containing embedded aluminum, originating from the flux used to synthesize SmB_{6}. Measurements on a sample with multiple, unconnected aluminum inclusions show that aluminum crystallizes in a preferred orientation within the SmB_{6} cubic lattice. The presence of aluminum is confirmed through bulk susceptibility measurements, but does not show a signature in transport measurements. We discuss the ramifications of our results.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the role and related mechanism of resolvin D1 (RvD1) in lung ischemia-reperfusion injury (LIRI) in rats. Methods: Forty male Sprague-Dawley rats, 7-8 weeks, weighing 220-280 g, were divided into 4 groups using a random number table method: sham operation group, lung ischemia reperfusion control group, normal saline group, and RvD1 group. The rat model of LIRI was produced by 45 min of occlusion of the left hilum of lungs followed by 150 min reperfusion. In sham group, no blocking of the left hilum of lung after thoracotomy; Normal saline 2 ml/kg and RvD1 100 μg/kg were injected respectively at 10 min of reperfusion in normal saline group and RvD1 group. Blood samples were collected from the femoral vein for determination of interleukin (IL)-6, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, soluble inter-cell adhesion molecules (sICAM-1) concentrations at 150 min of reperfusion. The rats were sacrificed after collection of blood samples and then lung tissues were taken for observation of the pathological changes and for measurement of lung wet/dry weight ratio (W/D). The the contents of malondialdehyde (MDA), monocyte chemoattractant protein (MCP)-1, macrophage inflammatory protein (MIP)-2 and the activity of myeloperoxidase (MPO) in lung tissues were determined. The protein relative expression of nuclear factor (NF)-κB in lung tissues was detected by Western blot. Lung tissue cell apoptosis was detected with TUNEL method. Results: The plasma level of IL-6, TNF-α, sICAM-1 in normal saline group and RvD1 group were significantly higher than those in the Sham group [(110±7), (100±4) vs (72±3) ng/L, (151±8), (153±6) vs (104±5) ng/L, (2 690±133), (2 760±167) vs (1 953±125) ng/L]. Besides, NF-κB protein relative expression level of lung tissues up-regulated [(0.681±0.033), (0.664±0.024) vs (0.292±0.011)] (all P<0.05). The W/D, apoptosis index, MDA, MCP-1, MIP-2 contents and MPO activity in lung ischemia reperfusion control group, normal saline group and RvD1 group were significantly higher than those in the Sham group [(5.92±0.31), (5.85±0.24), (5.06±0.08) vs (4.14±0.10), (32.9±1.5)%, (31.9±1.3)%, (17.7±1.8)% vs (8.1±0.6)%, (72.1±2.3), (66.7±3.7), (34.0±1.4) vs (22.0±0.8) nmol/mg, (3.99±0.28), (3.86±0.25), (2.66±0.16) vs (1.47±0.17) pg/mg, (9.45±0.53), (9.68±0.62), (7.62±0.22) vs (4.70±0.41) pg/mg, (3.01±0.18), (2.92±0.19), (1.58±0.11) vs (0.98±0.07) U/g] (all P<0.05). The plasma levels of the cytokines mentioned above, the W/D, the apoptosis index, MDA, MCP-1, MIP-2 contents and MPO activity in RvD1 group were significantly lower than those in the lung ischemia reperfusion control group [(63±4) vs (110±7) ng/L, (90±8) vs (151±8) ng/L, (1 835±182) vs (2 690±133) ng/L, (5.06±0.08) vs (5.92±0.31), (17.7±1.8)% vs (32.9±1.5)%, (34.0±1.4) vs (72.1±2.3) nmol/mg, (2.66±0.16) vs (3.99±0.28) pg/mg, (7.62±0.22) vs (9.45±0.53) pg/mg, (1.58±0.11) vs (3.01±0.18) U/g]. Besides, NF-κB protein relative expression level of lung tissues down-regulated [(0.313±0.012) vs (0.681±0.033)] (all P<0.05). Inflammatory cell infiltration in LIRI groups increased significantly, while it was significantly reduced in RvD1 group. Conclusion: RvD1 can effectively alleviate the tissue damage caused by lung ischemia-reperfusion through down-regulating NF-κB expression, relieving inflammatory reaction and oxidative stress, reducing apoptosis in rats.
