Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate CD73 and PD-L1 and determine their relationship with each other and with overall survival (OS) in sarcoma patients. The paraffin blocks of 101 patients were analysed. 56.4% were female, and the mean age was 51.39 years. The mean OS was 20.73 months, and the Ki-67 proliferative index was 41.45. A positive correlation was found between CD73 tumour and CD73 tumour-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) findings. CD73 tumour and TIL findings were also positively correlated with PD-L1 percentages and PD-L1 intensity. An inverse correlation was detected between OS and CD73 tumour and TIL groups of 5-25%, 25-50%, 50-75%, 75-90%, and > 90%, but no such correlation was found for the ≤ 5% group. There was an inverse correlation between OS and the PD-L1 percentages of 50% and the PD-L1 intensity of weak-moderate and strong, but no correlation was found for the negative values. Lastly, an inverse correlation was found between OS and the Ki-67 proliferative index. We found CD73 and PD-L1 positivity to be associated with decreased OS in sarcoma patients and determined a significant correlation between these parameters. This result is promising in terms of achieving better survival and disease control with anti-CD73 and anti-PD-L1 therapy in selected patients.

Abstract
Objective The mucosa of the duodenum is lined by finger-like villi. In adults, the villus height to width ratio is about 4–5:1. The aim of this study is to evaluate the villus height to width ratio in the human fetus. Methods Eighty-one human fetal autopsies were included in the study. Three random villi were measured with the X and Y-axes. The statistical analysis was performed by Pearson correlation, Kolmogorov-Smirnov, chi-square, linear regression tests, and Student’s t-test. Results There were 29 female and 52 male fetuses. The age range was between 12 and 40 weeks of gestation. Of 81 fetuses, 2 were in the first trimester, 73 in the second trimester, and 6 in the third trimester. The mean villus height to width ratios in the first, second, and third trimesters were 2.75±0.37, 3.21±0.17, and 3.76±0.6, respectively. There was no correlation between the week of gestation and duodenum villus height to width ratio (p=0.080). The mean villus height to width ratios among females and males were 3.62±1.28 and 3.02±0.84, respectively (p=0.014). Conclusion In our study, villi were blunter and shorter in fetuses than in adults but not in children regardless of weeks of gestation compared to the literature. The gradual elongation of villi after birth may be attributed to environmental factors.

Abstract
Rhabdomyosarcoma is an infrequent muscular cancer seen in adults. We present a case of ileal intussusception due to pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma in a patient diagnosed previously with squamous cell carcinoma of the lung (SCCL). The patient was a 68-year-old man with a history of SCCL. He was admitted to the emergency department for nausea, emesis and obstipation. Surgical investigation of the abdomen revealed an intussusception caused by a tumour located 160cm distal of the ligament of Treitz. Pathological examination showed that tumour was a primary rhabdomyosarcoma of the ileum. This case contributes to the literature by defining an infrequent presentation of rhabdomyosarcoma causing ileal intussusception in an adult patient.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE There is no other screening program close to the success rate of PAP test. Cervical cytology constitutes a large workload so that quality control in cervical cytology is important for the quality assurance of pathology laboratories. MATERIAL AND METHOD In this study, we collected the cervical cytology results from all over Turkey and discussed the parameters influencing the quality of the PAP test. The study was conducted with Turkish gynaecopathology working group and 38 centers (totally 45 hospitals) agreed to contribute from 24 different cities. The study was designed to cover the cervical cytology results during 2013. The results were evaluated from the data based on an online questionnaire. RESULTS The total number of Epithelial Cell Abnormality was 18,020 and the global Epithelial Cell Abnormality rate was 5.08% in the total 354,725 smears and ranging between 0.3% to 16.64% among centers. The Atypical squamous cells /Squamous intraepithelial lesion ratios changed within the range of 0.21-13.94 with an average of 2.61. When the centers were asked whether they performed quality assurance studies, only 14 out of 28 centers, which shared the information, had such a control study and some quality parameters were better in these centers. CONCLUSION There is an increase in the global Epithelial Cell Abnormality rate and there are great differences among centers. Quality control studies including the Atypical squamous cells/Squamous intraepithelial lesion ratio are important. Corrective and preventive action according to quality control parameters is a must. A cervical cytology subspecialist in every center can be utopic but a dedicated pathologist in the center is certainly needed.

Abstract
Ewing's sarcoma (ES) is a small round cell tumor of adolescents or young adults that usually arises in the deep soft tissues of the extremities. The tumor cells have uniform round nuclei, fine powdery chromatin and indistinct nucleoli. CD99 (O13) is a product of the MIC 2 gene that is highly sensitive to ES but not specific. A panel of markers should be used for the differential diagnosis of small round cell tumors because nearly all others, on occasion, show membranous staining for CD99. One of the defining feature of ES is the presence of 22q12 gene rearrangement. The presented case is a 6 year-old boy complaining of swelling on his right leg. The biopsy was compatible with classic ES in terms of histopathological, immunohistochemical and cytogenetic criteria. Wide surgical resection was performed after chemotherapy. The posttreatment specimen was composed of uniformly small round cells mixed with areas of ganglion cells embedded in neurophil-like fibrillary background. Immunohistochemically, neoplastic cells revealed strong CD99 (O13) and NSE staining and the tumor had EWSR1 gene rearrangement. Morphologic alterations due to treatment are commonly seen in pediatric tumors. Single case reports have defined neural differentiation in ES but to the best of our knowledge this is the first report of ES in the literature with all histopathological, immunohistochemical, and cytogenetic criteria evaluated in both pretreatment and posttreatment specimens.
