Abstract
In this study, highly efficient fluoride removal of nano MgO was successfully synthesized using a simple hydrothermal precipitation method. Hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTMAB) was utilized as a surfactant. Its long-chain structure tightly wrapped around the precursor crystal of basic magnesium chloride, inhibiting the growth of precursor crystals, reducing their size, and improving crystal dispersion. This process enhanced the adsorption capacity of nano MgO for fluoride. The adsorption performance of nano MgO on fluoride was investigated. The results indicate that pseudo-second-order kinetics and the Langmuir isotherm model can describe the adsorption behavior for fluoride, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 122.47 mg/g. Methods such as XRD, SEM, XPS, and FTIR were employed to study the adsorption mechanisms of the adsorbent. Additionally, factors potentially affecting adsorption performance in practical applications, such as pH and competing ions, were examined. This study enhances our profound understanding of the defluorination effectiveness and mechanisms of nano MgO.

Abstract
This study explores the potential mechanisms of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) complicates type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) by which chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) induces insulin resistance and cell apoptosis in the pancreas through oxidative stress. Four- and eight-week CIH rat models were established, and Tempol (100 mg/kg/d), was used as an oxidative stress inhibitor. This study included five groups: 4-week CIH, 4-week CIH-Tempol, 8-week CIH, 8-week CIH-Tempol and normal control (NC) groups. Fasting blood glucose and insulin levels were measured in the serum. The expression levels of 8-hidroxy-2-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG), tribbles homologue 3 (TRB3), c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), phosphorylated JNK (p-JNK), insulin receptor substrate-1 (IRS-1), phosphorylated IRS-1 (Ser307) (p-IRS-1ser307 ), protein kinase B (AKT), phosphorylated AKT (Ser473) (p-AKTser473 ), B cell lymphoma protein-2 (Bcl-2), cleaved-caspase-3 (Cl-caspase-3), and the islet cell apoptosis were detected in the pancreas. CIH induced oxidative stress in the pancreas. Compared with that in the NC group and CIH-Tempol groups individually, the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and apoptosis of islet cells was increased in the CIH groups. CIH-induced oxidative stress increased the expression of p-IRS-1Ser307 and decreased the expression of p-AKTSer473 . The expression levels of TRB3 and p-JNK were higher in the CIH groups than in both the CIH-Tempol and NC groups. Meanwhile, the expressions of Cl-caspase-3 and Bcl-2 were upregulated and downregulated, respectively, in the CIH groups. Hence, the present study demonstrated that CIH-induced oxidative stress might not only induce insulin resistance but also islet cell apoptosis in the pancreas through TRB3 and p-JNK.

Abstract
As a life-threatening disease, acute lung injury (ALI) may progress to chronic pulmonary fibrosis. For the treatment of lung injury, Tempol is a superoxide dismutase mimetic and intracellular redox agent that can be a potential drug. This study investigated the regulatory mechanism of Tempol in the treatment of ALI. A mouse model of ALI was established, and HE staining was used to examine histomorphology. The CCK-8 assay was used to measure cell viability, and oxidative stress was assessed by corresponding kits. Flow cytometry and dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate staining assays were used to detect reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. Protein expression levels were measured by Western blot analysis and ELISA. Pulmonary vascular permeability was used to measure the lung wet/dry weight ratio. The level of oxidative stress was increased in ALI mice, and the level of ferroptosis was upregulated. Tempol inhibited this effect and alleviated ALI. The administration of Tempol alleviated the pathological changes in ALI, inhibited pulmonary vascular permeability, and improved lung injury in ALI mice. The upregulation of genes essential for glutathione (GSH) metabolism induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was inhibited by Tempol. In addition, nuclear factor-related factor 2 (Nrf2) is activated by Tempol therapy to regulate the de novo synthesis pathway of GSH, thereby alleviating LPS-induced lung epithelial cell damage. The results showed that Tempol alleviated ALI by activating the Nrf2 pathway to inhibit oxidative stress and ferroptosis in lung epithelial cells. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that Tempol alleviates ALI by inhibiting ferroptosis in lung epithelial cells through the effect of Nrf2 on GSH synthesis.

Abstract
Hydroxy-α-sanshool (HAS) is the predominant active compound in Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim (ZBM). Our present work was aimed to explore the in vitro metabolism characteristics, and in vivo pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of HAS. Plasma (human), liver microsomes, and hepatocytes (human, monkey, dog, mouse, and rat) were collected for HAS metabolism studies in vitro and HAS elimination rates in liver microsomes and hepatocytes of different species were investigated. In addition, five recombinant human CYP enzymes were used to identify CYP isoforms of HAS. Finally, the PK properties of HAS in rats in vivo were studied by oral administration (p.o.). The results showed that HAS stably metabolized in human and rat liver microsomes and human hepatocytes, and the binding of HAS to human plasma proteins was nonspecific; HAS has strong inhibitory effects on CYP2C9 and CYP2D6 of human liver microsomes. In addition, in vivo PK study, HAS is rapidly absorbed in rats after oral administration. In conclusion, the in vivo and in vitro metabolic studies of HAS in this study provide data support for its further development and application, and the metabolic profiles of different species can be used as a reference for its safety evaluation.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Obstructive sleep apnea is closely related to oxidative stress. 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (Tempol) can scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS) and ameliorate oxidative damage in the body. The mechanism by which Tempol alleviates chronic intermittent hypoxia-induced lung injury has rarely been reported. This study aimed to confirm the molecular mechanism by which Tempol alleviates lung injury. METHODS The levels of miR-212-5p and Sirtuin 6 (SIRT6) in injured lungs were analyzed using bioinformatics. In vitro, intermittent hypoxia (IH) treatment induced hypoxia in BEAS-2B cells and we established a model of chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) in mouse using a programmed hypoxia chamber. We used HE staining to observe the morphology of lung tissue, and the changes in lung fibers were observed by Masson staining. The levels of inflammatory factors in mouse serum were detected by ELISA, and the levels of the oxidative stress indicators GSH, MDA, SOD and ROS were detected using commercially available kits. Moreover, a real-time qPCR assay was used to detect miR-212-5p expression, and Western blotting was used to detect the levels of SIRT6, HIF-1α and apoptosis-related proteins. CCK-8 was used to detect cell proliferation. Subsequently, we used flow cytometry to detect cell apoptosis. Dual-luciferase gene reporters determine the on-target binding relationship of miR-212-5p and SIRT6. RESULTS SIRT6 was highly expressed in CIH-induced lung injury, as shown by bioinformatics analysis; however, miR-212-5p expression was decreased. Tempol promoted miR-212-5p expression, and the levels of SIRT6 and HIF-1α were inhibited. In BEAS-2B cells, Tempol also increased proliferation, inhibited apoptosis and inhibited oxidative stress in BEAS-2B cells under IH conditions. In BEAS-2B cells, these effects of Tempol were reversed after transfection with an miR-212-5p inhibitor. miR-212-5p targeted and negatively regulated the level of SIRT6 and overexpression of SIRT6 effectively reversed the enhanced influence of the miR-212-5p mimic on Tempol's antioxidant activity. Tempol effectively ameliorated lung injury in CIH mice and inhibited collagen deposition and inflammatory cell infiltration. Likewise, the therapeutic effect of Tempol could be effectively reversed by interference with the miR-212-5p inhibitor. CONCLUSION Inhibition of the SIRT6-HIF-1α signaling pathway could promote the effect of Tempol by upregulating the level of miR-212-5p, thereby alleviating the occurrence of lung injury and providing a new underlying target for the treatment of lung injury.

Abstract
In recent years, the incidence of thyroid cancer has been on a significant rise worldwide, and a number of environmental factors have been suspected to be risk factors for thyroid cancer, especially the relationship between iodine intake and thyroid cancer has attracted attention. In this study, we want to assess the relationship between different water iodine exposures and thyroid cancer incidence before and after water alteration in areas with high water iodine in China. Thyroid cancer patients (2009-2020) were enrolled at two hospitals, both in Heze City, Shandong Province, an area with high water iodine levels. According to the criteria of the study, 5826 cases out of 8785 cases were selected for inclusion in the study. Before and after water alteration, the incidence of thyroid cancer was highest in areas with water iodine concentrations of 200-300 μg/L in high iodine areas. In areas where water iodine decreased to adequate iodine levels, there was a strong negative correlation between the decreased level of water iodine and the incidence of thyroid cancer. In addition, in cases with pathology reports, we found that the greater the decrease in water iodine values, the markedly smaller the maximum diameter of the thyroid cancer lesions. Taken together, these findings suggest that we should continue to monitor the incidence of thyroid cancer in areas with high water iodine and continue to optimize population iodine intake to reduce the incidence of thyroid cancer.

Abstract
This study mainly explored the effect of Tempol on OSA-induced lung injury and the specific molecular mechanism. A hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) cell model and an IH-induced lung injury model in rats were constructed. The expression of miRNAs and related proteins was detected by RT‒qPCR and Western blotting. HE and Masson staining were used to observe the pathological changes in lung tissues. The expression levels of inflammatory cytokines were detected by ELISA. Apoptotic cells were observed by TUNEL. The ROS levels were detected by a DCFH-DA probe. Tempol administration effectively reduced the pathological changes in lung tissue and the progression of pulmonary fibrosis in rats with lung injury and reduced the expression of inflammatory factors in lung tissue. miR-145-5p was significantly upregulated in rats with IH-induced lung injury, and Tempol treatment inhibited the expression of miR-145-5p. Transfection with the miR-145-5p inhibitor effectively inhibited H/R cell apoptosis and autophagy, while transfection with the miR-145-5p mimic had the opposite effect. Targeting miR-145-5p negatively regulates the expression of Nrf2. Transfection of the miR-145-5p mimic weakened the inhibitory effects of Tempol on apoptosis and autophagy in H/R cells. Overexpression of the Nrf2 mimic reversed the effects of the miR-145-5p mimic on Tempol to a certain extent. It was also confirmed in animal experiments that overexpression of Nrf2 reversed the inhibitory effect of the miR-145-5p mimic on Tempol's lung injury relief effect. Tempol alleviates lung injury induced by chronic interstitial hypoxia by regulating the miR-145-5p/Nrf2 molecular axis and inhibiting autophagy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the sequences of internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) and cyclooxygenase 1 (COX1) genes of Paragonimus metacercariae in freshwater crabs in Henan Province, identify the species of Paragonimus and evaluate its genetic relationships with Paragonimus isolates from other provinces in China. METHODS Freshwater crabs were collected from 8 survey sites in Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Pingdingshan, Nanyang and Jiyuan cities of Henan Province from 2016 to 2021, and Paragonimus metacercariae were detected in freshwater crabs. Genomic DNA was extracted from Paragonimus metacercariae, and the ITS2 and COX1 genes were amplified using PCR assay, followed by sequencing of PCR amplification products. The gene sequences were spliced and aligned using the software DNASTAR, and aligned with the sequences of Paragonimus genes in the GenBank. Phylogenetic trees were created using the MEGA6 software with the Neighbor-Joining method based on ITS2 and COX1 gene sequences, with Fasciola hepatica as the outgroup. RESULTS The detection rates of Paragonimus metacercariae were 6.83% (11/161), 50.82% (31/61), 18.52% (5/26), 8.76% (12/137), 14.29% (9/63), 17.76% (19/105), 18.50% (32/173) and 42.71% (41/96) in freshwater crabs from 8 survey sites in Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Pingdingshan, Nanyang and Jiyuan cities of Henan Province, with a mean detection rate of 19.46% (160/822), and a mean infection intensity of 0.57 metacercariae/g. The amplified ITS2 and COX1 gene fragments of Paragonimus were approximately 500 bp and 450 bp in lengths, respectively. The ITS2 gene sequences of Paragonimus metacercariae from 8 survey sites of Henan Province showed the highest homology (99.8% to 100.0%) with the gene sequence of P. skrjabini (GenBank accession number: MW960209.1), and phylogenetic analysis showed that the Paragonimus in this study was clustered into the same clade with P. skrjabini from Sichuan Province (GenBank accession number: AY618747.1), Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GenBank accession number: AY618729.1) and Hubei Province (GenBank accession number: AY618751.1), and P. miyazaki from Fujian Province (GenBank accession number: AY618741.1) and Japan (GenBank accession number: AB713405.1). The COX1 gene sequences of Paragonimus metacercariae from 8 survey sites of Henan Province showed the highest homology (90.0% to 100.0%) with the gene sequence of P. skrjabini (GenBank accession number: AY618798.1), and phylogenetic analysis showed that the Paragonimus in this study was clustered into the same clade with all P. skrjabini and clustered into the same sub-clade with P. skrjabini from Hubei Province (GenBank accession numbers: AY618782.1 and AY618764.1). CONCLUSIONS Paragonimus species from freshwater crabs in Henan Province were all characterized as P. skrjabini, and the ITS2 and COX1 gene sequences had the highest homology to those of P. skrjabini from Hubei Province. The results provide insights into study of Paragonimus in Henan Province and China.

Abstract
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGY RELEVANCE Rhodiola granules (RG) is a traditional Tibetan medicine prescription that can be used to improve the symptoms of ischemia and hypoxia in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. However, there is no report on its use to improve myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury, and its potential active ingredients and mechanism against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury remain unclear. AIM OF THE STUDY This study aimed to reveal the potential bioactive components and underlying pharmacological mechanisms of RG in improving myocardial I/R injury through a comprehensive strategy. MATERIALS AND METHODS UPLC-Q-Exactive Orbitrap/MS technology was used to analyze the chemical components of RG, the potential bioactive components and targets were tracked and predicted by the SwissADME and SwissTargetPrediction databases, and the core targets were predicted through the PPI network, as well the functions and pathways were determined by GO and KEGG analysis. In addition, the molecular docking and ligation of the anterior descending coronary artery-induced rat I/R models were experimentally validated. RESULTS A total of 37 ingredients were detected from RG, including nine flavones, ten flavonoid glycosides, one glycoside, eight organic acids, four amides, two nucleosides, one amino acid, and two other components. Among them, 15 chemical components, such as salidroside, morin, diosmetin, and gallic acid were identified as key active compounds. Ten core targets, including AKT1, VEGF, PTGS2, and STAT3, were discovered through the analysis of the PPI network constructed from 124 common potential targets. These possible targets were involved in the regulation of oxidative stress and HIF-1/VEGF/PI3K-Akt signaling pathways. Furthermore, molecular docking confirmed that the potential bioactive compounds in RG have good potential binding abilities to AKT1, VEGFA, PTGS2, STAT3, and HIF-1α proteins. Then, the animal experiments showed that RG could significantly improve the cardiac function of I/R rats, reduce the size of myocardial infarction, improve the myocardial structure, and reduce the degree of myocardial fibrosis, inflammatory cell infiltration, and myocardial cell apoptosis rate in I/R rats. In addition, we also found that RG could decrease the concentration of AGE, Ox-LDL, MDA, MPO, XOD, SDH, Ca2+, and ROS, and increase the concentration of Trx, TrxR1, SOD, T-AOC, NO, ATP, Na+k+-ATPase, Ca2+-ATPase, and CCO. Moreover, RG could significantly down-regulate the expressions of Bax, Cleaved-caspase3, HIF-1α, and PTGS2, as well up-regulate the expressions of Bcl-2, VEGFA, p-AKT1, and p-STAT3. CONCLUSION In summary, we revealed for the first time the potential active ingredients and mechanisms of RG for myocardial I/R injury therapy through a comprehensive research strategy. RG may synergistically improve myocardial I/R injury through anti-inflammatory, regulating energy metabolism, and oxidative stress, improving I/R-induced myocardial apoptosis, which may be related to the HIF-1/VEGF/PI3K-Akt signaling pathway. Our study provides new insights into the clinical application of RG and also provides a reference for the development and mechanism research of other Tibetan medicine compound preparations.

Abstract
Carbon black (CB) has been widely used in many fields; because the color depth of CB is not as good as dyes, black depth and color fastness cannot meet the requirements of users. Therefore, the application of CB in the textile field is greatly restricted. For this purpose, in this paper, we prepared liquid DB@CB (disperse black dye (DB)-modified carbon black) using mixed milling of CB and DB (consisting of Disperse Blue 79, Disperse Orange 288, and Disperse Violet 93). Using the dip-dry-bake method, polyester/spandex fabrics with excellent color fastness, deep black color, and good electrical conductivity were prepared. The rheological properties and interactions of CB and DB were studied by rheometer and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), the effects of DB@CB concentration on fabric resistance and electrical conductivity were investigated, the properties of DB@CB dyed fabrics were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and the stability and conductivity mechanism of liquid DB@CB were analyzed. The results showed that the liquid DB@CB was a pseudoplastic fluid based on strong intermolecular interaction by repulsive forces of CB and attractive forces of DB, improving the ordered arrangement and stability of CB and DB molecules. The liquid DB@CB showed a two-dimensional lamellar structure with a vortex-shaped helical molecular arrangement between CB and DB. The polyester/spandex fabrics dyed with DB@CB, had polygonal crystal structures and π-π* intermolecular interactions. It not only improved the conductivity of the fabric but also shows excellent color fastness, which can meet the application requirements of textiles and apparel for deep black, conductivity, and color fastness.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Growth differentiation factor-10 (GDF-10), a member of the TGF-β superfamily, plays a crucial role in cell proliferation and differentiation. In some tumors, GDF-10 can act as a tumor suppressor to inhibit tumor progression, but its role in posterior squamous cell carcinoma has not been reported yet. METHODS The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of GDF-10 on the epithelial-mesenchymal transition of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, and to provide new ideas for future targets in the treatment of laryngeal squamous carcinoma. RESULTS The effect of GDF-10 on tumor growth was detected; bioinformatics analysis was performed to predict the downstream targets of GDF-10, and RT-PCR and western blot were performed to detect the expression levels of target genes and proteins, respectively. CONCLUSION Our findings support that GDF-10 can inhibit the proliferation, migration, and invasion, and promote apoptosis of laryngeal carcinoma AMC-HN-8 cells. GDF-10 inhibits the EMT of laryngeal carcinoma through LRP4 and thus inhibits the progression of laryngeal carcinoma.

Abstract
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia. The fruits of Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim. is a common spice and herbal medicine in China, and hydroxy-α-sanshool (HAS) is the most abundant amide in Z. bungeanum and reported to have significant hypoglycemic effects. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ameliorative effects of HAS on T2DM and the potential mechanisms responsible for those effects. An acute toxicity test revealed the median lethal dose (LD50) of HAS is 73 mg/kg. C57BL/6 J mice were fed a high-fat diet and given an intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ) to induce T2DM in mice to evaluate the hypoglycemic effects of HAS. The results showed that HAS significantly reduced fasting blood glucose, reduced pathological changes in the liver and pancreas, and increased liver glycogen content. In addition, glucosamine (GlcN)-induced HepG2 cells were used to establish an insulin resistance cell model and explore the molecular mechanisms of HAS activity. The results demonstrated that HAS significantly increases glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis in HepG2 cells and activates the PI3K/Akt pathway in GlcN-induced cells, as well as increases GSK-3β phosphorylation, suppresses phosphorylation of glycogen synthase (GS) and increases glycogen synthesis in liver cells. Furthermore, these effects of HAS were blocked by the PI3K inhibitor LY294002. The results of our study suggest that HAS reduces hepatic insulin resistance and increases hepatic glycogen synthesis by activating the PI3K/Akt/GSK-3β/GS signaling pathway.

Abstract
Echinococcosis is a zoonotic parasitic disease caused by Echinococcus infections, and this disorder may cause fibrosis of multiple vital organs, which may further progress into cirrhosis. Early-stage hepatic fibrosis is reversible, and unraveling the mechanisms underlying hepatic fibrosis induced by Echinococcus infections is of great significance for the prevention and treatment of early-stage hepatic fibrosis. Recently, the studies pertaining to hepatic fibrosis associated with Echinococcus infections focus on cytokines and immune cells. This review summarizes the advances in the mechanisms underlying host immune cells- and cytokines-mediated hepatic fibrosis in humans or mice following Echinococcus infections.

Abstract
BackgroundRaw hawthorn (RH) is a traditional Chinese medicine commonly used to treat indigestion. Charred hawthorn (CH) is obtained from RH by charring. It is reported that the effect of CH treatment on dyspepsia is stronger than RH. However, this has not been fully proven. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of RH and CH on functional dyspepsia (FD) model rats. And contribute to the development of dietary therapy for dyspepsia.MethodsSPF-grade male SD rats were divided into 5 groups: the control group, the model group, the Mos group, the RH group, and the CH group. The FD rat model was established by using the methods of water restriction, fasting, tilting cage restraint, day and night upside down, swimming, and tail damping. The body weight of rats in each group was recorded. And the gastric emptying rate, intestinal propulsive rate, and the levels of motilin (MTL), gastrin (GAS), and 5-HT in serum were compared in each group. The expression of C-kit in the stomach and small intestine of each group was compared by immunofluorescence and PCR.ResultsRH and CH could increase weight, improve the gastric emptying rate and intestinal propulsive rate, and promote the secretion of motilin (MTL), gastrin (GAS), and 5-HT in the serum of FD rats. RH and CH can upregulate the expression of the characteristic protein c-kit of ICC in the stomach and small intestine of FD model rats, and the effect of CH is stronger than RH.ConclusionRH and CH may increase the number of interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) in the gastrointestinal tract by upregulating c-kit expression, thus improving gastrointestinal motility in FD model rats. And compared with RH, CH has certain advantages.

Abstract
The fruits of Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim. Was a popular traditional Chinese herbal medicine for pain relief, itching prevention, and diarrhea relief. The fruits of Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim. Essential oil (HEO) had an effect of improving anxiety and other emotional disorders. In this paper, we aim to systematically research the antidepressant effects of HEO on Chronic Mild Unpredictable Stimulation (CUMS) mice and explore the relevant molecular mechanisms. Experimental mice were exposed to CUMS for 8 weeks. Meanwhile, for 8 weeks, Sertraline hydrochloride (20 mg/kg/day) and HEO (50, 100, and 150 mg/kg/day) were administered by gavage. HEO treatment increased residence time of central zone in OFT and open-arm in EPM test but decreased immobility times in FST and TST. Moreover, HEO treatment improved the levels of 5-HT, DA, NE, and BDNF, but reduced CRF and CORT levels of the HPA axis in the hippocampus. Network pharmacology predicted the possible mechanisms for the antidepressant effects of HEO by regulation of PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. The mRNA expression of PI3K and Akt were increased, and immunofluorescence results in the hippocampus indicated that HEO treatment could increase the phosphorylation of PI3K and Akt. Besides, the viability of CORT-treated PC12 cells was significantly improved by HEO treatment. The AO-EB staining, MOMP analysis, and flow cytometry analysis results showed HEO inhibiting the CORT-induced apoptosis in PC12 cells significantly. Besides, the phosphorylation of PI3K and Akt in COTR-induced PC12 cells could increase by HEO treatment. In conclusion, HEO ameliorated depression behavior induced by CUMS, potentially via regulating HPA axis and activating PI3K/Akt signaling pathway to reduce neuronal apoptosis.

Abstract
The larvae of Echinococcus (hydatidcyst) can parasitize humans and animals, causing a serious zoonotic disease-echinococcosis. The life history of Echinococcus is complicated, and as the disease progresses slowly after infection, early diagnosis is difficult to establish. Due to the limitations of imaging and immunological diagnosis in this respect, domestic and foreign scholars have established a variety of molecular detection techniques for the pathogen Echinococcus over recent years, mainly including nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR), multiplex PCR, real-time quantitative PCR, and nucleic acid isothermal amplification technology. In this article, the research progress of molecular detection technology for Echinococcus infection currently was reviewed and the significance of these methods in the detection and diagnosis of hydatid and hydatid diseases was also discussed.

Abstract
Hypertension is a confirmed risk factor for cerebral hemorrhage in humans. Which endogenous factor directly induces hypertension-related hemorrhage is unclear. In this study, 42 hemorrhagic patients with hypertension and hyperlipidemia and 42 age-matched healthy controls were enrolled. The contents of serum semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase (SSAO) and formic acid (FC, FC is a final product of SSAO through the oxidation of endogenous formaldehyde, which results from the enzymatic oxidative deamination of the SSAO substrate, methylamine) were examined in the patients after stroke. Hemorrhagic areas were quantified by computer tomography. In the animal study, hemorrhagic degree was assessed by hemotoxylin & eosin or tissue hemoglobin kits. The relationship between FC and blood pressure/hemorrhagic degree was examined in wild-type mice and hSSAOTG mice fed with high-fat diets or high-fat and -salt diets. The results showed that the levels of serum FC were positively correlated with blood pressure and hemorrhagic areas in hemorrhagic patients. Transfection of microRNA-134 could enhance SSAO expression in human vascular smooth muscle cells. Consistently, after treatment with high-fat and -salt diets, hSSAOTG mice exhibited higher levels of miR134 and FC, higher blood pressure, and more severe hemorrhage than wild-type mice. Interestingly, folic acid reduced hypertension and hemorrhage in hSSAOTG mice fed with high-fat diets. These findings suggest that FC is a crucial endogenous factor for hypertension and hemorrhage.

Abstract
Phosphate crystals attract much attention on account of their rich crystal structures and excellent physical and chemical properties. Herein, Rb3Ti3P5O20 single crystals were grown by the high temperature solution method using Rb2CO3 and NH4H2PO4 as the fluxes. This crystal, with non-centrosymmetric Pca21 space group, presents a three-dimensional framework structure composed of [TiO6] octahedron, [PO4] tetrahedra, and [P2O7] dimers. The electronic structure was measured via X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The measurements found that Rb3Ti3P5O20 has stronger Ti–O ionic bonding properties and weaker P–O covalent bonding properties compared to RbTiOPO4. Optical measurements indicated that Rb3Ti3P5O20 has a 3.54 eV band gap and a wide transmission range (0.33–4.5 μm). Theoretical calculations showed that Rb3Ti3P5O20 crystals have a moderate birefringence of 0.079 at 1064 nm. In addition, the relationship of the structure–property was studied using first-principles method. The results demonstrated that TiO6 octahedron played a significant role for the optical properties.

Abstract
Background X-ray fluoroscopy has been the primary cardiac imaging modality in permanent pacemaker implantation (PPI) operations, but it inevitably results in radiation exposure for both operators and patients. Fluoroscopy is considered a contraindication, especially in certain circumstances, such as gestation, during which the fetus is most sensitive to radiation exposure. Therefore, measures to avoid radiation exposure are necessary, and a more safe and feasible approach is needed for this procedure. Since the EnSite NavX mapping system (ENMS) can create the required geometric contours of those relevant cardiac structures and chambers, it can be used as an alternative to X-ray fluoroscopy in PPI. In addition, because the displacement of atrial leads is a common complication of PPI, lead displacement may occur more readily without fluoroscopic guidance. Therefore, reliable measures are required to prevent leads from displacement. Case introduction A 41-year-old woman at the 15th week of gestation was referred to our department with recurrent episodes of syncope and amaurosis fugax for 2 years. Holter monitoring showed sinus rhythm, Mobitz Type II atrioventricular block and high-grade atrioventricular block with ventricular arrest up to 4945 ms. A dual-chamber PPI was performed successfully for the patient under the guidance of the ENMS instead of fluoroscopy. Displacement of atrial lead was effectively avoided by bending the top of atrial lead before implantation and making it a U-shape during operation, which left space for possible subsequent external pulling stress. Conclusions For PPI, ENMS is a feasible and reliable alternative to traditional X-ray fluoroscopy, especially when performing operations on pregnant patients. By bending the top of the active-fixation atrial lead into a U-shape during operation, the displacement of atrial lead may be avoided.

Abstract
BackgroundThe European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR)1 recently provided updated guidelines regarding the initiation and modification of disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) therapy in patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). Therefore, real-world evidence studies are warranted to provide insights into first-line DMARD utilization and durability of response in the second-line setting.ObjectivesTo analyze RA treatment patterns in real-world data and compare durability of response between second-line DMARDs + anti-TNF (TNFi) therapies vs. TNFi monotherapy.MethodsElectronic health records (EHRs) from a large health system in the Northeast US were used to identify RA patients. Lines of therapy were defined based on confirmed prescriptions for DMARDs and TNFi therapies. Time to next treatment (TTNT) was the primary outcome to estimate durability of response. Time-to-event analyses were performed using Kaplan-Meier and log-rank test methods. In addition, a Cox Proportional-Hazards (CoxPH) model was used to evaluate covariates as independent predictors of disease progression.ResultsOur study cohort consisted of 8,040 patients who had at least one line of therapy for RA. Conventional synthetic DMARDs (csDMARDs) were the predominant first line of therapy in this dataset (71.3%), followed by TNFi alone (11.1%) or TNFi combined with csDMARD (9.1%) (Figure 1).For patients who had csDMARD as their first line of therapy, 22.93% progressed to second line treatment. Among them 36.2% patients were TNFi with or without in combination with csDMARDs. In the second-line, TNFi + csDMARDs were associated with a longer TTNT (median time: 13.1 months vs 6.1 months, P < 0.005) compared to TNFi monotherapy. The multiple variable CoxPH model (adjusted for age, gender, and race) demonstrated that second-line TNFi + csDMARDs had a lower hazard rate when compared to TNFi monotherapy (HR = 0.74, 95% CI: 0.36 - 1.12, p < 0.005).ConclusionWe demonstrated the first comprehensive treatment sequencing patterns in RA from a real-world setting. As a second-line therapy for patients with inadequate response to csDMARDS, the TNFi + csDMARDs combination may improve duration of response when compared to TNFi monotherapy. Abstract
BACKGROUND The odor and flavor produced by a complex mixture of chemical components with different amounts and thresholds, which is the unique property for food and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). These compounds usually belong to mono- and sesquiterpenes, esters, lipids, and others. OBJECTIVE This review was aimed to demonstrate the extraction method and reliable technology for identifying the compounds responsible for their odor and flavor. METHOD Summarize existing techniques for the analysis of taste and odor components and their characteristics, such as electronic nose (enose, EN) and electronic tongue (etongue, ET), which can separate the high-quality food from low quality, natural from artificial food in terms of unique odor and flavor. RESULTS Gas chromatography-olfactometry mass spectrometry (GC-O-MS), a technique coupled Gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) with human sense by Olfactory Detector Ports, has been successfully applied for screening the odor-producing components with representative odor for the food or Chinese medicine. CONCLUSION This current review provides some guidelines for quality evaluation of food or Chinese medicine.

Abstract
Ion cyclotron resonance heating (ICRH), one of the main auxiliary methods, for high-power and long-pulse plasma heating had been developed in Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST). An impedance matching system, one important part of ICRH, had been developed for high-power injection and transmitter protection by reducing the reflected power from the antenna. The input impedance in the outlet of the stub tuner can be measured by voltage-current probes installed on the coaxial transmission line between the antenna and triple liquid stub tuners, and the optimum liquid levels in the stub tuners can be calculated based on the input impedance. The calculation and adjustment process of the optimum liquid levels are described comprehensively in this article. Finally, impedance matching had been achieved between two shots during EAST experiments. In the near future, a real-time impedance matching system will be developed to prevent large variations of the ICRH antenna impedance and achieve steady-state and long-pulse operation with the ICRH system.

PURPOSE The aim was to explore the correlation between Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and Lung adenocarcinoma malignant prognosis and evaluate the miR-142-3p was used as an OSA severity indicator to predict the prognosis of Lung adenocarcinoma patients. METHODS This study comprised of 21 diagnosed lung adenocarcinoma patients with or without OSA. The sleep-related variables and tumor pathology were recorded. Hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF1α) and ki67 expression were analyzed by immunohistochemistry in tumor samples. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was performed to assess the level of miR-142-3p. RESULTS Lung adenocarcinoma with OSA showed higher apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), oxygen desaturation index (ODI), and the lower lowest pulse oxygen saturation (LSPO2) compared to Lung adenocarcinoma without OSA (P<0.05), and patients with severer OSA have an advanced TNM stage (P=0.004) and metastasis rate (p=0.032). In addition, OSA may down-regulate the miR-142-3p expression in patients with Lung adenocarcinoma, and the patients with low miR-142-3p expression exhibited severe OSA. MiR-142-3p levels significantly decreased in the advanced TNM stage (p=0.015), and the expression of miR-142-3p was negatively associated with AHI (r= -0.505, p=0.020), ODI (r= -0.513, p=0.017). CONCLUSION OSA severity may increase Lung adenocarcinoma malignant prognosis. OSA may down-regulate the expression of miR-42-3p. The expression of miR-142-3p was inversely correlated with AHI and ODI as a surrogate of OSA severity. Additionally, the low miR-142-3p expression level was significantly associated with advanced TNM stage in Lung adenocarcinoma patients.

Abstract
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a set of heterogeneous diseases characterized by a not entirely reversible and in most cases gradual restriction of expiratory flow. Tobacco smoke is a common risk factor for the development of COPD, but the effects of coming into contact with indoor air pollutants are also significant, and the exacerbation of COPD is one of the most significant reasons for intensive care unit (ICU) admission. Registered nurses play a key role with regard to dealing with the adverse events associated with respiratory dysfunction. They track the condition of patients through their physiologic activity. The clinical treatment provided by nurses depends on the cause and type of insufficiency present in patients with respiratory failure. The aim of this study was to understand how emergency nurses could better develop their roles in ICU patients with respiratory failure due to COPD. There are many different interventions for different causes of respiratory failure. The clinical measures of respiratory dysfunction, such as changes in respiratory velocity, and occurrence of dyspnea, hypoxemia and acidosis are significant factors in the diagnosis of respiratory dysfunction and the evaluation of the risk for adverse events. Thus, nursing aims include avoiding hypoxia, reducing hypercapnia-associated acidosis and reducing complications and agitation in patients with respiratory failure due to COPD.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To establish a nucleic acid assay for detection of Paragonimus skrjabini based on the recombinase-aided isothermal amplification (RAA) technique, and to preliminarily evaluate its detection efficiency. METHODS The metacercariae of P. skrjabini, P. westermani and Euparagonimus cenocopiosus were isolated from crabs, and genomic DNA was extracted for molecular characterization. The cytochrome coxidase 1 (cox1) gene sequence of P. skrjabini was selected as the target gene fragment, and the primers and probes were designed, screened and synthesized for RAA assay. The genomic DNA of P. skrjabini metacercariae from Jiyuan City and Yiyang County of Luoyang City, Henan Province were used as templates for verification of the fluorescent RAA assay. The fluorescent RAA assay was performed to detect different concentrations of plasmids containing target gene fragment and P. skrjabini metacercariae genomic DNA to determine the sensitivity. Fluorescent RAA assay was performed with recombinant plasmids containing P. skrjabini cox1 gene sequences at different concentrations and P. skrjabini genomic DNA as templates to evaluate its sensitivity, and the genomic DNA of P. westermani, E. cenocopiosus, Clonorchis sinensis and Schistosoma japonicum was detected with fluorescent RAA assay to evaluate its specificity. RESULTS P. skrjabini, P. westermani and E. cenocopiosus metacercariae were isolated from crabs, respectively. Molecular characterization and phylogenetic analysis confirmed their homology with the genes sequences of standard Paragonimus strains in GenBank. A fluorescent RAA assay was successfully established for nucleic acid detection of P. skrjabini, and the genomic DNA of P. skrjabini metacercariae from Jiyuan City and Yiyang County of Luoyang City, Henan Province was amplified using the fluorescent RAA assay within 5 min, while the negative control was not amplified. If the recombinant plasmid containing P. skrjabini cox1 gene sequences was used as templates, the fluorescent RAA assay showed the lowest detection limit of 10 copies/μL, and positive amplification was observed within 5 min. If genomic DNA was used as templates, the fluorescent RAA assay showed the lowest detection limit of 10 pg/μL, and all positive amplifications were found within 5 to 10 min. In addition, the fluorescent RAA assay was tested negative for P. westermani, E. cenocopiosus, C. sinensis and S. japonicum. CONCLUSIONS A rapid, sensitive and specific fluorescent RAA assay is successfully established for nucleic acid detection of P. skrjabini, which has potential values in rapid field detection and species identification in freshwater crabs in areas endemic for P. skrjabini.

Abstract
Dysregulation of formaldehyde (FA) has been implicated in the development of Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Elevated FA levels in Alzheimer's patients and animal models are associated with impaired cognitive functions. However, the exact role of FA in AD remains unknown. We now identified that oxidative demethylation at serine8/26 of amyloid-beta protein (Aβ) induced FA generation and FA cross-linked with the lysine28 residue in the β-turn of Aβ monomer to form Aβ dimers, and then accelerated Aβ oligomerization and fibrillogenesis in vitro. However, Aβ42 mutation in serine8/26, lysine28 abolished Aβ self-aggregation. Furthermore, Aβ inhibited the activity of formaldehyde dehydrogenase (FDH), the enzyme for FA degradation, resulting in FA accumulation. In turn, excess of FA stimulated Aβ aggregation both in vitro and in vivo by increasing the formation of Aβ oligomers and fibrils. We found that degradation of FA by formaldehyde scavenger-NaHSO3 or coenzyme Q10 reduced Aβ aggregation and ameliorated the neurotoxicity, and improved the cognitive performance in APP/PS1 mice. Our study provides evidence that endogenous FA is essential for Aβ self-aggregation and scavenging FA could be an effective strategy for treating AD.

Abstract
Introduction: The ambiguity of the drug target is one of the major factors restricting the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCMs) and its bioactive constituents. The characteristics of "multiple components, multiple targets and multiple pathways" of TCMs make the research of drug targets extremely difficult. With the emergence of new theories, there are increasing technologies and strategies that can be used for the drug targets research of TCMs. In this paper, we summarize several techniques and methods applied to the study of TCM targets. Methods: Through consulting a large number of literature, research and summary, and finally summarized the application direction of the technical method, advantages and limitations. Results: The methods and techniques including computer aided drug design, network pharmacology, phage display, affinity fishing, drug affinity responsive target stability and cellular thermal shift assay were summarized, and their application directions, advantages and disadvantages were discussed. At the same time, a large number of application examples were given to provide reference for the research of TCM targets.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim., a traditional Chinese herbal medicine, has been reported to possess therapeutic effects on diseases induced by oxidative stress (DOS), such as atherosclerosis and diabetes complication. However, the active components and their related mechanisms are still not systematically reported. OBJECTIVE The current study was aimed to explore the main active ingredients and their molecular mechanisms of Z. bungeanum for treating DOS using network pharmacology combined with molecular docking simulation. METHODS The active components of Z. bungeanum pericarps, in addition to the interacting targets, were identified from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology (TCMSP) database. These components were filtered using the parameters of oral bioavailability and drug-likeness, and the targets related to DOS were obtained from the Genecards and OMIM database. Furthermore, the overlapping genes were obtained, and a protein-protein interaction was visualized using the STRING database. Next, the Cytoscape software was employed to build a disease/drug/component/target network, Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis were performed using R software. Finally, the potential active compounds and their related targets were validated using molecular docking technology. RESULTS A total of 61 active compounds, 280 intersection genes, and 105 signaling pathways were obtained. Functional enrichment analysis suggested that DOS occurs possibly through the regulation of many biological pathways, such as AGE-RAGE and HIF-1 signaling pathways. Thirty of the identical target genes showed obvious compact relationships with others in the STRING analysis. Three active compounds, quercetin, diosmetin, and beta-sitosterol, interacting with the four key targets, exhibited strong affinities. CONCLUSION The findings of this study not only indicate the main mechanisms involving in oxidative stress-induced diseases but also provide the basis for further research on the active components of Z. bungeanum for treating DOS.

[Construction of a cDNA library for Sparganum mansoni and screening of diagnostic antigen cadidates]. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To construct a cDNA library of Sparganum mansoni and immunoscreen antigen candidates for immunodiagnosis of sparganosis mansoni. METHODS Total RNA was extracted from S. mansoni, and reversely transcribed into cDNA, which was ligated into the phage vector. These recombinant vectors were packaged in vitro to construct the SMART cDNA library of S. mansoni. Then, the cDNA library was immunoscreened with sera from patients with sparganosis mansoni to yield positive clones. The inserted fragments of positive clones were sequenced and subjected to homology analyses, and the structure and functions of the coding proteins were predicted. RESULTS The SMATR cDNA library of S. mansoni was successfully constructed. The titer of the cDNA library was 6.25 × 106 pfu/mL, with a recombinant efficiency of 100%, and the mean length of the inserted fragments in the library was larger than 1 100 bp. A total of 12 positive clones were obtained by immunoscreening, and were categorized into Sm-I (Sm60-1), Sm-II (Sm58-1), Sm-III (Sm20-1) and Sm-IV (Sm22-3), with 1 134, 1 063, 883 bp and 969 bp long inserted fragments. Their coding proteins were highly homologous with the Spirometra erinaceieuropaei antigenic polypeptide, cytoplasmic antigen, ribosomal protein S4-like protein and unnamed protein product, respectively. CONCLUSIONS A SMART cDNA library of S. mansoni has been successfully constructed and 4 categories of positive clones have been identified, which provides a basis for further studies on diagnostic antigens for sparganosis mansoni.

Abstract
We screened key miRNAs in an intermittent hypoxia rat model and explored the biological roles of downstream target genes and related regulatory pathways. We analyzed the expression profile of miRNAs in the lung tissues of rats in the 5 % (IH1), 7.5 % (IH2), 10 % (IH3), 12.5 % (IH4) oxygen concentration and negative control (NC) groups and identified common miRNAs. Multiple differentially expressed miRNAs were detected, and intersection of their expression profiles yielded 10 common miRNAs with 929 target genes mainly distributed in the nucleus. Molecular functions pertained mainly to the activation of transcription factors, while biological processes focused on cell interaction and signal transduction. Among signaling pathways, the top 5 included the LKB1 signaling, nectin adhesion, and S1P pathways. 8 of 10 common miRNAs had excellent diagnostic value for detecting intermittent hypoxia. The miRNAs binds to the target gene might play a key role in the pathophysiological process of OSA through the LKB1/AMPK and S1P/Akt/eNOS signaling pathways.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the practical value of nursing risk management in intravenous drug allocation. METHODS A total of 1200 patients who received infusion therapy in our hospital were prospectively selected and divided into an observation group (n=600) and a control group (n=600) using a random number table method. The former was given nursing risk management, while the control group was not. The incidence rate of intravenous infusion errors, the incidence rate of infusion reactions, the scores of near-miss items in pharmacy intravenous admixture services and subjective satisfaction were observed and compared between the two groups. RESULTS The incidence of intravenous infusion errors and infusion reactions in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), while the scores of near-miss items in pharmacy intravenous admixture services and subjective satisfaction were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION Nursing risk management can reduce the incidence of errors in clinical pharmacy intravenous admixture services and the incidence rate of infusion reactions, improve infusion safety, and promote the improvement of the subjective satisfaction of patients.

Abstract
Mg2MnO4 nanoparticles with cubic spinel structure were synthesized by the sol-gel method using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as a chelating agent. X-ray powder diffraction, infrared spectrum (IR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and transmission electron microscope (TEM) were used to characterize the crystalline phase and particle size of as-synthesized nanoparticles. The electronic structure of Mg2MnO4 spinel was studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results showed that pure cubic Mg2MnO4 spinel nanoparticles were obtained when the annealing temperature was 500-700 °C. The samples had a porous-spongy structure assembled by nanoparticles. XPS studies indicated that Mg2MnO4 nanoparticles were mixed spinel structures and the degree of cation inversion decreased with increasing annealing temperature. Furthermore, the performance of Mg2MnO4 as lithium anode material was studied. The results showed that Mg2MnO4 samples had good cycle stability except for the slight decay in the capacity at 50 cycles. The coulombic efficiency (ratio of discharge and charge capacity) in most cycles was near 100%. The sample annealed at 600 °C exhibited good electrochemical properties, the first discharge capacity was 771.5 mAh/g, and the capacity remained 340 mAh/g after 100 cycles. The effect of calcination temperature on the charge-discharge performance of the samples was studied and discussed.

Abstract
The objective of this study was to investigate the mechanism of Toll-like receptor (TLR4)- mediated dendritic cell (DC) immune against Cryptosporidium parvum infection. C. parvum sporozoites were labeled with 5,6-carboxyfluorescein diacetate succinimidyl ester. Murine bone marrow-derived DCs were isolated, and divided into TLR4 antibody blocking (TAB; infected with 2 × 105 labeled sporozoites and 0.5 μg TLR4 blocking antibody), TLR4 antibody unblocking (TAU; infected with 2 × 105 labeled sporozoites), and blank control (BC; with 1.5 mL Roswell Park Memorial Institute 1640 medium) groups. The adhesion of Cryptosporidium sporozoites to DCs and CD11c+ levels were examined by fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. Male KM mice were orally injected with C. parvum. The proliferation of T lymphocytes in spleen, expression of cytokines in peripheral blood, and TLR4 distribution features in different organs were further determined by immunohistochemistry. A significantly higher expression of CD11c+ and higher C. parvum sporozoite adhesion were found in the TAU group compared with other groups. The expression of CD4+CD8- /CD8+CD4- in the spleen were obviously differences between the TAB and TAU groups. The expression of TLR4, interleukin IL-4, IL-12, IL-18 and IFN-γ improved in the TAU group compared with TAB group. Higher expression of TLR4 was detected in the lymph nodes of mice in the TAU group, with pathological changes in the small intestine. Hence, TLR4 could mediate DCs to recognize C. parvum, inducing Th1 immune reaction to control C. parvum infection.

Abstract
Background and objective Colon cancer is occurring at an increasing rate and ginger (Zingiber officinale), as a commonly used herbal medicine, has been suggested as a potential agent for colon cancer. This study was aimed to identify the bioactive components and potential mechanisms of ginger for colon cancer prevention by an integrated network pharmacology approach. Methods The putative ingredients of ginger and its related targets were discerned from the TCMSP and Swiss target prediction database. After that, the targets interacting with colon cancer were collected using Genecards, OMIM, and Drugbank databases. KEGG pathway and GO enrichment analysis were performed to explore the signaling pathways related to ginger for colon cancer treatments. The PPI and compound-target-disease networks were constructed using Cytoscape 3.8.1. Finally, Discovery studio software was employed to confirm the key genes and active components from ginger. Results Six potential active compounds, 285 interacting targets in addition to 1356 disease-related targets were collected, of which 118 intersection targets were obtained. A total of 34 key targets including PIK3CA, SRC, and TP53 were identified through PPI network analysis. These targets were mainly focused on the biological processes of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase signaling, cellular response to oxidative stress, and cellular response to peptide hormone stimulus. The KEGG enrichment manifested that three signaling pathways were closely related to colon cancer prevention of ginger, cancer, endocrine resistance, and hepatitis B pathways. TP53, HSP90AA1, and JAK2 were viewed as the most important genes, which were validated by molecular docking simulation. Conclusion This study demonstrated that ginger produced preventive effects against colon cancer by regulating multi-targets and multi-pathways with multi-components. And, the combined data provide novel insight for ginger compounds developed as new drug for anti-colon cancer.

Abstract
CONTEXT Cinnamomi ramulus, the dry twig of Cinnamomum cassia Presl. (Lauraceae), has been reported to exert several activities such as antitumor, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic effects. OBJECTIVE This study investigates the effects of an aqueous extract of Cinnamomi ramulus (ACR) on rheumatoid arthritis (RA). MATERIALS AND METHODS TNF-α-induced RA-derived fibroblast-like synoviocyte MH7A cells were incubated with ACR (0.1-2 mg/mL) for 24 h. The proliferation was tested using CCK-8 and colony formation assays. The migration and invasion abilities were measured using transwell tests and wound healing assays. Apoptosis and cell cycle were examined by flow cytometry. The potential mechanisms were determined by western blotting and quantitative real-time PCR. UPLC-QE-MS/MS was used for chromatographic analysis of ACR and its compounds were identified. Molecular docking strategy was used to screen the potential anti-RA active compounds of ACR. RESULTS We found that ACR induced apoptosis in MH7A cells at concentrations of 0.4, 0.8, and 1.2 mg/mL. The proliferation of MH7A cells was reduced and the cell cycle was blocked in the G2/M phase at concentrations of 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 mg/mL. Migration and invasion of MH7A cells were reduced through inhibiting the expression of MMP-1, MMP-2, and MMP-3. The molecular docking strategy results showed that 9 compounds in ACR have good affinity with protein crystal, and benzyl cinnamate (10-100 µg/mL) could inhibit cell migration and induce apoptosis. CONCLUSIONS The anti-RA effect of ACR may be attributed to its anti-proliferative and anti-migration effects on synovial fibroblasts. These data suggest that Cinnamomi ramulus may have therapeutic value for the treatment of RA.

Abstract
Different miRNAs are involved in the life cycles of Schistosoma japonicum. The aim of this study was to examine the expression profile of miRNAs in individual S. japonicum of different sex before and after pairing (18 and 24 dpi). The majority of differential expressed miRNAs were highly abundant at 14 dpi, except for sja-miR-125b and sja-miR-3505, in both male and female. Moreover, it was estimated that sja-miR-125b and sja-miR-3505 might be related to laying eggs. sja-miR-2a-5p and sja-miR-3484-5p were expressed at 14 dpi in males and were significantly clustered in DNA topoisomerase III, Rap guanine nucleotide exchange factor 1 and L-serine/L-threonine ammonia-lyase. Target genes of sja-miR-2d-5p, sja-miR-31- 5p and sja-miR-125a, which were expressed at 14 dpi in males but particularly females, were clustered in kelch-like protein 12, fructose-bisphosphate aldolase, class I, and heat shock protein 90 kDa beta. Predicted target genes of sja-miR-3483-3p (expressed at 28 dpi in females but not in males) were clustered in 26S proteasome regulatory subunit N1, ATPdependent RNA helicase DDX17. Predicted target genes of sja-miR-219-5p, which were differentially expressed at 28 dpi in females but particularly males, were clustered in DNA excision repair protein ERCC-6, protein phosphatase 1D, and ATPase family AAA domaincontaining protein 3A/B. Moreover, at 28 dpi, eight miRNAs were significantly up-regulated in females compared to males. The predicted target genes of these miRNAs were significantly clustered in heat shock protein 90 kDa beta, 26S proteasome regulatory subunit N1, and protein arginine N-methyltransferase 1. To sum up, differentially expressed miRNAs may have an essential role and provide necessary information on clarifying this trematode's growth, development, maturation, and infection ability to mammalian hosts in its complex life cycle, and may be helpful for developing new drug targets and vaccine candidates for schistosomiasis.

[Prevalence and risk factors of Blastocystis infections among primary school students in Jiangjin District, Chongqing City]. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the prevalence and risk factors of Blastocystis infections among primary school students in Jiangjin District, Chongqing City. METHODS A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was conducted among students sampled from a primary school in Jiangjin District, Chongqing City on April, 2018, and their stool samples were collected for microscopic examinations, in vitro culture and PCR assays to analyze the prevalence of Blastocystis infections and subtype of the parasite. In addition, the risk factors of Blastocystis infections among primary school students were identified using univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis. RESULTS A total of 466 primary students were surveyed, and the subjects had a mean age of (9.81±1.66) years and included 236 males (50.64%) and 230 females (49.36%). The prevalence of Blastocystis infections was 15.24% (71/466) among the study students, and there was no significance difference in the prevalence between male and fe- male students (16.52% vs. 13.91%; χ2 = 0.616, P = 0.433). In addition, there was a significant difference in the prevalence of Blastocystis infections among grade 1 (6.35%, 4/63), grade 2 (5.17%, 3/58), grade 3 (21.74%, 15/69), grade 4 (25.30%, 21/83), grade 5 (10.19%, 11/108) and grade 6 students (20.00%, 17/85) (χ2 = 15.410, P = 0.009). There were four Blastocystis subtypes characterized (ST1, ST3, ST6 and ST7), in which ST6 was the most common subtype (45.07%, 32/71), followed by ST3 (25.35%, 18/71). Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that minority ethnicity [odds ratio (OR) = 4.259, 95% confidential inter- val (CI) : (1.161, 15.621)] and low maternal education level (primary school and below) [OR = 9.038, 95% CI: (1.125, 72.642)] were identified as risk factors of Blastocystis infection among primary school students in Jiangjin District, Chongqing City. CONCLUSIONS There is a high prevalence of Blastocystis infections detected among primary school students in Jiangjin District, Chongqing City, and ST6 and ST3 are predominant subtypes. Minority ethnicity and low maternal education level (primary school and below) are risk factors for Blastocystis infections in primary school students.

Abstract
The spatial and temporal distribution of aquaporin-4 (AQP4) expression in rat brain following brain trauma and AQP4-siRNA treatment, as well as corresponding pathological changes, were studied to explore the mechanism underlying the effect of AQP4-siRNA treatment on traumatic brain injury (TBI). The rats in the sham operation group had normal structure, with AQP4 located in the perivascular end-foot membranes and astrocytic membranes in a polarized pattern. The accelerated polarity reversal was observed in the TBI group in 1-12 h after TBI. During this period, AQP4 abundance on the astrocytic membrane is gradually increased, while AQP4 abundance on the perivascular end-foot membrane declined rapidly. Twelve hours after TBI, AQP4 expression was depolarized, showing a shift from the perivascular end-foot membrane to the astrocytic membrane. Pathological observation showed that vasogenic edema occurred immediately after TBI, at which time the extracellular space was expanded, leading to severe intracellular edema. AQP4-siRNA reduced the polarity reversal index at the early stage of TBI recovery and reduced edema, demonstrating the potential benefit of reduced AQP4 expression during recovery from TBI.

Abstract
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE Euonymus alatus (Thunb.) Siebold (E. alatus), a well-known medicinal plant, has been widely used thousands of years in China for the treatment of various diseases such as urticaria, dysmenorrhea, wound, dysentery, blood stasis, rheumatism and arthritis. Due to the extensive application of E. alatus in the fields of ethnopharmacological usage, the pharmaceutical researches of E. alatus keeps deepening. AIM OF THE STUDY This paper reviewed and summarized the integrated research progress of this medicinal plant. A comprehensive summary and comparison of traditional usages, botany, phytochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, separation and analysis technologies of the E. alatus highlight recent scientific advances, which provides new insights into the research and development of this medicinal plant and would be helpful to promote the research situation of underlying pharmacological mechanisms and further utilizations of E. alatus. MATERIAL AND METHODS Literature survey was carried out via classic books of herbal medicine, PhD. and MSc. Dissertations. Online scientific databases including Pubmed, SciFinder, Science Direct, Scopus, the Web of Science, Google Scholar, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and others were searched up to February 2020 to identify eligible studies. All literatures of the research subject are analyzed and summarized in this review. RESULTS The E. alatus has been widely used in traditional practice in China, Korea and other Asian Countries. In the study of phytochemistry, more than 230 chemical constituents have been isolated and identified from E. alatus, including sesquiterpenoids, diterpenoids, triterpenoids, flavonoids, phenylpropanoids, lignans, steroids, alkaloids and other compounds. Among them, literature reports show that flavonoids and steroids are the most important bioactive substances found in this plant. A number of researches also have shown that extracts and compounds from E. alatus exert a wide spectrum of pharmacological effects, including antidiabetic effect, anti-tumor effects, anti-inflammatory effects, hepatoprotective effects, antioxidant effects, antibacterial effects, as well as other effects. However, most of the studies without clinical research. Research into plant's toxicological effects has also been limited. In addition, this review also summarizes and compares the separation and analysis technologies of E. alatus. CONCLUSIONS E. alatus has potential for the treatment of many diseases, especially tumors and diabetes. But many traditional uses of E. alatus have not been validated by current investigations. Additionally, modern studies haven't gone far enough into its pharmacological effects and the corresponding chemical constituents, more efforts should be made to illuminate the underlying mechanisms of E. alatus for treatment of tumors and diabetes. Moreover, the toxicological effects of this plant can be further studied. Currently, there are limited studies on its side effects and toxicological effects, which should provide further guidance for the safety of clinical use.

Abstract
Blastocystis is a unicellular, anaerobic, intestinal protozoan that infects humans and a variety of animals, which is widely prevalent across the world. Blastocystis infections have been detected in healthy populations, children, students, outpatients and inpatients, as well as diarrhea patients in China. High prevalence of Blastocystis infections has been reported in immunocompromised patients, and relatively high prevalence was seen in individuals living in Guangxi and Yunnan regions. Based on the small subunit ribosomal RNA (SSU rRNA) gene sequence, a total of 17 subtypes (ST1 to ST17) of Blastocystis have been characterized until now, among which ST1 to ST9 and ST12 infect humans and animals, and ST10 to ST17 only infect animals. In China, ST1 to ST3 are predominant human Blastocystis subtypes, and ST1/ST3, ST1/ST2 and ST2/ST3 mixed infections have been also identified. This review mainly describes the epidemiology and genotypes of Blastocystis in humans and animals in China.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To establish a rapid nucleic acid detection technique for identification of Echinococcus multilocularis based on the recombinase aided isothermal amplification assay (RAA) and assess its diagnostic efficiency. METHODS The mitochondrial gene sequence of E. multilocularis (GenBank accession number: AB018440) was used as a target sequence. The primers were designed according to the RAA reaction principle and synthesized, and RAA was performed using the generated primers. E. multilocularis genomic DNA at various concentrations and the pMD19-T (Simple) vector containing various copies of the target gene fragment were amplified using RAA to evaluate its sensitivity for detection of E. multilocularis, and RAA was em- ployed to detect the genomic DNA of E. granulosus G1 genotype, Taenia saginata, T. asiatica, T. multiceps, Dipylidium caninum, Toxocara canis, Trichuris trichiura, Giardia lamblia, Fasciola hepatica, Paragonimus westermani, Fasciola gigantica and Clonorchis sinensis to evaluate its specificity. In addition, the optimized RAA was employed to detect nine tissue specimens of E. granulosus-infected animals, 3 fecal samples from E. granulosus-infected dogs and 2 fecal samples from field infected dogs to examine its reliability and feasibility. RESULTS The established RAA was able to detect the specific target gene fragment of E. multilocularis within 40 min. The lowest detect limit of RAA was 10 pg if E. multilocularis genomic DNA served as a template. If the re- combinant plasmid was used as a template, the minimally detectable copy number of RAA was 104. In addition, RAA was nega- tive for the genomic DNA of E. granulosus G1 genotype, T. saginata, T. asiatica, T. multiceps, D. caninum, T. canis, T. trichiura, G. lamblia, F. hepatica, P. westermani, F. gigantica and C. sinensis. The established RAA was positive for detection of the tissue specimens of infected animals, and simulated and field dog stool samples. CONCLUSIONS A rapid, sensitive and specific RAA is established, which shows promising values in identification of E. multilocularis and gene diagnosis of alveolar echinococcosis.

Abstract
Since December 2019, multiple cases of 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have been reported in Wuhan in China's Hubei Province, a disease which has subsequently spread rapidly across the entire country. Highly infectious, COVID-19 has numerous transmission channels and humans are highly susceptible to infection. The main clinical symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, fatigue, and a dry cough. Laboratory examination in the early stage of the disease shows a normal or decreased white blood cell count, and a decreased lymphocyte count. While CT examination serves as the screening and diagnostic basis for COVID-19, its accuracy is limited. The nucleic acid testing is the gold standard for the diagnosis of COVID-19, but has a low sensitivity is low. There is clearly a divide between the two means of examination. This paper reviews the published literature, guidelines and consensus, and summarizes the clinical and imaging characteristics of COVID-19, in order to provide a reliable basis for early diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract
In our previous studies, using a B cell vaccine (scFv-Her2), the targeting of tumor-associated antigen Her2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor-2) to B cells via the anti-CD19 single chain variable fragment (scFv) was shown to augment tumor-specific immunity, which enhanced tumor control in the prophylactic and therapeutic setting. However, the fusion protein displayed limited activity against established tumors, and local relapses often occurred following scFv-Her2 treatment, indicating that scFv-Her2-induced responses are inadequate to maintain anti-tumor immunity. In this study, targeting the IV region (D4) of the extracellular region of Her2 to B cells via CD19 molecules (scFv-Her2D4) was found to enhance IFN-γ-producing-CD8+ T cell infiltration in tumor tissues and reduced the number of tumor-infiltrating myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs). However, negative co-stimulatory molecules such as programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1), CD160, and LAG-3 on T cells and programmed death protein ligand-1 (PD-L1) on tumor cells were upregulated in the tumor microenvironment after scFv-Her2D4 treatment. Further, anti-PD1 administration enhanced the efficacy of scFv-Her2D4 and anti-tumor immunity, as evidenced by the reversal of tumor-infiltrating CD8+ T cell exhaustion and the reduction of MDSCs and Treg cells, which suppress T cells and alter the tumor immune microenvironment. Moreover, combining this with anti-PD1 antibodies promoted complete tumor rejection. Our data provide evidence of a close interaction among tumor vaccines, T cells, and the PD-L1/PD-1 axis and establish a basis for the rational design of combination therapy with immune modulators and tumor vaccine therapy.

Abstract
The roots of Chuanmingshen violaceum is a commonly used Chinese herb and food, which contains rich amino acids. However, the kinds and amounts of amino acids are variety in this herb among the geographical location and ecological environment. Therefore, this study firstly developed a new pre-column derived HPLC method to quantify the levels of 18 amino acids in Ch. violaceum roots. Then 24 Ch. violaceum samples were harvested from its main cultivating areas in Sichuan, China. These samples were divided into 4 producing areas based on their geographical sites. The 18 kinds of amino acids were quantified in these sample by the developed method. The differences of these amino acids were further analyzed among these herbal samples and the 4 producing areas by t-test and principal component analysis(PCA). The result indicated the peaks of the 18 kinds of amino acids were separated well in 70 min.The correlation coefficients between peak areas and concentration of these amino acids were more than 0.999 1(n=6). All of their recoveries were in the range of 97.38%-101.3%(n=6).Their detection limit was in the range of 0.003-0.379 μg·mL~(-1).It demonstrates that the developed HPLC method can accurately quantify the amounts of multi-amino acids in this herb. The results of t-test analysis showed the contents of histidine, cystine, leucine, valine, tryptophan, phenylalanine and threonine were significantly different(P<0.05) among the 4 producing areas. But the differences of other amino acids were not significant.The first five factors were extracted by PCA to calculate the comprehensive score. The order of comprehensive score for the 4 producing areas was B(0.603, n=10), C(0.206, n=3), A(-0.283, n=7) and D(-1.167, n=4). The total content of amino acids in Ch. violaceum collected in B producing area was largest(12.5 mg·g~(-1)). It is concluded the Ch. violaceum contains multi-kinds of amino acids. On the basis of amino acid amount, Langzhong city and Cangxi county in Sichuan province(producing area B) is the suitable areas for cultivating Ch. violaceum.

Abstract
A 24-year-old man born in Guizhou province was diagnosed with obstructive jaundice and bile duct stones in 2013. Four living trematodes were found during laparotomy and cholecystectomy. Based on the morphology and molecular genetics analysis of internal transcribed spacer and pcox1 genes of the flatworm specimens, the trematodes from the patient were confirmed to be Fasciola hepatica. This report provided the clinical and molecular diagnosis information on human fascioliasis, which is an emerging sanitary problem still ignored in China. Human fascioliasis constantly occurs due to climatic changes and frequency of human travel. Therefore, it deserves more attention from physicians working in both developing and developed countries.

Abstract
Background Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) supplementation can improve cognition in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and AD transgenic model mice. To ameliorate the discomfort that patients with AD suffer after several blood extractions, a non‐invasive method for detecting urine CoQ10 levels needs to be established. Methods Here, we developed a new technique of fluorescence spectrophotometry with ethyl cyanoacetate (FS‐ECA), on the basis of the principle that the chemical derivative obtained from the interaction between CoQ10 and ECA was detected by a fluorescence detector at λex/em = 450/515 nm. As a standard reference method, the same batches of the clinical samples were analyzed by high‐performance liquid chromatography with an ultraviolet detector (HPLC‐UV) at 275 nm. Results The limits of detection (LOD) and limits of quantization (LOQ) (serum: 0.021 and 0.043 mg/L; urine: 0.012 and 0.025 mg/L) determined by the FS‐ECA method were similar to that obtained through HPLC‐UV (serum: 0.017 and 0.035 mg/L; urine: 0.012 and 0.025 mg/L). More importantly, this new FS‐ECA technique as well as the conventional HPLC‐UV method could detect a marked difference in urine CoQ10 levels between AD and controls. Conclusion Our findings suggest that this non‐invasive method for quantifying urine CoQ10 potentially replaces HPLC to detect blood CoQ10.
