Abstract
The ability to unlock the interplay between the activity and stability of oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) represents an important endeavor toward creating robust ORR catalysts for efficient fuel cells. Herein, we report an effective strategy to concurrent enhance the activity and stability of ORR catalysts via constructing atomically dispersed Fe-Mn dual-metal sites on N-doped carbon (denoted (FeMn-DA)-N-C) for both anion-exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFC) and proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC). The (FeMn-DA)-N-C catalysts possess ample dual-metal atoms consisting of adjacent Fe-N4 and Mn-N4 sites on the carbon surface, yielded via a facile doping-adsorption-pyrolysis route. The introduction of Mn carries several advantageous attributes: increasing the number of active sites, effectively anchoring Fe due to effective electron transfer to Mn (revealed by X-ray absorption spectroscopy and density-functional theory (DFT), thus preventing the aggregation of Fe), and effectively circumventing the occurrence of Fenton reaction, thus reducing the consumption of Fe. The (FeMn-DA)-N-C catalysts showcase half-wave potentials of 0.92 and 0.82 V in 0.1 M KOH and 0.1 M HClO4, respectively, as well as outstanding stability. As manifested by DFT calculations, the introduction of Mn affects the electronic structure of Fe, down-shifts the d-band Fe active center, accelerates the desorption of OH groups, and creates higher limiting potentials. The AEMFC and PEMFC with (FeMn-DA)-N-C as the cathode catalyst display high power densities of 1060 and 746 mW cm-2, respectively, underscoring their promising potential for practical applications. Our study highlights the robustness of designing Fe-containing dual-atom ORR catalysts to promote both activity and stability for energy conversion and storage materials and devices.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aims to investigate the effectiveness and safety of surgical treatment for post-TB lung disease (PTLD) and to analyse its risk factors. METHODS Data were collected from 268 patients who underwent pulmonary resection for TB in Xi'an Chest Hospital, Xi'an, Shaanxi, China, between January 2014 and December 2023. The efficacy and safety of the three groups were compared, and the TB group was used as the control group to analyse the risk factors of PTLD. RESULTS The results indicated the three groups in intraoperative blood loss, post-operative drainage volume, post-operative complications, and post-operative hospital stay also varied significantly among the three groups (all P < 0.01). Additionally, factors such as pre-operative anti-TB therapy duration (OR = 1.02, P = 0.007), age (OR = 1.03, P = 0.030), and comorbid diabetes mellitus (OR = 3.00, P = 0.046) were identified as significant contributors to PTLD. While pre-operative haemoptysis demonstrates a statistically significant correlation with both precursor PTLDs, this association likely reflects the clinical expression of the underlying disease process. CONCLUSION The study confirms that surgery for PTLD is safe and efficacious. Patients with advanced age, an extended duration of pre-operative anti-TB therapy, comorbid diabetes mellitus and pre-operative haemoptysis should maintain vigilance regarding the potential development of PTLD.

Abstract
Chronic hepatitis D is a kind of severe viral hepatitis caused by co-infection with hepatitis D virus (HDV) and hepatitis B virus (HBV) or infection with HDV on the ground of HBV infection. Patients with hepatitis D who are infected with HBV often have faster disease progression and a worse prognosis. However, the public and clinicians have always paid little attention to chronic hepatitis D. Coupled with the limitations of detection methods and the absence of a screening system, the HDV screening rate in various regions of the world is at a low level. Consequently, the enthusiasm for screening, diagnosis, and treatment has been further reduced by the inadequate effectiveness of previous treatment methods. In recent years, progress has been made in the research and development of anti-HDV drugs, and a variety of drugs have already entered the clinical trial stage, and some have already been approved for commercialization in specific parts of the world. In this context, the world is also actively exploring effective ways to increase the HDV screening rate. The reflex test model can effectively raise the HDV screening rate and serve as a reference for HDV screening in other countries and regions, as demonstrated by studies conducted in the United Kingdom, France, and Spain, among others. This article will review the detection methods, screening, diagnosis, and treatment current status, as well as the progress in drug research and development, in order to help clinical physicians understand chronic HDV diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate auditory spatial discrimination capabilities in patients with mild to moderately severe symmetrical sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) and to compare the impact of different psychophysical testing methods on Minimum Audible Angle (MAA) and test duration. Methods: A total of 105 symmetrical SNHL patients aged from 18 to 60 years old were enrolled from April to July 2023, including 56 males and 49 females. They were divided into three groups based on PTA: mild, moderate, and moderately severe hearing loss, with 35 individuals in each group. Additionally, a control group of 35 individuals with normal hearing was tested, including 18 males and 17 females. Participants underwent four distinct psychophysical discrimination tests: the block up-down, 1-up/1-down, 1-up/2-down, and 1-up/3-down procedures. We recorded the MAA and test duration for each. We employed repeated measures of ANOVA to compare the MAA and test duration across different methods and groups, and Pearson's correlation to assess the relationship between MAA and degree of hearing loss. Results: MAA of sound localization in patients with symmetrical SNHL was significantly positively correlated with the degree of hearing loss (r=0.59, P<0.01). Significant deterioration in MAA was observed as hearing loss progressed to the moderate level (PTA≥35 dBHL, P<0.01). The testing methods significantly influenced MAA and testing duration (F=24.02, P<0.01; F=75.56, P<0.01) and the 1-up/1-down method was the quickest, averaging only (0.69±0.32) mins. Conclusions: The horizontal plane auditory spatial discrimination abilities in patients with symmetrical SNHL is impaired progressively with increasing hearing loss, notably beyond moderate hearing loss levels. Different psychophysical methods influence both MAA and test duration, the quicker 1-up/1-down method is recommended for assessing MAA in symmetrical SNHL patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Essential tremor (ET), a prevalent movement disorder, has an elusive pathogenesis. A reduction in ceruloplasmin (Cp) levels can be found in some patients with ET. In addition, some studies have suggested an association between ET and neurodegeneration. As a ferroxidase, Cp is critical for iron metabolism, protecting against oxidative stress and neurodegeneration. Iron metabolism dysregulation, linked to ferroptosis, has implications in neurodegenerative diseases. Yet, research on Cp and ET remains limited. OBJECTIVES This study aims to elucidate the relationship between ET and serum Cp levels. METHODS We collected demographic and clinical data from 62 patients with ET satisfying the diagnostic criteria and compared these to data from 100 healthy controls. RESULTS The median Cp levels in ET patients were 21.5 (18.8, 23.9) mg/dL, significantly lower than those in controls (23.1 [(20.7, 25.7) mg/dL; P = 0.006]). A reduction in Cp levels emerged as a risk factor for ET incidence (odds ratio (OR) = 0.873, 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.795, 0.959; P = 0.005). The area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve for serum Cp levels to predict the onset of ET was 0.629 (95% CI, 0.537-0.720; P = 0.006), and the optimal cut-off value for Cp levels was 19.5 mg/dL with a sensitivity of 91% and a specificity of 33.9%. CONCLUSION Our analysis suggests that reduced Cp levels are associated with ET. We speculate that reduced Cp levels may be involved in the pathogenesis of ET, which requires further studies.

Abstract
The multifunctional active smart biomass film was prepared by incorporating chitosan-adsorbed laurate esterified starch curcumin Pickering emulsion into the starch film matrix, with nano-cellulose serving as reinforcing agents. The mechanical and functional properties of the film were studied, and the film was used to monitor the freshness of pork. The results demonstrated a relatively uniform distribution of curcumin and Pickering emulsion droplets within the film matrix. Furthermore, the thermal stability was minimally impacted by the introduction of curcumin Pickering emulsion, while the tensile strength and tensile strain of the film were increased, and both its hydrophobicity and antioxidant properties were improved. The free radical scavenging rate reached 56.01 %, with sustained high antioxidant capacity even after 8 days. Additionally, the presence of curcumin provided the film with pH indicating ability and delayed pork spoilage. Therefore, this work provides an attractive strategy for constructing green, active, and smart biomass packaging films for meat packaging applications.

Abstract
The objective of our study was to assess the attitudes and behaviors in Japan regarding sun exposure and compare them to those in Europe and North America. The study population was a representative sample of individuals aged >18 years from Ipsos panels in Japan (N = 1000), North America (N = 1000), and Europe (N = 6000) using the quota method. Questionnaires covered habits, practices, and perceptions regarding sun exposure. Results revealed that the majority of people (80.1%) believed that the sun gives them energy, and 61.1% considered that being tanned made them look healthier. However, there was a significant difference between men and women regarding the appeal of tanned skin, with 54.95% of men versus 34.67% (p < 0.001) of women seeing a tan as an aesthetic asset. People aged <40 years were less likely to find a tan attractive (30.3%) compared to those aged ≥40 years (48.9%) (p < 0.001). Of those questioned, 45.70% of used sunscreen with a much higher use among women (70.10%) than men (18.74%) (p < 0.001). Almost 54% of people said they stayed in the shade to protect themselves from the sun with this behavior being more prevalent among women (67.05%) and fair-skinned individuals (56.13%). Fear of the risks of sun exposure was more common among women, with 84.8% fearing premature skin aging, compared to 71.8% of men (p < 0.001). In Japan, 44.30% of those questioned said tanned skin was attractive (p < 0.001); for Europeans and North Americans the proportions were 81.1% and 77.6%, respectively. Only a quarter (25.80%) thought it essential to return from vacation with a tan. On the other hand, Europeans showed a strong recognition of the energy the sun brings (83.18%), and widely believed that tanned skin is attractive (82.32%) and healthy (73.15%). In North America, attitudes were similar to those in Europe regarding the attractiveness of tanned skin (77.65%) and the importance of returning tanned from vacation (48.15%). Compared to Europeans and North Americans, the Japanese seemed to be more cautious about sun-induced hazards and considered lighter skin to be more attractive.

Abstract
The development of affordable, highly active, and stable trifunctional electrocatalysts is imperative for sustainable energy applications such as overall water splitting and rechargeable Zn-air battery. Herein, we report a composite electrocatalyst with RuSe2 and CoSe2 hybrid nanoparticles embedded in nitrogen-doped carbon (RuSe2CoSe2/NC) synthesized through a carbonization-adsorption-selenylation strategy. This electrocatalyst is a trifunctional electrocatalyst with excellent hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), oxygen evolution reaction (OER), and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activities. An in-depth study of the effect of Se on the electrocatalytic process was conducted. Notably, the incorporation of Se moderately adjusted electronic structure of Ru and Co, enhancing all three types of catalytic performance (HER, η10 = 31 mV; OER, η10 = 248 mV; ORR, E1/2 = 0.834 V) under alkaline condition with accelerated kinetics and improved stability. Density functional theory (DFT) calculation reveals that the (210) crystal facet of RuSe2 is the dominant HER active site as it exhibited the lowest ΔGH* value. The in situ Raman spectra unravel the evolution process of the local electronic environment of Co-Se and Ru-Se bonds, which synergistically promotes the formation of CoOOH as the active intermediate during the OER. The superior catalytic efficiency and remarkable durability of RuSe2CoSe2/NC as an electrode for water splitting and zinc-air battery devices demonstrate its great potential for energy storage and conversion devices.

Abstract
Atmospheric particulate matter has an association with respiratory system inflammation, and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid (LMW-HA) is a key biomarker of inflammatory cascade reaction. This review summarized the possible pathways and biomarkers of atmospheric particulate matter causing respiratory system inflammation through high molecular weight hyaluronic acid (HMW-HA)/LMW-HA imbalance, including the synthesis and decomposition of HA, the reduction of particulate matter and HMW-HA, the increase of LMW-HA, and the relationship between LMW-HA and respiratory system inflammation. Furthermore, inhibitors and therapeutic drugs targeting certain biomarkers were further listed. This review could shed light on the mechanism of respiratory system inflammation caused by atmospheric particulate matter and the weak points that need attention in subsequent research.

Abstract
Analyses of National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data suggested a significant decrease in sealant prevalence among children between 2011 to 2014 and 2015 to 2018. We explore whether this decrease could be associated with possible changes in 1) clinical sealant delivery, 2) dental materials (i.e., increased use of glass ionomer [GI] sealants resulting in an inability to detect sealant fragments that still provide preventive benefits or increased use of composite restorations leading to misclassifying sealants as restorations), and 3) examination sensitivity and specificity. We used NHANES data to estimate the prevalences of sealants, untreated caries, and restorations in ≥1 first permanent molar among children aged 7 to 10 y and used Medical Expenditure Panel Survey data to estimate the annual clinical delivery of sealants and fluoride treatments. We examined changes in outcomes between 2 periods (P < 0.05) controlling for selected sociodemographic characteristics. NHANES sealant examination quality was based on the reference examiner's replicate examinations. The adjusted prevalence of sealants decreased relatively by 27.5% (46.6% vs. 33.8%). Overall, untreated caries decreased. Untreated caries and restoration decreased among children without sealants. Annual clinical sealant delivery did not change, whereas fluoride treatment delivery increased. The decrease in sealant prevalence held when assessed for various age ranges and NHANES cycle combinations. While sealant examination specificity remained similar between the periods, sensitivity (weighted by the proportion of exams by each examiner) decreased relatively by 17.4% (0.92 vs. 0.76). These findings suggest that decreased sealant prevalence was not supported by decreased clinical sealant delivery nor increased use of composite restorations. Decreased examination sensitivity, which could be due to an increased use of GI sealants, could contribute to the decrease in sealant prevalence. The decrease in caries among children without sealants could suggest the increased use of GI sealants. However, we could not rule out that the decrease in caries could be attributable to increased fluoride treatment delivery.

Abstract
Background According to the latest guidelines on chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP), patients with CIDP with anti-neurofascin 155 (NF155) antibodies are referred to as autoimmune nodopathy (AN), an autoimmune disorder distinct from CIDP. We aimed to compare the clinical data of patients with AN with anti-NF155 antibodies with those of anti-NF155 antibodies-negative patients with CIDP, and to summarize the clinical characteristics of patients with AN with anti-NF155 antibodies. Methods Nine patients with AN with anti-NF155 antibodies and 28 serologically negative patients with CIDP were included in this study. Diagnosis was made according to the diagnostic criteria in the European Academy of Neurology (EAN)/Peripheral Nerve Society (PNS) guidelines on CIDP published in 2021. Demographics, clinical manifestations, electrophysiological examination, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) tests, and response to treatment were retrospectively analyzed. Results Compared with serologically negative patients with CIDP, those patients with AN with anti-NF155 antibodies were younger (p=0.007), had a younger onset age (p=0.009), more frequent ataxia (p=0.019), higher CSF protein levels (p=0.001), and more frequent axon damage in electrophysiology (p=0.025). The main characteristics of patients with AN with anti-NF155 antibodies include younger age and onset age, limb weakness, sensory disturbance, ataxia, multiple motor-sensory peripheral neuropathies with demyelination and axonal damage on electrophysiological examination, markedly elevated CSF protein levels, and varying degrees of response to immunotherapy. Conclusions Patients with AN with anti-NF155 antibodies differed from serologically negative patients with CIDP in terms of clinical characteristics. When AN is suspected, testing for antibodies associated with the nodes of Ranvier is essential for early diagnosis and to guide treatment.

Abstract
PURPOSE Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common liver disease, with a worldwide prevalence of 25%. Although numerous clinical trials have been conducted over the last few decades, an effective treatment has not been approved yet. Extensive research has accumulated a large amount of data and experience; however, the vast number of clinical trials and new therapeutic targets for NAFLD make it impossible to keep abreast of the relevant information. Therefore, a systematic analysis of the existing trials is necessary. METHODS Here, we reviewed clinical trials on NAFLD registered in the mandated federal database, ClinicalTrials.gov, to generate a detailed overview of the trials related to drugs and therapeutic targets for NAFLD treatment. Following screening for pertinence to therapy, a total of 440 entries were identified that included active trials as well as those that have already been completed, suspended, terminated, or withdrawn. RESULTS We summarize and systematically analyze the state, drug development pipeline, and discovery of treatment targets for NAFLD. We consider possible factors that may affect clinical outcomes. Furthermore, we discussed these results to explore the mechanisms responsible for clinical outcomes. CONCLUSION We summarised the landscape of current clinical trials and suggested the directions for future NAFLD therapy to assist internal medicine specialists in treating the whole clinical spectrum of this highly prevalent liver disease.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Species and structural diversity are important for understanding the formation of forest communities, key ecological processes, and improving forest ecological functions and services, but their spatial characteristics have received little attention. Based on the spatial relationships among neighbouring trees, we proposed to divide trees within a structural unit into 15 structural types, and used the univariate distributions of the uniform angle index (W), mingling (M), and dominance (U), along with four common species diversity indices, to analyse the diversity of structural types in natural forests near the Tropic of Cancer. RESULTS Only a portion of clumped class maintained aggregation, most exhibited a random pattern. Species mixture increased exponentially across distribution classes, and abundance and richness exhibited an initial increase followed by a slight decrease. The distribution patterns of mixture classes varied from highly clustered to random, and M distributions gradually shifted from an inverted J-shaped curve to a J-shaped curve. Abundance and richness exhibited an exponential distribution, whereas the Shannon-Wiener index increased linearly. The W distribution of differentiation classes approximated a normal distribution, whereas M distributions exhibited a J shape. The U distribution of each structure type was approximately 0.2. CONCLUSIONS These results reveal the species and structural diversity characteristics of trees at the structural type level and expand our knowledge of forest biodiversity. The new method proposed here should significantly contribute to biodiversity monitoring efforts in terrestrial ecosystems, and suggests that higher standards for the simulation and reconstruction of stand structure, as well as thinning in near-natural forests, is warranted.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the molecular mechanism of circDDX17 regulating the proliferation and apoptosis of non-small cell lung cancer cells by targeting the miR-223-3p/RIP3 molecular axis. Methods: The expression levels of circDDX17, miR-223-3p, and RIP3 in human normal lung epithelial cell lines BEAS-2B and non-small cell lung cancer cells H1299, A549, and H446 were detected by reverse transcription-quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). The plasmids of pcDNA, pcDNA-circDDX17, anti-miR-con, anti-miR-223-3p, pcDNA-circDDX17 and miR-con, pcDNA-circDDX17 and miR-223-3p mimics were transfected into H1299 cells. 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay was used to detect the cell proliferation. Flow cytometry was used to detect the cell cycle and cell apoptosis. Plate cloning experiment was used to detect cell proliferation ability. The dual luciferase report experiment was applied to verify the targeting relationship between miR-223-3p with circDDX17 and RIP3. Western blot was used to detect the protein expression of cyclinD1, CDK2, cleaved caspase-3 and Bax. Results: The expression levels of circDDX17 and RIP3 mRNA in H1299, A549, and H446 cells were significantly reduced (P<0.05), the expression level of miR-223-3p mRNA was significantly increased (P<0.05) compared with BEAS-2B. The cell viability [(69.46±4.68)%], the number of cell clones (83.49±7.86), the proportion of cells in S phase [(22.52±1.41) %], the protein expression levels of cyclinD1 and CDK2 in PCDNa-CircDDX17 group were lower than those in pcDNA group [(97.54±7.72)%, 205.03±13.37, (28.69±1.49)%, respectively, P<0.05], while the percentage of G0/G1 phase cells [(64.45±3.56)%], apoptosis rate [(18.36±1.63)%], the protein expression levels of cleaved caspase-3 and Bax in pcDNA-circDDX17 group were higher than those of pcDNA group [(51.33±2.76) % and (5.21±0.54) %, respectively, P<0.05]. The viability [(72.64±5.44)%], the number of cell clones (78.16±8.23), the proportion of S-stage cells [(21.34±1.59) %], the protein expression levels of CyclinD1 and CDK2 in anti-miR-223-3p group were lower than those in anti-miR-con group [(103.47±6.25)%, 169.32±14.53, (28.43±1.26)%, respectively, P<0.05]. Percentage of G0/G1 phase cells [(62.86±3.28)%], apoptosis rate [(14.64±1.67)%], the protein expression levels of cleaved caspase-3 and Bax in the anti-miR-223-3p group were higher than those of anti-miR-con group [(51.33±2.71)% and (4.83±0.39)%, respectively, P<0.05]. MiR-223-3p has complementary sites with circDDX17 or RIP3. The viability [(135.45±9.28)%], the number of cell clones (174.64±10.68), the proportion of S-phase cells [(26.39±2.25)%], the protein expression levels of cyclinD1 and CDK2 in pcDNA-circDDX17+miR-223-3p group were higher than those in pcDNA-circDDX17+miR-con group [(101.56±6.68)%, 107.65±7.62, (21.64±1.72)%, P<0.05]. Percentage of G0/G1 phase cells [(56.64±2.76)%], apoptosis rate [(8.34±0.76)%], the protein expression levels of cleaved caspase-3 and Bax in pcDNA-circDDX17+miR-223-3p group were lower than those of pcDNA-circDDX17+miR-con group [(64.03±3.48)% and (15.21±1.18)%, respectively, P<0.05]. Abstract
Presently, pseudocirrhosis occurs in most patients with liver metastases from malignant tumors and can exhibit clinical manifestations related to portal hypertension, such as edema, ascites, and gastrointestinal bleeding. Imaging features include malignant tumor liver metastasis, the appearance of nodules accompanied with or without hepatic contour, segmental liver volume reduction, and caudate lobe enlargement. Histology shows the typical pathological manifestations of liver cirrhosis, such as diffuse tumor cell infiltration, fibrosis around the infiltrating lesion, hepatic sinus vascular thrombosis, nodular hyperplasia, non-accompanied bridging necrosis, bridging fibrosis, and pseudolobule formation. The possible pathogenesis of pseudocirrhosis is tumor cell infiltration and toxic reactions of tumor cells and liver cells to chemotherapy. The presence of pseudocirrhosis in patients diagnosed with malignant tumors is one of the challenges affecting their survival cycle and shortening the median survival time. The relationship between its onset, tumor type and metastasis, and the use of chemotherapy drugs is still unclear. The atypical clinical manifestations and imaging characteristics bring about great challenges for clinicians and patients. Thus, based on the existing case reports, observational studies, and meta-analysis results, this article reviews the research progress on the prevalence, etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of pseudocirrhosis.

Abstract
Enhancing the performance of traditional pesticide formulations by improving their leaf surface wetting capabilities is a crucial approach for maximizing the pesticide efficiency. This study develops an emulsifiable concentrate (EC) of 4.5% β-cypermethrin containing Brucea javanica oil (BJO). The incorporation of BJO aims to improve the leaf-wetting properties of the EC formulation and enhance its insecticidal effectiveness. The droplet size and emulsion characteristics of β-CYP EC emulsion with varying concentrations of the emulsifier were evaluated, and changes after incorporating BJO were assessed to develop the optimal formulation. A comprehensive comparison was conducted among commercial 4.5% β-cypermethrin EC (β-CYP EC-1), 4.5% β-cypermethrin EC with BJO (β-CYP EC-2), and 4.5% β-cypermethrin EC without BJO (β-CYP EC-3). This comparison encompassed various factors including storage stability, insecticidal activity, cytotoxicity, and wetting performance on cabbage leaves. The results indicated that the ideal emulsifier concentration was 15% emulsifier 0201B. β-CYP EC-2 demonstrated superior wetting properties on cabbage leaves (the wetting performance of β-CYP EC-2 emulsion on cabbage leaves is 2.60 times that of the β-CYP EC-1 emulsion), heightened insecticidal activity against the third larvae of Plutella xylostella [diamondback moth (DBM)] [the insecticidal activity of the β-CYP EC-2 emulsion against the third larvae of DBM is 1.93 times that of the β-CYP EC-1 emulsion (12 h)], and more obvious inhibitory effects on the proliferation of DBM embryo cells than the other tested formulations. These findings have significant implications for advancing pest control strategies and promoting sustainable and effective agricultural practices.

Abstract
Exploring high active electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is of great significance for a sustainable hydrogen economy. The development of non-precious transition metals, with sufficient active sites and ample intrinsic activity, remains a challenge. Herein, a new type of FeNi-Cr3C2 heterostructure anchored on carbon sheets (FeNi-Cr3C2@C) was reported, which can effectively catalyze OER with swift kinetics and outstanding intrinsic activity. The introduced Cr3C2 phase not only serves as a support material but also effectively suppresses the thermal coarsening of FeNi alloy nanoparticle. The FeNi-Cr3C2@C displays a robust OER activity with a low overpotential of 283 mV at the current density of 10 mA cm-2, a high turnover frequency value of 1.69 s-1 at the overpotential of 300 mV (10 times higher than that of FeNi@C) and good stability in alkaline media. Density functional theory calculations (DFT) calculations show that Cr3C2 can facilitate the generation of electron-rich region at the Ni site in FeNi alloys as an active site, exhibiting an optimized adsorption behavior toward oxygen intermediate species with regard to decreased thermodynamic energy barriers. Our work opens up a promising path to modulate the electrocatalytic active sites using inexpensive and durable Cr3C2 for electrochemical catalytic reactions.

Abstract
A chitosan-based nanoparticle was prepared using chitosan (CS) and O-carboxymethyl chitosan (O-CMCS). Our study revealed that chitosan/O-carboxymethyl chitosan/tebuconazole nanoparticles (CS/O-CMCS/TBA NPs) exhibited superior antifungal activity, foliar adhesion, and microbial target adhesion performance compared to commercial suspension concentrate (SC). The antifungal activity of CS/O-CMCS/TBA NPs against C. gloeosporioides, with a 3.13-fold increase in efficacy over TBA (SC). We also found that low concentrations of CS/O-CMCS NPs promoted the growth of C. gloeosporioides and enhanced the fungal catabolism of chitosan. Overall, the CS/O-CMCS/TBA NPs were found to possess the remarkable capability to selectively aggregate around pathogenic microorganisms and CS/O-CMCS NPs can enhance the fungal catabolism of chitosan. CS/O-CMCS/TBA NPs, as a "sugar-coated bomb", was a promising asset for effective plant disease management and pesticide utilization through the affinity of chitosan-based nanoparticles and C. gloeosporioides, enabling targeted delivery and targeted release of their encapsulated active ingredient, which was important for the development and application of biocompatible chitosan-based nanopesticides.

Abstract
Photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting for hydrogen production technology is considered as one of the most promising solutions to energy shortage and environmental remediation. TiO2/NiS nanorod arrays were successfully prepared using hydrothermal deposition followed by the successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence (PL) spectra characterization studies indicate the successful deposition of NiS on TiO2 NRs. The NiS deposition on TiO2 was optimized by controlling the impregnation cycle. The optimal sample exhibits a photocurrent density of 1.16 mA cm-2 at 0.6 V vs. Ag/AgCl, which is a 1.9-fold enhancement over that of pristine TiO2 nanorod arrays. The enhanced photoelectrochemical performance can be attributed to two aspects. On the one hand, the (101) crystal plane of rutile TiO2 is the facet where photogenerated holes accumulate and is an efficient active plane for the oxygen evolution reaction; on the other hand, NiS is a narrow band gap semiconductor, and its deposition on TiO2 nanorods can further promote the separation and transport of photogenerated charge carriers.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Survival rates for women with metastatic cervical cancer (CC) are low, with limited management options. Radiation therapy (RT) for metastatic disease has led to prolonged survival in other malignancies, however, the data are scarce in CC. Herein, we evaluated the effect of RT for metastatic CC. MATERIALS/METHODS A total of 58 patients with metastatic CC between September 2019 and January 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. All the patients were treated with platinum-based chemotherapy combined with targeted therapy or immunotherapy followed with or without RT (NRT). The recent efficacy, survival status and prognostic factors were analyzed statistically. RESULTS Objective response rate (ORR) was 63.6% with one complete and twenty partial responses in RT group (n = 33) and 40.0% with two complete and eight partial responses in NRT group (n = 25), respectively (p = 0.074). Disease control rate (DCR) of the RT and NRT groups were 79.4% vs 80.0%, respectively (p = 0.861). Median follow-up time was 17 months (3-39months). In RT group, 11(33.3%) patients experienced local regional or distant failure and 9 (27.3%) patients were dead. In NRT group, 15(60%) patients had progression and 8 (32%) patients dead. There was no significant difference between the two groups in overall survival (OS); however, RT group displayed superior progression-free survival (PFS) (1-year OS: 72.7% vs. 68.0%, p = 0.460; 1-year PFS: 66.7% vs. 40.0%, p = 0.039). The multivariate analysis showed that RT, immunotherapy, lymph node metastasis only relevant predictor of superior PFS but not OS. In subgroup analysis, patients treated with RT appeared to have a better PFS in some specific cohorts, such as age>45 years (72.0% vs 36.4% P = 0.015), squamous carcinoma histology (71.0% vs 40.9% P = 0.017), metastatic at diagnosis (75.0% vs 47.6% P = 0.012), non-targeted therapy (72.4% vs 43.8% P = 0.040). No significant increase in treatment-related toxicity was observed in the RT group compared with the NRT group. CONCLUSION RT provided superior PFS in metastatic CC patients compared to NRT, and well tolerated. Moreover, RT, immunotherapy, lymph node metastasis only were independent significant prognostic factors for PFS. Subgroup analysis showed that combination of RT and chemotherapy obtained favorable PFS in metastatic CC patients with age>45 years, squamous carcinoma histology, metastatic at diagnosis, non-targeted therapy. Studies with a larger sample size and longer follow-up are warranted.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Radioimmunotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer has good clinical application prospects. The role and mechanism of RUNX1 in DNA damage repair were explored for its potential role in lung adenocarcinoma radioimmunotherapy. MATERIALS/METHODS To study the effect of RUNX1 expression level on the expression of DNA damage repair system related factors and radiation sensitivity of lung adenocarcinoma cells. As an important nuclear transcription factor, RUNX1 was explored whether directly regulating the expression of Nrf2, Rad51, BRCA1, and verifying their respective DNA binding sites in the promoter region through relevant databases. To observe the effect of RUNX1 knockout and overexpression on the expression level of PD-L1 in tumor cells at the cell level; The effect of RUNX1 expression level on the sorting and presentation of PD-L1 cells was investigated by the method of nucleocytoplasmic separation. According to literature reports, CMTM6 and ALIX play a key role in the process of PD-L1 cell sorting and presentation, and explore whether RUNX1 plays a role through this factor. The effect of phosphorylation level of different splicing bodies of RUNX1 (RUNX1a/b/c) on the expression level and DNA damage repair system related factors on tumor radiosensitivity were also explored. RESULTS According to TCGA database, RUNX1 is highly expressed and phosphorylated in lung adenocarcinoma. Through gene comparison with the database, it was found that RUNX1 binding sites existed in the promoter region of several factors related to this study, including ALIX, Nrf2, BRCA1, RAD51, ATM, H2AX, etc. After being activated by MAPKp38 phosphorylation, RUNX1a can positively regulate Nrf2 signal pathway. The expression of RUNX1 and p-RUNX1 is time-dependent on ionizing radiation. At the same time, it was found that the expression of RUNX1 and p-RUNX1 was dose-dependent on ionizing radiation, and the expression trend of Nrf2 signal pathway related factors was consistent with RUNX1. RUNX1 regulates the expression of PD-L1, BRCA1, ALIX and Nrf2. Bioinformatics analysis and flow cytometry data show that RUNX1 has inhibitory effect on tumor microenvironment of lung adenocarcinoma. CONCLUSION RUNX1 regulates DNA damage repair system and has inhibitory effect on tumor immunity. Inhibiting the expression of RUNX1 in lung adenocarcinoma cells can enhance the effect of radioimmunotherapy.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) The phase III STELLAR (NCT02533271) trial demonstrated that four cycles of chemotherapy after short-course radiotherapy (SCRT-TNT) were not inferior to the standard care of long-course concurrent radiotherapy (LCRT) in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). This study assessed the cost-effectiveness of SCRT-TNT versus LCRT in locally advanced rectal cancer in China on the basis of the STELLAR trial. MATERIALS/METHODS A Markov model was used to synthesize the healthcare costs and benefits of LARC patients based on results from the STELLAR trial. The model assumes that LARC who meet the inclusion criteria of the STELLAR trial experience four possible states: No Evidence of Disease (NED), locally recurrence, distant metastases, or any death from rectal cancer or other unrelated causes, where local recurrence continues to be classified as resectable and unresectable. The transition status period is 3 month, and 5 years is used to calculate direct medical costs and health benefits. The probabilities of states transition after SCRT-TNT or LCRT were derived from the results of the STELLAR trial and previous published article (Table.1). Costs were evaluated from the Chinese payer's perspective reported in early 2022 US dollars (US$1 = 6.78 Chinese Yuan). Sensitivity analyses were performed for key variables. Cost-effectiveness was evaluated using the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio and net monetary benefits. Effectiveness was defined as quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs). Willingness-to-pay (WTP) threshold was set at $43500/QALY. Data were collected from October 3, 2020, to September 20, 2021, and analyzed from November 15, 2020, to October 25, 2021. RESULTS During the 5-year horizon, for the base case scenario, SCRT-TNT incurred a lower total cost and higher QALYs compared with LCCRT. The total cost was $65767 and QALYs were 1.77 for SCRT-TNT; for LCCRT, the total cost was $72802 and QALYs were 1.64. This resulted in an ICER of -$ 55470.69 per QALY. Therefore, SCRT-TNT was a cost-saving and dominating treatment strategy compared with LCRT. Sensitivity analysis showed that ICERs were most sensitive to the parameters of distant metastases risk after treatment. CONCLUSION SCRT-TNT in locally advanced rectal cancer can be a cost-effective alternative to LCRT in China, and should be considered in appropriately selected patients.
