Abstract
IntroductionMyeloid sarcoma (MS) is an extramedullary malignant tumor composed of immature myeloid cells. It occurs in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), or chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). MS may coincide with disease diagnosis or precede bone marrow involvement by months or even years; it can also represent the extramedullary manifestation of a relapse (1, 2).AimThe aim of this study is to describe clinical characteristics of children diagnosed with MS in Poland as well as to analyze diagnostic methods, treatment, and outcomes including overall survival (OS), relapse-free survival (RFS), and event-free survival (EFS). The study also attempted to identify factors determining treatment outcomes.PatientsThe study group comprised 43 patients (F=18, M=25) aged 0-18 years (median age, 10.0 years; mean age, 8.8 years) diagnosed with MS based on tumor biopsy and immunohistochemistry or identification of underlying bone marrow disease and extramedullary tumor according to imaging findings.MethodsThe clinical data and diagnostic and therapeutic methods used in the study group were analyzed. A statistical analysis of the treatment outcomes was conducted with STATISTICA v. 13 (StatSoft, Inc., Tulsa, OK, USA) and analysis of survival curves was conducted with MedCalc 11.5.1 (MedCalc Software, Ostend, Belgium). Statistical significance was considered at p<0.05.ResultsIn the study group, MS was most frequently accompanied by AML. The most common site of involvement was skin, followed by orbital region. Skin manifestation of MS was more common in the age group <10 years. The most frequent genetic abnormality was the t(8;21)(q22;q22) translocation. The 5-year OS probability (pOS), 5-year RFS probability (pRFS), and 5-year EFS probability (pEFS) were 0.67 ± 0.08, 0.79 ± 0.07, and 0.65 ± 0.08, respectively. In patients with isolated MS and those with concurrent bone marrow involvement by AML/MDS, pOS values were 0.56 ± 0.12 and 0.84 ± 0.09 (p=0.0251), respectively, and pEFS values were 0.56 ± 0.12 and 0.82 ± 0.08 (p=0.0247), respectively. In patients with and without the t(8;21)(q22;q22) translocation, pEFS values were 0.90 ± 0.09 and 0.51 ± 0.14 (p=0.0490), respectively.ConclusionsMS is a disease with a highly variable clinical course. Worse treatment outcomes were observed in patients with isolated MS compared to those with concurrent bone marrow involvement by AML/MDS. Patients with the t(8;21)(q22;q22) translocation were found to have significantly higher pEFS. MS location, age group, chemotherapy regimen, surgery, and/or radiotherapy did not have a significant influence on treatment outcomes. Further exploration of prognostic factors in children with MS is indicated.

Abstract
Ataxia-telangiectasia (AT) is a multisystemic neurodegenerative inborn error of immunity (IEI) characterized by DNA repair defect, chromosomal instability, and hypersensitivity to ionizing radiation. Impaired DNA double-strand break repair determines a high risk of developing hematological malignancies, especially lymphoproliferative diseases. Poor response to treatment, excessive chemotherapy toxicities, and the need for avoiding exposure to ionizing radiation make the successful clinical management of patients with AT challenging for oncologists. We describe the favorable outcome of the LBCL with IRF4 rearrangement at stage III in a 7-year-old female patient diagnosed with AT. The patient was treated according to the B-HR arm of the INTER-B-NHL-COP 2010 protocol, including the administration of rituximab, cyclophosphamide, methotrexate, prednisone, etc. She presented excessive treatment toxicities despite individually reduced doses of methotrexate and cyclophosphamide. However, in the MRI there was no significant reduction in pathologic lymph nodes after three immunochemotherapy courses. Therefore, a lymph node biopsy was taken. Its subsequent histopathological examination revealed tuberculosis-like changes, though tuberculosis suspicion was excluded. After two following immunochemotherapy courses, PET-CT confirmed complete remission. From March 2022 onwards, the patient has remained in remission under the care of the outpatient children's oncology clinic.

Abstract
Primary intraosseous myoepithelial tumors are rare neoplasms with only a handful of cases described in the medical literature. To date, intraosseous variant of benign myoepithelioma, due to its rarity, has not been studied ultrastructurally, and only one case of a malignant intraosseous myoepithelioma has been described. Three cases were retrieved from the files at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). A diagnosis of benign myoepithelioma was made in case 1 and malignant epithelioma in cases 2 and 3. Ultrastructurally, intermediate filaments (without dense bodies) were found in each case with an abundance in case 1 and lesser amounts in cases 2 and 3. Surprisingly, cell junctions were not identified in case 1. However, they were found occasionally as intermediate junctions in case 2 and were easily identified as desmosome like junctions in case 3. The nucleus was irregular in the neoplastic cells of benign myoepithelioma which contrasted with cases 2 and 3 where the nuclei were oval yet had visible nucleoli. Herein, we add three new cases, including two new cases of malignant myoepithelioma. We also provide the first ultrastructural description of benign myoepithelioma of bone.

Abstract
One of the reasons of distortions in ultrasonic imaging are crosstalk effects. They can be divided into groups according to the way of their formation. One of them is constituted by mechanical crosstalk, which is propagated by a construction of a multi-element array of piezoelectric transducers. When an individual transducer is excited, mechanical vibrations are transferred to adjacent construction components, thereby stimulating neighboring transducers to an undesired operation. In order to explore ways of the propagation of such vibrations, the authors developed the FEM model of the array of piezoelectric transducers designed for calculations in COMSOL Multiphysics software. Simulations of activating individual transducers and calculated electrical voltages appearing on transducers unstimulated intentionally, were performed in the time domain in order to assess the propagation velocity of different vibration modes through the construction elements. On this basis, conclusions were drawn in terms of the participation of various construction parts of the array of piezoelectric transducers in the process of creating the mechanical crosstalk. The elaborated FEM model allowed also to examine the ways aimed at reducing the transmission of mechanical crosstalk vibrations through the components of the array. Studies showed that correct cuts in the fasteners and the front layer improve the reduction of the mechanical crosstalk effect. The model can become a helpful tool in the process of design and modifications of manufactured ultrasonic arrays particularly in terms of mechanical crosstalk reduction.
