Abstract
Graphene-ceria (CeO2G) nanocomposites were prepared by using a low-temperature solution process with different weight percentages of graphene, and their electrochemical properties were investigated. Structural properties of the nanocomposites were studied by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and FTIR spectral analyses. FE-SEM and HRTEM images revealed a "wrinkled paper"-like morphology of the prepared composites. Elemental mapping images were recorded by using the FE-EPMA technique. XPS analyses revealed the binding states of different elements present in the composites. The composite with 5% graphene displayed a specific capacitance of 110 F g(-1), according to cyclic voltammetric studies, which is higher than that observed for pure CeO2 (75 F g(-1)). The significant increase in the specific capacitance suggests that the CeO2G is a promising material for supercapacitor applications.

Abstract
Nanostructured cobalt doped ZnO thin films were deposited on glass substrate by sol-gel spin coating technique and characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The XRD results showed that the thin films were well crystalline with hexagonal wurtzite structure. The results of EDAX and XPS revealed that Co was doped into ZnO structure. FESEM images revealed that the films possess granular morphology without any crack and confirm that Co doping decreases the grain size. UV-Vis transmission spectra show that the substitution of Co in ZnO leads to band gap narrowing. The Co doped ZnO films were found to exhibit improved photocatalytic activity for the degradation of methylene blue dye under visible light in comparison with the undoped ZnO film. The decrease in grain size and extending light absorption towards the visible region by Co doping in ZnO film contribute equally to the improved photocatalytic activity. The bactericidal efficiency of Co doped ZnO films were investigated against a Gram negative (Escherichia coli) and a Gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus) bacteria. The optical density (OD) measurement showed better bactericidal activity at higher level of Co doping in ZnO.

Abstract
This paper elucidates the development of a curcumin cross-linked collagen aerogel system with controlled anti-proteolytic activity and pro-angiogenic efficacy. The results of this study showed that in situ cross-linking of curcumin with collagen leads to the development of aerogels with enhanced physical and mechanical properties. The integrity of collagen after cross-linking with curcumin was studied via FTIR spectroscopy. The results confirmed that the cross-linking with curcumin did not induce any structural changes in the collagen. The curcumin cross-linked collagen aerogels exhibited potent anti-proteolytic and anti-microbial activity. Scanning electron and atomic force microscopic analysis of curcumin cross-linked collagen aerogels showed a 3D microstructure that enhanced the adhesion and proliferation of cells. The highly organized geometry of collagen-curcumin aerogels enhanced the permeability and water-retaining ability required for the diffusion of nutrients that aid cellular growth. The pro-angiogenic properties of collagen-curcumin aerogels were ascribed to the cumulative effect of the nutraceutical and the collagen molecule, which augmented the restoration of damaged tissue. Further, these aerogels exhibited controlled anti-proteolytic activity, which makes them suitable 3D scaffolds for biomedical applications. This study provides scope for the development of biocompatible and bioresorbable collagen aerogel systems that use a nutraceutical as a cross-linker for biomedical applications.

Abstract
Metal oxides based graphene nanocomposites were used for ammonia vapour sensing. The self-assembly process was adopted to prepare freestanding flexible pure rGO, CeO2-rGO and SnO2-rGO composite papers. The structural studies confirmed the formation of rGO composite papers. The ammonia vapor sensing was demonstrated using an impedance analyzer at different humidity levels as well as concentration. The CeO2-rGO composite paper achieved a sensitivity of 51.70 ± 1.2%, which was higher than that of pure rGO and SnO2-rGO composite paper. Both the surfaces (top and bottom) of the papers are active in efficiently sensing ammonia, which makes the present work unique. The results reveal that metal oxide/rGO papers can be effectively utilized in real time sensor application.

Abstract
Antimonene is an exfoliated 2D nanomaterial obtained from bulk antimony. It is a novel class of 2D material for energy storage applications. In the present work, antimonene was synthesized using a high-energy ball milling-sonochemical method. The structural, morphological, thermal, and electrochemical properties of antimonene were comparatively analyzed against bulk antimony. X-ray diffractometry (XRD) analysis confirms the crystal structure and 2D structure of antimonene, as a peak shift was observed. The Raman spectra show the peak shift for the Eg and A1g modes of vibration of antimony, which confirms the formation of antimonene. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) images depict the exfoliation of antimonene from bulk antimony. Thermal analysis unveiled the thermal stability of antimonene up to 400 °C with only 3% weight loss. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis reveals the formation of antimonene, which is free from contamination. The electrochemical properties of antimony and antimonene were investigated using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and chronopotentiometric (CP) analysis, using 2 M KOH as an electrolyte. Antimonene exhibited a relatively high specific capacitance of 597 F g-1 compared to ball-milled antimony (101 F g-1) at a scan rate of 10 mV s-1. Moreover, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analysis revealed that antimonene has a relatively low equivalence series resistance (RESR) and low charge transfer resistance (RCT) compared to bulk antimony, which favors high electrochemical performance. The cyclic stability of antimonene was studied for 3000 cycles, and the results show high cyclic stability. The electrochemical results demonstrated that antimonene is a promising material for energy storage applications.
