Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study aims to assess the effectiveness of an intervention based on the goal attainment theory to levels of physical activity, body composition, and motivational variables of emerging adults with physical inactivity. STUDY DESIGN A randomized, controlled trial. METHODS A total of 157 emerging adults with physical inactivity were randomized into the control group (n = 77) or the intervention group (n = 80). The control group received routine health education for a period of 3 months, and the intervention group used a physical activity promotion intervention model based on King's attainment theory on the basis of the control group. The primary outcome was the body composition. Secondary outcomes were examined included levels of physical activity, motivation, and self-efficacy. RESULTS The results indicate that the visceral fat area was significantly lower in the intervention group (Z = -6.79, P < 0.001), along with reductions in body fat mass (Z = -2.85, P < 0.05) and body fat percentage (F = -2.78, P < 0.05). The intervention group also demonstrated higher introjected motivation (Z = 2.70, P < 0.05) and self-efficacy (Z = 4.06, P < 0.001) than the control group. Physical activity levels were significantly higher in the intervention group, with increases observed in vigorous activity (Z = 60.51, P < 0.001), moderate activity (Z = 104.90, P < 0.001), walking activity (Z = 7.37, P < 0.001), and total physical activity (Z = 91.40, P < 0.001) compared to the control group. CONCLUSIONS Physical activity interventions based on King's Attainment Theory can improve body composition, increase physical activity levels, improve exercise self-efficacy, and promote maintenance of healthy behaviours in emerging adults. Abstract
The transfer of natural antioxidants from feed to milk has become a research hotspot. Polyphenols are a source of potent natural antioxidants that may play important roles in improving antioxidant activity and milk quality in dairy goats. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of polyphenol-rich Coix seed extract (CSE) on rumen fermentation, milk production, fatty acid profile, antioxidant activity, and polyphenol content in milk from lactating dairy goats. Forty dairy goats were allocated to 4 treatments, and the treatments containing 0, 1.5, 3.0, or 4.5 g of CSE per kg of total mixed ration. The results indicated that the ruminal fluid total volatile fatty acid level increased linearly and quadratically, the acetic acid concentration and acetate:propionate ratio decreased quadratically, and the propionic acid level increased quadratically with increasing CSE concentration. An increase in dietary CSE linearly and quadratically increased milk production parameters, and quadratically increased milk protein, lactose, and solids-not-fat. The concentrations of C18:3n-3, C20:3n-3, and C22:5n-3 in milk were affected by the treatment, and increased quadratically, whereas those of C18:2n-6c, C20:3n-6, and C20:4n-6 decreased quadratically with increasing CSE. An increase in the concentration of CSE in the diet linearly and quadratically increased 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging activity in plasma and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and catalase (CAT) activities in milk. The levels of gallic acid, protocatechuic acid, catechin, apigenin, kaempferol, and bergapten in milk were affected by the treatment, and linearly and quadratically increased with increasing dietary CSE levels. Significant positive correlations were detected between TAC, CAT, and DPPH scavenging activity and gallic acid, protocatechuic acid, apigenin, kaempferol, and bergapten, and positive correlations were detected between CAT and DPPH scavenging activity and catechin concentration in milk. In addition, significant positive correlations were detected between DPPH scavenging activity in plasma and TAC, DPPH scavenging activity in milk. Taken together, these findings indicate that dietary supplementation with CSE appears to be a promising strategy for improving the production performance of lactating dairy goats. Overall, the appropriate supplemental level of CSE was 1.5 g/kg in dairy goats under the conditions of the current experiment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND There is wide variation in how faculty development (FD) is practiced globally and described in the literature. This scoping review aims to clarify how FD is conceptualised and practiced in health professions education. METHODOLOGY Using a systematic search strategy, 418 papers, published between 2015-2023, were included for full text review. We extracted data using closed and open-ended questions. Quantitative data were summarised using descriptive statistics and qualitative data synthesised using content analysis. RESULTS Faculty development was the most frequently used term encompassing a range of understandings and practices. Many papers focused on educators' enhanced understanding of teaching, learning, and assessment. Several highlighted the social context of collaborative practice and organisational learning. FD formats included workshops, courses, longitudinal programs, and coaching and mentoring. Dominant conceptual frameworks included Kirkpatrick's model of evaluation, communities of practice theory, adult learning theory, and experiential learning. CONCLUSIONS Although FD continues to evolve in response to the dynamic HPE landscape, this growth needs to be accelerated. To facilitate meaningful collaboration across professions, contexts, and countries, attention must be paid to terms used and meanings ascribed to them. Those responsible for FD need to think anew about its purpose and practice, demonstrating flexibility as the ever-changing context demands.

Abstract
In the field of peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation technology, there is a pressing need to reduce PMS consumption and enhance its utilization rate. The present study demonstrates that the introduction of dissolved oxygen (DO) into the Mn(II)-nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA)-activated PMS system significantly enhances the degradation efficiency of sulfadiazine and increases the PMS utilization rate from approximately 15.0 to 41.3 %. Mechanistic analysis reveals that the Mn(II)-NTA/PMS system generates sulfate radicals as well as intermediate valent manganese species in the absence of DO; while in the presence of DO, Mn(II) is oxidized to Mn(III) by dioxygen to form superoxide anions and Mn(III), which can be further oxidized by PMS to higher valence states such as Mn(V) and Mn(VII). Consequently, the production of free radicals decreases while intermediate valent manganese species become more abundant. Additionally, O2•- can also reduce both Mn(VII) and Mn(IV) back to their lower oxidation state (Mn(II)). The cooperative interactions between these active species enhance the efficiency of catalytic cycles of manganese species. Moreover, the influence of multiple factors, the degradation products, and their associated toxicity assessment were investigated. Overall, this research provides valuable insights into the design of highly efficient PMS and DO activation systems.

Abstract
Infiltrated and activated M1 macrophages play a role in kidney injury and fibrosis during chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression. However, the specific ways that M1 macrophage polarization contributes to renal fibrosis are not fully understood. The study seeks to investigate how miR-92a-3p regulates M1 macrophage polarization and its connection to renal fibrosis in the development of CKD. Our results revealed that miR-92a-3p overexpression increased M1-macrophage activation, iNOS, IL-6, and TNF-alpha expression in RAW264.7 upon LPS stimulation. LIN28A overexpression reversed these effects. Moreover, miR-92a-3p overexpression in RAW264.7 exacerbated NRK-52E cell apoptosis induced by LPS, but LIN28A overexpression counteracted this effect. MiR-92a-3p knockout in unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO) C57BL/6 mice led to reduced renal infiltration and fibrosis, accompanied by decreased iNOS, alpha-SMA, IL-6, TNF-alpha, and increased LIN28A. In summary, our findings suggest that miR-92a-3p may play a role in promoting renal injury and fibrosis both in vitro and in vivo. This effect is potentially achieved by facilitating M1 macrophage polarization through the targeting of LIN28A.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease characterized by intense pruritus and eczematous lesions. Tozorakimab is a high-affinity human monoclonal antibody that neutralizes interleukin-33, a broad-acting alarmin cytokine that is over-expressed in keratinocytes of patients with AD. OBJECTIVES This Phase 2a study (FRONTIER-2; NCT04212169) evaluated the safety and efficacy of tozorakimab in adults with moderate-to-severe AD. METHODS FRONTIER-2 was a randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, double-blind study conducted from 9 December 2019 to 20 September 2022 at 32 centres across six countries. Patients were randomized 3:1:1:3 to receive placebo, tozorakimab 60 mg, tozorakimab 300 mg or tozorakimab 600 mg by subcutaneous injection once every 4 weeks for four doses. The primary endpoint was percentage change from baseline to Week 16 in the Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI) score in patients treated with tozorakimab versus placebo. Secondary outcomes included EASI-75 responders (patients achieving ≥75% reduction from baseline in EASI score), Investigator's Global Assessment (IGA) responders (patients achieving an IGA score of 0 or 1), pharmacokinetics, immunogenicity and safety. RESULTS Overall, 148 patients were randomized. There was no statistically significant difference in the primary endpoint (60 mg difference of 1.3 [90% confidence interval (CI): -13.7, 16.2], p = 0.888; 300 mg: difference of 5.9 [90% CI: -10.4, 22.1], p = 0.549; 600 mg: difference of - 1.7 [90% CI: -13.4, 10.0], p = 0.807). The proportion of EASI-75 and IGA 0/1 responders at Week 16 was numerically higher in the tozorakimab 600 mg group than in the placebo group (EASI-75: 18.2% vs. 7.1%, p = 0.094; IGA 0/1: 9.1% vs. 1.8%, p = 0.113). Serum pharmacokinetics were dose-dependent, immunogenicity incidence was low and tozorakimab was well tolerated. CONCLUSIONS FRONTIER-2 did not show a statistically significant difference in the primary endpoint for tozorakimab compared with placebo. However, numerical increases in responder rates were observed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cognitive impairment can be caused by infections with various pathogens, including SARS-CoV-2. Research has yet to determine the true incidence and course of cognitive impairment in older adults following COVID-19. Furthermore, research has theorised that COVID-19 is associated with dementia progression and diagnosis but this association has yet to be fully described. METHODS A systematic review was registered in Prospero and conducted on the databases PubMed, Embase, Ovid, CENTRAL and Cochrane Library. Studies reporting cognitive impairment and dementia outcomes in post-acute and post-COVID-19 patients aged ≥65 years, and which included control data, were included in this review. RESULTS 15,124 articles were identified by the search strategy. After eliminating duplicate titles and completing title, abstracts and full-text review, 18 studies were included comprising of 412,957 patients with COVID-19 (46.63 % male) and 411,929 patients without COVID-19 (46.59 % male). The overall mean Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score in COVID-19 patients was 23.34 out of 30 (95 % CI [22.24, 24.43]). indicating cognitive impairment. The overall proportion of patients identified as having new onset cognitive impairment was 65 % (95 % CI [44,81]). Subgroup analyses indicated that time since infection significantly improves overall MoCA score and reduces proportion of patients with cognitive impairment. CONCLUSION This study indicates that cognitive impairment may be an important sequela of COVID-19. Further research with adequate sample sizes is warranted regarding COVID-19's association with new-onset dementia and dementia progression, and the effect of repeat infections. There is a need for development of diagnostic and management protocols for COVID-19 patients with cognitive impairment.

Abstract
PURPOSE While serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH]D) deficiency is prevalent in chronic kidney disease (CKD), the effects of 25(OH)D deficiency on cardiovascular mortality and kidney outcomes in patients with early-stage CKD remain incompletely understood. METHODS This multicenter retrospective cohort study included adult patients with stages 1-3 CKD from 19 medical centers across China between January 2000 and May 2021. The primary outcome was cardiovascular mortality. The secondary study outcome included CKD progression (defined as a sustained > 40% eGFR decrease from baseline or progress to end-stage kidney disease), and annual percentage change of eGFR. RESULTS Of 9229 adults with stages 1-3 CKD, 27.0% and 38.9% had severe (< 10 ng/mL) and moderate (10 to < 20 ng/mL) serum 25(OH)D deficiency, respectively. Compared with patients having 25(OH)D ≥ 20 ng/mL, a significantly higher risk of cardiovascular mortality (hazard ratio [HR] 1.90, 95% CI 1.37-2.63), CKD progression (HR 2.20, 95% CI 1.68-2.88), and a steeper annual decline in eGFR (estimate - 7.87%; 95% CI - 10.24% to - 5.51% per year) was found in those with serum 25(OH)D < 10 ng/mL. Similar results were obtained in subgroups and by sensitivity analyses. CONCLUSIONS 25(OH)D deficiency is associated with increased risks of cardiovascular mortality and CKD progression in patients with early-stage CKD. Studies are needed to determine whether early intervention for 25(OH)D deficiency could improve the prognosis of patients with early-stage CKD.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Ovarian neuroendocrine tumors are rare and often arise within mature teratoma of the ovary. No recent re-evaluation of the immunophenotype of these tumors with the new markers available in the field of neuroendocrine neoplasms has been performed. The objectives were to describe the morphologic and immunohistochemical characteristics of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) arising from ovarian teratomas, to correlate them with the type of teratomatous epithelial components present and to evaluate their proliferative activity using the WHO recommendations for gastroenteropancreatic NETs. MATERIALS AND METHODS This is a bi-centric retrospective study using a panel of markers (chromogranin-A, chromogranin-B, synaptophysin, CDX2, SATB2, TTF1, PAX8, islet-1, serotonin and calcitonin) and Ki-67 proliferation index. RESULTS The 34 NETs studied were unilateral and presented when it's done four distinct immunophenotypic profiles: 8 NETs expressed serotonin and CDX2 (small intestinal profile), 12 SATB2 (colorectal profile), one TTF1 (thoracic profile) and 4 "null" tumors expressed none of the above markers. The Ki-67 index ranged from 0 to 19.82% (median: 1.51%). 28 tumors were grade 1 (85%), 5 tumors were grade 2 (15%). They were associated with squamous (n = 26), respiratory (n = 23), thyroid (n = 10) and gastrointestinal (n = 5) components. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION The main type of NET is intestinal phenotype, but rarely accompanied with digestive tissue. This suggests that the cell of origin may be a neuroendocrine precursor present in the teratoma, and confirms that primary NETs arising in ovarian teratomas should not be classified or named according to the type of the surrounding teratoma tissue.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect and potential mechanism of exposure to 20 nm polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NPs) on lipid metabolism in mice liver. Methods: An animal experimental model was designed, which was completed from September 2022 to July 2023 on the exposure omics platform of the School of Public Health at Capital Medical University and the Key Laboratory of Environment and Population Health at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.1 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg PS-NPs tail vein mice exposure models were constructed. After exposure 7 d, serum was collected to measure the levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST). Real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and air flow assisted desorption electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry imaging (AFADESI-MSI) analysis were used to analyze the mRNA levels of fatty acid esterification related genes (Dgat1 and Dgat2) and lipid transport related genes (ApoB, Cd36, ApoE and Mttp) and metabolites' spatial changes in liver tissue. In vivo imaging system (IVIS) and tissue shake sections were employed to observe the fluorescence biological distribution of PS-NPs. t-test or one-way ANOVA was used to explore the difference between groups. Results: The serum ALT levels were (83.97±4.58), (91.17±13.69) and (142.43±6.09) U/L in the control group, 1 mg/kg PS-NPs exposure group and 10 mg/kg PS-NPs exposure group respectively (F=37.281, P<0.05). The relative mRNA levels of Dgat1, Dgat2, ApoB, Cd36 and ApoE were (1.49±0.63, 2.53±0.32, 2.45±0.54), (1.07±0.38, 1.86±0.83, 2.23±0.73), (1.01±0.13, 1.58±0.43, 2.03±0.52), (1.01±0.14, 1.55±0.37, 1.52±0.51), (1.01±0.17, 2.11±0.27, 2.39±0.93) in these three groups respectively. The differences were statistically significant (F=11.54, 6.95, 14.90, 5.98 and 14.68, P<0.05). AFADESI-MSI analysis found that PS-NPs exposure led to a significant decrease in the levels of glutarylcarnitine and O-Linoleoylcarnitine (t=4.12 and 3.35, P<0.05), which were associated with lipid beta oxidation. The content of triglycerides (TG) (m/z 921.726 4, t=8.69, P<0.05; m/z 919.711 4, t=3.20, P<0.05), phosphatidylic acid (PA) (m/z 895.712 3, t=3.60, P<0.05; m/z 821.526 6, t=3.36, P<0.05), lysophosphatidylcholine (LysoPC) (m/z 560.310 6, t=3.35, P<0.05; m/z 582.295 3, t=6.28, P<0.05), phosphatidylcholine (PC) (m/z 778.533 9, t=3.53, P<0.05; m/z 804.549 6, t=3.60, P<0.05; m/z 820.523 1, t=3.37, P<0.05), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) (m/z 772.523 3, t=3.08, P<0.05) showed a significant increase in the PS-NPs exposure group. In vivo and in vitro imaging and in situ cell localization revealed that PS-NPs were mainly enriched in hepatic stellate cells and hepatic Kupffer cells in liver tissue. Conclusion: Exposure to PS-NPs induces disorder of liver lipid metabolism, which may be related to the accumulation of PS-NPs in hepatic stellate cells and hepatic Kupffer cells, providing basis for searching early biomarkers of PS-NPs exposure and further mechanism research.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effects of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) on myocardial damage, coronary multi-vessel lesion and postoperative indexes in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS). Methods: The patients, admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from September 2022 to October 2023 due to chest tightness and pain, diagnosed with ACS and accompanied by emergency/elective percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)at, were prospectively enrolled. Portable sleep monitor was used to monitor after stabilization of condition(postoperative day 2±1). The patients were divided into the OSA group (AHI≥15/h) and the control group (AHI<15/h) according to apnea-hypopnea index (AHI). The hematologic indices, echocardiographic parameters, coronary vascular scores and postoperative indicators between the groups were compared. Binary logistic regression model was used to analyze the risk factors for muti-vessel lesion in patients with ACS. Results: One hundred and four ACS patients who met the inclusion criteria were ultimately included, including 85 males (81.7%) and 19 females (18.3%), aged (57.3±10.8) years, of whom 48.1% (50/104) were complicated with OSA. Body mass index (BMI), prevalence of hypertension and diabetes, triglyceride (TG), glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and D-dimer in the OSA group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in sleep parameters between the two groups (P<0.05). The patients in the OSA group exhibited higher troponin T (cTnT) [M(Q1,Q3),54.0 (9.3,343.8) ng/L vs 15.0 (7.8,38.8) ng/L, P<0.05], larger left atrial internal diameters [41.4 (39.3,45.2) mm vs 40.2 (37.1,42.0) mm, P<0.05], more diseased vessels [2 (1, 3) vs 1 (1, 2), P<0.001], a higher percentage of muti-vessel lesion[60.0%(30/50)vs 29.6%(16/54),P<0.05], and a higher incidence of cardiovascular complications during hospitalization[10.0%(5/50)vs 0(0/54), P=0.017]. The results of binary logistic regression analysis suggested that after adjusting for confounders, AHI (OR=1.035, 95%CI: 1.008-1.063, P=0.011) was independently associated with the development of muti-vessel lesion in patients with ACS. Conclusions: ACS patients with OSA suffer more severe myocardial damage, are more likely to develop structural abnormalities of left heart and multi-vessel lesion, and have a higher incidence of postoperative complications. High AHI is a risk factor for multi-vessel lesion in ACS patients.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the relationship between arousal threshold (ArTH) and hypertension in patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSA). Methods: This study recruited 648 patients diagnosed with OSA at the Sleep Center of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from January 2020 to August 2021, including 569 males and 79 females, aged 42(35,52) years. The basic demographic information and clinical data of all patients were collected, including blood pressure measurement, and relevant questionnaire scores, and nocturnal polysomnography (PSG) parameters. A clinical predictive model based on sleep apnea hypopnea index (AHI), lowest pulse oxygen saturation (LSpaO2) and hypopnea ratio (FHypopneas) was used to access the arousal threshold of OSA patients. Patients were divided into OSA group and OSA with hypertension group according to whether they were combined with hypertension. The differences in the above indexes between the two groups were analyzed to explore the relationship between arousal threshold and hypertension in OSA patients, using a binary logistic stepwise regression analysis. Results: A total of 648 OSA patients were enrolled, including 415 in the OSA with hypertension group and 233 in the OSA group. Compared with OSA group, OSA with hypertension group had older age, higher body mass index (BMI), higher blood pressure at bedtime and at awakening, higher AHI and lower proportion of hypopnea (all P<0.05). There were no significant differences between other general data and PSG parameters (all P>0.05). The proportion of patients with low arousal threshold (AHI<30 events per hour, LSpO2>82.5%, Fhypopneas>58.3%) in OSA with hypertension group was lower, and the proportion of phenotypic patients with low arousal threshold was significantly lower (30.1% vs. 52.4% P<0.001). Binary logistic stepwise regression analysis showed that the high arousal threshold (OR=1.930, 95%CI:1.326-2.808, P=0.001) was an independent risk factor for OSA complicated with hypertension. Conclusion: The arousal threshold is associated with the development of hypertension in OSA patients, and OSA patients with a high arousal threshold have a higher risk of developing hypertension.

Abstract
Inhibition along the auditory pathway is crucial for processing of acoustic information. Within the auditory thalamus, a key region in the central auditory pathway, inhibition is provided by the thalamic reticular nucleus (TRN), comprised of two large classes of inhibitory neurons, parvalbumin (PV TRN ) and somatostatin (SST TRN ) positive. In the auditory cortex, PV and SST neurons differentially shape auditory processing. We found that the ventral MGB, the thalamic region in the direct ascending auditory pathway, receives inputs predominantly from PV TRN neurons, whereas SST TRN neurons project to the dorso-medial regions of MGB. Consistently, inactivating PV TRN neurons increased sound-evoked activity in over a third of neurons in the vMGB, with another large fraction of neurons being suppressed. By contrast, inactivating SST TRN neuronal activity largely reduced tone-evoked activity in vMGB neurons. Cell type-specific computational models revealed candidate circuit mechanisms for generating the bi-directional effects of TRN inactivation on MGB sound responses. These differential inhibitory pathways within the auditory thalamus suggest a cell-specific role for thalamic inhibition in auditory computation and behavior.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of oral and transdermal estradiol in alleviating menopausal symptoms. METHOD A total of 257 recently menopausal women were randomized into two groups. The t-E2 group received transdermal estradiol (2.5 g per day) (n = 128) and the o-E2V group received oral estradiol valerate (2 mg per day) (n = 129) for 24 weeks; both groups received micronized progesterone (200 mg per day). The primary outcome measure is the change in the modified Kupperman Menopausal Index (KMI) after 24 weeks of treatment. Menopausal symptoms were recorded at screening and at 4, 12 and 24 weeks using both the KMI and the Menopause Rating Scale (MRS). RESULTS Significant amelioration was observed by KMI and MRS scores for both groups after treatment (p < 0.001). The mean KMI scores showed no difference between the two groups. The mean MRS scores were similar between the two groups at baseline and after 4 weeks of treatment. The results showed statistical differences after 12 weeks and 24 weeks of treatment (p = 0.005 and p = 0.011). Both the after-treatment scores minus the baseline scores of KMI and MRS and the incidence of adverse effects showed no difference between the two groups. CONCLUSIONS This study shows that both transdermal and oral estradiol are effective in relieving menopausal symptoms, with little difference in treatment efficacy and safety. Abstract
Objective: The National Central Cancer Registry estimates the number of new cancer cases and deaths in China in 2022, using incidence and mortality data collected by the National Cancer Center. Methods: According to the data of 700 cancer registries in 2018 and the data of 106 cancer registries from 2010 to 2018, the age-period-cohort model was used to estimate the incidence rate and mortality rate of all cancers and 23 types of cancer in 2022, stratified by gender and urban and rural areas. We estimated the number of new cancer cases and deaths in China in 2022 based on the estimated rate and population data in 2022. Results: The estimated results showed that in 2022, there were approximately 4 824 700 new cancer cases in China (2 533 900 in males and 2 290 800 in females), with an age-standardized incidence rate of Chinese population (ASIR) of 208.58 per 100 000 (212.67 per 100 000 for males and 208.08 per 100 000 for females). Approximately 2 903 900 new cancer cases occurred in urban areas, with an ASIR of 212.95 per 100 000. It was estimated about 1 920 800 new cancer cases in rural areas, and the ASIR was 199.65 per 100 000. The top five cancers (lung cancer 1 060 600, colorectal cancer 517 100, thyroid cancer 466 100, liver cancer 367 700 and female breast cancer 357 200) accounted for 57.4% of all new cases. The estimated number of deaths from cancer in China in 2022 was 2 574 200 (1 629 300 in males and 944 900 in females), with an age-standardized mortality rate of Chinese population (ASMR) of 97.08 per 100 000 (127.70 per 100 000 in males and 68.67 per 100 000 in females). The number of deaths from cancer in urban and rural areas was about 1 400 600 and 1 173 400, with the ASMR of 92.37 and 103.97 per 100 000 in urban and rural areas, respectively. The top five leading cause of cancers death (lung cancer 733 300, liver cancer 316 500, gastric cancer 260 400, colorectal cancer 240 000 and esophageal cancer 187 500) accounted for 67.5% of all cancer deaths. Lung cancer ranked first in the incidence and mortality in men and women. The incidence rate in urban areas was higher than that in rural areas, while the mortality rate was lower than that in rural areas. Conclusions: The burden of cancer in China is still relatively heavy, with significant differences in cancer patterns in gender, urban-rural, and regional. The burden of cancer presents a coexistence of developed and developing countries, and the situation of cancer prevention and control is still serious in China.

Abstract
Long-term tumour recurrence rates and complications of endoscope-assisted partial superficial parotidectomy (PSP) are rarely reported compared to traditional open approaches. This retrospective study included 306 patients with superficial parotid benign neoplasms who were divided into an endoscopy group (endoscope-assisted PSP, n = 102) and a control group (conventional PSP, n = 204). There were no significant differences in clinical and pathological characteristics between the two groups, except age (P = 0.001). Three patients had confirmed recurrence during a mean follow-up duration of 125.1 months. Ten (9.8%) patients in the endoscopy group and 22 (10.8%) in the control group developed transient facial nerve palsy (P = 0.792), and recovered 6 months after the operation. Nine (8.8%) and 19 (9.3%) patients, respectively, suffered from Frey syndrome (P = 0.889). A sensory deficit of the auricle occurred in 24 (23.5%) and 57 (27.9%) patients respectively (P = 0.410). Patients in the endoscopy group were more satisfied with the postoperative scar than those in the control group (P < 0.001). This study demonstrated that the endoscope-assisted PSP can be curative, with better cosmetic outcomes than the conventional approach, and does not increase the incidence of postoperative complications or the local recurrence rate.

Abstract
Periodontal bone regeneration remains a clinical challenge, and hyperlipidemia can aggravate alveolar bone resorption. Probiotics have recently been reported to improve bone mass. We aimed to determine the role of Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) in periodontal bone regeneration improvement within the context of periodontitis with hyperlipidemia. A Sprague Dawley rat model for periodontitis, hyperlipidemia, and periodontal fenestration defect was constructed (n = 36) and administered LGG gavage for 6 wk (the rats were subsequently sacrificed). Fecal microbiota from donor rats 3 wk after LGG gavage was transplanted into recipient rats to evaluate the role of LGG-modulated gut microbiota in periodontal bone regeneration. Regenerated bone mass was detected using micro-computerized tomography and hematoxylin and eosin stain. Gut microbiota was analyzed using 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing. Serum metabolites were detected by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (6 wk after LGG gavage). The pro-osteogenic effects of screened serum metabolite were verified in vitro on bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs). We found that the bone mineral density, bone volume (BV), trabecular bone volume fraction (BV/TV), and trabecular thickness of the regenerated periodontal bone increased after LGG gavage (P < 0.05) but had little effect on oral flora. After LGG gavage, Staphylococcus, Corynebacterium, and Collinsella in the gut of donors were significantly changed, and these differences were maintained in recipients, who also showed increased trabecular thickness of the regenerated periodontal bone (P < 0.05). These key genera were correlated with BV/TV and BV (P < 0.05). In addition, LGG gavage significantly regulated bone-related blood metabolites, of which selenomethionine promoted BMMSC osteogenesis. Notably, selenomethionine was associated with key gut genera (P < 0.05). Collectively, LGG improved periodontal bone regeneration in the context of periodontitis with hyperlipidemia by modulating gut microbiota and increasing pro-osteogenic metabolites in the blood. These results reveal new insights into the use of probiotics to promote periodontal bone regeneration via the gut-blood-bone axis.

Abstract
The future Ricochet experiment aims to search for new physics in the electroweak sector by measuring the Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering process from reactor antineutrinos with high precision down to the sub-100 eV nuclear recoil energy range. While the Ricochet collaboration is currently building the experimental setup at the reactor site, it is also finalizing the cryogenic detector arrays that will be integrated into the cryostat at the Institut Laue Langevin in early 2024. In this paper, we report on recent progress from the Ge cryogenic detector technology, called the CryoCube. More specifically, we present the first demonstration of a 30 eVee (electron equivalent) baseline ionization resolution (RMS) achieved with an early design of the detector assembly and its dedicated High Electron Mobility Transistor (HEMT) based front-end electronics with a total input capacitance of about 40 pF. This represents an order of magnitude improvement over the best ionization resolutions obtained on similar phonon-and-ionization germanium cryogenic detectors from the EDELWEISS and SuperCDMS dark matter experiments, and a factor of three improvement compared to the first fully-cryogenic HEMT-based preamplifier coupled to a CDMS-II germanium detector with a total input capacitance of 250 pF. Additionally, we discuss the implications of these results in the context of the future Ricochet experiment and its expected background mitigation performance.

Abstract
Single crystals of GaKCu(PO4)2were synthesized using the hydrothermal method, and subsequent measurements of specific heat, magnetic susceptibility, and high-field magnetization were performed. A broad peak is observed in the magnetic susceptibility and specific heat curves, with the maximum values appearing at about 11.5 K and 5.29 K, respectively. The highest maximum peak value of susceptibility is observed when the magnetic field is applied along thec-axis, followed by thea-axis,b-axis, and polycrystalline samples. These indicate that the system exhibits one-dimensional magnetism and the magnetic easy axis is thecaxis. The magnetization at 2 K reveals the occurrence of a field-induced Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) phase within the magnetic field range of approximately 8-12 T. High-field magnetization up to 40 T indicates that the compound reaches magnetization saturation as the field exceedsHs= 12 T. Through systematic measurements, a field-temperature (H-T) phase diagram was constructed, and dome-like phase boundaries were observed. The findings suggest that GaKCu(PO4)2is a spin gap system and a promising candidate for studying BEC of magnons due to its phase transition boundary occurring at low magnetic fields.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Exercise is a promising non-pharmacological therapy for subjective cognitive decline, but it is unclear which type of exercise is most effective. The objective was to assess the comparative effects and ranks of all exercise-based interventions on cognitive function in patients with subjective cognitive decline (SCD). METHOD In this network meta-analysis, Online databases for Web of Science, PubMed, Embase, Medline, Cochrane Library and PsycINFO were searched from inception to April 30, 2023. The included studies are randomized controlled trials assessing the efficacy of exercise interventions for individuals with SCD. The primary outcome measure is memory, while secondary outcome measures encompass executive function, attention, verbal fluency, and global cognitive function. Represented using Standardized Mean Differences (SMDs) along with their 95% Confidence Intervals (CIs). Bias assessment was conducted in accordance with the 'Cochrane Risk of Bias Assessment Tool, 2nd Edition' (RoB 2). Pairwise meta-analysis was carried out using the 'meta-analysis' module within STATA 14.0, and network meta-analysis was performed using the 'mvmeta' and 'network' packages available in STATA 14.0. Registration number CRD42023289687. RESULT This study included a total of 11 randomized controlled trials, encompassing 1,166 patients. Mind-body exercise was found to be efficacious in enhancing or sustaining memory (SMD: 0.58, 95%CI: 0.06 ~ 1.10) and executive function (SMD: 0.41, 95%CI: 0.09 ~ 0.73) in individuals with subjective cognitive decline. Furthermore, mind-body exercise exhibited the highest probability of being the most effective measures for improving or preventing the decline in memory (surface under cumulative ranking curve (SUCRA) value: 90.4) and executive function (SUCRA value: 91.8). The second-ranked moderate-intensity aerobic exercise has also shown a positive effect on the improvement of executive function in patients with subjective cognitive decline (SMD: 0.23, 95%CI: 0.03 ~ 0.43, SUCRA value: 68.2). However, we did not observe a significant effectiveness of exercise interventions on verbal fluency, attention, and overall cognitive function in subjective cognitive decline. CONCLUSION Mind-body exercise may potentially be the optimal strategies for enhancing memory and executive function in individuals with subjective cognitive decline. Additionally, moderate-intensity aerobic exercise has shown a modest positive effect on executive function in subjective cognitive decline. When resources permit, practical application of these findings may be considered. Nevertheless, further support for the conclusions of this study is warranted through larger sample sizes and well-designed multicenter trials.
