Abstract
The rapid development of herbicide resistance in weeds, and environmental
imperatives, have forced the consideration of non-chemical tactics such as
crop competition for weed management. This review of wheat–weed
competition examines the plant traits associated with wheat competitiveness,
and the opportunities for plant breeding or manipulating crop agronomy to
differentially favour the growth of the crop. Many studies have proven that
enhancing crop competitive ability can reduce weed seed production and crop
yield loss, although a number of difficulties in conducting this research are
identified and suggestions are made for improvement. It remains to be seen
whether crop competitiveness will be considered as a priority by farmers and
plant breeders. Farmers require precise information on the reliability of
agronomic factors such as increased crop seeding rate or choice of variety for
enhancing crop competitive ability in different environments. Plant breeders
need to know which plant traits to incorporate in varieties to increase
competitive ability. A thorough analysis of the benefits and costs of
enhancing wheat competitiveness is needed. Competitive wheat crops should be
available as part of reliable and economical integrated weed management
packages for farmers.

Abstract
A series of germanium (Ge)-containing glasses were synthesized based on a starting glass composition of SiO2-ZnO-CaO-SrO-P2O5. Additions of GeO2 (6 and 12 mol%) were incorporated at the expense of SiO2, which retained the amorphous character, and each glass was processed to present similar particle size and surface area. Glass characterization using x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS-NMR) determined that the addition of GeO2 increased the fraction of lower Q-speciation and subsequently the concentration of non-bridging oxygens (NBO). Glass Polyalkenoate Cements (GPC) were formulated from each glass with 40, 50 and 60 wt% PAA, and presented time dependent solubility profiles (1, 10, 100, 1000 h) for the release of Si4+ (4-140 mg/l), Ca2+ (1-8 mg/l), Zn2+ (<6 mg/l), Sr2+ (2-37 mg/l), PO43- (2-43 mg/l) and Ge4+ (20-911 mg/l) and attained pH values close to 7.5 after 1000 h. Ge-GPCs containing 40 wt% polyacrylic acid (PAA) presented appropriate working time (Tw) and setting times (Ts), and the corresponding compressive strengths ranged from (14-30 MPa). The Ge-GPCs (40, 50 wt%) presented a linear increase (R2-0.99) with respect to time. Simulated Body Fluid (SBF) testing resulted in the Ge-GPCs encouraging the precipitation of crystalline hydroxyapatite on the GPC surface, more evidently after 100 and 1000 h incubation.

Abstract
Abstract
The physical, mechanical, and biological behaviour of copper containing glass polyalkenotare cements were investigated, where copper (Cu2+) was incorporated into a SiO2-ZnO-CaO-SrO-P2O5 based glass system. Three GPCs were formulated for this study, a Control and two Cu-GPCs with 6 (Cu-1) and 12 (Cu-2) Mol.% of CuO substituted for the SiO2 in the glass. Rheological evaluation of GPCs determined that the addition of the Cu decreases the working and setting times in the cements. The mechanical properties of the cements were evaluated after 1 - 21 days incubation in DI water. The compressive strength of the cements were found to range between 21-36 MPa, with Cu-1 having the highest compressive strength. Biaxial flexural strength and Shear Bond Strength of the GPCs were found to increase with respect to time and were higher for the Cu-GPCs at 14 MPa and 2.1 MPa respectively. Bioactivity testing was conducted using Simulated Body Fluid (SBF) which revealed CaP precipitants on each of the GPCs surfaces. The effect o f Cu addition to the GPCs greatly enhanced the antibacterial inhibition zone (IZ) when tested in E.coli (3mm), S.aureus (24mm) and S.epidermidis (22mm). Cytocompatibility testing revealed more favorable MC3T3 osteoblast cell viability when compared to the Control GPC.

Abstract
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a public health problem. In France, 0.68% of adults are chronically infected. We aimed to describe the epidemiological, virological and clinical characteristics of HBV infections newly diagnosed in 2011 in University hospitals of Marseille, the second largest French city. HBV serology was performed for 18,130 sera from 15,744 patients. A total of 167 patients were newly-diagnosed with HBV based upon the detection of hepatitis B surface antigen and anti-hepatitis B core antibodies. Clinico-epidemiological features were analyzed for 78 patients. Patients included a majority of men (59%), women being significantly younger with a mean age of 36 ± 17 versus 43.5 ± 16.2 years (P = 0.009). Country of birth was available for 52 patients and 35% of them originated from sub-Saharan Africa. Levels of the liver biological parameters were significantly lower in women compared to men, in whom mean alanine aminotransferase and gammaglutamyl transferase levels were 24 ± 39 versus 37 ± 36 IU/l (P = 0.0001) and 20 ± 20 versus 51 ± 53 IU/l (P = 0.0001), respectively. Co-infections with hepatitis C and human immunodeficiency viruses were found in 5% and 6% of the patients, respectively. HBV DNA was detectable in 90% of the HBeAg-negative patients. In addition, there was a positive correlation between the HBsAg titer and the HBV DNA level (P = 0.001). Genotype D was the most common HBV genotype and was found in 53% of the patients tested, followed by genotype E (21%). HBV remains a major concern with a slightly greater number of new diagnoses than in 2004. HBV genetic diversity was substantial in the present cohort.

Abstract
AIM One of the most important aspects of interceptive orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning is space analysis. To date all methods use the size of permanent teeth to predict the dimensions of unerupted teeth. The aim of this study was to predict the permanent teeth size using maxillary primary first molar. METHODS The size of primary maxillary first molars and permanent canines and premolars of 80 subjects was measured on their dental casts. Regression equations were determined between the size of primary maxillary first molars and permanent canines and premolars. RESULTS The new regression equations for predicting permanent tooth size in the maxilla and mandible were, respectively, Y = 2.2X + 13 and Y = 2.4X + 9.5 among females and Y = 2.7X + 5.5 and Y = 2.4X + 9.5 among males. CONCLUSIONS The results show that the primary maxillary first molar size can be used to predict the size of unerupted permanent teeth.

Abstract
Abstract
BACKGROUND
Immunotherapy have revolutionized cancer treatment in the past decade, with a significant increased survival in patients with solid tumors. However, the use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has been associated with a growing number of neurotoxicities, some of which can be fatal if not recognized and treated promptly. Some of these neurotoxicities include very uncommon syndromes like Acute Motor Axonal Neuropathy (AMAN). Herein we present four oncological cases of patients who underwent immunotherapy and developed AMAN.
METHODS
Four patients were diagnosed with immune-related AMAN between 2017 and 2000 at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center. The patients were treated with standard of care and currently follow up in clinic.
RESULTS
We describe four oncological patients who developed a motor axonal neuropathy (i.e., AMAN) confirmed on nerve conduction studies following 2 cycles of immunotherapy, including a 28 year old woman with melanoma brain metastasis and a 50 year old woman with renal cell carcinoma both treated with ipilimumab and nivolumab, a 32 year old man with Hodgkin lymphoma who was treated with nivolumab and brentuximab, and a 77 year old woman with renal urothelial cancer who was treated with pembrolizumab and cabozantinib. All four patients were promptly recognized as having immune-related neurotoxicity (irNs), were promptly treated (i.e., high dose steroids +/- IVIG +/- other immunomodulators), and significantly improved and have remained stable.
CONCLUSION
This is the first case series of patients with AMAN following two cycles of immunotherapy, who were successfully treated. It is crucial to develop a better understanding of the irNs associated with ICIs, including those rare conditions that are difficult to diagnose and treat, as the utilization of these immunomodulating therapies continues to increase and expand to include other solid malignancies. Neurologists should be involved early on in any case of suspected irN to assist in the management of these complicated patients and a swift work up should be initiated for timely diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract
Odontogenic lesions have been described in several syndromes. Despite multiple reports of ameloblastoma's association with various syndromes, it has not been added to the diagnostic criteria for any syndrome. Thus, the aim of this systematic review was gathering such cases' data. An electronic search in PubMed Central's database was performed. The search strategy was limited to human studies (case reports and case series), full-text English articles published from first of January 1975 until the end of 2018. Irrelevant articles or articles with inadequate information were omitted. Associated syndrome, patients' age and sex, lesions' location, radiographic features, and treatment modality were collected and analyzed. Ameloblastoma was reported in association with Gorlin syndrome (6 cases), epidermal nevus syndrome (2 cases), Gardner syndrome (2 cases), Simpson-Golabi-Behmel syndrome (1 case), and Williams syndrome (1 case). The commonest associated syndrome was Gorlin syndrome (50%) with maxillary and female predilections. Both cases of epidermal nevus syndrome (ENS) were female with mandibular involvement. In syndromes that odontogenic lesions are one of the diagnostic criteria, it is important to rule out ameloblastic changes. Although the relationship between ameloblastoma and these syndromes is not well known, any related information may be helpful in understanding the pathogenesis and the nature of this neoplasm.

Abstract
Gaucher disease is a disease of overload lyosomale which we often met since a score of years. Since 1980 we had to answer several requests for diagnosis of this metabolic disease. Requests emanating primarily from paediatric services. Twelve cases were confirmed within sight of measurement of the intra-leucocytic activity of the beta-glucocerebrosidase, enzyme intervening in the catabolism of the sphingolipides. We report here our experiment in the biochemical diagnosis of Gaucher disease by showing mainly the variability and the extreme heterogeneity of the activity of the beta-glucosidasic during practised measurements. In addition, we expose the problems of diagnosis etiologic which certain patients raise in front of the discordances between the measured enzymatic activity and clinical signs of the disease of left-handed person. In addition, we develop the biological parameters useful to proportion for the monitoring of the treatment which is finally available in our country.

Abstract
Localized dissection of the descending thoracic aorta; class 3 of the classification proposed by the European Society of Cardiology; is a short and limited length dissection involving the descending thoracic aorta. It is a rare and unrecognized variant that poses a clinical and radiological diagnostic challenge. Indeed, it is manifested by an aspecific clinical profile represented by the acute aortic syndrome and characterized by a confused radiological aspect that entangled with the other differential diagnoses. We would like to emphasize the rarity of this uncommon pathology and the difficulty encountered in defining it based on a case treated in our department and a review of the literature.

Abstract
The imaging evaluation of post-traumatic spine and cord injuries is part of the global management of chronically handicapped patients. Diagnosis and follow-up MR imaging of cord lesions allows differentiation of static lesions from progressive lesions that could require surgical intervention. Follow-up CT imaging is helpful in the evaluation of spine lesions to distinguish between late complications (deformity, malunion, pseudoarthrosis, complications related to surgical hardware) and lesions secondary to the handicap (neurogenic spinal arthropathy).

Abstract
Background As enamel and finger buds have an ectodermal origin and grow at the same time, it might be supposed that factors and agents that affect dental caries might give rise to the diversity of dermatoglyphic dermal ridge patterns. Aim The present study aimed to evaluate the relationship between dental caries and dermatoglyphics in 3 to 6-year-old Iranian children. Methods The present case-control study was performed on 3 to 6-year-old children. The decayed, missing, and filled teeth (dmft) scale was used to evaluate the oral and dental health status in the participants. Then, the patients were divided into two groups: 1) The case group: patients with a dmft of ≥3 (101 cases); 2) the control group: those with dmft value of zero (86 cases). Afterward, using a fingerprint recording device, the fingerprints were obtained from both hands of the participants. Results There was no significant relationship between the patterns of fingerprints and dental caries. The percentages of whorls, loops, and arches in the case group were higher than those in the control group; however, these differences were not statistically significant. Conclusion Dermatoglyphic patterns could not be used as a variable for the detection or prediction of dental caries in Iranian children.

Abstract
Spasticity, a component of the pyramidal syndrome, characterized by increased tonic stretch reflexes and hyperactive deep tendon reflexes, occurs in patients with central nervous system lesions (stroke, brain or cord injury, multiple sclerosis, cerebral motor impairment). The implementation of standard procedures (patient positioning, increased examination time, turning off certain devices before MR imaging) allows the acquisition of high quality examinations in spastic patients. Worsening spasticity in a handicaped patients is due to an irritative process (deep seated infection, fracture, syrinx...) usually detectable with imaging. Ultrasound or CT guided injections of botulinum agents provides radiologists with the opportunity to further participate in the management of spastic patients.

Abstract
Background: As the biggest collection among various collections of hospital employees, nurses perform a vital role in the progress of the hospital actions and the improvement of community health. Objectives: This research intended to find the relationship between the shortage of nursing workforce and hospitals performance of Tehran's Medical Sciences University. Materials and Methods: The current analysis was a cross-sectional definitive research, which was conducted in selected educational hospices associated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences during the year 2010. While using three researcher-made questionnaires, information was obtained from all clinical, paraclinical, commercial, managerial and support units of hospitals. Information was investigated according to the patterns of Iran's Healthcare Ministry and Medical Education by employing Excel software. Pabon Lasso model was used for performance measurement during the year 2010. The mixture of 3 indicators was applied to determine the period of stay, bed occupancy time and bed turnover. Results: The outcomes revealed that the personnel of nursing, in the 18 hospital wards (66.67%) were at levels below the standards, just one ward (3.7%) reached the standards requirements, and the remainder of the hospital wards (29.62%) were at greater levels than the standard requirements. Both hospitals were near the value 4 in the Pabon Lasso model. The correlation analysis among the nursing shortage and performance showed a meaningful relationship (P<0.05). Conclusion: Frequently, the examined hospices were challenged with a shortage of nursing workforce and the dissemination of workforce was not suitable. A decent supervision of workforce in conformity with the shortage of staff compensated and achieved the rules needed for the hospital's nursing workforce and this would guide to an improvement in the performance of the hospitals' actions and could present gratification for the personnel.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Patients with R/R acute leukemia after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant (alloHCT) have a dismal prognosis with 3-year survival rates of < 20%. To improve outcomes, innovative targeted forms of organ sparing radiotherapy, such as tumor-specific RIT and TMLI, are needed to dose escalate with acceptable toxicities, especially in patients ≥ age 60 years who cannot tolerate total body irradiation (TBI) / myeloablative regimens and who have a poor prognosis. CD25 is an ideal RIT target given its expression in acute leukemias, association with poor prognosis, and expression by leukemia stem cells. In this phase I trial (NCT05139004) we hypothesized that combining dose escalated 90Y-anti-CD25 RIT with fixed dose TMLI 12 Gy, fludarabine (flu), and melphalan (mel) in patients with R/R disease is safe and associated with acceptable toxicities. MATERIALS/METHODS The primary objective of this trial is to determine the maximum tolerated dose and recommended phase 2 dose of 90Y-anti-CD25 Mab (Day -15) with 12 Gy TMLI (1.5 Gy twice a day, days -8 to -5), flu (30 mg/m2/d days -5 to -2), and mel (100 mg/m2, day -2) in patients ≥ 60 years old or with a HCT-comorbidity index ≥ 2 and with R/R AML, ALL or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) scheduled to undergo alloHCT from a matched donor. TMLI mean organ dose constraints for kidney, lung and liver were 4 Gy. Planned dose levels of 90Y-anti-CD25 were 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 mCi/kg. 111In-anti-CD25 (5 mCi) was co-infused followed by serial nuclear scans to assess dosimetry and biodistribution. RESULTS To date 5 patients (ages 31-74) with R/R AML have been treated. Marrow and circulating blasts ranged from 10-36% and 9-44%, respectively. For the 3 patients at 0.3 mCi/kg, follow-up ranged from 89-191+ days. 90Y/111In-anti-CD25 nuclear scans demonstrated persistent uptake in bone out to 144 hours, which was associated with a decline in circulating blasts. After combined RIT and TMLI, mean doses (Gy) to lungs ranged from 5.7-6.5, to kidneys from 7.5-8.2 and to liver from 7.2-11.6. No dose-limiting toxicities (DLT) were observed. All 3 patients achieved CR on day +30 bone marrow biopsies and 2 remained in CR on day +90 biopsies. Two patients have recently been treated at the 0.4 mCi/kg dose level. The results of patients treated at the higher dose levels will be provided. CONCLUSION Dose escalation by adding 90Y-anti-CD25 RIT at 0.3 mCi/kg to 12 Gy TMLI was safe, including in older patients, with no dose-limiting toxicities, mean critical organ doses lower than conventional myeloablative TBI, and encouraging response rates. The toxicity profile and dose estimates at 0.3 mCi/kg predict that the planned higher dose levels will also be feasible with acceptable toxicities. RIT and TMLI are complementary and when combined address the limitations of each modality. Combining these targeted therapies may be a superior strategy to intensify dose to leukemia compared to dose escalation of either modality alone.

Abstract
Background Handedness is one of the individual characteristics that causes different mental and practical capabilities including different abilities to perform oral hygiene instructions. It seems that the right-handed and left-handed individuals have different ability in brushing and removing plaque at different areas of the mouth. Aims To investigate the effect of handedness on decay pattern, gingival index, and plaque index in 6-10 years old children. Subjects and Methods In this cross-sectional study, children 6-10 years of age who fulfilled the inclusion criteria were selected. Dental caries and plaque and gingival indices were also measured and recorded for each child. Then the relationship between the handedness and the recorded variables was evaluated. Independent t-test and nonparametric Mann-Whitney test were used for the statistical comparison of quantitative variables between two right-handed and left-handed groups and Chi-square test was used for the statistical comparison of qualitative variables between these two groups. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 20. Results The results showed that there was no significant relationship between any of the variables with being left- or right-handed. A significant relationship was observed only between the lowest plaque index and handedness (P < 0.05). Conclusion A relationship cannot be considered between the handedness of children and their oral health status.

Abstract
The hematite (α-Fe2O3) nanostructures were synthesized by thermal oxidation of metal at 500 °C under atmospheric pressure. We studied the effect of the electrochemical pretreatment of the substrate before calcinations and its impact on the morphology, crystalline structure, lattice microstructural, and optical properties of α-Fe2O3. Uniform nanosheets were observed on the sample surface after calcination; their dimension and morphology were accentuated by the pretreatment, as confirmed by the SEM images. The characteristics of the nanostructures, analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), revealed a rhombohedral symmetry with the space group R-3c and lattice constants: a = 0.5034 nm and c = 1.375 nm. The average crystallite size and strain, determined from the Williamson-Hall (W-H) plot, showed substantial variations after the substrate pretreatment. The Raman spectroscopy confirmed the changes in the crystal properties of the hematite submitted to pretreatment. The diffuse reflectance allowed to evaluate the optical gap which lies between 1.2 and 1.97 eV, induced by the electrochemical processing. The photocatalytic activity of α-Fe2O3 films was assessed by the degradation of methylene blue (MB) under LED light; 15% enhancement of the degradation for the pretreated specimens was noticed.
